Becoming the Comfort Alpha for the Aloof Movie Queen - Chapter 34
It was just like having an affair.
Ming Tanqing had been out of the spotlight for two years. After her comeback, she accepted a cameo role in the film adaptation of Under the Green Mountain. As soon as the news broke, it spread through the industry like wildfire.
Upon hearing that she had arrived at Huafeng, a steady stream of greeting cards and invitations poured in; everyone wanted a meeting with her. According to the original plan, Ming Tanqing should have been busy with social engagements all day yesterday.
However, because of the young Alpha currently pressing down on her, the vivid redness of Ming Tanqing’s lips refused to fade. She had no choice but to have her assistant decline everyone on the grounds of “feeling unwell,” spending the entire day in the hotel.
She hadn’t expected Liang Ruojing to stay out all night. The schedule clearly showed she was supposed to finish work at 7:00 PM. Her phone wouldn’t go through either, causing Ming Tanqing to wait up until very late last night.
The Alpha looked lean, but in reality, she had muscle exactly where she should; she was tall and pressed down like a mountain, making it impossible for Ming Tanqing to break free. After Ming Tanqing finally managed to shimmy out a bit, a pair of hands—as if equipped with radar—reached over and gently pulled her back, clasping Ming Tanqing’s waist.
Taking an inch and wanting a mile, the Alpha’s head rubbed upward, comfortably pillowed against the Omega’s soft abdomen. The morning robe was thin, and Ming Tanqing felt the warm contact against her stomach. There were also a few drops of moisture. It seeped through the fabric onto her skin, spreading a patch of coolness.
Was Liang Ruojing crying?
Ming Tanqing struggled to push the Alpha’s hands aside and leaned forward slightly. Sure enough, she saw tears shimmering in the corners of Liang Ruojing’s eyes. The crystal light made her look exceptionally pitiful.
This was a rarity. In her memory, Liang Ruojing was sometimes flamboyant and unrestrained, and sometimes so stupid it was infuriating, but her character was always resilient. Even with the back-to-back shifts since joining the crew, she rarely complained of exhaustion. Something must have happened with the production team.
Ming Tanqing immediately called the assistant director, but unfortunately, the line was busy. She switched to sending a message to inquire.
While waiting for a reply, Ming Tanqing arranged Liang Ruojing on the bed to make her sleep more comfortably. The Alpha was still wearing a stiff white shirt and jeans. Those had to come off too.
Her slender, white fingers touched the buttons on the Alpha’s collar. Ming Tanqing’s gaze was focused as she unfastened them one by one. The Alpha’s beautiful body was completely revealed before her. The abdomen was flat, covered by a layer of beautiful, thin muscle, brimming with youthful vitality and passion.
She gave it a touch. When not tensed, it was soft.
Liang Ruojing seemed to sense something, letting out a soft moan in her sleep. The cool scent of mint grew increasingly intense. Ming Tanqing’s eyelashes trembled slightly; she took several deep breaths and simply yanked the quilt over to cover the disheveled Alpha.
With trembling hands, she dialed her manager’s number.
“Sister Qi? Please come to the hotel to help me take care of someone.”
Just then, the director of Under the Green Mountain sent her a message: “The opening ceremony is about to start. I’ll be there soon, please wait.”
Ming Tanqing glanced at Liang Ruojing, who was sleeping soundly behind her. She left a note, quickly changed her clothes, and left the hotel.
Liang Ruojing slept until 12:00 PM. Regarding the morning, her memory only stopped at the moment she saw Ming Tanqing and felt a surge of suppressed emotion and grievance. She had no recollection of what happened afterward.
On the bedside table, a note was pressed under a water glass. The handwriting was elegant and refined; Liang Ruojing recognized it as being from Sister Ming by the scent.
“I’m joining the set today. I found someone to take care of you. Sister Qi is a good person; if you need anything, look for her.”
Just as she finished reading, a tall, slender figure appeared before her. With phoenix eyes and short hair, the person looked indescribably capable and sharp. Liang Ruojing was startled and hurriedly covered her body with the quilt.
“You are Liang Ruojing?”
Qi Lin narrowed her eyes, evaluating the young actor before her. She was Ming Tanqing’s former manager, a thirty-five-year-old Beta and a legendary figure in the industry. Later, when Ming Tanqing stepped back from acting, she transitioned into being a producer, still turning out one hit after another.
Liang Ruojing had heard many stories about her legendary deeds from Tang Yuecen, so she felt nervous: “It’s me. Hello, Sister Qi. I’ve heard so much about you.”
Qi Lin smiled at her: “I heard Tanqing was hiding an Alpha in a golden cage, but I didn’t believe it until I saw it today.”
What are you saying!
Liang Ruojing’s face turned bright red. It was a pure “treatment” relationship—at most, she had a secret crush.
Seeing her like this, Qi Lin asked, “What, you don’t like Ming Tanqing?”
Liang Ruojing instinctively shook her head, then nodded. “I like her. Everyone loves Sister Ming.”
The smile in Qi Lin’s eyes didn’t fade as she pressed: “Do you love her?”
Liang Ruojing could tell now—this woman was a “smiling tiger” who was here to test her. Before Liang Ruojing could give an answer, Qi Lin suddenly gave an understanding smile and let the flustered Alpha off the hook.
“I won’t push you, lest you whisper pillow talk to Tanqing tonight and then I’m finished.”
Liang Ruojing felt like she was being roasted. No such thing exists!
Qi Lin interrupted any further explanation: “Get up quickly. Your assistant has called many times saying that this afternoon’s scene has been moved up.”
Right! She had to rush to film!
Only now did Liang Ruojing realize her clothes had been changed. She tugged at her pajama pants. The underwear was still the same pair. Relief.
“Sister Qi,” Liang Ruojing asked softly, “was it you who helped me change my clothes?”
Qi Lin shook her head with a look like she was watching a play. “It wasn’t me. It should have been Tanqing; that was her first time taking care of someone.”
Sister Ming?!!
Liang Ruojing’s brain overloaded. Just as she looked like she was about to faint, a voice drifted over lightly from beside her.
“Don’t be silly, it was the assistant.”
Qi Lin turned to leave, muttering to herself, “So Tanqing likes this kind of Alpha…”
Liang Ruojing wanted to cry but had no tears.
Liang Ruojing had planned to reshoot the scene from the early morning. However, the assistant director came over beaming, telling her that the shot from the early morning had passed.
Liang Ruojing was surprised. In her opinion, that morning’s state was the worst. The makeup and styling weren’t right, and her own condition wasn’t right either. Even the body double she was acting against had flubbed their lines.
The assistant director gave her a few pointers: “What we wanted was that exhaustion after staying up all night. Hunting Feud isn’t an idol film; you don’t need to look that good.”
The flash of inspiration from last night finally allowed her to catch a lead at this moment. Liang Ruojing wanted to ask more, but the lighting crew came over and hurriedly pulled her away.
At 3:00 PM, they had to change sets. Every crew was in intense preparation. Having stayed up all night, Liang Ruojing was resting in her trailer.
It was exceptionally noisy nearby today, and Liang Ruojing couldn’t sleep. Just then, Yu Youyou passed by, so she stopped her: “What’s happening? I just saw a lot of people heading that way.”
Yu Youyou replied excitedly, “Sister Jing doesn’t know? Ming Tanqing is on the set next door! We’re so lucky!”
So that was it. Liang Ruojing looked back and saw a dense crowd gathered at the end of her line of sight. Civilians and minor celebrities alike—everyone was there.
Everyone loved Ming Tanqing. The modern film and television industry had flourished for over forty years, and Ming Tanqing alone accounted for over twenty of them. Having entered the industry at a young age, she was an undisputed genius.
Yu Youyou was enthusiastic and wanted to invite Liang Ruojing to join the spectators. Since the day of the help at the bar, the relationship between the two had quickly become familiar. Though, most of the time, it was Yu Youyou’s solo enthusiasm.
“Sister Jing should go too! If we can just say a few words, it would be pure bliss.”
Liang Ruojing declined: “There are too many people, and I have a scene in a while.”
“Alright then,” Yu Youyou said with some regret, giving her a playful wink. “If I see her, I’ll definitely get an autograph for Sister Jing!”
Liang Ruojing smiled and thanked her. Her hand instinctively reached into her pocket, fumbling with the note she had brought out. Although it was nothing to be proud of… she saw her every day. They even kissed.
Liang Ruojing thought herself into a blush. She went back into the inner room of the trailer, but still couldn’t sleep; her mind was filled with what Qi Lin had said to her that morning. Qi Lin was Ming Tanqing’s manager; based on her reaction, she knew her and knew about their relationship. Did this mean other people also know about her relationship with Ming Tanqing?
Liang Ruojing rested her head on her hands, staring blankly at the ceiling of the trailer. She realized she knew very little about Ming Tanqing’s life.
Well, she actually knew a little. For example, Sister Ming had to drink tea when she woke up; she liked wearing soft-fabric clothes; she liked to curl into someone’s arms when sleeping; she was a picky eater and didn’t eat food with strong smells; her body wash was floral-scented; she was a bit grumpy in the morning…
Her waist was especially sensitive, and her gland was very tender. When she couldn’t take it anymore, she liked to call her full name. She got nervous when kissing, and her tongue and lips were very soft…
Sigh! Liang Ruojing only knew such a tiny bit!
Amidst her wild thoughts, someone knocked on the trailer door. It should be Huahua, bringing her an extra-strong iced Americano.
“Come in.”
Liang Ruojing heard someone walk through the trailer’s living room toward her. She was currently holding a tablet, scrolling through a “French Kissing Manual.” Huahua would think it was for filming, so she didn’t need to hide it from her.
“Thanks for the hard work!”
Liang Ruojing stood up, only to lock eyes with a pair of noble blue eyes. The visitor pulled down her mask. A rich fragrance of lilies filled the cramped space of the trailer.
“Precautions for French kissing?”
Ming Tanqing glanced at the words on the tablet, her eyes darkening. “Liang Ruojing, where did you find this kind of book?”
“Sister Ming! Why are you here!”
Liang Ruojing scrambled to switch screens on the tablet, hurriedly meeting the Omega’s gaze. Ming Tanqing was here with her—then what were all those people next door gathered to see?
“Sister Qi told me.”
Ming Tanqing bent her body slightly and stepped into the small bedroom. Liang Ruojing hurriedly made room for her.
The light inside the vehicle was dim. Ming Tanqing was wearing a fleece-lined white long dress today, and her long, straight legs were clad in black stockings that shimmered softly. Once she sat down, their legs were pressed together. Liang Ruojing caught a glimpse of a slender calf.
The Alpha’s heart rate quickened, and she immediately leaned back to give some space. Ming Tanqing didn’t notice the unspeakable thoughts in the person’s head. She had come here with a purpose.
There was a table next to the single bed, covered with things. Ming Tanqing flipped through Liang Ruojing’s script, browsing several pages seriously.
“I heard you were stuck for 22 takes yesterday?”
Liang Ruojing froze for a moment and nodded sheepishly.
“I’ve seen the first few takes you did—” Ming Tanqing’s tone dragged out, like a sword of judgment being held high. Meeting Liang Ruojing’s expectant gaze, she gave a soft laugh and let it fall: “It was indeed mediocre.”
“Sister Ming.” Liang Ruojing looked pitiful. “I’m just not used to Director Lin’s filming style; she hardly says anything.”
Ming Tanqing tapped her finger on the table, signaling Liang Ruojing to continue. It was strange; Liang Ruojing had always wanted to maintain her dignity in front of Ming Tanqing. But once she met those eyes like water, she couldn’t hide a single word; everything poured out.
“I have no idea what she wants…”
Ming Tanqing laughed softly, her gaze seemingly looking directly into Liang Ruojing’s heart. “Do you think Lin Xiuzhu is targeting you?”
Liang Ruojing lowered her head and didn’t speak. Even if she didn’t say it, Ming Tanqing knew what she was thinking.
Ming Tanqing was puzzled and asked, “Why would you think that?” She was somewhat familiar with Lin Xiuzhu’s personality—eccentric, but she had her own persistence regarding film. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have become an internationally renowned director.
Liang Ruojing finally looked up, her gaze somber. What else could it be? Because Lin Xiuzhu had pursued Ming Tanqing in university and failed. It had only been half a month for Liang Ruojing, yet she had entered the inner sanctum, not to mention sharing a bed and kissing.
Liang Ruojing had originally wanted to keep it in, but as soon as she met the Omega’s gaze, she confessed again. “Sister Ming, did Director Lin pursue you when you were in university?”
Ming Tanqing was stunned. She fell into a brief moment of thought.
Right at this moment, the trailer door was knocked on again. This time it really was Huahua. “Sister Jing! I bought the coffee!”
Liang Ruojing looked left and right, and in her desperation, she flipped open the quilt: “Sister Ming, hide for a bit. Huahua is a big mouth; if she knows, everyone will know.”
After saying that, ignoring Ming Tanqing’s daze, she pushed her directly under the covers.
“Mm!”
The bed was too small, and Ming Tanqing had to lie across Liang Ruojing’s lap. It was just like having an affair. Her body was completely hidden by Liang Ruojing, leaving only a pair of dangling legs; she couldn’t escape the Alpha’s pheromones at all.
Her face was pressed against the abdominal muscles she had seen by chance earlier that day. It was as if she could directly feel the youthful vitality under the thin shirt. Liang Ruojing blocked the front, not forgetting to use a throw pillow to hide the Omega’s legs.
Huahua came in and placed the iced Americano on the table. “Sister Jing, I’ve put it here—”
She suddenly shut up, smelling that familiar pheromone scent again. The sense of pressure was intense, and the floral fragrance was rich—it was clearly an Omega’s pheromones.
Liang Ruojing said calmly, “Okay, you can go. I want to sleep a bit more.”
The little assistant didn’t persist; she automatically got off the vehicle and even considerately closed the trailer door.
As soon as Huahua left, Ming Tanqing threw off the quilt. Her smooth black hair was mussed, and her face was flushed from the heat. She was no longer dignified and aloof, but instead indescribably cute.
Around Liang Ruojing, Ming Tanqing truly broke her rules frequently. The first marking, the first kiss, the first time helping someone change, and the first time being stuffed under a quilt like an affair.
Ming Tanqing frowned deeply, masking her body’s reaction. Her cool voice carried a hint of undetectable grievance: “Am I that shameful to be seen?”
On the other side, Huahua had walked a long way off, still shaken. Xiao Xing happened to pass by. “Did you deliver the coffee?” Seeing her expression wasn’t right, she asked, “What’s wrong?”
The poor assistant shook her head. “It’s nothing.”
She would defend this secret to the death. Sister Jing was having a “car shake” with an Omega on set.
