- Chapter 3 - Miss Li, I'm Married... Please Stop Harassing Me
Li Su had no recollection of the memories Huo Xuanye mentioned. Combined with the fact that she was still wearing last night’s dress, the truth was painfully obvious.
“Huo Xuanye, you lied to me again!”
Huo Xuanye continued his shameless act, “Just teasing you. Are you mad? Fine, hit me if it’ll make you feel better.”
He leaned his face closer, “Go on, hit me right here!”
Slap!
A crisp sound echoed through the room.
Huo Xuanye’s cheek flushed slightly, his expression freezing for a moment.
Li Su rubbed her palm, “I’ve seen shameless people before, but never one as shameless as you. Naturally, I had to fulfill your little request~”
Huo Xuanye touched his cheek, a smirk tugging at his lips. “I always thought my sister-in-law was an elegant, poised, and gentle beauty. Who knew you’d be this wild and feisty in private? I’m starting to like you a little.”
“You’re insane!”
Huo Xuanye brushed off her insult with a lazy grin, “Please respect my preferences.”
Li Su: “…”
The bedroom fell silent for a moment.
Li Su took a deep breath, “Don’t call me sister-in-law. Your sister-in-law is Zhou Motang now.”
“Got it, wife~”
Huo Xuanye deliberately drew out the last word, his wild, untamed smirk making Li Su’s head throb.
She retreated under the covers and looked up at him, “I think yesterday’s impulsive marriage was too rushed. Shouldn’t we reconsider?”
Huo Xuanye practically wanted to shove the marriage certificate in her face. “What, you want a flash marriage and divorce? Turn me, the esteemed second young master of the Huo family, into a twice-married man who’ll be looked down on in the dating market? No way! Think carefully about why you agreed to this last night, hm?”
Huo Xuanye got out of bed.
While Li Su was still in yesterday’s clothes, Huo Xuanye wore simple black sleepwear, the collar loosely open, revealing a stretch of tanned skin and faintly visible collarbones.
The more it was half-hidden, the more tantalizing it became.
The Huo brothers both had tall, upright figures, handsome features, and an air of aristocratic elegance like models strutting down a runway.
Comparing the two, Huo Xuanye was two years younger than the 27-year-old Huo Zhenzhou, with a more athletic build and a sun-kissed complexion, unlike Huo Zhenzhou’s cool, pale skin.
Huo Xuanye leaned down, “Staring at me like that, do you really like this face that much?”
Li Su smiled sweetly, “Of course. If I didn’t, how could I have been your sister-in-law for a year?”
Huo Xuanye’s smile faded. “If you want to keep looking, then don’t even think about divorce. I’m going for a workout. See you at breakfast.”
With that, Huo Xuanye left.
The bedroom fell silent again, leaving Li Su alone.
Realizing this was the Huo residence, she quickly grabbed a marriage certificate and her bag, ready to leave.
It was still early, and Li Su assumed the main hall would be empty until she spotted Huo Zhenzhou sitting on the sofa.
A cup of coffee sat in front of him, a newspaper in his hands.
The morning light spilled in, as if time had rewound.
Even after three months of disappearance and memory loss, Huo Zhenzhou was still Huo Zhenzhou.
He noticed her too. “Miss Li, I’ve heard you’re a wealthy heiress. Even if we were once engaged, I’m married now. Given your status, it’s inappropriate for you to cling to me like this. Please refrain from visiting my home in the future.”
Wrong, wrong!
This wasn’t the Huo Zhenzhou who had once loved her.
Li Su recalled why she had agreed to marry Huo Xuanye last night… to stir up trouble.
A faint smile played on her lips as she said, “Young Master Huo, I’m glad to see you’ve returned safely. I’ll be visiting the Huo residence often.”
With that, she turned to leave.
Huo Zhenzhou set down his newspaper, puzzled. What did she mean?
Almost involuntarily, he stood and followed her. “Miss Li, I’ve just returned. My wife didn’t know before that I was the heir of a top-tier wealthy family. Last night, she told me she felt insecure. As her husband, it’s my duty to reassure her. I hope you can understand.”
“I know this must be difficult for you, given our past engagement. But I’ve lost my memory and don’t remember you, only her.”
“Uncle Xu, please arrange for a driver to take me home,” Li Su said to the butler first, then leisurely replied to Huo Zhenzhou, “Don’t worry. When I visit the Huo residence in the future, it won’t be for you.”
Huo Zhenzhou assumed she was putting on a brave front. “If not for me, then for whom? Miss Li, don’t make excuses. I hope you’ll keep your distance from me from now on.”
“Fine.”
The car arrived.
Uncle Xu opened the door, and Li Su stepped in without looking back.
Only after the car had driven away did Huo Zhenzhou belatedly ask, “Why was she here last night?”
Uncle Xu replied, “Miss Li has a guest room here.”
But he truly didn’t know when she had arrived last night!
How strange.
Zhou Motang had woken up early to accompany Xiao Qiyu on a walk and had also witnessed Li Su and Huo Zhenzhou speaking together.
Why was Li Su already here this morning?
Huo Zhenzhou was married, was Li Su still clinging to hope?
Did she love him that much?
Was she so eager to be the other woman?
At breakfast, Huo Xuanye came downstairs with a dark expression.
After a trip to the gym, he’d returned to find his wife gone, leaving only a text saying she’d gone home.
At the dining table, Huo Zhenzhou spoke up. “Mom, Dad, since Li Su and I are no longer involved, there’s no need to keep her guest room reserved. It might give her the wrong idea, making her feel she can come and go as she pleases. That wouldn’t be fair to Tangtang. If we’re cutting ties, let’s make it clean.”
Zhou Motang secretly rejoiced. At least Huo Zhenzhou was still on her side.
It was Li Su who was shamelessly harassing him.
From Huo Zhenzhou’s words, it seemed Li Su had run into him when leaving this morning?
Huo Xuanye casually chimed in, “Brother’s right. I agree!”
Huo Zhenzhou nodded. “A’Ye, I knew you’d understand. You’ve worked hard managing the company these past months. Now that I’m back, I’ll resume my duties today.”
Huo Xuanye picked up his phone and changed Li Su’s contact name from “Sister-in-law” to “Wife.”
Understand? Bullshit!
Though Li Su had a dedicated guest room with spare clothes, she rarely stayed at the Huo residence before, partly due to her busy schedule and partly because they hadn’t been married yet.
Besides, those clothes had been chosen by Huo Zhenzhou. Now that Li Su was his wife, she should wear what he provided.
“You’ve just returned, and your health isn’t fully recovered. Your priority now is regaining your memory,” Huo Qiangcang declared firmly. “Today, you’re going to the hospital for a full check-up.”
Xiao Qiyu nodded. “Your father and I will go with you. We’ll find the best doctors to help you recover as soon as possible.”
Huo Zhenzhou had no choice but to agree.
Zhou Motang gripped her chopsticks tightly. With someone as stunning as Li Su as his former fiancé, would Huo Zhenzhou still love her if he regained his memories?
On the other side, Li Su’s parents each held one end of the marriage certificate, glancing between their daughter, who was calmly eating her meal, and the document in their hands.
Li Ruifeng roared in shock, “You’re saying that Huo Zhenzhou lost his memory, forgot all about you, and even married someone else?!”
“How could he be that kind of person?” Wen Yunshang said in disbelief. “He loved you so much before, how could he change his heart so quickly? Just three months, and he’s already married to someone else?”
“Sweetheart, even if Huo Zhenzhou married someone else, you didn’t have to spite him by marrying his younger brother!” Li Ruifeng tapped the marriage certificate. “From now on, you’ll be seeing him everywhere, how awkward is that going to be?”
Wen Yunshang gently asked for Li Su’s opinion, “Darling, what are you thinking? Do you want to continue this marriage with Huo Xuanye?”
