Beauty Snake - Chapter 6
Chapter 6: Entangled by a Snake Demon.
Hiss… hiss… hiss…
Amidst the chaos, the intermittent sound of a flickering tongue swirled around Ji Yunfei’s ears in 360-degree surround sound.
“Ugh… shut up!”
Ji Yunfei’s brow furrowed, her face a mask of impatience. Her eyes remained closed as her hands flailed wildly, attempting to silence the persistent noise. But as she swung, her hand stopped dead in mid-air.
If her senses weren’t failing her, the touch of icy coldness she had just brushed against was the source of the sound—a snake.
Ji Yunfei snapped her eyes open and scrambled backward. Once she gained some distance, she finally saw the snake clearly. It wasn’t just any snake; it was the “bad guy” she had been so desperate to catch.
Seeing her wake up, the snake’s eyes lit up, and it became visibly excited. It slithered slowly toward her, but noticed the fear in her eyes and stopped halfway. Seeing it halt with no apparent intent to attack, Ji Yunfei’s pounding heart finally began to settle.
She scanned her surroundings. Everything was a vast expanse of white, as if covered in a thick mist. Nothing was visible except for the black snake and its icy throne. At this point, Ji Yunfei deduced that she was not in reality; everything since her fainting spell was a series of illusions.
Seeing Ji Yunfei’s attention wandering, the black snake flicked its tongue again, signaling her to look at it. She looked the creature up and down. Compared to before, its scales seemed more lustrous, and the yellow diamond patterns shimmered with a golden glow. Noticing her gaze, the black snake puffed up its chest proudly, as if to say, “Behold my beauty, human.”
“Pfft.”
Seeing such a human-like reaction from a snake, Ji Yunfei couldn’t help but laugh. However, her joy lasted less than two seconds. The snake appeared to be embarrassed to the point of rage; it opened its mouth wide and lunged toward her.
Realizing she was in an illusion anyway, Ji Yunfei mentally shrugged. She simply closed her eyes, adopting an “at your mercy” stance.
But the expected sensation of being eaten never came. Instead, a faint, clean scent of narcissus filled the air. Confused, Ji Yunfei peeked with one eye. The black snake seemed to be in distress. Its eyes were half-closed, it was coiled in a ball, and its body was trembling slightly.
Seeing this, she had a hunch. Boldly, she stepped forward, leaned in close, and poked the snake with her finger. At the touch, the snake recoiled as if struck by lightning, and its eyes flew open.
Looking into those pale green pupils, Ji Yunfei was shocked to see… desire.
Before she could process the surprise, she felt an icy touch on her skin. Looking down, she saw that the coiled snake had already begun to wind itself around her. As the snake climbed higher, the scent of narcissus grew more intense. Ji Yunfei’s head began to swim, and her vision blurred.
A sudden chill on her cheek snapped her back to her senses. The snake was flicking its tongue, licking her face. Ji Yunfei’s skin crawled with goosebumps. She began to struggle violently, trying to shake the creature off.
“You little monster! Look closely—I’m not a snake! Going into heat with me won’t help!”
“I won’t hold it against you for knocking me out, but get off me right now!”
“Stop licking my face! I’m not a white mouse, I don’t taste that good!”
She swung and shouted. Though she didn’t know if the snake understood, she had to try. After all, with a snake… it was simply against the laws of nature. She couldn’t accept it.
She didn’t have much hope, but miraculously, the snake actually stopped. Its vertical pupils dilated slightly, and mist filled its eyes. Ji Yunfei could have sworn she saw a look of profound grievance.
The black snake slowly uncoiled from her and slithered toward the icy throne, turning back occasionally to gesture for her to follow. Curious, and considering the snake seemed to possess human-like intelligence, Ji Yunfei steeled her nerves and followed.
The closer they got to the throne, the more the temperature plummeted. Cold mist radiated from the ice. Standing before it, Ji Yunfei saw that the throne was far more exquisite than she had imagined. It emitted a faint blue glow, crystal clear and massive. Intricate snake carvings served as armrests, their ruby eyes adding a touch of mystery.
As she observed the throne, the narcissus scent suddenly became overpowering—so strong it made her eyes sting.
“Cough, cough…”
Ji Yunfei squeezed her eyes shut, fanning the air in front of her nose to disperse the fragrance. Suddenly, she felt a chill against her back, followed by a soft, warm sensation pressing against her. She shrank her neck, but before she could turn, her throat was encircled.
She held her breath, peeking her eyes open in discomfort. A slender hand was resting on her left shoulder, and a pale, smooth arm was gently wrapped around her neck. As for the other hand… the tingling sensation at her waist gave her the answer.
Ji Yunfei was being held in someone’s embrace. She tried to turn her head, but she was frozen in place. Then, a soft breath was blown into her ear.
“Let go of me!” She shouted, hoping for a “spark of conscience” from the person behind her.
But she was too naive. Instead of letting go, the person tightened their grip.
“Hehe.”
“A-Fei, your ears are turning red.”
A clear, playful female voice drifted slowly into Ji Yunfei’s ear…
