An Obsessive Alpha Covets The Honest Beta - Chapter 4
Lin Xun was young and vigorous, completely lacking self-restraint. If one had to use a phrase to describe him, “worse than a beast” would probably be it.
Li You was tossed and turned, tortured all night, fainting and waking, waking and fainting, until he finally didn’t even know how he had fallen asleep.
Heavy curtains blocked out the harsh sunlight, leaving the room in dimness. Li You didn’t have a single uninjured spot on his body. His arm was tightly held by the Alpha beside him and had long since gone numb from being pressed under him.
Li You tried to move slightly. He blankly scanned the surrounding environment, his hazy consciousness gradually returning.
He really had spent a wild night with Lin Xun like this.
Li You’s head was throbbing with an explosive headache. He carefully climbed down from the bed, bent over to pick up his clothes, and put them on haphazardly, not daring to look at the sleeping Alpha beside him at all.
Even the slightest movement still woke Lin Xun. Just as Li You was about to take a step to leave, he was pulled back by the Alpha stretching out an arm.
Having slept for very little time to begin with, and now being disturbed again, Lin Xun was extremely displeased. He sarcastically mocked in a bad mood, “Running away after sleeping with me? Li You, what do you take me for?”
“It was clearly you who recklessly drugged me!”
Li You didn’t know where the Alpha in front of him got the nerve to lecture him. After he shouted this sentence out, the air fell silent for a few seconds, with neither of them speaking.
The matter had already happened; now the best solution was for both of them to willingly ignore this ridiculous mistake.
Li You’s lip line tightened, and his fingers suddenly clenched into a fist. His mind was in a complete mess right now, but he still forced himself to feign composure, opening his mouth calmly: “Let’s leave it at this. I will try my best to stay away from you from now on, and you shouldn’t come looking to trouble me either.”
A corner of the curtain was pulled open, and Lin Xun rolled out of bed. Bare-chested, he pressed forward step by step, confining Li You within the barrier formed by his two arms.
Li You’s breathing hitched; his throat was locked by someone, and his chin was raised uncontrollably. Lin Xun bent down to look into his eyes, his expression void of emotion, and his voice extremely calm and steady: “You think I’m a trouble?”
“Why stay away from me? Ten years have passed, haven’t you stayed far enough away from me?”
Li You was deprived of oxygen, his face turning bright red. He had no doubt that Lin Xun truly wanted to strangle him to death. Out of survival instinct, his hands tightly gripped Lin Xun’s wrists, trying to loosen the Alpha’s grip just a little bit.
“Why look at me with those eyes?” Lin Xun straightened his waist, looking down from above at the Beta’s miserable state. He loosened the force in his fingers, gently patted the side of Li You’s face, leaned into Li You’s ear, and asked in a low voice: “Sister-in-law, what are you afraid of? Are you afraid that you’ve finally become the same kind of person as Lin Zhaoning?”
Lin Xun directly exposed the disguise that Li You thought was flawless, trampling his pitiful self-esteem into pieces and scattering them fluttering to the ground.
Li You stood in place like a wooden block, his limbs seemingly rusted. He slowly blinked twice, his wet eyelashes so heavy they could barely be raised.
Lin Xun was right; he had indeed become the kind of person he used to despise the most.
“It doesn’t matter. My brother is out looking for lovers; now his younger brother has become his wife’s lover. It’s very fair this way.” Lin Xun finally smiled slightly, tenderly kissing away the tear drops on Li You’s face. “If you can’t enjoy this kind of pleasure, then divorce him and live with me.”
Like a thunderclap exploding beside his ear, Li You kept his head down and reacted for a long time. A sense of absurdity arose spontaneously, even overshadowing his previous panic and unease.
“I said, there is no need for any connection between us.”
Li You refused sternly. He would divorce Lin Zhaoning, but at the same time, he would not have any intersection with Lin Xun, nor anyone in the Lin family.
“You don’t agree, huh?” Lin Xun took half a step back, tilting his head to think seriously.
Li You’s eyelids twitched uncontrollably.
He saw the Alpha’s thin lips part slightly, uttering every single word in a low voice: “If you don’t agree, I will expose everything about us.”
“Seducing one’s brother-in-law…” Lin Xun stopped at the right moment, raising his eyebrows in a pleasant mood, saying transparently yet cruelly: “Tell me, will they criticize me, or will they spurn you more?”
Li You’s face, which already had little color, turned completely pale.
When such a disgraceful thing happened in a high-society circle like the Lin family, any normal person would choose to keep their mouth shut to keep the peace. But Li You had clearly overestimated the last shred of humanity Lin Xun retained as a human being, while simultaneously underestimating how severe this Alpha’s uncured madness could get when it flared up.
Because he had no father since he was a child, Li You had endured a lot of gossip together with his mother ever since he could remember. Spittle could drown a person; if things were really spread out the way Lin Xun said, he could hardly imagine what overwhelming abuse he would receive.
More than ten years ago, he was a fatherless wild child; more than ten years later, he might turn into a shameless, low-down slut who seduced his own brother-in-law.
No one would believe him. Even if the truth were revealed, those high and mighty people in power who were sought after by others would not be condemned, because nobody cared about the truth.
Li You was all alone, without a single relative to turn to, leaving him with no choice at this moment.
A few days later.
Taking advantage of Lin Zhaoning not having returned from his business trip yet, Li You threw those chaotic messes to the back of his mind and chose a weekend to move out. He rented an apartment near his company, a place of about 50 square meters. Although it was a bit small, it won out due to its good location, though the rent was also expensive.
Fortunately, Lin Xun was not so bastardly as to be completely devoid of humanity. Li You’s drinks that night weren’t consumed in vain; the company successfully got the project and gave him a bonus. Relying on this money, Li You still had spare cash after renting the apartment, so he wouldn’t live too miserably.
Li You was busy all day. He had brought quite a lot of things over; the odds and ends piled up in corners and nooks made the already small space even harder to step through.
The doorbell chimed merrily. Li You thought the takeout he ordered had arrived, but upon opening the door, Lin Xun was standing outside properly and straight. This time, he wasn’t wearing formal attire, but had chosen a casual sportswear set. The shrewd demeanor of a merchant in the vanity fair faded away, making him look at first glance like a male college student who had just entered society.
Li You frowned, reaching out his hand to block the doorway in an obvious posture of resistance. “What are you doing here?”
Lin Xun lowered his eyes, took a step forward, and easily broke into Li You’s home. His eyelids were very thin, which, paired with his tall and straight nose bridge, made him look somewhat sharp when staring at people.
With a “bang,” the main door was kicked shut with a foot, causing Li You to flinch violently.
Then he heard Lin Xun say emotionlessly, “Here to commit adultery.”
Lin Xun turned his head to kiss him. Li You tilted his head back desperately, almost straining his neck into a cramp.
The person in front of him suddenly went still. Li You abruptly opened his eyes, seeing the Alpha holding his arms, the corners of his lips curved maliciously, mocking him with a half-smile: “What species of giraffe are you?”
Li You was so angry he wanted to curse.
Lin Xun was utterly shameless. It was bad enough that he trampled on his dignity, but he even had to insult his character.
Li You said, “Find some time to go to the hospital and get your eyes checked.”
And your brain too.
Lin Xun let out an “Mm,” sat down on the sofa like a master, and said indifferently, “My taste is much better than Lin Zhaoning’s.”
Li You thought that there was probably no need for treatment then, since he was already completely blind and beyond saving.
From that day on, Lin Xun clung to him like a ghost.
The apartment was small, and living alone was already cramped. Yet the shameless Alpha couldn’t be driven away no matter what. Li You said both good and harsh words, but after his mouth went dry, all he got was a rogue response from Lin Xun: “If the adulterer leaves, how can we still commit adultery?”
Li You: “…”
Lin Xun rolled over, causing the foot of the bed to shake a few times. Pinching Li You’s chin, he asked in a deep voice, “Do you have other adulterers?”
Li You was speechless, silently covering himself with the quilt.
How great it would be if Lin Xun were mute.
Lin Xun snorted coldly, pulled open the quilt, wrapped the person into his arms, and taught him a lesson: “Why aren’t you suffocated to death?”
Li You sniffled and shouted, “Then just let me suffocate to death!”
Late at night, the dim yellow bedside lamp reflected the back of the person leaning half against the wall. Lin Xun lazily draped an arm; the person beside him was surprisingly big-hearted and had already fallen fast asleep, while he himself was tormented into discomfort.
Lin Xun restrained the irritability between his brows, reached out to turn off the light, and drilled into the quilt to kiss Li You. A few buttons on the pajamas were messed up, and several deep red hickeys appeared on Li You’s neck.
“Mmh…”
Li You was dead tired. He raised his hand to push Lin Xun away, but inadvertently slapped the Alpha in the process, though the force wasn’t very heavy.
“…F*ck,” Lin Xun stopped his actions to hold Li You’s hand, letting out a sigh-like “So satisfying.” Immediately following that, a subtle sound of panting rang out in the room.
Li You was still wearing his wedding ring on his hand. The Alpha stared at that ring for a long time, licked his back teeth with the tip of his tongue, and then sprayed his countless troops of offspring entirely onto the ring.
First, he wiped Li You’s ring finger clean thoroughly, then roughly yanked off that eyesore of a ring and tossed it in an arc; the ring rolled cleanly into the trash can.
“Filthy thing.”
After cursing once, Lin Xun held Li You in his arms as if nothing had happened and went to sleep.
When Li You woke up the next day, he discovered the ring was gone.
Lin Xun calmly said it was thrown away. Li You loudly questioned him on why he threw it, saying this was infringing on his personal property.
The wedding ring had been bought by Li You with his own salary when he got married, and the style was custom-made, costing quite a lot of money. Strictly speaking, before today, that ring was the most valuable thing on his entire body.
Lin Xun looked at him coldly: “Thrown is thrown. I’ll compensate you with one another day.”
“Who wants your stuff!”
Li You’s eyes turned red from anger, and he stuck his neck out to challenge the thief in front of him.
Those eyes glared at him angrily, unlike their usual lifeless state; right now, they actually possessed a trace of vividness instead. Li You usually had stable emotions, but whenever he got angry, his face flushed very easily, like a steamed shrimp.
At this moment, Li You’s entire face was bright red, his delicate eyebrows knitted downward. Because he was overly agitated, his eyes were widened so much that his double eyelids were almost invisible, leaving only a thin layer of crease at the tail of his eyes.
Lin Xun was initially angry because of Li You’s reaction, but by the end of being criticized, he began staring blankly at Li You, with only one thought in his mind: He’s so F*cking pretty. How can he look so seductive even when he’s angry?
Coming back to his senses, he began to envy Lin Zhaoning again.
Dammit, Lin Zhaoning had seen Li You in all his various states, happy, sad, excited, angry…
Every expression of Li You could bring surprise to Lin Xun. Everything he had plotted and calculated to see was something that Lin Zhaoning, currently Li You’s nominal husband, could easily obtain.
Thinking like this, the gloom between Lin Xun’s brows unconsciously sank, making his already sharp looks appear even more aggressive.
Li You instantly fell silent.
He was most afraid of Lin Xun looking like this.
He looked fierce and unfeeling, though he wasn’t much better usually either.
Lin Xun stormed out the door with rage, slamming it with a earth-shattering noise, and drove off on his own.
This was the first time in nearly a week of cohabitation that he left Li You behind, making him commute to and from work by himself.
