- Chasing My Husband! The "Crown Prince" of the Beijing Circle Is Wildly Unruly!
- Chapter 2 - The 'Crown Prince' Comes Out with a Patek Philippe
“The underwear is too small; I can’t fit into it,” the man said in a hoarse voice, his long fingers hooking the light green cotton boxers Wang Xinghe had bought.
As a fellow man, Wang Xinghe’s face flushed a little. “How about… I use scissors to cut it for you to get by tonight, and I’ll buy you a new pair tomorrow.”
The man grunted in a low tone and pushed the boxers toward him.
Wang Xinghe took the boxers, went to his room to get scissors, and cut a slit along the waistband. He also made a few more slits at the four corners and on the sides of the shorts.
He pulled at it hard, figuring that should do the trick.
He ran back downstairs and handed it to him.
“Hurry and put them on, don’t catch another cold.”
The man put on Wang Xinghe’s sweatpants, which were clearly too small for him. The bottom half of his long, slender calves was exposed.
The sweater was also a bit small, making him look like a grown-up who had stolen a child’s clothes. He looked a little squeezed and cramped.
Wang Xinghe looked at him. The sight was a bit comical, but he only pursed his lips and didn’t laugh out loud.
The man, however, didn’t seem embarrassed. After drying his hair, he pointed at the menu hanging in the restaurant.
He then rummaged through the pile of dirty clothes on the floor, found a watch, and handed it to him. “I want to eat the knife-cut noodles.”
Wang Xinghe passively took it. It felt heavy in his hand.
He looked down at the watch and was almost scared enough to drop it. “Patek Philippe?”
Men love watches, and he had done some research on them before. Although he couldn’t tell for sure if it was real, the logo on it was indeed Patek Philippe.
“Is this real or fake? If it’s real, it must be hundreds of thousands, or even millions [of yuan]…”
The man shook his head. “I don’t remember.”
Wang Xinghe’s mouth twitched. The level of detail on the watch meant that even if it was a high-quality replica, it would still cost three to five thousand yuan.
He couldn’t help but re-examine the man in front of him.
He was incredibly handsome, covered in strange mud, and from his behavior, it seemed he had amnesia.
Could he be a rich man who accidentally fell into the sea?
After all, with that face and physique, even if he were to become a live streamer, he would quickly attract a large fan base and make a lot of money.
Wang Xinghe pushed the watch back to him. “I’m guessing this watch is real. It’s too valuable; you should keep it. My treat.”
Wang Xinghe walked into the kitchen and expertly lit the stove.
There was only one last ball of dough left on the cutting board. He washed his hands and began to knead it on the shiny stainless steel surface.
His arms flexed with his movements, the muscle lines especially distinct under the light.
He was completely focused on the dough in his hands, unaware that a pair of eyes behind him was fixed on him, with a look of intense, predatory possession.
The dough, under Wang Xinghe’s skilled hands, turned into a number of thin, cicada-wing-like slices of knife-cut noodles. He used a strainer to scoop them out and put them in a bowl.
Then, he ladled rich bone broth from a nearby pot, poured it over the noodles, added a spoonful of tender braised beef, and finally sprinkled on a handful of fresh bok choy.
The steaming hot noodles were ready. Wang Xinghe brought the bowl to the table and saw that the man was still standing where he was.
He waved to him. “Come and sit. Why are you just standing there like a fool?”
When he heard the word “fool,” the man’s eyebrows noticeably twitched. He looked a little disbelieving.
But he quickly masked his expression and sat down at the dark red wooden table.
He picked up the chopsticks and swallowed hard.
He picked up a piece of noodle and put it in his mouth.
The fragrant bone broth and noodles, along with their satisfying, chewy texture, filled his hungry stomach.
The man ate gracefully but quickly, and soon the bowl was empty.
“It was very delicious, thank you,” the man said. His voice was much better, but it was still a low, deep rumble.
Wang Xinghe looked at him and cautiously asked, “You don’t look very old; are you a university student?” The jacket, sneakers, and sweatpants were almost a standard outfit for students. People who worked tended to wear this less.
The man across from him shook his head again. “I’m sorry. It’s all a little blurry.”
Wang Xinghe sighed. “What’s your name? Where do you live? Can you remember any other useful information?”
The man thought for a moment, his eyelashes lowered. “Someone seems to call me Jingze, but I don’t remember my last name.”
“Jingze? That’s a good name.” Wang Xinghe didn’t ask any more questions.
He was thinking about whether it would be better to call the police now or in the morning.
Wang Xinghe took the empty bowl and chopsticks into the kitchen to wash them, then placed them in the sterilizer.
Purple light shone evenly on the dishes.
Bang! There was a loud noise behind him.
Wang Xinghe was startled. He ran out and found that the man who had just finished eating had fainted on the floor.
Panicked, he didn’t even take off his apron. He struggled to lift the man into his BYD and sped toward the hospital.
“What’s with all these injuries? The patient lost a lot of blood and has a fever. Why did you let him take a bath? Don’t you care about his life?”
The doctor’s tone was not pleasant.
Wang Xinghe’s mind was buzzing. Lost a lot of blood? A fever?
Wang Xinghe felt so ashamed. He had been so busy admiring the man’s perfect physique and handsome face that he had genuinely not noticed his discomfort.
Sigh…
Jingze lay on a temporary bed in the infusion room, receiving an IV. Looking at his handsome, fever-flushed face, Wang Xinghe decided to wait until he woke up to take him to the police station.
The blood and IV bags kept going, and the ordeal didn’t end until 3:00 AM.
The man slowly came to.
Wang Xinghe looked at him and asked softly, “Jingze, are you feeling better?”
“I think I remember my last name. It’s Lu. My name is Lu Jingze. What about you? What’s your name?” Lu Jingze’s hoarse, low voice echoed in the quiet infusion room.
Lu Jingze. The name sounded even better.
Wang Xinghe stood up and leaned over him.
Lu Jingze’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, his heart pounding like a drum.
He saw a dry, warm palm gently placed on his forehead.
The tea-brown eyes showed a clear sign of relief. “Your fever finally broke.”
“My name is Wang Xinghe. I should be a few years older than you. You can call me Brother Wang, Brother Xinghe, whatever you like. It’s up to you.”
As the dry, warm hand left, Lu Jingze’s breathing returned to normal. “Brother Xinghe, from now on, you can call me Aze.”
Wang Xinghe was dumbfounded. “That’s pretty intimate! You’re a little too familiar for a stranger.”
Lu Jingze’s lips curled into a smile, a genuine one this time. “Can I, Brother Xinghe?”
Wang Xinghe didn’t mind. The other person seemed like a young kid much younger than him. He probably just had temporary amnesia, and Wang Xinghe happened to give him a little bit of warmth as a stranger. It was normal for him to feel a little dependent. So “Aze” it was.
“Sure, why not? So, is our Aze feeling better now?”
Lu Jingze’s thin lips curved, and his eyes smiled as he nodded.
Wang Xinghe gave a gentle smile. “When it’s light out, I’ll take you to the police station. I’m sure your family is very worried.”
At the mention of family, Lu Jingze’s smile faded. He just lowered his eyelids and said nothing.
Wang Xinghe was truly exhausted. He rested his head on the edge of the bed and fell asleep.
Lu Jingze turned on his side and looked at Wang Xinghe’s profile, his eyes filled with a certain possessiveness. It was the absolute confidence of a wolf who had found its rabbit.
“Wang Xinghe… your name is beautiful, and so are you.”
Lu Jingze pulled the down jacket he was wearing and gently placed it over him.
He continued to watch Wang Xinghe without moving until dawn.
