- Amnesiac Fiancé Married Another, So I Married His Brother
- Chapter 22 - Baby, Did My Brother Ever Kiss You Like This Before?
The soundproofing in the lounge wasn’t as good as the office.
As the two kissed inside, the chatter and laughter from outside seeped in, making the moment even more tense and thrilling.
Li Su was pulled into a deep embrace, her neck tilted back as Huo Xuanye’s lips trailed down her cheeks, her neck, her shoulders, every inch of exposed skin was claimed by his kisses.
She had just finished dancing and was exhausted, now panting even harder, her chest rising and falling rapidly. His kisses left her dazed, her vision blurring, her waist going weak beneath his touch.
Huo Xuanye was just as breathless, reluctantly pressing his lips to her flushed cheeks. “Baby, when my brother came to see you before… did you two ever kiss like this?”
“N-no… we didn’t.”
Li Su clutched his shirt, her voice soft and sweet. “He wasn’t as shameless as you…”
Back then, her brother had treated her like a fragile glass doll, cherishing and pampering her, afraid she might feel even the slightest discomfort. His love had been tender, restrained.
“Wife, didn’t you see the marks on my sister-in-law’s neck? There are no mosquitoes in the Huo residence, and she certainly didn’t scratch herself.” Huo Xuanye’s lips ghosted over the delicate curve of her collarbone, his voice low and teasing. “Our brother is just as wild and lustful in private~”
He lifted his head, only for Li Su to slap him across the face.
A wicked grin curled on Huo Xuanye’s lips. “I told you, I’m going to erase every trace of him in your heart. Everything he did with you, I’ll do too. Baby, did you ever hit him like this?”
“No.”
“Then that means… my wife’s slaps are mine alone to enjoy.”
Excitement flickered in his eyes as he leaned in again, shamelessly stealing another kiss.
Li Su pushed him away. “Huo Xuanye, stop. I’ve got powder on, aren’t you afraid of poisoning yourself?”
“I’m not. ‘To die under the peony, even as a ghost, is to be a romantic.’”
“Huo Xuanye-”
The mirror reflected their entangled figures, Li Su’s fair skin flushing pink, her waist arching back as his kisses grew fiercer, nearly pressing her entirely against the glass.
“Call me ‘husband’~”
“Be good, baby… say it for me…”
His gaze was hazy with desire as he nuzzled her cheek. “Wife, just once…”
Li Su gripped his shirt tightly, her voice soft and trembling from his relentless kisses, sweet and syrupy as she whispered,
“Husband~”
Huo Xuanye’s heart nearly burst from excitement, adrenaline surging through him.
He pulled her tightly into his arms, unwilling to let go of his sweet, soft wife even if she slapped him again.
Like a big bad wolf seducing a little white rabbit, he was both wicked and utterly detestable.
Li Su’s voice was damp with exhaustion. “Can you let go now?”
She was so tired, all she wanted was to go home and rest.
Huo Xuanye set her down, only for her to push him away without mercy.
“I need to change. Wait outside.”
“Fine, fine.”
Obediently, he stepped out, licking his lips with lingering satisfaction. After Li Su’s kisses, even his mouth tasted sweeter.
It didn’t matter if she kicked him out tonight, next time she changed, he’d stay inside to “help.”
When the couple returned home, they found Zhou Motang sitting on the sofa.
She seemed to have been waiting for them. The moment they entered, she stood and approached.
“Li Su, can we talk?”
Huo Xuanye wrapped an arm around Li Su’s waist from behind. “Sister-in-law, what do you want to discuss with my wife? Can I listen too?”
Zhou Motang glanced at Huo Xuanye and said, “Sure. This afternoon, the master came to calculate an auspicious date for us. The 30th of this month is a perfect day. I don’t know anyone familiar here, so I was thinking, Li Su, could you be my bridesmaid? And since A’Ye can be the groomsman, it seems like a great idea! What do you think?”
Having Li Su stand beside her, the bride, and witness up close the man she once deeply loved marrying someone else, wouldn’t that make Li Su completely let go of Huo Zhenzhou?
She admitted it was a bit cruel to Li Su, but her reasoning wasn’t wrong. They had already parted ways, so it was time to sever any lingering attachments.
Why had Li Su married Huo Xuanye in the first place? Wasn’t it just so she could see Huo Zhenzhou every day while living in the Huo household?
Li Su couldn’t let go of Huo Zhenzhou, which was why she had married Huo Xuanye. To her, Huo Xuanye was nothing more than a tool.
Zhou Motang was deeply worried that Li Su might secretly try to seduce Huo Zhenzhou behind the scenes.
She couldn’t let Huo Zhenzhou regain his memories, nor could she allow him to be alone with Li Su.
“Sis-in-law, that won’t work. Bridesmaids and groomsmen are supposed to be unmarried. My wife and I are already married, so we can’t take on those roles,” Huo Xuanye replied on Li Su’s behalf.
He added, “Don’t worry about it, finding bridesmaids and groomsmen is a minor issue. You don’t need to trouble yourself with it. Our Huo family has plenty of relatives and friends.”
Li Su chimed in, “A’Ye is right. Uncle and Auntie will handle the wedding arrangements. All you need to do, sis-in-law, is focus on learning the proper etiquette, taking care of your skin, and preparing yourself for the big day.”
Disappointment flickered in Zhou Motang’s eyes. “Oh, I see. I heard you brothers are very close. Won’t it be a pity if you can’t be the groomsman?”
“Not at all. A wedding is just a ceremony,” Huo Xuanye said, pulling Li Su away. “You should rest early too, sis-in-law.”
As Zhou Motang watched their retreating figures, she thought to herself, Li Su was using Huo Xuanye as a tool to get closer to Huo Zhenzhou, yet Huo Xuanye seemed perfectly content with it.
Was Huo Xuanye stupid?
Did he really feel no sense of crisis at all?
Logically speaking, Huo Xuanye had personally witnessed how deeply in love they once were. Shouldn’t his sense of urgency be even stronger than hers, someone who had only learned about their past through online gossip?
Zhou Motang returned to her room, where Huo Zhenzhou sat on the sofa reviewing documents. The coffee table in front of him was piled with files he had brought back from the office.
The news often described Huo Zhenzhou as a workaholic.
He had only two great loves in life.
The first was his work.
The second was Li Su.
But it was fine, Huo Zhenzhou had lost his memory now. He didn’t even remember Li Su.
“I just ran into A’Ye and his wife downstairs. I asked them to be the groomsman and bridesmaid at our wedding, but they refused…” Zhou Motang pouted as she sat beside Huo Zhenzhou. “If you had asked, they definitely wouldn’t have turned you down.”
She leaned gently against his shoulder. “Husband, do you think they dislike me?”
“Li Su probably thinks I stole her fiancé. She’s been whispering in A’Ye’s ear, and now the two of them both resent me…”
“What should I do to make them happier?”
Her voice was pitiful and full of grievance.
“If they don’t want to be the bridesmaid and groomsman, forget it. There are plenty of other people. No need to be upset over such a small matter. They’re busy preparing for their own wedding too,” Huo Zhenzhou replied calmly, his tone indifferent as he comforted her.
“Husband~”
Zhou Motang reached out to touch him, her hand trailing down from his chest until it rested at his waist.
Huo Zhenzhou pressed her hand down. “I just got back from the company today and still have a lot of documents to review. You should go to bed first.”
“Without you beside me, I can’t sleep.”
Zhou Motang lacked a sense of security, but she remembered what Old Madam Huo had told her privately earlier that she should have a child soon.
In wealthy families, just like in ancient imperial households, a mother’s status could be elevated by her son.
Huo Zhenzhou turned his head to look at her. “Then go play with your phone for a while. I’ll join you soon.”
“Okay~”
