“Let’s welcome Li Su to the stage to receive her award!”

Li Su, dressed in a red mermaid gown with her long hair cascading over her shoulders, walked confidently onto the stage.

She accepted the trophy and stood before the black standing microphone. “I’m honored to receive this award. Here, I’d like to mention something else. My husband and I have been married for six years now. Throughout these six years, he has been incredibly supportive of my career, including when I was unexpectedly injured. He stayed by my side day and night, taking care of me without ever leaving.”

In the audience, Huo Xuanye, dressed in a sharp suit, had specially styled his hair into a mature and sophisticated slicked-back look for the cameras. His deep-set eyes were fixed intently on his beautiful wife on stage.

Hearing Li Su’s words, he felt his eyes welling up with tears.

Deeply moved, he struggled to maintain his composure on the surface.

Li Su continued, “I’m so grateful for his thoughtfulness, love, and patience. I love him dearly too. So, I’ve decided to take a break from the stage for a year or two to focus on my personal life.”

“You’re absolutely right. We are preparing to have a baby. But whether they inherit my dancing talent or not, I don’t know yet. The baby hasn’t even arrived, so I won’t force anything.”

Li Su gave a slight bow and then stepped down from the stage with her trophy.

Huo Xuanye had already risen from his seat and was making his way toward her.

“My ovulation cycle.”

“Starting today, we’re keeping track. From now on, hubby, you finally don’t have to use protection anymore.”

Li Su put down her phone, cupping his face. “Happy? Excited?”

“Mhm.”

“Then… let’s go!!”

For the first time, Huo Xuanye felt Li Su so passionate, so eager to devour him.

This was only the first day.

As night deepened, Huo Xuanye pressed his fingerprint to the door, and it clicked open.

The apartment was pitch black.

Was Li Su already asleep?
