- Chapter 103 - Photos and Videos of Injury Recovery Surface
The next day, Li Su went to the hospital, and Wang Sichun was still in that half-dead state.
No.
To be precise, she looked like she was ready to die.
There was no will to live at all.
Li Su had once felt the same urge to give up on herself.
But the moment she thought about a future without dance, without standing on stage, her heart ached even more than the pain in her legs.
“Have you eaten?”
“Not hungry.”
An IV was still attached to the back of her hand. After surgery, she had to receive fluids for several hours a day.
It was normal not to feel hungry.
“So, what are your plans for the future?”
“I don’t know…” Wang Sichun stared blankly at her legs in casts. “I’m ruined. My future is completely destroyed.”
Li Su was exasperated. “Take out your phone and look at all those years of sweat and hard work. Are you really going to let one injury defeat you? Would that be fair to yourself?”
Why were the people around her all like this?
Facing the slightest setback, they just gave up.
She was tired.
Exhausted.
Li Su turned and left.
After returning home, she went straight to the study and took Huo Xuanye’s phone from the desk.
Huo Xuanye’s gaze followed his phone as it moved to Li Su’s face.
Hmm?
Was his wife checking up on him?
As long as she didn’t look at his chats with his brother, she could browse whatever she wanted.
Li Su tapped rapidly on Huo Xuanye’s phone screen.
Huo Xuanye was burning with curiosity but had to pretend he didn’t care.
After all, he hadn’t cheated, two-timed, or flirted with anyone.
His heart and body belonged entirely to his wife.
Not only could she play with his phone, she could play with him too.
In fact, he’d much prefer it if she played with him.
Once Li Su was done, she put the phone down.
Then she left.
Without saying a word.
Huo Xuanye was full of questions.
They had just returned from a vacation abroad, spending over thirty days glued to each other. And now, she had nothing to say to him?
Had Li Su already grown tired of him?
No way.
Li Su seemed to be in a bad mood.
It must be because of something else.
It couldn’t be because of him.
He needed to think positively.
Even so, Huo Xuanye couldn’t focus on work anymore.
His mind was elsewhere.
If he didn’t want to work, he wouldn’t.
Huo Xuanye picked up his phone and went to find Li Su.
She wasn’t in the bedroom.
So he headed to the dance studio.
They had only been apart for a short while, but Li Su had already changed into dancewear and was practicing in front of the large mirror.
Her movements were slow, each one executed with precision.
Huo Xuanye didn’t disturb her. He simply stood to the side, quietly watching.
Li Su noticed him in the mirror but didn’t stop. She kept dancing.
After finishing a routine, she picked up her phone.
#Photos of Li Su’s Injury#
It was trending.
Originally, she hadn’t planned to make it public.
The footage of her injury and recovery wasn’t some dark secret, she just hadn’t wanted to upset her fans.
Now, she was releasing those photos and videos to send a message to Wang Sichun, and to anyone else who might suffer injuries in the future.
Don’t give up. They could recover. They could stand on stage again.
Just like Teacher Di Fei’er.
Huo Xuanye stood behind her and also saw the images of her past injuries on the screen.
His heart ached. He wrapped his arms around her from behind. “Sweetheart, not everyone is as strong as you.”
“If I can help even one person, it’s worth it. If she still lacks the will, then there’s nothing more I can do…”
As soon as Li Su finished speaking, Wang Sichun’s call came through.
She answered the phone, and on the other end, Wang Sichun was still sobbing uncontrollably.
“Back then… were your injuries really that severe?”
As for Li Su’s identity, unless she chose to disclose it herself, no one dared to leak it.
So all the photos online and the videos of Li Su crying in pain during her rehabilitation were released by Li Su herself.
“I understand your feelings now. I’ll keep up with my rehab! And I’ll work hard to return to the stage someday!”
“Miss Li, thank you.”
“I hope you’ll keep dancing too.”
Wang Sichun’s voice was still choked with tears, but compared to yesterday’s lifeless tone, she sounded much more determined now.
“Okay.”
Li Su’s voice was gentle. “Let’s work hard together.”
“Thank you!”
Li Su chatted with her for a few more moments before hanging up.
Relaxing completely, Li Su leaned her weight against Huo Xuanye. “The vacation’s over. It’s time for both of us to get back to work.”
“I don’t want to. I wish we could be on vacation together every day.”
“Then we’d really be freeloaders, your brother supporting you, my brother supporting me?”
“That won’t do. I’ll support you. You’re my wife.” Huo Xuanye picked her up and carried her to the couch.
Li Su sat on the sofa while Huo Xuanye, unbothered, sat on the floor and massaged her calves.
Li Su leaned back even more comfortably and started scrolling through the comments on Weibo’s trending topics.
[My heart aches for my baby, sending hugs~]
[Who was spreading rumors that Li Su’s injuries weren’t that serious? How is this not serious? For a dancer, it’s practically as cruel as taking a life.]
[Susu is the strongest girl I’ve ever seen.]
[Brother-in-law is so sweet too, accompanying her every day. So heartwarming~]
[This hurts so much to watch. She was crying like that, it must’ve been unbearable pain.]
[Why release these videos and photos now? Just to make us suffer?!]
[Probably because of Wang Sichun, right? She got injured too. This is to encourage her.]
[Susu is an angel!! A fairy.]
She didn’t want to die. Wang Sichun was talented, and Li Su had supported her all the way to the finals.
She didn’t want this rising star to disappear from the dance world.
“Ah… be gentler~”
Huo Xuanye pressed his face against Li Su’s thigh. “Staring at your phone too much is bad for your eyes. You should look at me instead, it’s good for your vision.”
Li Su took the opportunity to ruffle his hair. “I see you every day.”
“Then when I’m away on business trips, we’ll video call every day.”
“Mm.”
Li Su agreed readily. “I might take on some other work soon too, so I’ll be flying all over the country. Don’t miss me too much, okay?”
Huo Xuanye’s expression instantly fell.
But…
Only for a second.
He supported his wife’s career.
It was her soul’s calling.
“We agreed after we got married, if you go somewhere for work, I can come visit you.”
“Of course.”
How could she ever refuse the person she loved traveling miles just to see her?
Li Su cupped his face and gently rubbed his cheeks. “I’d be overjoyed to have you there.”
“Promise?”
“Mm.”
Huo Xuanye went back to massaging her legs.
A month later.
Li Su lay sprawled on the bed, too exhausted to even lift a finger, deeply regretting the words she’d said back then.
Why did filming promotional dance videos have to be so exhausting? And why, when her husband came to visit, supposedly for a happy reunion, did their time apart make their reunion so intense that it spiraled out of control?
“Get off!”
Li Su shoved Huo Xuanye away in annoyance. “It’s too hot.”
And he was still lying on top of her.
Huo Xuanye lay on his side, pulling her into his embrace. “Even if it’s hot, I still want to hold you.”
“We’ve been married for over a year. Do we really need to be this clingy?”
Li Su chuckled softly. “Hmm, Xuanye?”
His voice was slightly hoarse as he nuzzled against her neck. “Yes, I do. If I don’t cling to my wife, I don’t feel secure.”
“Why?”
“Because my brother is still alive, and he’s still single!”
Li Su was speechless.
“If it bothers you so much, you shouldn’t have married me back then…”
“That wasn’t an option-”
He’d rather endure jealousy than not marry her.
