Always Chasing My White Moonlight Omega - Chapter 45
The narrow alley was quickly filled with the scent of pheromones.
Xu Zhiyi used almost all her strength to push Ruan Yang away, but someone in their sensitive period had little remaining clarity of mind, and she couldn’t manage to shove her off.
Left with no choice, she maintained this position, struggling to pull out her phone from her pocket to send a message to Jiang Jiang, asking her to bring an inhibitor.
Recklessly releasing pheromones on the street was prohibited, as such intense scents could easily affect other Omegas nearby. Fearing that passersby might call the police, Xu Zhiyi had no option but to guide Ruan Yang further into the alley.
By the time Jiang Jiang finally located them based on the position Xu Zhiyi had sent, Ruan Yang had already buried her face in the crook of Xu Zhiyi’s neck, gently nuzzling against it.
There was an indescribable sense of attachment in the gesture.
Meanwhile, her Zhiyi sister was practically plastered against Assistant Ruan, her snow-white neck now marked with ambiguous red traces.
Seeing that the coat on Xu Zhiyi’s shoulder had slipped halfway off, Jiang Jiang froze at the alley’s entrance, too hesitant to move.
As a Beta, she couldn’t detect pheromones, but she could certainly sense the ambiguous atmosphere.
Was this something she was allowed to witness for free?
Hearing the footsteps, Xu Zhiyi turned with difficulty, Ruan Yang in tow, and spoke, “Quick, give it to me.”
Her voice came out in a soft, breathy tone she hadn’t expected, almost like a whisper or a moan.
Her intention was simply to urge Jiang Jiang to hand over the inhibitor, but the sound, when it reached Ruan Yang’s ears, made her breathing grow even heavier.
“Ah! ah?” Jiang Jiang couldn’t help but blush herself. Quickly realizing what Xu Zhiyi meant, she covered her eyes and cautiously inched forward step by step.
As soon as the inhibitor was taken from her hand, Jiang Jiang immediately turned and ran off, stationing herself at the alley’s entrance to keep watch for Xu Zhiyi.
Struggling to muster any strength, Xu Zhiyi had just been about to ask Jiang Jiang to open the inhibitor for her, but the girl had already fled.
Sighing softly at Jiang Jiang’s hurried departure, she had no choice but to lift her hand and slowly begin opening the inhibitor herself.
Only after the entire dose had been injected into Ruan Yang did Xu Zhiyi finally let out a sigh of relief.
Fortunately, the inhibitor took effect quickly on Ruan Yang. The intense scent of pine in the air didn’t linger for long, and Ruan Yang’s breathing gradually steadied.
However, she slumped against Xu Zhiyi as if completely drained of energy.
Xu Zhiyi, holding Ruan Yang, staggered a couple of steps before leaning against the wall. She glanced at Ruan Yang, whose face was still unusually flushed.
Worried that something might be wrong, Xu Zhiyi instructed Jiang Jiang to bring the car closer.
Thankfully, there weren’t many people at the flower market that day, so the sudden outburst of Ruan Yang’s pheromones hadn’t caused much of a stir. Xu Zhiyi helped Ruan Yang into the car and directed Jiang Jiang to drive to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Xu Zhiyi put on a face mask and sunglasses before taking Ruan Yang to see a doctor.
The hospital was a branch of the Capital Hospital, with synchronized records. The doctor retrieved Ruan Yang’s previous registration history from the system, carefully reviewed the medical records, and then studied Ruan Yang for a long while.
“Is something wrong, Doctor?” Xu Zhiyi asked, growing anxious at the doctor’s grave expression.
“There are indeed some issues.” The doctor looked up at Xu Zhiyi and asked, “Are you her partner?”
Xu Zhiyi was bundled up tightly, so the doctor didn’t recognize her.
At that moment, a flicker of emotion crossed Xu Zhiyi’s eyes behind her sunglasses. Her red lips parted slightly as if she wanted to say something.
But her gaze dropped, sweeping over Ruan Yang’s face for a moment. The sight of Ruan Yang’s tightly closed eyes and furrowed brows made its way into her heart.
The words she was about to say twisted on her lips and turned into: “Yes, I am.”
“That makes things easier,” the doctor said. “The issue isn’t too serious. It’s just a delayed differentiation. Over the next couple of years, her rut cycles will be more intense than those of typical Alphas. Take a few days off and give her some proper ‘comfort.’ Once her rut is over, she should be fine.”
The doctor, being older, didn’t even blink when mentioning the word “comfort.”
Xu Zhiyi, on the other hand despite having filmed intimate scenes during her years in the entertainment industry found her cheeks inexplicably warming at that moment.
She asked softly, “How many days off would be appropriate?”
The doctor, who had already started typing, looked up at Xu Zhiyi again.
“Take a week off first,” the doctor said. “If her rut hasn’t passed by then, bring her back to the hospital.”
On the way back, Xu Zhiyi turned her head and cast a rather complicated look at Ruan Yang beside her.
A week.
It had to be a whole week.
Jiang Jiang noticed Xu Zhiyi’s expression in the rearview mirror and asked curiously, “What’s wrong, Sister Zhiyi? You don’t look too well. Did something happen to Assistant Ruan?”
Even though Ruan Yang was no longer Director Wu Jun’s assistant, Jiang Jiang seemed used to the title and hadn’t changed it.
Xu Zhiyi’s expression grew even more complicated. She turned to look out the window.
After a long silence, just as Jiang Jiang thought Xu Zhiyi wouldn’t speak again, she suddenly said, “Please ask the crew for a week off for me later.”
“Huh?” Jiang Jiang was puzzled. “What’s wrong, Sister Zhiyi? Why do you need time off?”
Xu Zhiyi rubbed her forehead. She had personally claimed to be Ruan Yang’s partner she couldn’t go back on her word now.
She sighed. “Just say I sprained my ankle and the doctor said I need a week of rest. I’ll work hard to catch up on the schedule afterward.”
“Sprained your ankle?” Jiang Jiang glanced at Xu Zhiyi again.
Sister Zhiyi hadn’t sprained her ankle, and her face was even a little flushed.
Her eyes shifted, and she looked at Ruan Yang again.
She had a rough idea of what was going on. A competent assistant wouldn’t ask too many questions. Jiang Jiang nodded. “Don’t worry, Sister Zhiyi. I’ll handle your leave. Rest well these next few days.”
When they arrived at the hotel, Xu Zhiyi brought Ruan Yang to her own room. She and Jiang Jiang laid Ruan Yang on the bed. After Jiang Jiang left the room, Xu Zhiyi felt Ruan Yang’s forehead, then went to pour her a glass of water and brought out the medicine prescribed by the doctor, intending to give it to her.
As soon as Xu Zhiyi approached, Ruan Yang’s brows furrowed tightly, as if trying to avoid her closeness.
With every step Xu Zhiyi took closer, Ruan Yang seemed to instinctively shrink further into the bed. When Xu Zhiyi sat on the edge of the bed and brought the water glass to Ruan Yang’s lips, Ruan Yang suddenly raised her hand and pushed the cup away.
Xu Zhiyi’s hand was forced away by this movement. As her fingers loosened, the glass water cup fell to the ground with a sharp “crack,” shattering into pieces.
This scene eerily overlapped with the night of Ruan Yang’s first differentiation.
Xu Zhiyi was dazed for a moment before turning to look at Ruan Yang.
She was rejecting others’ proximity.
Realizing this, Xu Zhiyi pressed her lips together, lowered her head in thought for a moment, and then slowly began to release her pheromones. “Ruan Yang?” she called out softly.
The sound seemed to soothe Ruan Yang, who abruptly stopped retreating. Like a kitten, she sniffed the air and then slowly moved closer to Xu Zhiyi.
Noticing that her pheromones genuinely seemed to calm Ruan Yang, Xu Zhiyi raised an eyebrow slightly.
“Because she differentiated late, her dependence on her first partner will become extremely strong. In short, she will uncontrollably develop an obsession-like attachment to her first partner.”
The doctor’s words, spoken just before they left the clinic, resurfaced in Xu Zhiyi’s mind.
This made her scrutinize Ruan Yang’s expression once more.
She raised her hand and slipped the pill from her palm into her own mouth.
At that very moment, Ruan Yang drew near. Her eyes suddenly opened, amber pupils burning with intense possessiveness.
Then she leaned in and kissed Xu Zhiyi’s lips with unerring precision.
With a gentle push of her tongue, Xu Zhiyi effortlessly transferred the pill into Ruan Yang’s mouth.
The kiss turned bitterly sharp as the pill dissolved, yet the air filled with an indescribably sweet fragrance, a blend of rose and cedar.
Ruan Yang kissed her more fiercely, as if addicted to something.
The sound of their intimate exchange echoed softly in the room.
An uncontrollable obsession born from the first partner.
For a fleeting moment, Xu Zhiyi even thought resignedly that this wasn’t so bad.
At least, for now, Ruan Yang couldn’t leave her.
In the past, this inexplicable dependence had also made Ruan Yang treat her well.
Besides, Xu Zhiyi was used to being fickle perhaps she was just fixated on Ruan Yang for now, but she might fancy someone else later.
Yet as the kiss deepened and Ruan Yang’s feverish fingers pressed against her waist, a feeling of resentment suddenly took root and sprouted in Xu Zhiyi’s heart.
She was too proud to settle for an obsession born of primal instinct.
She wanted Ruan Yang’s love to overflow from the depths of her heart.
Ideally, to the point where she could have no one else.
This thought gradually clouded Xu Zhiyi’s senses. She lifted her hand to press against the nape of Ruan Yang’s neck, closing the distance between them even further.
The gesture seemed to provoke Ruan Yang, who broke the kiss. With one hand, she pinned both of Xu Zhiyi’s wrists above her head.
Their heated breaths mingled, and the intense obsession in Ruan Yang’s eyes felt almost tangible, sending shivers down Xu Zhiyi’s spine.
Her shoulders began to tremble.
During intimate scenes in the past, her co-stars had always held back, since it was just acting.
This was the first time Xu Zhiyi had so directly felt the power disparity between an Alpha and an Omega.
She tried to break free from Ruan Yang’s restraint, but it was futile.
Even worse, Ruan Yang interpreted this movement as an attempt to escape and once again lowered her head to fiercely bite Xu Zhiyi’s already flushed and swollen lips.
Afraid that any further movement might be misunderstood by Ruan Yang, Xu Zhiyi dared not move again.
Both of their breaths gradually grew scorching. Piece by piece, their clothing fell away, and the two distinct scents in the air slowly intertwined, eventually merging completely into one.
After it was over, Ruan Yang still seemed to have energy to spare.
But Xu Zhiyi didn’t even have the strength to lift a hand.
Panting lightly in Ruan Yang’s embrace, she felt Ruan Yang’s tongue gently lick the gland at the nape of her neck.
There was no overt aggression, but Xu Zhiyi could still sense the controlling desire emanating from a top-tier Alpha.
Beneath that intense possessiveness, however, was a deep respect for her wishes.
What else could she do?
With great effort, Xu Zhiyi sat up and brushed aside the long hair covering her neck.
She sighed, yielding and compromising.
“Bite me.”
