- Chapter 4 - The Immortal Sect's Darling (2) — I Will Stay With Master Forever...
Beneath the bamboo forest of Baxian Peak, bamboo leaves, green as jade and shaped like long swords, fell one after another, the dry, yellow leaves beneath their feet crunching with every step.
Ye Yuan’s gaze sharpened. Right now, compared to infiltrating Feixian Peak, he wanted nothing more than to fill his stomach.
In the next second, he opened his mouth and bit down hoarsely on Ye Qianjue’s arm.
“Ah!”
Ye Qianjue let out a shout, then gathered Ye Yuan into his embrace.
He scolded: “You are not allowed to bite people!”
Only then did Ye Yuan realize that because his soul power was too weak, he had transformed into a little wolf cub that hadn’t even grown all its teeth yet!
What a humiliating shame!
“Good puppy~ Wait until I see the Demon Lord, and then I’ll take you home~”
Small, chubby, and fair hands continuously kneaded and massaged Ye Yuan’s puppy head.
Ye Yuan: …
The one person and one wolf stumbled along, eventually reaching the foot of the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
Ye Qianjue gazed up at the spire that pierced the clouds, letting out a series of gasps. The little dumpling held Ye Yuan and approached the barrier of the Demon-Suppressing Tower, extending his fair, small hand a layer of protective barrier immediately appeared.
“It’s Master’s barrier! The Demon Lord lives here. Master said it’s a big cat with long horns…”
“Awoo awoo! Awoo!”
Ye Yuan howled a few times, twisting his body in dissatisfaction, seemingly reacting strongly to Ye Qianjue’s previous words.
“Mm… don’t be troublesome.”
Ye Qianjue wore a troubled expression; he felt like he could barely hold onto him anymore.
Just as he prepared to put Ye Yuan down, the little puppy in his arms broke free from its restraints and ran straight into the Demon-Suppressing Tower, disappearing without a trace.
“Puppy!”
Ye Qianjue stopped outside the barrier, looking at the pitch-black tower, feeling a bit afraid.
He muttered: “It’s very dangerous inside… Master isn’t here, I’m afraid to go down alone…”
Ye Qianjue took small, shuffling steps, pacing back and forth. His light brows were knitted together in a lump. He looked inside, took a deep breath, and clenched his fists.
He whispered: “I’m going in?”
Ye Qianjue closed his eyes, summoned all his strength, and hardened his heart as he charged inside.
In the shadows, Ye Yuan watched Ye Qianjue’s appearance and found it amusing. Why not “tease” this kid it’s not like he’s Gu Qingyun’s disciple for nothing.
The moment his front paws stepped into the Demon-Suppressing Tower, Ye Qianjue regretted it.
He pouted his little lips, crossed his arms, and walked inside, shivering.
“So cold… even colder than Master’s ice bed… where did the puppy run off to? It’s a bad puppy, not listening to me at all!”
Even as he said this, Ye Qianjue still ventured further in.
He called out to Ye Yuan in a low voice: “Puppy… come out, I’m so cold and so scared…”
Just as Ye Qianjue’s nerves were stretched to the breaking point, a blinding light appeared, accompanied by a deep, booming sound: “Who are you! How dare you trespass into the Demon-Suppressing Tower!”
The terrifying voice sounded like a monster claiming a life, and Ye Qianjue was stunned in place with fright.
He looked up and saw a massive beast lying in the lava. A pair of black wings that shielded the sky grew from its back, dragon horns towered high atop its head, and its fangs were incredibly long!
Ye Qianjue was so scared he forgot to even blink.
His voice trembled, yet he feigned courage.
He replied: “I, I am Ye Qianjue, I, I came to find the puppy, have, have you seen it…”
Ye Qianjue staggered back a few steps, swallowed hard, and stared in shock at the Qiongqi before him.
Why is it different from what Master said!
Master clearly said it was a cute, fluffy big cat!
I’ll never believe Master again!
Noticing the child had been scared out of his wits, Ye Yuan continued to question him with a terrifying voice: “Do you know who I am? And you dare trespass into the Demon-Suppressing Tower?”
Ye Yuan waved his giant wings; beneath those massive feathers, Ye Qianjue was shrouded in darkness, feeling suffocated.
“You are the Demon Lord.”
Ye Qianjue looked up at Ye Yuan. Despite being scared in body and spirit, a trace of curiosity flickered in his eyes.
Following Ye Qianjue’s gaze, Ye Yuan’s tail swayed back and forth, sweeping around—it actually looked a little cute?
If only I could pet it.
Ye Yuan was somewhat surprised. He had assumed the child before him would have wet himself in terror.
“You aren’t afraid of me? This Venerable loves eating children, especially immortal sect disciples like you.”
He let out a low roar toward Ye Qianjue, maximizing the intimidation effect.
Ye Qianjue nearly lost his footing from the roar and fell backward. At that exact moment, a bolt of white light pierced in from outside the Water Cave, exploding like a thunderclap.
Ye Qianjue covered his head, on the ground with his round backside pouting, as the white light overhead struck directly at Ye Yuan.
“Who is it!”
Ye Yuan let out a ferocious growl. He saw ice crystals landing all over his body and suddenly realized—who else but Gu Qingyun could do this!
Ye Qianjue, who had fallen to the side, also recognized his Master’s spell.
“Master, Jue’er is here!”
Ye Qianjue sat on the ground, raising his small hand to signal.
Gu Qingyun walked slowly into the Demon-Suppressing Tower. His white flowing robes emitted a fluorescent glow, and his handsome, icy face wore a look of displeasure.
He reached Ye Qianjue and cast a reproachful glance, which immediately made the usually lively Ye Qianjue fall silent.
Ye Qianjue knew that whenever Master wore that expression, he was truly angry.
Ye Yuan whipped his tail through the lava, flinging it toward the two.
Gu Qingyun’s gaze tightened, and the boiling lava instantly turned into ice shards, shattering all over the ground.
“Imprisoning you here was out of the hope that you would change your ways. Who would have thought you would remain stubborn, daring to harbor designs on a disciple of Feixian Peak.”
Ye Yuan laughed with a demonic tone: “Gu Qingyun, you are truly shameless! Who asked for your mercy! You hypocritical dog, the moment I regain my inner core, the first thing I will do is kill your disciples!”
As soon as these words were out, Gu Qingyun froze.
Killing intent flared in his eyes. He looked at Ye Qianjue, who was clutching his sleeve, and for the first time, felt a pang of lingering fear.
His body was deteriorating day by day, his spiritual power slowly fading.
If the day of tribulation came, would he really let the Demon Lord snatch the inner core from Ye Qianjue’s body?
No, he would absolutely never allow such a thing to happen.
Gu Qingyun said nothing, gathered the bewildered Ye Qianjue into his arms, and left the Demon-Suppressing Tower.
Watching Gu Qingyun’s retreating back, Ye Yuan was suspicious. Going by Gu Qingyun’s temper, he should have given him a beating; why let him off so easily this time?
Once out of the Demon-Suppressing Tower, the first thing Ye Qianjue thought of was his puppy.
He tugged at Gu Qingyun’s collar, looking anxiously toward the barrier: “Master, my puppy is still inside, my puppy! Master~”
Gu Qingyun frowned slightly. “What puppy?”
“Mm~” Ye Qianjue picked at his fingers, saying cautiously: “I picked it up in the bamboo forest… Master, please let Jue’er keep the puppy, okay~”
Ye Qianjue pulled at Gu Qingyun’s collar, tugging back and forth. Before long, Gu Qingyun’s clothes were in disarray, revealing a large expanse of fair skin.
Ye Qianjue squirmed, jumped out of Gu Qingyun’s arms, and tugged at his sleeve, trying to pull him back in.
But the disparity in strength was too great it was like the fool moving the mountains.
The tiny Ye Qianjue put his hands on his hips and said: “If Master won’t let me keep the puppy… then, then I won’t go back!”
With that, Ye Qianjue returned to the Demon-Suppressing Tower in a huff, standing before the barrier with an expression of “giving death a view,” looking very arrogant.
A puppy?
There was demonic energy soaring to the heavens for miles around this tower; where would a living creature come from?
Gu Qingyun’s eyes narrowed slightly, as if he had sensed something. Could it be that the Demon Lord had some scheme?
Watching his persistent little disciple, Gu Qingyun stroked his small face: “I will let you keep it. Then bring the puppy out, and let me have a look.”
Hearing that his Master had agreed, Ye Qianjue’s eyes sparkled, shimmering like stars.
“Okay! Jue’er is going to go hug the puppy now!”
With that, the naughty Ye Qianjue ran into the Demon-Suppressing Tower like a puff of smoke. A moment later, he appeared all covered in dirt, holding a small black wolf in his arms.
A flash of suspicion crossed Gu Qingyun’s eyes. He crouched down casually and stroked the small wolf.
He took the opportunity to test what kind of monster this wolf cub really was.
After probing, no clues were found; there wasn’t even a trace of demonic energy on the wolf cub’s body.
“Master?”
Seeing his Master remain silent, Ye Qianjue leaned in close, staring at Gu Qingyun with eyes like grapes, looking incredibly cute.
“Cough cough…”
Gu Qingyun coughed twice, watching Ye Qianjue’s excitement. As a disciple-spoiling master, Gu Qingyun naturally couldn’t refuse.
He patted Ye Qianjue’s head, then tugged at his earlobe, his voice stern: “I agree to let Qianjue keep the puppy, but you must promise not to skip class anymore. Starting today, I will teach you everything I have learned in my life.”
Gu Qingyun’s voice was resonant, and what he said sounded profound.
Ye Qianjue: “Don’t understand.”
He stared blankly at Gu Qingyun.
“Master, Qianjue doesn’t want to study, I want to stay with Master forever.”
With that, Ye Qianjue stepped forward and hugged Gu Qingyun.
The poor Ye Yuan was stuck in the middle, feeling extremely uncomfortable!
This was the first time he had heard Gu Qingyun say so much; he must really love this disciple. Looking up at Gu Qingyun’s face, Ye Yuan felt nauseous. Then, an idea struck him, and he deliberately bit down on the sleeve of Gu Qingyun’s arm, refusing to let go.
Just as Ye Yuan expected, Gu Qingyun tried to shake him off with great distaste, but found himself helpless.
Instead, it was Ye Qianjue who pulled desperately at Gu Qingyun’s sleeve, tears in his eyes: “Master, don’t move!”
Ye Yuan: “Awoo~ awoo!”
Ye Yuan let out a sorrowful howl, like a lone beast.
For the first time, Gu Qingyun’s face darkened. Looking at the black wolf hanging from his sleeve, his heart was in turmoil; he wanted to fling this wolf away immediately!
But with his precious disciple by his side, Gu Qingyun had to endure it.
The usually calm and cold Immortal Venerable Gu now had a bulging vein on his forehead, his beautiful eyes fierce, eyes full of killing intent toward this wolf cub.
“I have a pet! Long live Master”
Ye Qianjue held Ye Yuan, hanging from Gu Qingyun’s crook of the arm, and gave Gu Qingyun a forceful kiss on the cheek.
A trace of crimson flush appeared on Gu Qingyun’s fair face, which vanished quickly, leaving only his icy, heavenly-snow-lotus-like handsome face.
The two people and one dog rode their swords, landing on the Trial Platform of Feixian Peak.
Ye Qianjue, upon landing, was extremely excited, holding the little wolf high to show it off everywhere.
“I have a pet! Senior Brother~ I have a pet~ Hi! Senior Sister~ this is my pet~”
Ye Qianjue showed off the wolf cub in his arms to everyone he saw.
“Little Junior Brother, what is the name of this spirit pet?”
Ye Qianjue scratched his little face, puzzled: “Spirit pet? Name? It doesn’t have a name yet~”
He looked down at the slumbering Ye Yuan in his arms, then looked back at his Master, who was standing straight in the Bagua array, thinking: Why not ask Master?
Action speaks louder than words!
Ye Qianjue took small, shuffling steps toward Gu Qingyun, tugging at his clothes shyly, his cheeks flushed and bashful.
“Master~ can you give my puppy a name?”
The disciple wants me to give a name?
Gu Qingyun looked at the sleeping creature in Ye Qianjue’s arms, feeling troubled. He crouched down and pointed at Ye Yuan: “Looking at how this wolf cub is completely black, why not call it ‘Black Fur’.”
“Black… Black Fur?” Ye Qianjue frowned, looking at Ye Yuan in his arms.
He was a bit hesitant, then looked up at his Master everything Master gives me is the best!
“Hmm! Let’s call it Black Fur!”
The silly Ye Qianjue rubbed the sleeping Ye Yuan and called out softly: “Black Fur~ Black Fur, be good~”
In his dreams, Ye Yuan felt like a nightmare was (clinging to) him…
His whole body was uncomfortable…
Drenched in cold sweat…
