After Transmigrating Into The Book, The Villain Only Wanted To Destroy The World - Chapter 9
What could Mo Rubai do, even if he knew of Immortal Lingzhi’s schemes?
His expression darkened. Not to mention that he lacked any evidence, even if he were to expose Shen Zhiwei in front of everyone, who would believe him? What exactly did the Immortal hope to achieve by going to such lengths to feed him the Soul Spirit Flower? He certainly did not believe it was to cultivate his potential. Perhaps in three days, he would know the Immortal’s true intentions.
“Why did you feed him the Soul Spirit Flower?” Murong Baili’s eyes rolled as he spoke. “Tell me, and I promise not to tell anyone else!”
“You are the outsider here,” Shen Zhiwei frowned. “Since you are fine, you may leave.”
Shen Zhiwei had no desire to keep him by his side. As a member of Mo Rubai’s future harem, even if they had not fallen for each other at first sight, there was no guarantee they would not in the future. As the only man in the protagonist’s harem, his potential was not to be underestimated.
Murong Baili was provoked by this dismissal. “You were the one who bought me, the one who saved me, and now you are the one telling me to leave.”
He let out a soft laugh and leaned in close, a faint, delicate fragrance washing over Shen Zhiwei. “Zhiwei, you truly have a heart of stone.”
Shen Zhiwei felt his scalp tingle and pushed him ten meters away. “What are you doing?”
“Why are you so fierce?” Murong Baili clutched his chest in feigned injury. “My heart aches.”
Shen Zhiwei: “Murong Baili, you…”
“I am here,” Murong Baili said, finding it even more amusing that the man remained so unresponsive even at this stage. “Do not be so loud; you are frightening me.”
Is this the type of man Mo Rubai likes? Shen Zhiwei felt the protagonist had a rather unique taste.
“Someone is coming!” Murong Baili’s expression suddenly changed. “I will go hide!”
Before Shen Zhiwei could respond, a white figure flashed by, and Murong Baili vanished.
“Junior Brother!”
The person arriving was Yuan Jiangning.
Shen Zhiwei watched him with complex emotions. Yuan Jiangning was the least villainous of all the villains. He had done so much for the protagonist, Mo Rubai, that it was a mystery why he had been labeled a villain. However, Shen Zhiwei did not know Yuan Jiangning’s fate. Since this world was a book, everyone should have an ending, but the clues left by Sanba were few and far between. There were only two possibilities: either Sanba was doing it on purpose, or Sanba did not know either. Shen Zhiwei leaned toward the latter.
“Senior Brother, what brings you here?” Shen Zhiwei nodded slightly. “Is there an urgent matter?”
“I know you are very worried about him,” Yuan Jiangning sighed. “But A Bai is a good child. Perhaps there is a way to handle this that serves everyone.”
“Senior Brother!” Shen Zhiwei interrupted him. “This is my own affair. It has nothing to do with you. You only need to act as if you know nothing.”
Hearing this, Yuan Jiangning sighed. So be it. Given the things he had done to the Shen family, it was natural for A Wei to resent him.
“If there is nothing else, I will take my leave.” Shen Zhiwei nodded to Yuan Jiangning and departed immediately. Yuan Jiangning watched his retreating back and sighed again. How could it possibly have nothing to do with him?
Meanwhile, Mo Rubai was not comfortable kneeling at all; the sensation of being restrained made him afraid to move. Suddenly, a voice emanated from the jade pendant inside his robes.
“Hold your breath. Circulate your energy. Gather your strength in your dantian. Yes, maintain that posture. Do not move.”
It was the cold, clear voice of a woman. Mo Rubai started and cautiously asked, “Who are you?”
“You are not worthy of knowing!” the woman replied haughtily. “Once you achieve the Golden Core stage, you will naturally be able to see me!”
This jade pendant was something Mo Rubai had obtained by chance. He had known at first glance that it held a secret, but he had never imagined a woman lived inside. Soon, however, Mo Rubai realized he could no longer hear her; everything just now felt like a hallucination.
At the same time, within Shen Zhiwei’s consciousness, Sanba sneered. He had only been a step too slow, and everything had fallen apart. The person inside the jade pendant was Mo Rubai’s greatest secret weapon: a goddess of the Divine Realm named Xuanyuan. After she had accidentally perished, a wisp of her divine consciousness had been hidden within an artifact that had fallen into this continent, only to be picked up by Mo Rubai.
Mo Rubai, unaware of what had transpired, tentatively touched the pendant. Before he could perceive anything, he saw a pair of shoes appear before him.
