Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 41
“Sister Ming, let me help you.”
Liang Ruojing was in a frantic state. Her mouth was wide open, and she had been gulping down bathwater for several seconds.
No one would have expected someone to barge in while they were bathing—especially not the very person Liang Ruojing had just been daydreaming about and imagining an exchange of pheromones with.
Caught in this situation, Liang Ruojing didn’t know how to react.
Ming Tanqing stood with her arms crossed, her gaze sharp enough to cut: “Why didn’t you come?”
Liang Ruojing tried to reach for her bathrobe but couldn’t get to it. She even forgot to turn off the water as she hurriedly turned her back.
It was too late.
Ming Tanqing had already seen everything.
As an Alpha, she clearly didn’t skip her workouts. Her waist and abdominal muscles were tight and supple, with water droplets sliding down like shimmering diamonds. Above were her slender shoulder blades; below was a narrow waist, followed by a firm, pert curve and long, straight legs.
Bathed in that gaze, Liang Ruojing’s scalp felt numb. “Sister Ming, can we talk about this in a little while?”
Having regained the upper hand, Ming Tanqing asked leisurely, “I’m not allowed to look?”
She had originally wanted to cite the contract, mentioning the clause that stated Alphas must not refuse any conditions set by Omegas and so on. But on second thought, she let it go.
Miss Liang was quite stiff-headed. She didn’t want to cause another scene where Liang insisted on distancing herself in front of outsiders, which was only annoying.
Ming Tanqing watched as the tips of the Alpha’s ears turned from pink to a deep red. Inside the bathroom, the minty fragrance slowly took on a restless heat.
Ming Tanqing suddenly understood. No wonder the Alpha’s pheromones were so thick just now. It turned out she was—
Ming Tanqing paused for a heartbeat. “Finish your bath. I’ll wait outside.”
With that, she retreated.
Liang Ruojing nodded silently. The bathroom was humid and stifling; the scents of lily and mint wine blended together as the spring-like heat rose, hooking one’s desires. Unable to resist the soul’s primal attraction, Liang Ruojing bit her lip, savoring the increasingly rich lily fragrance.
The water flowed down again, washing away a patch of stickiness.
Ming Tanqing waited outside.
When Liang Ruojing finally emerged, Ming couldn’t help but glance at the clock to calculate the time. She pursed her lips, pretending as if nothing had happened.
Lacking any sense of social cues, Liang Ruojing sat down right next to Ming Tanqing. The Alpha’s pheromones were intense, continuously stimulating Ming’s senses. Perhaps it was psychological, but this time, the mint wine seemed to have a hint of sweetness.
Liang Ruojing looked around and, seeing no staff, asked, “Sister Ming, was there no one in the room when you arrived?”
Ming Tanqing replied, “Not only was there no one, but the door wasn’t even closed.”
Liang Ruojing checked her surroundings; nothing was missing. Her evening gown, necklace, and phone were all there. There was even an extra set of clothes for the banquet at the foot of the bed.
Huahua had sent a message.
Huahua: Sister Jing, they wouldn’t let me upstairs, so I entrusted the clothes to a waitress. She said you had agreed to it.
Liang Ruojing broke the silence: “Sister Ming, I didn’t stand you up.”
Ming Tanqing tilted her head up, intentionally avoiding the Alpha’s pitiful “puppy eyes.” “Is that so? Regardless, I wasn’t the one whose gland was feeling uncomfortable.”
Liang Ruojing moved closer, leaning against the Omega as she spoke. “I went, but you were chatting with another Alpha, and then someone spilled wine all over me. Seeing how happy you two seemed, I came back first to shower and change.”
Ming Tanqing said amusedly, “Where was I chatting happily with her?”
Liang Ruojing instinctively reached for her pocket. It was a pity she hadn’t brought that pheromone-neutralizing spray. She wasn’t going to hide it anymore—she was just petty. “Well, she’s even been to your house.”
The Alpha’s voice was muffled, sounding like an accusation.
Ming Tanqing was stunned, her eyes darkening slightly as she countered, “Xiao Jing, do you care about that a lot?”
Liang Ruojing met those pale grey-blue eyes once again. Those “peach blossom” eyes, eyes full of affection—why couldn’t they look only at her?
Sister Ming was so clever; she understood everything, yet she insisted on asking, forcing Liang Ruojing to admit it out loud. Despite knowing it was a trap, Liang Ruojing loved jumping into it. She was likely possessed; as long as it belonged to Ming Tanqing, Liang Ruojing wanted it all to herself.
“I care a lot,” Liang Ruojing stared fixedly at the Omega, her gaze laying everything bare. “She definitely likes you, and she was even releasing pheromones toward you.”
Ming Tanqing was silent for a few seconds. “So, your gland is uncomfortable?”
Liang Ruojing’s mouth opened and closed a few times before she helplessly admitted, “Yes.” One lie followed another. Now, her gland truly was starting to feel uncomfortable.
“I see.” Ming Tanqing stood up, saying no more. Her eyes swept over the scenery beneath the Alpha’s open bathrobe collar, and she turned her gaze away unnaturally. “Change your clothes first.”
Liang Ruojing turned her attention back to the dress. Visually, it looked fine. However, the accessories were unfamiliar. Liang didn’t know much about luxury brands and couldn’t identify the make of the earrings.
But Hua Hua was a bit slow-witted. Liang Ruojing knew her; she wasn’t clever enough to proactively help with styling to this extent. Having spent a lot of time with Tang Yuecen, Liang Ruojing had been infected by her caution. It was better not to wear them.
“Is there a problem with the clothes?” Ming Tanqing asked.
Liang Ruojing explained what had happened. Ming Tanqing listened seriously. “Caution is right. I’ll have Sister Qi bring a set over; she won’t be stopped.” After a moment’s thought, she added, “In the future, if you encounter something like this, you can come directly to me.”
Liang Ruojing pushed her luck: “Then Sister Ming, can I call you often?”
Ming Tanqing gave her a sharp look and reminded her coolly, “Know when to stop. I waited for you for half an hour. Do you know what the temperature is today?”
Qi Lin was efficient; in less than ten minutes, she delivered the third gown of the evening. She had also thoughtfully paired it with a full set of jewelry, all from YC’s high-end line.
But this gown—it was another backless design, even more revealing than the previous one. The Omega sat lazily with her face resting on her hand, her eyes bright with unmasked teasing. Recalling Sister Ming’s words from earlier, Liang Ruojing suspected this was a tiny bit of revenge.
The black fabric clung to her body, exposing a patch of cool, white skin on her back. A cold hand approached, starting from the fingertips and pressing fully against the Alpha’s spine. Liang Ruojing jolted, successfully catching the smile at the corner of Ming Tanqing’s lips in the mirror.
“Let’s go.” Ming Tanqing closed her hand, lingering on the warmth in her palm.
The banquet continued. Aside from Tang Yuecen, no one asked what Liang Ruojing had been doing for the past hour. She was pulled back to a table for idle chatter.
You Qian was still there, looking up with a smile, but she froze when she saw the earrings Liang Ruojing was wearing, a flash of surprise crossing her eyes.
After many rounds of drinks, the banquet finally began to end around 1 AM. Tang Yuecen had just finished dealing with a funeral in her hometown recently. Encountering old friends at the banquet, she became more emotional as they talked. After three hours of pouring out her life philosophies, she finally got herself dead drunk.
“A person only has one life! You must seize the opportunity, don’t regret it!” Tang Yuecen’s face was flush red; it was unclear if it was tears or wine hanging from the corners of her eyes.
On the surface, Liang Ruojing mocked her, but she actually took most of it to heart. She turned to the two assistants and said, “You two take Sister Tang back to the hotel and get some rest early yourselves.”
Xiao Xing, the sharper one, asked, “Sister Jing, what about you?”
Liang Ruojing waved her hand nonchalantly. “I’m fine on my own. I’ll stay here tonight. I don’t have a scene until tomorrow afternoon, we’ll talk then.”
She had already asked; Ming Tanqing wasn’t leaving tonight either. The presidential suite had a large bed with two pillows—the implication was clear.
Liang Ruojing walked with a light step. The VIP elevator went straight to the top floor. She pushed open the door after two light knocks; the scent of flowers and wine struck her soul, but the person wasn’t there.
As if by telepathy, Liang Ruojing received a message: “I’m at the observation deck.”
The observation deck was also on the top floor, covered by a hemispherical glass dome that offered a clear view of the starry sky. It was originally a recital hall, and a Steinway grand piano stood quietly in the center.
Ming Tanqing was sitting nearby, lightly swirling a glass of red wine. Her collarbone was bathed in the bright moonlight.
“Sister Ming.” As Liang Ruojing approached, she realized Ming Tanqing was slightly tipsy. Her pale skin was flushed, and when she looked up, her eyes were gentle—hooking one in like a light feather. She had already changed out of her gown into a thin slip dress; the light material stopped at her snowy white calves.
“Xiao Jing, you’re here.” Ming Tanqing raised her hand and poured a glass for Liang Ruojing. Since they were sleeping in the same room, someone had to stay sober. Liang Ruojing took it, only letting it touch her lips before setting the glass down.
She noticed the piano and pressed a single key. The tone was soft, the high notes clear—it was a rare, excellent instrument. A thought quietly emerged.
Liang Ruojing looked at Ming Tanqing. “Sister Ming, can I play? I’ll give it to you as an apology.”
Ming Tanqing’s eyes flickered, but she didn’t answer directly. “There are few rooms on the top floor. Aside from us and Xiuzhu, everyone else is downstairs.”
Liang Ruojing took a deep breath and sat on the piano bench. She hadn’t touched a piano in a long time. Back then, when she was being lectured by the ear by Su Jing and playing while angry, she never thought she would one day use it to please the person she loved.
Her long, slender fingers flew over the keys as quiet notes began to flow from her fingertips. Moonlight Sonata, First Movement. Gentle as water, fragile as the moon—it fit the current scenery perfectly. As she played, Liang Ruojing saw Ming Tanqing close her eyes, swaying gently to her music.
As the final note fell, Ming Tanqing looked up, staring at Liang Ruojing without moving. “It was very beautiful.”
Liang Ruojing felt her heart beating powerfully. Thump, thump, thump. It pushed her to say more. “Sister Ming, do you know how to play the piano?”
Ming Tanqing’s gaze lingered on her for a long time. Her blue eyes were noble, but in the next second, the young lady from a wealthy family shook her head. “No, I don’t understand it either. What was that you just played?”
“It’s ‘Moonlight’.” Liang Ruojing felt as happy as if she’d won the lottery. “Sister Ming, if you like it, shall I play another for you?”
Ming Tanqing nodded, her attention returning to the Alpha’s long fingers. Liang Ruojing played the first note, thought for a few seconds, and decisively switched to a second piece.
The notes that jumped out were much more lighthearted than before. The Alpha had clearly practiced hard; as she leaned over to play, she couldn’t help but steal glances at the Omega. Liang Ruojing was still wearing the backless dress Ming Tanqing had chosen for her, the black hem snaking across the floor. She was so immersed in the music that as her hands rose and fell, her shoulder blades looked like wings ready to take flight.
The scent of mint broke through the isolation patch, rippling around them.
The song ended. Liang Ruojing couldn’t hide her smile as she told Ming Tanqing, “That was Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1.” A world-renowned romantic piece. Like a brilliant galaxy of first love, pure and beautiful. Liang Ruojing only had the courage to play it because she was taking advantage of the fact that Ming Tanqing didn’t know it.
A look of appropriate confusion appeared on Ming Tanqing’s face. “Want to try?” Liang Ruojing stood up and let Ming Tanqing sit on the piano bench. The Omega raised her arm gracefully. She extended one index finger and pressed a key down hard.
It was the behavior of a textbook beginner. Liang Ruojing laughed. This clumsy Sister Ming was too cute. The Alpha leaned over, encircling the Omega. “Sister Ming, it has to be like this…”
Their hands overlapped. Liang Ruojing became serious, guiding Ming Tanqing’s hand to finish a short passage. After three lessons, Ming Tanqing lowered her head and played it fluently. Not a single note was wrong.
“Sister Ming! You’re so amazing!” Liang Ruojing crouched by the piano bench, the cold moonlight in her eyes turning into a passionate heat. She looked up at the Omega as if she were her whole world.
Ming Tanqing leaned down and, without any warning, pressed her lips against Liang Ruojing’s. The Omega’s lips were soft. Liang Ruojing was surprised for a moment, then slowly stood up and wrapped her arms around Ming Tanqing’s slender back.
The air was filled with the fragrance of flowers and the richness of red wine. Ming Tanqing must have drunk a lot tonight; otherwise, why would she take the initiative to kiss her? Liang Ruojing hadn’t drunk much, yet as she held the Omega, she gradually became tipsy from the kiss.
The person was like the moon; the emotion was like the sea.
Their lips and teeth became more and more deeply entwined. Liang Ruojing’s back, held by Ming Tanqing, was covered in a light sweat. In the midst of their passion, her elbow pressed against the piano keys, causing a thunderous crash that pulled them back to reality.
The people separated, but the pheromones were still blending. Their glands were burning; they were already in a state of arousal.
Ming Tanqing’s voice was raspy: “Go back to the room.”
She couldn’t maintain the facade of “mutual respect” for long. Liang Ruojing supported the weak-kneed Ming Tanqing back to the room. As soon as the door closed, the Alpha turned quickly, shielding the Omega’s back as she pressed her against the door to kiss her.
From the forehead to the collarbone, then from the hallway to the bed. The mint scent surged. Ming Tanqing’s breathing became ragged, and the lily scent spilled out, impatiently blending with the mint.
The satisfaction from the pheromones fed back into their bodies. The heat intensified, adding another flame to the ambiguous night.
Ming Tanqing lay on her back, dizzy from the kisses. Her peach blossom eyes were half-closed, her lips a shimmering pink. Her tongue pressed against her white teeth, with a hint of vivid red visible—she was breathtakingly beautiful.
Liang Ruojing felt the Omega’s changes. Just as she was about to kiss her again, Ming Tanqing pressed against her chest. “I’m going to shower…”
Ming Tanqing waited for a few seconds, but Liang Ruojing didn’t get up. Instead, the Alpha with flaxen hair pushed her luck, half-rising to loom completely over her. “Sister Ming.”
Liang Ruojing’s heart skipped a beat. A person only has one life. She stroked Ming Tanqing’s calf. The Alpha’s palm was burning hot as she lifted the skirt, passing the knee until her fingertips stopped at the upper thigh.
Plump and soft. It felt as if they would sink in with just a little pressure. Ming Tanqing’s slender waist trembled, and she instinctively pressed down on Liang Ruojing’s hand. “Liang Ruojing…”
“Sister Ming,” Liang Ruojing moved closer, gently nuzzling her shoulder. “Let me help you, okay?”
She was probably truly drunk. Inappropriately, the image of the Alpha playing the piano kept flashing in her mind. Long fingers, protruding tips.
Ming Tanqing closed her eyes. The fingers slid down.
