- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 20 - Please, I'm Begging You, Don't Touch Me
At Lu Jingze’s manor, he finally finished dinner with his grandfather and the young woman. The moment he left, his expression turned cold. He quickly got into his car, took out his laptop, and began typing furiously with his slender fingers.
On the screen, a red dot blinked. It was from the tracking software he had secretly installed on Wang Xinghe’s phone the night he downloaded “Stimulating Battlefield.” Today was the first time he had activated and used the software.
Lu Jingze’s voice was frigid as he gave a command. “Find someone to tell Zhao Yan the location. And have a few unfamiliar people follow them.”
His subordinates moved quickly, carrying out his orders.
Zhao Yan, who had been frantically searching for Wang Xinghe, received the location. The blood rushed to his head, and he charged into the Ji family’s suburban villa alone.
Wang Xinghe’s consciousness was a blur. He felt his body was abnormally hot, as if surrounded by flames. The drug had stripped him of his ability to resist. His body became extremely sensitive, every inch of his skin felt like it was burning. His cheeks were unnaturally flushed. He lay there limply, like a red rose blooming in the dark.
It was a sight that made it difficult for Ji Yuheng to look away. It was the first time he had ever seen a man with a body that was flushed red and yet looked more beautiful than pale skin.
“Master Ji! Master Ji! Please show some mercy! Wang Xinghe is my lover.” Zhao Yan’s voice echoed through the entire villa.
Ji Yuheng, whose excitement was just about to reach its peak, was interrupted. His expression instantly turned gloomy.
“Tell him to get in here!” Ji Yuheng snapped.
Zhao Yan was quickly brought in. He was roughly shoved into the room by the people behind him. They kicked the backs of his knees, forcing him to kneel in front of Ji Yuheng.
Ji Yuheng looked down at him condescendingly and asked coldly, “Your lover?”
The pain in Zhao Yan’s knees made his face pale, but his gaze was firm. He looked at Wang Xinghe and nodded. “I’ve liked him since high school. We’ve kept in touch, and I came back to the country this time to be with him…”
Ji Yuheng wouldn’t believe his lies easily. He raised his chin towards a subordinate. The subordinate immediately called Qian Siyue and put the phone on speaker.
“Hello, Master Ji. What’s wrong so late?” Qian Siyue’s surroundings were noisy, but his voice was ingratiating.
“Is this Zhao Yan a gay man? Do you know?” Ji Yuheng asked.
Although their circle was a mess and most people were “bi,” there were still some straight men. Qian Siyue was one of them. Even with a thousand handsome men surrounding him, he remained unflinchingly straight.
Qian Siyue’s heart sank. His ominous premonition was confirmed. If Ji Yuheng was asking this, it was highly likely that Zhao Yan and Wang Xinghe were involved. His mind raced. He remembered a time when they were studying abroad and Zhao Yan got drunk and called someone. The person’s phone was off, but he had poured out a deep, heartfelt confession. Back then, Qian Siyue thought Zhao Yan liked a girl. Now, thinking about it, he probably liked this man named Wang Xinghe.
Qian Siyue took a deep breath and laughed twice. “I think he likes his male deskmate from high school. He’s definitely not straight, but I’m not sure if he’s bisexual.”
Ji Yuheng raised an eyebrow, instantly losing all interest. He hung up the phone and looked at Zhao Yan kneeling on the floor. “Take your person and get out.” Ji Yuheng turned around.
Zhao Yan quickly got up. He took off his own jacket and draped it over Wang Xinghe. He easily picked up the feverish man and carried him horizontally. He was furious inside but had to humiliate himself by saying to Ji Yuheng, “Thank you, Master Ji, for your leniency.”
Ji Yuheng didn’t even look at him as he was escorted out of the basement by his bodyguards.
Back at his villa, Zhao Yan’s eyes were filled with pain. He looked at Wang Xinghe, heartbroken. His voice trembled as he whispered, “Xinghe… are you okay?”
Wang Xinghe’s lips were bleeding from where he had bitten them. A brief moment of clarity showed in his eyes. When he saw that the person in front of him was Zhao Yan, his voice was a weak plea. “Zhao Yan… please… don’t touch me…”
He was okay with anyone else, but not Zhao Yan. He was his last friend. If they crossed that line, they couldn’t even be friends anymore.
Zhao Yan’s body trembled. He held back his heartache and nodded. “I’ll take you to the bathroom. You can take care of it yourself.”
“Xinghe… if you don’t want to, I won’t force you.”
Wang Xinghe gave him a grateful look.
In the bathroom, Wang Xinghe’s body was weak. To get rid of the drug’s effects, he finished as quickly as possible. The moment he came out, his mind cleared a little. But his body was still weak.
He sat in the bathtub, the warm water reaching his chest. He leaned wearily against the back of the tub. There was no one in Kyoto he cared about anymore. He should go back… to that small town, and live for as long as he could.
Wang Xinghe put on his clothes and stumbled out of the bathroom. Zhao Yan, who was waiting at the door, rushed over to support him. A much clearer Wang Xinghe said sincerely to Zhao Yan, “Thank you…”
“If it weren’t for you, my fate might have been terrible…”
Zhao Yan shook his head and helped him to the bedroom on the second floor. The clean, warm yellow light shone on Wang Xinghe. Exhausted, he forced a smile.
“Yanzi, I know you’re sincere with me, but I really, really, really… can’t accept any sincerity anymore.”
“We’ve known each other for three years. You should know my personality. I’m so tired…”
“I want to live the rest of my life in peace, quietly, and alone.”
“The more you help me, the more guilty I feel, the more anxious I get, the more scared I am…”
“This world is beautiful, but I don’t deserve it… I’m afraid that if I’m even a little happy, God will take something away from me again.”
“Yanzi, let me go, and let yourself go, too.”
“If you have to have me once to end your obsession, you can do it now. After it’s over, we’ll be strangers for the rest of our lives.”
Zhao Yan’s eyes turned red, and tears fell. He opened his mouth and shook his head. “I’m a… a pure love warrior, don’t you know that?”
“I wouldn’t touch you like that.”
Seeing him cry, Wang Xinghe’s eyes also turned red. He looked up at the ceiling as tears fell one by one. Zhao Yan held out his arm. “Can I comfort you as a friend…?”
Wang Xinghe nodded, and Zhao Yan pulled him into his arms. The big man sobbed uncontrollably. “Xinghe… I’m sorry. If I had been a little braver, if I had come back a year earlier, maybe everything would have been different.”
Wang Xinghe was silent in his embrace. The truth was, even if he had come back a year earlier, nothing would have been different between them. He was different from Lu Jingze. Zhao Yan was a wealthy young master. He knew that he didn’t need his help. But Lu Jingze was different. When he first saw him, it was like finding his past self, who had been on the verge of giving up on life. From the beginning, saving Lu Jingze was an act of saving himself.
But Zhao Yan had never needed him, from start to finish.
Wang Xinghe’s eyelashes fluttered. So that’s it… I was missing a sense of being needed… How ridiculous to want to be needed, to be validated…
The sedative took effect. Wang Xinghe fainted in Zhao Yan’s arms. After Zhao Yan laid him down, he realized that Wang Xinghe’s forehead was terribly hot. He panicked and called an ambulance.
