- Chapter 62 - Cherished Memory, Love You So Much
Waking up from a dream, Shi Xinyu felt the corners of her eyes were wet.
She sat up, feeling a little lost. She hadn’t been dreaming, so why did she feel sad?
The blanket lay quietly at the corner of the table, and Shi Xinyu vaguely felt that some kind of animal had been active there.
But there hadn’t been.
She didn’t know why the blanket was at the corner of the table.
The summer vacation had just begun, but Shi Xinyu couldn’t completely escape from studying. In addition to studying itself, she wanted to prove herself.
But this strange feeling was always with her. After washing up and eating breakfast, she subconsciously looked towards the corner of the desk, but it was still the familiar, unchanging sight.
What was wrong with her?
Shi Xinyu forced herself to finish the exercises, and the sense of dissonance became stronger, but nothing had seemingly changed.
Time flew by, and Shi Xinyu spent the summer vacation uneventfully. Ms. Shi only notified her just before the start of the new semester that the transfer procedures had been completed.
Shi Xinyu was confused.
Stepping into a completely unfamiliar classroom, after leaving the small town, facing a variety of classmates, she once again felt lost.
The small town had many bad aspects: patchy walls, aging facilities, and generally poor school education quality.
But it also had many good things: lush trees, a strong sense of community, and although her classmates didn’t interact much with her, they weren’t as aloof as they were now.
Shi Xinyu could only force herself to work hard. She had no goal; she seemed to be merely Ms. Shi’s puppet, acting out this pantomime in the direction her mother desired.
Returning home for the winter vacation.
There were no tall buildings to block the wind in the small town, and the wind seemed colder than in the city. Ms. Shi was always busy with work, so this New Year was still just Shi Xinyu and her grandmother.
Pushing open the room door, although only a few months had passed and her grandmother often cleaned the room, there was always a lingering scent of lost vitality.
Shi Xinyu put down her things and suddenly saw a note on the desk with somewhat childish handwriting.
She picked up the note and murmured, “Difficult pass after difficult pass, every pass is passed.” (A Chinese idiom meaning to overcome one difficulty after another).
Shi Xinyu’s fingertip traced the handwriting, and an inexplicable emotion suddenly surged in her heart. Who wanted to encourage her? It was definitely not Ms. Shi or her grandmother.
She clenched the note and hurried downstairs.
Her grandmother was preparing tonight’s dinner. Seeing Shi Xinyu, she took a piece of paper and wiped the slight sweat from her forehead.
“What’s wrong?”
“Grandma, who sent this paper?”
Shi Xinyu’s heart was pounding like a drum. She longed for an answer, yet feared it.
Her grandmother’s memory wasn’t very good. She thought for a moment before saying, “It was a little girl who brought it. She was young, and specifically asked for it to be given to you, so I kept it for you.”
Hearing that it was an unnamed little girl, Shi Xinyu suddenly felt a little disappointed. She was dejected for a while, then carefully put the paper away.
But from that day on, Shi Xinyu felt as if something had been overlooked in the depths of her memory, but whether the overlooked thing was a cat or a person, Shi Xinyu herself couldn’t tell.
In fact, ever since moving from the small town to the city, Shi Xinyu had become much quieter. She had restrained her edge, and her already few words became even less here.
The year of greatest pressure in high school, Shi Xinyu woke up startled from dreams countless times, tears sliding down her temples and wetting her pillow.
During class breaks, Shi Xinyu couldn’t help but stare into space. When she snapped out of it, the blank space on her textbook was already occupied by a drawing.
It was a strange yet familiar face. Due to the limitations of her drawing skills, it wasn’t very clear, only vaguely suggesting the person was very bright and cheerful.
But it was only a non-existent shadow.
…
Waking up startled from a dream again, this time there was a warm body beside Shi Xinyu. Staring blankly at the ceiling for a while, she slowly picked up her phone.
Three in the morning.
Shi Xinyu turned on her side and gently hugged Ying Miaomiao. Ying Miaomiao only lightly mumbled something half-asleep, which Shi Xinyu couldn’t hear clearly.
She buried her head in Ying Miaomiao’s neck, gently sniffing the scent unique to Ying Miaomiao.
“Stop messing around, go to sleep.”
Ying Miaomiao opened her eyes groggily, softly comforted her, and hugged Shi Xinyu back.
At eight in the morning, their biological clocks automatically woke them up. Shi Xinyu maintained yesterday’s position, and half her body was a little numb. She quietly and subtly moved around for a bit.
It was their wedding leave.
They could sleep wantonly until they woke up naturally in the morning.
Ying Miaomiao stretched in place and gently kissed Shi Xinyu’s cheek.
“Good morning.”
Her voice was especially sticky and warm.
Shi Xinyu was somewhat reserved. She gently turned her head and only rubbed Ying Miaomiao’s head, “Good morning. I haven’t brushed my teeth yet.”
“You naughty Shi Xinyu, are you giving me a hint?”
As she spoke, Ying Miaomiao nestled back into Shi Xinyu’s arms, and their playful teasing unknowingly changed in flavor again.
She hooked Shi Xinyu’s neck and lightly sucked on her lips. Shi Xinyu let her fool around like this.
Shi Xinyu’s eyelashes fluttered slightly. She narrowed her eyes, her hands vaguely supporting Ying Miaomiao. Her lips were always warm, carrying a sweet fragrance.
Soft and fluffy, yet moist.
Lips and tongues intertwined. Ying Miaomiao was like a puppy, passionately touching Shi Xinyu. Her sharp teeth occasionally brushed against her lips, a tingling sensation, not painful, but tormenting.
Shi Xinyu’s lust-filled eyes seemed to drip with tenderness. She gradually leaned in and deepened the kiss.
When her slightly cool lips touched Ying Miaomiao’s warmer lips, she always seemed to be infected by such passion. She sucked and demanded every corner.
Ying Miaomiao’s hands also wandered and drifted, one subtly resting on her shoulder and waist.
Shi Xinyu’s first impression was always rational and intellectual. Normally at the company, she mostly gave off a feeling of noble aloofness.
Xi Qingyi and Ding Qiwen, who were relatively more familiar with her, had never imagined Shi Xinyu had another side.
At this moment, she lay on the bed, giving and taking, enjoying Ying Miaomiao’s initiative, and also enjoying this irresistible passivity.
Ying Miaomiao was very close to her. Her slip nightgown slipped, revealing a round, fair shoulder.
Ying Miaomiao’s hand gently wrapped around Shi Xinyu’s wrist, slowly moving upward, interlocking their fingers.
The moment their fingers intertwined, Shi Xinyu felt that a certain empty space in her heart seemed to be filling up and completing.
The day had already broken. The curtains’ blackout effect was good, only letting in a slight weak light, allowing Shi Xinyu to see Ying Miaomiao’s expression clearly.
She was kissing her seriously and devoutly.
Breathing gradually blurred, and vision also blurred. Shi Xinyu could feel Ying Miaomiao’s kiss falling on the corner of her eye.
She closed her eyes, her eyelashes trembling slightly.
But when she closed her eyes, everything in the room seemed to magnify. She trembled slightly, but clutched Ying Miaomiao’s hand even tighter.
Panting and murmuring intertwined.
The drawn-out, sticky tune made Shi Xinyu unable to stop responding, but the words she was about to speak turned into broken gasps.
Ying Miaomiao’s fingers were always very warm. Shi Xinyu suddenly thought of a kitten, its pink paw pads resting on her, not too light, not too heavy, seemingly a massage, but such a massage carried a different flavor.
It was like kneading dough. Shi Xinyu felt her flesh and bones were being soaked. Her fair arms couldn’t restrain themselves and wrapped around Ying Miaomiao.
Their body temperatures intertwined. Shi Xinyu couldn’t tell whether Ying Miaomiao was blazing hot or if she herself was hot.
Her heartbeat grew stronger. Everything in front of her seemed to form mottled color blocks, and only Ying Miaomiao was the brightest.
Passionate kisses followed one after another. Their dark hair intertwined. Ying Miaomiao’s eyes could always catch unexpected surprises. Shi Xinyu’s neck was long, and a few strands of hair were casually stuck to the side of her neck, making her skin appear even paler.
Their breaths were also intertwined.
Familiar desire surged. Ying Miaomiao’s kiss meandered downwards, and the sound of gasping in the quiet room was continuous.
She covered Shi Xinyu’s eyes, looking at her slightly open lips, her pearly white teeth, and her usually pale face was flushed with passion.
“Love you so much.”
Her fingertips skillfully traced every inch. Wherever they went, they caused shivers.
“Are you happy?”
Ying Miaomiao asked.
Her question was plain, but her tone was full of delight. She stared closely at Shi Xinyu’s flushed face, but her hands didn’t stop, gently exploring the right places.
Shi Xinyu struggled to say, “Don’t… don’t ask me such questions.” As she spoke, she turned her face away, pulling the blanket over her face.
Looking at Shi Xinyu like this, Ying Miaomiao finally felt a sense of connection between ten years ago and the present—prideful and stubborn.
She got closer, unapologetically burying herself in the blanket as well. Feeling Shi Xinyu’s warm and soft body, she sincerely said, “Shi Xinyu, I’m so happy.”
Shi Xinyu’s soft panting was her reply.
…
After fooling around, they eventually had to get up.
Fortunately, only the two of them lived there, so they were relatively free. But after showering, Shi Xinyu suddenly felt contradictory again.
She had dreamed of the past. Why wasn’t Ying Miaomiao curious?
Shi Xinyu tentatively asked this question.
“What did you want to tell me that day?”
Ying Miaomiao paused while eating breakfast. She thought for a while before remembering which day Shi Xinyu was referring to.
She didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Shi Xinyu truly didn’t know that she had traveled back in time. All those things that bothered her had been resolved. She had been needlessly jealous of herself.
But Ying Miaomiao felt it was still necessary to explain to Shi Xinyu.
She cleared her throat and said in a mock-serious tone, “Actually, Lü Jiaoyang told me that you had a ‘white moonlight’ in high school, drew a portrait, and even kept a note written by someone else until now.”
Ying Miaomiao then changed the subject, “But I know all this.”
She had traveled back to the past. Although she didn’t understand the principle, she understood many things. The present world and the past time were interconnected. She could change history, but the memory of the history she changed would be erased.
Shi Xinyu was very awkward initially, perhaps because she didn’t want to forget, so the memory was exceptionally deep, leaving a faint shadow.
“Do you remember the first time we met? The day you kidnapped me when you turned into a cat.”
Shi Xinyu nodded, “I remember.”
“Why did you go look for me that day? Why did you pick up a cat? Why did you name a cat Miaomiao?”
Shi Xinyu pursed her lips, hesitated for a moment, and said, “I went looking for you that day to deliver something. As for the name, it was probably an instinct.”
Her subconscious told her that this kitten’s name was Miaomiao.
She suddenly understood, “I thought you didn’t know.”
Ying Miaomiao took Shi Xinyu’s hand, gently shook it, lowered her eyes, and said slowly, “Cherished memories are always remembered. I made you worry.”
But Ying Miaomiao actually concealed a sentence: the moment she returned to the past, she had already let go of everything.
After all, no matter who Shi Xinyu truly liked, she had to hold onto her tightly.
