- Chapter 63 - Baby Shark Returns to the Ocean
Mi Yue didn’t say much more, simply instructing Sarah to take good care of Claude before retreating to her room.
She closed the stone door behind her and used the system to return to the modern world.
In the Beast World, she had no means to treat asthma, but modern medicine was advanced. While it couldn’t cure the condition entirely, there were certainly emergency medications that could save lives in critical moments.
Back at her hillside villa, Mi Yue took out her phone and called the hospital director.
“Director, it’s Mi Yue. I wanted to ask, are there any effective medications for asthma that can completely cure it?”
“Ms. Mi, while there are indeed effective medications for asthma, none can fully eradicate the condition.”
“Asthma can only be managed with medication. With proper treatment and by avoiding allergens, patients can live normal lives. If you need it, Ms. Mi, you can purchase asthma inhalers, they’re highly effective for sudden asthma attacks and are readily available at pharmacies.”
“Alright, thank you, Director.”
After hanging up, Mi Yue grabbed her car keys and headed to the underground garage.
She arrived at a pharmacy and had the pharmacist prepare a large supply of asthma inhalers, along with some other daily medications.
Having spent time in the Beast World, she realized danger lurked at every turn. It was best to stock up on wound treatment supplies as well.
[Host, Claude will arrive at the stone house in ten seconds. Please return to the Beast World immediately.]
“So soon?”
Mi Yue had no choice but to quickly park her car, store all the medications in her system space, and return to the Beast World.
Just as Claude knocked on the door, Mi Yue was standing in the middle of the stone house.
“Coming,” she feigned a yawn before slowly opening the door.
The moment it swung open, Claude saw her bleary-eyed, as if she’d just woken up.
“What’s wrong, Claude? Are you still feeling unwell somewhere?”
“No, I came to thank you. This is a small token of my gratitude, please accept it.”
Following Claude’s gaze, Mi Yue noticed the generous spread of food laid out on the ground, including fresh fruits.
“You took me in, so helping you was only natural.”
Seeing Claude’s sincerity, Mi Yue didn’t refuse and accepted the gifts.
“Actually, I have something for you too.”
She pulled out the asthma medications she had bought and stuffed them all into Claude’s arms.
“What’s this?” Claude stared at the white plastic bag curiously, he had never seen anything like it before.
“These are medicines that will help with your condition. Whenever you feel short of breath or uncomfortable, just spray it toward your nose, and it’ll relieve the symptoms.”
To demonstrate, Mi Yue took out one of the inhalers and guided Claude step by step on how to use it.
“So that’s how it works. What a strange medicine, I’ve never seen anything like this before.”
Claude marveled at the bottles of spray inside the bag. It was his first time seeing medicine that didn’t need to be swallowed, just pressed a couple of times near his face.
“Does your condition flare up regularly, or is it random?”
Mi Yue thought about the issue of allergens again. For Claude to live a normal life, they needed to identify and avoid whatever triggered his asthma.
“It happens occasionally. I don’t know why,” Claude answered honestly.
“We still need to identify the allergen. Did you come into contact with anything unusual yesterday?”
Claude thought carefully. “Yesterday, I received fresh flowers from my uncle, they were meant for my sister, but they passed through my hands.”
Mi Yue had a hunch she knew what the allergen might be.
“Would it be possible for you to take me to see those flowers? It might help with your condition.”
Claude agreed without hesitation.
“Of course, follow me.”
Claude led Mi Yue to the flowers. She noticed they resembled lilies in shape, but instead of the usual white, they were yellow.
Mi Yue plucked one and held it up to Claude.
He took a single sniff, and immediately, his breathing became labored, his chest heaving violently as he broke into fits of coughing, classic asthma symptoms.
Mi Yue quickly grabbed her asthma inhaler, pressing it to Claude’s mouth and instructing him to inhale the medication.
After a while, his breathing steadied, and he gradually recovered.
Relieved to see him back to normal, Mi Yue sighed.
She was now certain: Claude was allergic to pollen.
As long as he stayed away from flowers, ensuring none were present in his living space, and took basic precautions, his condition should improve.
“Claude, are you feeling better?” Mi Yue asked.
He didn’t respond verbally, only nodding.
“You saw it yourself, your reaction was triggered by these flowers. From now on, remove all flowers from your home and avoid them entirely.”
“If you stay away from them, your asthma attacks will decrease. With the medication I’ve given you and by avoiding allergens, your symptoms may even disappear entirely.”
That night, Claude returned to his stone house.
The moment he stepped inside, his gaze landed on a bouquet of fresh flowers placed on the wooden table.
He froze, suddenly recalling Mi Yue’s warning from earlier.
“Master, we’ve cleared all the flowers from the house, but these on the table… they were prepared by Second Master. He said they might lift your spirits and even help your condition. Who knew they’d harm you instead?”
“Thank goodness that little female noticed. If spring had come and these flowers bloomed everywhere, you’d have been in real danger. Second Master meant well, but…”
Claude remained silent, sitting quietly by the table.
After a long pause, he tapped the table lightly.
“Was my uncle truly unaware?”
Sarah, standing nearby, stiffened before quickly grasping her master’s implication.
“Don’t worry, Master. I’ll investigate immediately.”
Before leaving, Sarah took the flowers with her, ensuring Claude wouldn’t suffer another attack.
Meanwhile, Xing Chi finally arrived at the inland sea with the ten baby sharks.
The journey had been rushed, he worried about the strain on the young sharks, fearing the distance might be too much for them.
Fortunately, they showed no major changes in condition, though the trip had left them exhausted.
But even after reaching the inland sea, Xing Chi didn’t release them immediately.
He dug a deep pit in a secluded and hidden spot, placing the baby sharks inside.
After finishing this task, he caught some small fish and shrimp to feed the baby sharks in the pit.
“Stay here and don’t wander around. If you get hungry, eat these small fish and shrimp. Be good, alright? Father will be back soon.” Xing Chi reassured the baby sharks in the pit as he watched them.
Only after seeing the baby sharks begin to eat the fish and shrimp, their spirits somewhat restored, did he leave.
Alone, he returned to the inner sea. He knew all too well how the people of the Sea Shark Tribe felt about him, there was no way he could bring the baby sharks back directly.
