Always Chasing My White Moonlight Omega - Chapter 67.2
Ruan Yang’s expression softened. She got out of the car and closed the door.
After exchanging one last glance with Xu Zhiyi, she turned and walked toward the café.
The car door slammed shut, cutting off the words Xu Zhiyi had been about to say.
Watching Ruan Yang’s receding figure, she thought, what could she even say?
This was something Ruan Yang had to decide for herself.
Xu Zhiyi closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat.
Upon entering, Ruan Yang found the place quite empty. The coffee shop was spacious, but there were very few people inside. The server led Ruan Yang to a booth by the window, where Qu Shanshan was already waiting, a cup of hot coffee placed in front of her.
Spotting Ruan Yang, she immediately tensed up and stood, her hands fidgeting awkwardly.
After a few flustered gestures in the air, she managed a smile and called out in a trembling voice, “Senior.”
She motioned for Ruan Yang to sit opposite her and asked the server to bring another coffee, the same as hers.
Ruan Yang sat down and first glanced out the window.
“Did Sister Zhiyi bring you here?” Qu Shanshan asked with a smile, seemingly trying to ease her own tension and the awkward atmosphere. “I just saw you two. You and Sister Zhiyi seem really close.”
Just then, the coffee arrived. Ruan Yang withdrew her gaze and nodded.
Her silence made Qu Shanshan even more nervous.
After a few minutes of strangely quiet tension, Qu Shanshan clenched her fists, mustered her courage, and finally spoke up: “Did you see the message I sent you last night, Senior?”
Ruan Yang took a sip of the hot coffee in front of her and glanced at Qu Shanshan.
She replied, “Yes, I saw it this morning.”
Those words made Qu Shanshan’s heart race again. She bit her lower lip, her mind now completely blank.
But the words she was about to say had been rehearsed so many times in her mind that even in this state, she managed to speak without hesitation.
“Everything I said last night was sincere. I truly like you, Senior.” As she spoke, she gazed earnestly into Ruan Yang’s eyes, not shying away in the slightest.
“This feeling seemed to emerge the night you saved me, or maybe even earlier. I can’t quite remember exactly when. I tried to figure out when I started liking you, but eventually, I realized it didn’t matter. What matters is that I’ve fallen for you, and just like I said last night, I don’t resist it at all. In fact, I’ve secretly rejoiced many times that it’s you I like.”
“I’ve tried so many ways to stop liking you, but every time I see you, these feelings only grow stronger. I can’t help but think of you, wondering when I’ll get to see you again. I don’t know how other girls act when they like someone, but ever since I was little, my parents taught me that no matter what, I should always speak my true feelings. Love and affection should be confessed openly and honestly, even if it means getting hurt.”
“So I want to tell you how I feel. I really like you, Senior. The luckiest thing that happened to me this year was attending your audition and becoming your leading lady. That experience became a star in my world, shining on me through countless nights and making my heart race. So, Senior, I want to ask you.”
At that moment, Qu Shanshan could feel her heart pounding in her throat. Suppressing the urge to suffocate, she spoke the final words, one by one.
“Can you be with me?”
Ruan Yang sat quietly across the table, listening as Qu Shanshan spoke.
Liking and loving someone meant speaking your heart openly and honestly, without fear of getting hurt.
She silently repeated Qu Shanshan’s words in her mind.
The coffee cup in her hand was placed back on the glass tabletop, its pristine white porcelain surface reflecting her face.
Qu Shanshan’s hand had unconsciously pressed against her chest, every second waiting for Ruan Yang’s response making her unbearably nervous.
After what felt like an eternity, she finally heard Ruan Yang speak.
“Actually, I don’t really like spicy food.”
This seemingly irrelevant response made Qu Shanshan’s breath catch.
Even with her nerves stretched to the limit, she recalled yesterday’s meal.
She couldn’t help but ask, “Then why yesterday afternoon.”
“The one who always liked spicy food was someone else.”
When mentioning this person, Ruan Yang’s expression unconsciously softened considerably.
She just enjoyed picking out the chili peppers for the one who truly loved spicy food but couldn’t eat it.
After speaking, she turned her head to look out the window.
It was already late autumn, and a somewhat desolate wind blew outside. Beyond the café was a large open space surrounded by flower beds, one of which had camellias already blooming.
And Xu Zhiyi’s car was parked right in front of those camellias.
Just as she looked over, the window of the red sports car rolled down slightly, revealing a fair wrist extending from it. Slender fingers began to play with the camellia closest to the car.
The delicate pink camellia made that hand appear even more snow-white, so pale it was almost dazzling, breathtakingly beautiful.
That flash of white seemed to leave a deep mark on Ruan Yang’s heart. When she closed her eyes, the image reappeared vividly before her.
She suddenly let out a soft laugh.
When she opened her eyes again, Ruan Yang met Qu Shanshan’s gaze.
“Thank you for your affection.” Her tone remained as calm as usual, as if what she had just heard wasn’t a confession but rather some routine meeting report.
“I listened carefully to everything you said, and honestly, I learned a lot from your words. I admire your courage, it’s something I’ve never possessed in all these years.”
Such formal words made Qu Shanshan’s expression change. She tightly gripped her pleated skirt, the one she had spent the entire morning searching her closet for, believing it was something Ruan Yang would like.
It took all her strength to force out a smile: “Usually, words like that are followed by rejection.”
Ruan Yang suddenly stood up. “Since you already know what I’m going to say next, I won’t say it out loud and make you sad.”
With that, she turned to leave.
But just as she took a step, Qu Shanshan called out to her again: “Senior!”
She stood up as well.
“Can I, ask why?” Her voice trembled.
“I have someone I like.”
“Who is it?” Qu Shanshan asked almost desperately.
She couldn’t accept it, she truly couldn’t.
Why is there suddenly someone she likes when there were no other Omegas around Senior Mingming before?
Ruan Yang turned her head, thought for a moment, and then shook it.
“She hasn’t agreed to it yet.”
After saying this, Ruan Yang hurriedly left the place.
Qu Shanshan watched as Ruan Yang walked out of the café and then jogged toward the red sports car.
She paused briefly in front of a camellia flower beside the car, hesitated for just two seconds, and then reached out to pluck it.
Then she opened the car door. Through the open door, Qu Shanshan could see Xu Zhiyi in the driver’s seat smiling at Ruan Yang as she got in.
To study acting techniques, Qu Shanshan had watched many of Xu Zhiyi’s films and TV shows.
But she had never seen Xu Zhiyi wear such a relaxed, natural, and contented smile in any of her works.
And Senior Ruan Yang seemed to radiate joy even from her back.
She clearly saw Senior Ruan Yang tucking the camellia flower behind Xu Zhiyi’s ear.
At that moment, facing the two not far away, a strange feeling rose from the depths of Qu Shanshan’s heart.
But she didn’t have the mood to dwell on it.
She lowered her gaze, sat back on the sofa, and picked up her coffee, downing it in one go.
After finishing it, she buried her face between her knees.
In the vast café, she was the only customer.
No one paid attention to this corner.
She didn’t know how much time had passed when a chattering sound reached her ears.
Thinking someone had come over, Qu Shanshan quickly lifted her head, wiped the glistening tears from the corners of her eyes, and looked toward the source of the sound.
Only to find a few waitstaff staring excitedly outside the door.
She followed their gaze to the window beside her, just as a snowflake landed on the glass in front of her.
Before going out, the weather forecast hadn’t mentioned that it would snow today.
The inside of the glass window was warm, and Qu Shanshan watched as the small snowflake slowly melted, turning into a tiny droplet of water.
The sadness in her heart surged up again, and she covered her face, sobbing quietly.
This was the first snow of the year.
And her fleeting first love.
They should probably get together in the next chapter, right? Sob sob (not making empty promises).
