- Billionaire’s Journey into the Beast World, Suitors Compete to Be Fed by Her!
- Chapter 20 - The Battlefield—Mi Yue! Break Up with Him, I Don’t Approve of You Two Together!
“Is he the male you like?”
Mi Yue, shocked!!!!
The sudden sound of Xing Chi’s voice nearly made her hair stand on end.
She turned around in fright, trembling like a startled little rabbit.
To make matters worse, he was shirtless, with only her pink strawberry-patterned towel wrapped around his waist. The little bear design on the towel conveniently covered his lower half.
“Miss, who is this?” Li Xiangyang raised an eyebrow, his cold gaze piercing even through his gold-rimmed glasses.
“He… he’s…” Mi Yue stammered, unsure how to introduce him.
A wicked smile curled at the corner of Xing Chi’s lips as he stepped forward, wrapping an arm around Mi Yue’s shoulders and pulling her into his embrace.
“I’m her mate!”
“Mate? What kind of mate?” Li Xiangyang closed his eyes briefly, suppressing his temper.
“The kind who-”
Mi Yue, sensing danger, quickly clamped a hand over his mouth. “Shut up, you.”
Though Xing Chi’s words were cut off, Li Xiangyang could guess they weren’t exactly proper.
For this man to speak so shamelessly right in front of him, it was clear he didn’t respect Mi Yue much in their daily lives.
Li Xiangyang’s face darkened like ink as he reached out and grabbed Mi Yue’s arm. “Mi Yue, break up with him! I don’t approve of you two being together!”
“W-we’re not-”
The arm around her shoulders slid upward, Xing Chi’s hand now encircling her neck as his pale pink lips brushed against her ear in a whisper.
Mi Yue wanted to push him away, but the system chimed in with a warning.
[Warning: Feeding target Xing Chi shows signs of darkening. Current darkening value: 20%. Host is advised to pacify him immediately.]
[System suggestion: Host should not push Xing Chi away. Otherwise, darkening value will increase by 50%. If darkening value reaches 70%, 70% of host’s accumulated points will be revoked.]
Mi Yue: This is getting harder and harder. The system’s rules are becoming stricter.
So, despite feeling Li Xiangyang’s sharp gaze slicing into her like a thousand knives, she resisted the urge to shove Xing Chi’s face away.
Not being rejected by his little female improved Xing Chi’s mood considerably.
“Yue, you’re my mate. We’re the closest. I don’t want to see him in our home.”
“Yue, you don’t want anyone disturbing our time alone together, do you?”
“Or… do you like being watched?” His eyes flicked challengingly toward the other male as he spoke.
He was asserting his dominance, making it clear this little female belonged to him.
Seeing that Mi Yue didn’t resist Xing Chi’s intimate gestures, Li Xiangyang’s heart sank to the depths.
His hand clenched at his side before he cast one last glance at those icy blue eyes and turned to leave.
“Brother Yang…” Mi Yue knew her silence had disappointed him. She wanted to chase after him and explain, but the man behind her held her arm in an iron grip.
“Don’t… don’t go!”
Then, the tall, ice-blue-haired male’s body went limp, collapsing toward the ground.
Though it was already autumn, the temperature was still high. Xing Chi’s body was cool, but being pressed against him wasn’t exactly comfortable.
Mi Yue gritted her teeth in frustration. “You’re seriously injured, yet you still had to come out and provoke people. You’re the worst!”
Grumbling under her breath, she dragged Xing Chi back to the bathroom like a dead dog and dumped him into the water.
The previously medicated wound had turned pale from soaking in water, so Mi Yue drained some of the bathwater, leaving just enough to submerge Xing Chi from his legs to his waist.
She then disinfected the wound with alcohol and applied more medicine, finally covering it with waterproof band-aids and wrapping it in gauze.
Xing Chi narrowed his long, slender eyelashes, looking down at the small female buried against his chest, her hands wrapped in bandages.
He didn’t know what those strange things she was holding were, but he guessed they must be for treating injuries.
His heart softened. From the moment he was born until now, no one had ever cared for him or tended to his wounds. Minor injuries he ignored, and even severe ones he left untreated, if he survived, he lived on; if not, his pitiful life would simply end.
But this little female, he would never let her go.
Worried that Xing Chi might develop a fever in the middle of the night, Mi Yue didn’t return to the bedroom. Instead, she brought a small stool and sat by the bathtub, keeping a close eye on him.
Sure enough, by midnight, his fever spiked. She quickly fed him antipyretics and anti-inflammatory medicine, only returning to the bedroom to sleep once his condition stabilized, her head heavy and her steps unsteady.
The next day, Mi Yue was still curled up in bed, lost in sweet dreams, when the bedroom door was knocked on, followed by the sound of the handle rattling.
“Mmm~” So noisy.
Mi Yue rolled over, trying to go back to sleep, but the next second, she felt weightless as her entire body was lifted into the air.
“Ah~, what are you doing?”
She opened her eyes to meet a strikingly handsome face and a pair of deep, ocean-like eyes.
Xing Chi tilted his chin up, stating matter-of-factly, “I’m hungry.”
“If you’re hungry, then eat. Don’t you have fish in your storage bag?” Mi Yue grumbled.
“There’s no fish left in the storage bag. And are you sure you want me to go hunting outside by myself?”
He had just looked out the window and noticed that this place seemed very different from the continent he lived in. There were many rectangular things moving around, tall structures everywhere, and barely any trees in sight. The air wasn’t great either, and most importantly, he couldn’t see any lakes or oceans nearby.
Faced with this unfamiliar environment, he felt wary, but seeing how at ease the little female was here eased his mind slightly, though he still had many questions.
Hearing Xing Chi’s reminder, Mi Yue’s drowsiness vanished instantly.
“No, no, no! Tell me what you want to eat, and I’ll get it for you. You absolutely cannot go outside.”
Mi Yue rushed to the living room and dug out two pieces of bread from the snack cabinet, carefully tearing open the packaging.
“Here, this is bread, it’s really tasty. Try it.”
Xing Chi took a skeptical bite, then curled his lips. “The flavor isn’t bad, but I don’t like it.”
“I want to eat seal.”
“No way, I can’t get that.” Are you kidding? That’s a protected animal!
“Fine, then I’ll have dolphin,” Xing Chi said, his face full of disdain.
Mi Yue gritted her teeth. “No. Pick something else.”
“Sea dog. Sea lion.”
“Pick. Something. Else.”
She was exhausted. Can’t we just eat something that won’t land me in jail?
Xing Chi lost his patience. He irritably ran a hand through his ice-blue hair.
“Nothing’s acceptable. I’ll just go catch something myself.” With that, he headed for the front door.
Mi Yue couldn’t let him leave. Desperate, she blurted out, “Tuna, turbot, lobster, abalone, oysters, king crab… which one do you want?”
Xing Chi’s threat to go hunting had just been to scare her. Now that he had a menu to choose from, he decided to compromise.
“Bring me some of each.”
Mi Yue: “…”
So, Mi Yue had no choice but to call a seafood-specialty restaurant, ordering every dish on the menu and specifying that they all needed to be extra-large portions.
Since it was still early and the restaurant wasn’t open yet, she even went the extra mile by offering a 2,000-yuan tip to ensure the manager would guarantee a timely delivery.
Xing Chi sat on the sofa with his legs crossed, his deep blue eyes gleaming with scrutiny. “Little female, you’re not being honest. You’re keeping secrets.”
“Go on, tell me… where is this place?”
