Becoming the Yandere Omega's Fluffy Pet - Chapter 58
Chapter 58
She said it as much to Ming Siyu as she did to herself.
It felt like dropping a massive burden from her heart. Liu Ran found that she could now speak to Ming Siyu with a sense of calm.
Yes, it was exactly as she said. She had never liked Ming Siyu; she had always hated Ming Siyu. That period when they were “good” was all an act. Regardless, Ming Siyu didn’t care if her affection was sincere; all Ming Siyu ever cared about was whether she was obedient.
Saying this made her feel a little better.
Ming Siyu’s eyelashes fluttered slightly, and the corners of her mouth hooked up. “So, you don’t want to live comfortably anymore?”
“Because I realized that pleasing you is useless. I don’t understand you well enough to know exactly what kind of pleasing you want. Besides, you probably aren’t lacking people who want to flatter you.”
Ming Siyu remained uncharacteristically silent.
The hospital room fell into a deathly stillness. Liu Ran tucked the corners of the quilt around Ming Siyu, moving Ming Siyu’s hands from her chest to beneath the covers. Her hands were too cold from the IV drip. Ming Siyu not only had a fractured calf but also multiple abrasions across her body; the blue and red bruises against her snowy-white skin were a shocking sight.
“I’m going out for a bit.” Liu Ran stood up. The atmosphere in the room was far too heavy.
“Remember to come back. I have something to say to you.”
Ming Siyu’s gaze followed Liu Ran to the door. The moment the door closed, a flash of struggle crossed Ming Siyu’s eyes.
She pressed the call bell at the head of the bed and summoned a familiar doctor.
Liu Ran went to wash her face to clear her head. Part of her didn’t want to hear Ming Siyu speak, yet another part was faintly curious about what she would say. A call came in on her backup phone; she hurriedly dried her hands to answer it. Generally, only Auntie Chen or the Huaici Nursing Home would call this number.
Auntie Chen told her that an emergency had arisen with Bai Yu and they were preparing for a minor surgery. The surgery was scheduled for tomorrow morning. If she had time, it would be best for her to come to the hospital; in case of an accident during the operation, she would be there to make an immediate decision.
Liu Ran was extremely anxious upon hearing this and wanted to head over right away. Auntie Chen said it was too late and that arriving tomorrow morning wouldn’t be too late. If she really couldn’t sit still, then she should come over.
Returning to the hospital ward full of worry, she planned to leave for the nursing home as soon as Ming Siyu finished speaking. There were now two cups of water by Ming Siyu’s bed; one was more than half-finished, the other untouched.
Ming Siyu gestured for her to sit. “The nurse came just now and helped pour some water. Your lips are a bit dry; drink if you’re thirsty.”
The sudden concern made Liu Ran’s nose tingle. When Ming Siyu wasn’t spitting daggers and spoke normally, it was truly easy to sink into the magnetic pull of her voice.
Liu Ran was indeed thirsty. She took the cup and gulped it down in one go.
“What did you want to say to me?”
“Liu Ran,” Ming Siyu said in a low voice, “The day you left, I went to see He Qiange. She told me not to push you too hard. If I give you a bit more freedom and don’t interfere with your social life, would you go back to being the way you were with me before? I think… things were quite good between us back then.”
Liu Ran’s pupils vibrated.
She hadn’t expected Ming Siyu to actually say these things to her.
It sounded like… a plea to stay.
Thinking of Ming Siyu coldly saying “a pet only needs to obey,” her heart sank again. What Ming Siyu couldn’t let go of wasn’t her, but a compliant, satisfying, furry pet.
Ming Siyu read the answer in her silence.
“And the company? You won’t use public office for private revenge and deliberately sabotage things at the company, will you?”
Liu Ran lowered her eyes, her finger unconsciously rubbing the cup. “I’m not that base.”
Secretary Lin and the others were all very good to her; she didn’t want to bring negative consequences upon them as well.
But she truly didn’t want to work at Ming Siyu’s company anymore. If she really decided to run away with Bai Yu, it was impossible to go to work while on the run.
“That’s hard to say.”
Liu Ran didn’t bother to argue with her. “Think what you want.”
When people aren’t on the same page, even half a sentence is too much. Liu Ran wanted to leave. Ming Siyu spoke a few weak sentences to her, but it was all idle chatter; not a single word was important.
Just as she stood up, a nurse pushed the door open to administer medication to Ming Siyu.
“I need a family member to accompany and wait for half an hour. If any allergic redness, swelling, or other discomfort occurs, call the doctor immediately.”
Liu Ran thought to herself: What kind of “family member” am I? She tried to leave but was stopped by the nurse.
Liu Ran pointed to the bell by Ming Siyu’s bed. “She can press the bell herself if she feels unwell.”
The face behind the nurse’s mask was exceptionally stern. “Member of the family, a drug allergy is no joke. For instance, one allergic reaction is suffocation. Do you expect a patient who is suffocating to the point of fainting to press the bell for help themselves?”
Liu Ran had no choice but to sit back down. Something felt off. Ming Siyu was in an SVIP ward, and this hospital treated her with the utmost importance; they should be dying to keep her under 24-hour surveillance. Yet now, they required a “family member” to observe for allergic reactions when they could easily have medical staff do it. If she hadn’t come, would Ming Siyu just have been left to fate alone on the hospital bed?
Maybe they were short-handed at night, so they let family members handle what they could.
It was only half an hour anyway; it wouldn’t hurt to wait.
Ming Siyu sneered. “Your heart is truly cruel enough that you aren’t even willing to stay with me. Was it also an act that night you had acute gastroenteritis, holding me while crying and kissing me? Your acting is quite good then. Have you considered joining the acting department of the Ming Group’s entertainment branch?”
“Thanks, but no thanks.” Liu Ran turned her head to look at the rain outside the window.
Ming Siyu followed her gaze outside and said softly, “The day Jian Huaici fell into the well, the rain was about as heavy as it is today. You were afraid I’d be cold, so you took off your coat for me to wear, not even caring that your ears were exposed. Liu Ran, was that an act too?”
Liu Ran pursed her lips and said nothing. Her thoughts, however, followed Ming Siyu’s words back to that night of torrential rain and lightning. That was the first night Ming Siyu had shown vulnerability and insecurity to her. She similarly wanted to ask: when Ming Siyu uncertainly said, “I might not be able to pay you back,” was she also merely treating her as a little pet?
Time passed minute by minute. Ming Siyu talked to her sporadically, her voice becoming increasingly strained and powerless.
“Liu Ran, shall we try? If I release my pheromones now, will you respond to me with a blushing face and a racing heart…”
The talk was becoming more and more ridiculous. What did physiological reactions prove? Once an S-class Omega’s pheromones were released, any Alpha pulled off the street would have over a 95% probability of reacting.
“Aren’t you tired? If you’re tired, sleep. Talk less.”
Checking the time, it had been about half an hour. Liu Ran stood up again to leave. She stood up too fast; her breathing became labored, and her already aching head spun for a moment.
“Liu Ran, do you think I’m as stupid as you? Having given you one chance to run, do you think I’d give you a second?” Ming Siyu’s ghostly voice came from behind. “Did you think I couldn’t see that you wanted to leave?”
Liu Ran staggered. Her legs suddenly went limp and stopped following her commands. Her limbs felt like they had just been attached and she hadn’t learned to use them yet. She couldn’t steady herself against the wall and couldn’t stand straight. With a “thud,” she knelt on the floor, her eyes widening in fury as she turned to look at the woman sitting on the bed.
Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted the cup she had used. That cup of water…
Liu Ran looked at Ming Siyu in disbelief. She never dreamed that Ming Siyu would actually resort to such a tactic as drugging her.
That half-hour wasn’t for observing if Ming Siyu was allergic to medicine at all. It was a conspiracy between Ming Siyu and the hospital, a low-handed way to trap her in the ward and wait for the drugs to take effect. No wonder those doctors, who usually wanted to surround Ming Siyu and observe her with a magnifying glass, suddenly became “hands-off” tonight.
She should have trusted her intuition and left the moment things felt strange.
And worrying about Ming Siyu’s allergies? Since when was that her concern? Why didn’t Ming Siyu just have an allergic reaction and suffocate to death?!
Her mother was still in the hospital! She was having surgery tomorrow!
“Ming Siyu! You crazy!”
Before she could finish, Liu Ran lost consciousness and fainted.
Ming Siyu looked down at the unconscious Liu Ran on the floor. Liu Ran was nearly 1.8 meters tall, lying in a long stretch on the floor, the anger from before her blackout still etched between her brows.
Her hat had fallen off, revealing the wolf ears she hadn’t been able to touch for a long time.
Ming Siyu really wanted to go over and play with the wolf ears properly, but she truly had no strength left. Just contending with Liu Ran for that half-hour while waiting for the drug to kick in had exhausted nearly all of her energy.
Liu Ran was so much better when she was asleep—quiet, looking gentle and harmless. She wouldn’t pierce her with ugly words, nor look at her with resentful, distant eyes. Every time she locked eyes with Liu Ran, the expression Liu Ran gave her hurt worse than being stabbed.
Ming Siyu couldn’t even feel the pain from her fractured bone. Liu Ran alone was enough to make her ache.
Throughout her life, there was nothing she wanted that she couldn’t get. There weren’t many relationships she needed to maintain, and she believed she handled those well enough. Regarding other relationships she didn’t care about, she was even more indifferent, not caring at all how others saw her. She was used to receiving attention and used to actively exerting influence without ever being disrupted. Like a butterfly passing through a storm, her wings stirred the airflow without the storm interfering with her forward direction.
Ming Siyu never imagined the day would come when she would be so affected by a single person. She knew what she was doing was wrong; she should excise Liu Ran, stop worrying about how Liu Ran saw her in return.
She should treat Liu Ran as an ordinary toy—cut the Gordian knot, strike when she should strike, kill when she should kill. The more Liu Ran suffered, the happier she should be.
Liu Ran made her hesitant and cautious, making her feel unlike herself. She had absolutely no reason to let this terrible state continue.
She gazed deeply at Liu Ran for a long while until she barely had the strength to remain sitting.
“I said, until the day I die, you will always be mine…”
When Liu Ran woke up again, the view before her was a blurry gray. It took her thirty seconds to recognize it as a ceiling.
It felt as if someone had struck the back of her head with an iron hammer. Even though she was awake, her mind was sluggish; she was in a daze, and every thought came slowly, as if her brain were rusted.
Her throat was parched and burning; the skin inside her mouth was painfully dry and itchy, making her want to bite down hard with her teeth—only biting until it broke and bled could stop that miserable sensation. Her hands and feet were completely powerless, soft as if the tendons had been removed, both numb and wooden. She was so hungry she felt faint.
By the dim light, Liu Ran slowly realized that where she was currently lying was her room at Ming Siyu’s house.
Ming Siyu’s house.
Ming Siyu.
She had been coaxed and tricked into a blackout by Ming Siyu…
At that moment, the door pushed open. Ming Siyu entered in a wheelchair and turned the lights up a bit. When they saw each other’s faces, both were stunned.
Liu Ran asked with a tremble, “What time is it?”
The curtains were drawn, letting in no natural light. Based solely on the room’s lighting, it was impossible to tell if it was day or night.
She habitually reached for her phone on the nightstand, only to realize she was tied down. No matter how she struggled, she couldn’t move. Moreover, the more force she used, the tighter the restraints on her hands and feet became. She had become a fish with no room for resistance; the bed was her chopping block, and she could only be slaughtered at will.
Bai Yu. Bai Yu’s surgery…
The anger and despair in her heart crashed and bit like a wild beast, tearing her until she was bloody. Liu Ran lifted her head and screamed at Ming Siyu, “Let me go! Ming Siyu, you lunatic! Let me go!”
The corner of Ming Siyu’s mouth twitched, and the smile she had forced out showed signs of cracking.
“Don’t waste your energy. You haven’t had water and your throat is dry; screaming will easily damage your vocal cords.”
“Let me go!”
Liu Ran turned a deaf ear to Ming Siyu’s warning. Her mind was filled only with Bai Yu’s surgery. What time was it? Had Bai Yu’s surgery started or not? Was it going smoothly? It had been agreed that she would accompany her for the surgery. If she didn’t show up, would Auntie Chen worry?
Ming Siyu had already indirectly destroyed her mother; now was she even going to strip away the chance to accompany her mother through surgery? If something went wrong with Bai Yu’s operation, she wouldn’t even see her mother one last time!
Was Ming Siyu even human?!
“I want to leave! Let me go, let me go, let me go! Ming Siyu, what do you want? What did I do to you for you to treat me like this? This is illegal imprisonment! Why aren’t you being arrested and sent to jail?! Do you think I’ll listen to you now? Then you are dead wrong! I will never, ever listen to you again!”
She shouted with so much force that, just as Ming Siyu said, her throat felt like it was being scraped by knives. This was followed by the sweet, metallic taste of blood, and she began to cough.
Ming Siyu acted as if she hadn’t heard a thing, sitting by the bed like a silent statue.
Only Liu Ran’s head could move. She began frantically banging her head against the headboard, twisting her body desperately, crying out through sobs: “You just want people to submit to you. There are so many people willing to submit to you, why don’t you go deal with them? Why find me? Is it because my disobedience makes you lose face? Because your desire for conquest is frustrated? Ming Siyu, do I owe you something? Does my whole family owe you?”
She really wanted to dig open Ming Siyu’s body to see what kind of heart and soul was inside. The heavy rain, the flight delays… every single thing was a warning to her. She had ignored them and insisted on coming to see Ming Siyu, delivering herself up to be tied up.
“Ming Siyu, I hate you.”
Liu Ran choked up.
She never expected that the words she would say before “I love you” would be “I hate you.”
She had once loved Ming Siyu so purely. She had even been willing to set aside her pride and call out “Master,” the name she was least willing to use, just to make Ming Siyu happy. She had even been tempted to hand over everything she was, to have no more secrets…
Had she known this day would come, she should have left Ming Siyu to die in that hospital occupied by gangs.
Ming Siyu gripped the wheelchair armrests tightly. While Liu Ran was still unconscious, she had anticipated that Liu Ran would go mad upon waking, that she would spit out words she never wanted to hear in her life.
She no longer had the strength to care why Liu Ran had become so unyielding or because of whom; she just wanted Liu Ran to stay at home honestly. As long as Liu Ran was by her side, no matter the method, she didn’t care.
She wished Liu Ran wouldn’t wake up. To just stay quiet with eyes closed, as if sleeping by her pillow.
But she also knew that was impossible. Rather than letting Liu Ran sleep like a vegetable while she agonized in hesitation, it was better to listen to how Liu Ran cursed her, thereby strengthening her resolve to keep Liu Ran tied up.
Ming Siyu moved the wheelchair closer to the bed, took a pillow to prop up the back of Liu Ran’s head, and said stiffly, “Yes, you owe me. It cost me twenty-five million to buy you.”
“I’ll pay you back! And those cars, the house, the jewelry… I’ll return all of it to you!”
“I don’t need it.” Ming Siyu’s face was ashen. “Rest. Even if someone died, I wouldn’t let you out.”
Ming Siyu wanted to emphasize that she wouldn’t release Liu Ran so that Liu Ran would stop her futile, screaming struggle. But when those words hit Liu Ran’s ears, she immediately associated them with Bai Yu. She was already worried about the risks of Bai Yu’s surgery; now she couldn’t help but think about what would happen if something really happened to Bai Yu during the operation.
Her venomous gaze condensed into knives, filled with pure hatred. Ming Siyu bit her lip, refusing to look into Liu Ran’s eyes. If looks could kill, she probably would have died hundreds of times by now.
When she dragged Liu Ran back from the hospital and tied her to the bed, Ming Siyu thought that now Liu Ran would have no choice but to listen to her. Now, however, her heart was tight with hollowness. She felt like she was doing a useless task; the tighter she tried to grasp something, the faster it slipped away. Liu Ran had become water and sand between her fingers.
After propping up the pillow, Ming Siyu habitually helped tidy the stray hairs by Liu Ran’s face. Liu Ran was so angry she couldn’t think straight; anything that could retaliate against Ming Siyu, she would do at this moment. Without hesitation, she turned her head and bit down on Ming Siyu’s wrist.
This time she didn’t hold back at all. Her sharp canines easily pierced Ming Siyu’s wrist; bright red blood flowed down the snowy-white skin, sliding along Liu Ran’s lips. She once again tasted what Ming Siyu’s blood was like—it was worse than the last time, causing her to choke and weep uncontrollably.
Ming Siyu tried to pull her hand back in pain, but her strength was nothing compared to Liu Ran’s. She clearly felt her flesh being torn, as if the meat were being bitten right off the bone.
Cold sweat broke out instantly. Ming Siyu’s entire arm trembled. She used her other hand to squeeze Liu Ran’s throat. Perhaps she couldn’t bear to do it, or perhaps she truly had no strength; in the end, her hand only loosely gripped Liu Ran’s neck.
Liu Ran refused to let go, mumbling her terms: “Let me go, and I’ll let go of you.”
Ming Siyu heard her clearly, her brow furrowing. “Impossible.”
Forget this piece of flesh—even if she lost the whole arm, she wouldn’t let Liu Ran go.
After a stalemate, Liu Ran truly ran out of options. What would biting a piece of flesh off Ming Siyu actually do? She still couldn’t leave this bed, and it would only make Ming Siyu angrier. Besides, having a mouthful of human flesh felt wrong no matter how she thought about it.
She let go. Ming Siyu withdrew her hand, shaking with pain. She said coldly, “Liu Ran, I see you are just looking for death.”
Liu Ran looked up at the ceiling. Her own blood and Ming Siyu’s blood were mixed together, the scent of gore rushing to her head. She breathed in large gulps, her voice ragged and broken, her eyes dull as she murmured: “I’m sorry, I was wrong. It’s all my fault. I won’t run anymore. I’ll be your little wolf. I’ll be good. If you tell me to go east, I’ll never go west… I was really wrong.
I shouldn’t have met Zhu Xinghan, I shouldn’t have run to City B alone… I beg you, can you please unbind me from the bed? I have something to do, just for one day. I promise I’ll come back as soon as I’m done…”
“President Ming, Master, I beg of you. Your little wolf is begging you…”
Ming Siyu had never seen Liu Ran break down like this. What was Liu Ran so desperate to do? Who was she going to see? Who could make her lose control to this extent?
Liu Ran’s expression of desperate ferocity made Ming Siyu flinch slightly.
Immediately, the piercing pain in her wrist reminded her: if she let Liu Ran go this time, it wouldn’t be easy to catch her back again. Wolves bite and resist. Liu Ran’s constant obedience had simply made her lower her guard.
She hardened her heart. “Don’t even think about it.”
Liu Ran closed her eyes. There was a smear of blood on her cheek, looking like a crime scene; tears washed out two small, light-colored streams.
After this commotion, Ming Siyu had forgotten her original intention for coming to see Liu Ran. she had wanted to take advantage of Liu Ran being unable to move to have a good talk—to talk things out if possible, and keep her tied if not. The blood flowing from her wrist made her dizzy. Ming Siyu shakily picked up her phone and called the doctor to come over. The flesh had almost been bitten off; stitches were certainly unavoidable.
After gritting her teeth and explaining the situation to the doctor, she looked up and saw Liu Ran trying to wrench her hands out of the restraint buckles. She had specifically bought reinforced restraints that looked like handcuffs; the more one struggled, the tighter they gripped. They were incredibly sturdy; it was almost impossible to break free on one’s own. She was determined to keep Liu Ran by her side.
Liu Ran was still trying. Her face was expressionless, her eyes full of ruthlessness and resolve.
Her hands were turning purple from the pressure; the edges of the handcuffs had scraped the skin of her hands, and thin lines of blood stained the silver metal. Ming Siyu suddenly recalled the first time she had seen Liu Ran in the basement—that scene was so similar to this one. Except then, she had unlocked the chains for Liu Ran and brought her home. Now, she had personally put the handcuffs back on Liu Ran, and Liu Ran was fighting with everything she had to escape.
Ming Siyu’s face was ashen. “If you keep this up, your hands will break!”
Liu Ran treated the words as wind past her ears. She continued to struggle as if she couldn’t feel the pain.
A thought appeared in Ming Siyu’s mind: Liu Ran wanted to break her own hands. She would break her hands just to run.
The fact that “Liu Ran wanted to run” overshadowed the reason why she was doing it. Ming Siyu ignored her arm, which was still bleeding profusely, and lunged forward to grab Liu Ran. “You are not allowed to go. I don’t permit you to leave…”
It was no use. She couldn’t win the struggle.
Click. A split second before Liu Ran snapped her own hands to break free from the handcuffs, Ming Siyu pressed the unlock button.
