- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 39 - Modern Medical Treatment for Xing Chi
Was it Xing Chi who was injured, or was it the Shaman Yue?
Xiu Ka couldn’t help but worry, his emotions fluctuating wildly.
Mi Yue received a notification from the system and quickly sent a message to Xiu Ka via her phone to reassure him.
Mi Yue: “Xiu Ka, I’m fine. It’s Xing Chi who’s injured. I’ll take him for treatment and return to Tiger City in a few days.”
Hearing that it wasn’t Mi Yue who was hurt, Xiu Ka felt much more at ease.
After sending the message, Mi Yue put down her phone and turned her attention to Xing Chi.
He had already passed out from his severe injuries. The wound was on his abdomen, large and deep, far beyond what band-aids or gauze could handle. He needed to go to the hospital for surgical suturing.
But she was also worried that Xing Chi might involuntarily shift into his beast form during the procedure, exposing his true identity.
After some thought, Mi Yue decided to ask Xiu Ka for advice via her phone.
Mi Yue: “Xiu Ka, do you know of anything that can prevent a male from shifting into his beast form?”
As long as a male could take human form, he could control his physical shape at will.
Xiu Ka didn’t understand why Mi Yue needed such a thing, but he answered honestly.
“There is a kind of Transformation Grass that can keep a male in human form for a full day without shifting.”
“It’s sold in Tiger City, but it requires crystal beads. Five orange crystal beads for one stalk of Transformation Grass.”
Seeing Xiu Ka’s reply, Mi Yue sighed in relief.
Thankfully, it was just a matter of crystal beads. She still had plenty on hand, and any problem that could be solved with them was a minor one.
“Xiu Ka, I’ll give you the crystal beads. Can you go buy some Transformation Grass for me?” Mi Yue’s tone was urgent.
“Alright, wait for me. I’ll be quick.” Without asking further questions, Xiu Ka hurried off to purchase the Transformation Grass for Mi Yue.
Fortunately, with the crystal beads, buying the grass wasn’t difficult, and Xiu Ka soon secured it.
He returned to his stone house, clutching the grass mysteriously, and closed the door behind him.
Staring at the Transformation Grass in his hand, he wondered, “Shaman Yue, how should I get this grass to you?”
“I…” Mi Yue glanced at Xing Chi, whose face was deathly pale, and hesitated to leave his side.
System: [Host, as long as the recipient sincerely wishes it, items can be transmitted to you through mental energy.]
Wait, that was possible???
After relaying this to Xiu Ka, sure enough, she soon received several ginseng-like stalks of Transformation Grass.
Xing Chi was currently unconscious, so getting him to ingest the grass was another challenge.
After some deliberation, Mi Yue opted for the simplest and most straightforward solution, she juiced all the Transformation Grass in a blender and forced it down Xing Chi’s throat.
Though a fair amount spilled, most of it was successfully consumed.
With the Transformation Grass now in Xing Chi’s system, Mi Yue felt a temporary sense of relief.
As long as Xing Chi didn’t revert to his beast form in the short term, she could take him to the hospital for treatment.
Exhaling deeply, Mi Yue ignored the mess on the bed and helped Xing Chi up, using all her strength to carry him to the car before driving to the hospital.
Upon arrival, she bypassed registration and didn’t call for a doctor. Instead, she exercised her privilege as an investor and went straight to the hospital director.
Xing Chi’s situation was far too unusual, he was undocumented, without any form of ID. If she had contacted other doctors, there would inevitably be procedures to verify his identity.
Moreover, payment and other formalities would require identification. Only by going directly to the director could she bypass these steps.
The director hurried over, bringing along a few young and strong doctors who carried a stretcher. They lifted Xing Chi onto it and swiftly moved him onto a hospital bed.
Before leaving the house, Mi Yue had dressed Xing Chi in some clothes, but now those clothes were completely soaked in blood, with droplets still falling and staining the hospital sheets.
Seeing this, the director frowned. He lifted the clothes to reveal Xing Chi’s wounds, clearly, they were claw marks from a wild beast.
What kind of beast could leave such horrifying injuries?
Just how massive and ferocious must this creature have been?
“President Mi, the patient’s wounds are too deep. He needs surgical sutures…”
While diagnosing Xing Chi’s injuries, the dean suggested the necessary treatment. Mi Yue listened, her brow furrowing tightly. Those males had truly come with the intent to kill.
“Director, I’m counting on you. You must save him.”
“President Mi, don’t worry. As doctors, saving lives is our duty. I will do everything in my power to keep him alive.”
Only after the dean’s reassurance did Mi Yue relax slightly.
Xing Chi’s condition was critical, so the dean wasted no time. He immediately arranged for the operating room to be prepared and took charge of the surgery himself.
While waiting, the director hesitated but eventually made a phone call.
“President Xiangyang, Miss Mi, she…”
Meanwhile, in a spacious, brightly lit office building.
A young man in a tailored suit sat calmly across from a middle-aged man, negotiating a deal.
His tone was gentle, yet he methodically pushed the other party to lower their bottom line again and again.
The middle-aged man wiped nonexistent sweat from his forehead, forcing a bitter smile. “President Xiangyang, you have to leave us some room to breathe. The lowest I can go is one more point.”
Li Xiangyang said nothing more, his slender fingers tapping lightly on the desk. The room fell into silence, the air growing tense.
About fifteen minutes later, a phone ringtone broke the stillness.
Li Xiangyang glanced at the screen and immediately straightened up, answering with a concerned expression.
The middle-aged man was astonished to see the usually unshakable man’s demeanor shift so drastically.
“President Xiangyang…”
“President Chen, let’s settle on the three points we discussed. You can go sign the contract with the project manager. I have urgent matters to attend to and won’t be able to stay.”
President Chen looked as if he’d been struck by a stroke of luck, utterly stunned. By the time he turned back, Li Xiangyang had already vanished from the office.
When Mi Yue saw Li Xiangyang standing outside the hospital room, she was taken aback.
“Brother Xiangyang, why are you here?”
“The director said you were at the hospital. I was worried and came to check. Are you feeling unwell? Or were you injured?”
Meeting his concerned gaze, Mi Yue shook her head. “I’m fine. It’s not me who’s hurt.”
As she spoke, her eyes drifted toward Xing Chi, still unconscious on the hospital bed, his face deathly pale as nurses tended to his bloodied wounds.
Li Xiangyang followed her gaze and stiffened slightly at the sight of Xing Chi, his brown pupils contracting.
“What happened to him?”
“How did he get so badly injured? Were you with him just now?”
His expression darkened as he carefully inspected Mi Yue again, ensuring she truly wasn’t hurt before relaxing slightly.
“His wounds were caused by a wild beast. Just what exactly happened?”
Mi Yue was worried about arousing suspicion, so she quickly came up with an excuse. “We went to the wildlife reserve to see the animals. Along the way, Xing Chi got out of the car to observe a tiger up close, but unexpectedly startled it…”
At this point, her eyes grew slightly red, and her nose tingled with emotion.
She and Xing Chi had only known each other for a month, yet he had been willing to risk his life to protect her. How could she not be moved?
