- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 89 - An Unexpected Accident
Six months ago, under the “guidance” of a friend, Chen Junsheng had invested in a major project. He walked away with a net profit of ten million yuan, a success that kept him in high spirits for weeks.
Five months ago, that same friend brought him two more projects, netting him another thirty million.
Three months ago, the friend dangled yet another opportunity. This time, the investment was substantial, but the projected returns were staggering. The buy-in? 130 million yuan.
Chen Junsheng hesitated. All the liquid capital he had on hand amounted to only eighty million. Where was he supposed to find the remaining fifty million?
The Cost of Greed
In the apartment he had bought for Lu Ming, Chen Junsheng sat browsing financial news while absentmindedly stroking the younger man’s slender calf.
Noticing his distraction, Lu Ming pouted and crawled into his arms. “Hubby, what have you been doing lately? You’re so busy. You finally come over to see me, and you’re just staring at your phone.”
Chen Junsheng set the phone aside and rubbed his tired eyes. “There’s a massive project, but the barrier to entry is too high. The minimum is 130 million.”
“What? Over a hundred million?” Lu Ming’s eyes widened in shock. “That’s so much…”
“That friend has connections with North American conglomerates—it’s a completely different network than what we have domestically. The first time I followed his lead with a small stake, I made ten million in three days. Net profit, after taxes.”
Lu Ming gasped. “That’s incredible profit!”
“Exactly. Otherwise, I wouldn’t be hesitating; I wouldn’t be this tempted.” Chen Junsheng desperately wanted a piece of the pie. But fifty million yuan wasn’t easy to come by, even with a loan.
“Why not mortgage your house?” Lu Ming suggested. “I remember your complex is quite expensive, isn’t it? It must be worth at least twenty million. Besides, Sister Mingyue is about to give birth—you’re going to divorce her sooner or later anyway.”
At this, Chen Junsheng’s expression soured. “Lu Jingze told me I’m leaving with nothing. If I touch that house, I’m dead.”
“Luckily, I’ve transferred my other assets. Aside from the house and the company, I have about thirty million in visible assets. Given Wang Mingyue’s personality, she’ll never want my company. When the time comes, I’ll give her the house and ten million. I’ll consider my debt to her paid in full.”
Lu Ming nodded. “Ten million plus a house? She won’t have a hard life. Hubby, you’re so kind. If we ever break up, will you give me compensation too?” Lu Ming blinked, his eyes a picture of feigned innocence.
Chen Junsheng leaned down and kissed him deeply. “Everything I have is yours.”
“Hehe~ Thank you, Hubby~” Lu Ming hooked his arms around Chen’s neck, and the two were soon lost in each other.
A Different Kind of Encounter
After Chen Junsheng left, telling Lu Ming to focus on his studies so he could join the company after graduation, Lu Ming called for a cleaning service. He headed to the shower while waiting.
Ding-dong—
The doorbell rang. Lu Ming threw on a bathrobe and rubbed his hair with a towel. Looking at the intercom, he saw a man in a black baseball cap wearing a professional cleaning uniform.
“The cleaner is surprisingly young,” he muttered.
When the door opened, the two men froze as they came face-to-face.
“Lu Ming?” “Li Kuo?”
Lu Ming hadn’t expected that the cleaner he’d summoned would be his university classmate, Li Kuo.
“Come in…” Lu Ming stepped aside awkwardly. Li Kuo looked equally embarrassed, but since this was his part-time job and he was already there, he had to bite the bullet and enter.
Li Kuo put on shoe covers and began to work. The apartment was cool from the air conditioning and smelled faintly of floral body wash. To break the awkward silence, Lu Ming poured him some juice. “Hehe, you don’t have to be too thorough. Just a quick wipe-down, then come sit and rest.”
Li Kuo glanced back. “It’s fine. I’ll clean first.”
Since it was summer, Li Kuo wore a black T-shirt. His toned arms were on full display as he used the cleaning cloth, his muscles tensing with every movement. When he bent over, the strength in his lower back was impossible to ignore. Lu Ming’s eyes followed Li Kuo’s silhouette, lingering on his profile.
Until…
Li Kuo found several “adult novelty” items near the sofa. His movements stiffened. Lu Ming, who had been watching him intently, felt his face flush a deep crimson. He rushed forward to snatch them away.
Li Kuo’s breathing hitched, but he kept his head down and continued cleaning. Then, a set of sheer black lace “cat ears” lingerie fell off the edge of the bed.
“Li Kuo… you won’t tell anyone, right?” Lu Ming’s face was burning as he gathered the clothes.
Li Kuo looked up, his eyes meeting Lu Ming’s watery gaze, before quickly looking away. “N-no, I won’t.”
It was then that Lu Ming noticed something unusual. He sensed a familiar vibe—one that suggested Li Kuo was a member of the same “community,” though clearly not a “0” like himself. Lu Ming’s gaze drifted downward and saw the obvious bulge in Li Kuo’s trousers.
The sheer scale of it made Lu Ming stumble back in shock. He fell onto the bed, his loose bathrobe splaying open to reveal the hickeys and marks left behind by his previous session with Chen Junsheng.
Li Kuo froze, his face turning bright red. Lu Ming scrambled to get up, stammering, “That… don’t bother with the bedroom. Just clean the bathroom…”
Li Kuo fled into the bathroom to hide his loss of composure. But the small space was filled with the scent of Lu Ming’s body wash, and the vanity was cluttered with products—including several items specifically used for same-sex intimacy.
Lu Ming realized his mistake and ran in to clear them away, but the floor was wet and slick. His foot slipped, and he instinctively grabbed Li Kuo to steady himself, pulling the taller man down with him.
Smack.
Lu Ming landed on top of Li Kuo, his lips accidentally brushing against the other man’s. Both were stunned. Lu Ming could feel the heat radiating from Li Kuo’s firm chest and abdominal muscles—a body far younger and stronger than Chen Junsheng’s.
In his dazed state, Lu Ming let out a breathless whisper: “So hard…”
Li Kuo’s entire body went rigid. Realizing what he’d said, Lu Ming struggled to get up, only to accidentally bump into Li Kuo’s sensitive area. Li Kuo let out a low groan.
“I’m sorry!” Lu Ming was nearly in tears from the embarrassment.
As they finally managed to scramble up, Lu Ming grabbed the items from the counter to leave, but a pair of strong arms suddenly locked around him. Li Kuo pinned him against his chest, leaned down with forceful intent, and captured Lu Ming’s reddened lips in a kiss.
Lu Ming was stunned. He tried to struggle, but Li Kuo was incredibly strong. Between the intensity of the kiss and the sudden rush of adrenaline, Lu Ming’s legs went weak. To Li Kuo, the struggling felt more like the playful scratching of a kitten—meaningless, yet undeniably provocative.
