- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 84 - Not Every Mother Loves Their Child
Lu Jingze watched the man beneath him bloom like the colors of spring. He swallowed hard; he was truly addicted to Xinghe’s body. However, he knew that overindulgence would be too taxing on Xinghe’s health. He couldn’t just ignore Xinghe’s physical well-being for the sake of his own desires.
He pulled Xinghe back into his arms. “Be good. I’m just teasing you, Brother. Go to sleep. I’ll tell you a bedtime story~”
Xinghe bit his lip, his brow furrowing. “You… you’re the one who provoked me, and now you’re the one saying we should sleep.”
Lu Jingze reached down under the quilt and immediately understood the situation.
“Well then~ Master Lu is at your service once again~” Lu Jingze slid down under the covers.
Feeling what Lu Jingze was doing, Xinghe’s entire body began to tremble. He reached down to stop him. “Don’t…”
“Mnh—” Xinghe let out a muffled groan, feeling as if his mind had drifted up into the clouds. His body tensed as he gripped the sheets, his slender knuckles turning white. He couldn’t help but let out soft cries, but then, overcome with shyness, he pulled the duvet up to cover his mouth.
It didn’t take long for Xinghe to surrender. He lay exhausted on the bed, his fair skin flushed a delicate pink, his eyes misty and unfocused. He was so limp he could barely lift an arm.
Lu Jingze was very satisfied. He pulled the man back into his embrace. “Brother, are you satisfied with Master Lu’s service~?”
Xinghe was both shy and helpless. “Don’t… do that again next time.”
“You didn’t like it? Hmm?” Lu Jingze teased. By now, Xinghe looked like a ripe tomato. He turned away and buried himself under the covers, his breath hot and ragged. What on earth is he doing?!
Lu Jingze held him from behind. Despite not having resolved his own “issue,” he didn’t touch himself.
Xinghe felt the heat behind him. “What about you? You’ll be uncomfortable if you leave it like that, won’t you?”
Lu Jingze held him tighter. “It’s nothing. I survived over twenty years without ‘tasting meat’ just fine. Brother, overdoing it will hurt your body. I want you to live a long, healthy life. I wanted to show you that I love you—it’s not just a craving for your body.”
Lu Jingze hadn’t been a sentimental person before. He used to think that a man constantly saying “I love you” was unmanly. But after falling for Xinghe, he understood a truth: love must be spoken and acted upon. Waiting for the other person to “realize” or guess your feelings is too exhausting. If you love him, tell him clearly and let him feel it.
Xinghe hadn’t expected Lu Jingze to think this way. He turned around, the blush still on his face, and lightly stroked Lu’s cheek. “You too, A-Ze. Stay healthy and live a long life.”
Then, Xinghe thought of something else. Even though it was a bit of a mood-killer after such intimacy, he felt it was better to speak up early.
“A-Ze, you’re different from me. You have a family legacy to inherit. I think, if the conditions allow, you should have a child of your own. Don’t avoid this topic with me; I support you.”
Lu Jingze stiffened, his eyes trembling. He pulled Xinghe close. “Silly Brother, what are you thinking?”
“Actually, the problem you’re worried about is already solved. My father has an illegitimate son… he’s one year old now.” Lu Jingze stroked Xinghe’s flushed cheek. “After I retake control of the Lu family, shall we raise him together?”
Lu Jingze hadn’t intended to bring up his father’s illegitimate child so soon, but now that Xinghe had mentioned it, he had to clear the air to avoid future misunderstandings.
“What about the child’s mother? Will she agree?” Xinghe was a bit hesitant; if the mother…
Speaking of the mother, Lu Jingze was speechless. “Xinghe-ge, the truth is, not every mother in this world loves her child.”
“The story of how this child came to be is quite melodramatic. Initially, her target wasn’t my father, but one of my father’s business rivals—a young, handsome, unmarried man. She wanted a one-night stand to get what she needed for IVF. But things took a turn. A companion sent her into the wrong room, which happened to be occupied by my drunken father. The girl just went with it and used my father’s… ‘contribution’ for the IVF instead.”
“She tried to use the child to extort money from my father, but I intercepted her. My father doesn’t even know he has a son yet. The girl took a billion yuan, abandoned the child, and vanished.”
Xinghe fell silent. He patted Lu Jingze’s back gently. He couldn’t imagine what it felt like for Lu to say “not every mother loves her child” so casually. Xinghe’s own mother loved him and his sister dearly, and his parents had always been fair and loving. In his small hometown, neighbors might argue or hit the table over bad grades, but he had never heard of someone selling a child for money.
Perhaps from the heights these people occupied, they saw more of the “filth” in the world? Does standing higher mean seeing more ghosts?
“If we bring the child here, what if I don’t know how to raise him?” Xinghe had never raised a child; he was nervous.
Lu Jingze chuckled. “It’s fine. The nannies and nutritionists will know how. It’s not like he’s ours…”
Xinghe shot him a glare. “You can’t think like that. If we decide to raise him, we treat him as our own. We give him a home, not treat him like a tool. A-Ze, that’s not fair to him. He couldn’t choose his birth, but we can love him in the future. He’s already pitiful enough.”
Lu Jingze let out a long sigh and a wry smile. “I guess the kid is lucky. I’ll listen to you. Shall we bring him over? He’s currently at a villa in the suburbs with the nannies.”
Xinghe truly couldn’t understand the logic of the ultra-wealthy. Leaving a one-year-old infant in the suburbs with staff and just… ignoring him?
“Bring him back tomorrow. If I hadn’t brought this up, how long would you have waited to tell me?” Xinghe finally accepted that the “melodrama” of wealthy families in TV shows was real—illegitimate children were everywhere.
“I’m sorry. This was the only thing I kept from you. Now everything is out in the open,” Lu Jingze apologized playfully. “But look at it this way—I basically saved the kid. Given the personalities of my ‘trash’ parents, if they knew his real identity, it’s hard to say if he’d even be allowed to live.”
“What do you want to name him? Since we’ve decided to raise him, let’s give him a proper name,” Lu Jingze said, holding Xinghe. He originally hadn’t planned on raising the boy himself, but Xinghe’s words had changed his mind. The child was innocent; he was just unlucky to be born to such parents—much like Lu Jingze himself. Since he had suffered through the rain, he might as well hold an umbrella for the boy.
“How about Lu Xiangyang? Xiangyang means ‘facing the sun’—to be forever happy, always walking toward the light,” Xinghe suggested.
“We’ll go with whatever you say. We’ll call him Xiangyang,” Lu Jingze said, mentally crossing out the name ‘Lu Yanye’ he had previously considered.
