After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 50
Xie Yinian gently drew her into her arms, kissing away the tears at the corners of her eyes. Her hand moved in soft, rhythmic pats along Xia Ruoxi’s back as she bent close to whisper soothingly in her ear, “Don’t cry, shh, don’t cry, okay?”
Xia Ruoxi gripped the collar of Xie Yinian’s shirt and buried her face against her chest, sobbing quietly.
Xie Yinian kept patting her back, comforting her in that same calm, gentle tone.
It took a long while before Xia Ruoxi finally calmed down. Embarrassed, she pulled away from Xie Yinian’s embrace, her cheeks flushed a delicate pink.
Xie Yinian looked at her reddened eyes and the slight downturn of her lips—she looked just like a small, wronged little bunny.
So cute.
Xie Yinian tucked a few strands of hair behind her ear and explained softly, “Things aren’t the way you think. That day, she only stayed at my place for one night because she had nowhere else to go. Nothing happened between us. The red marks you saw were mosquito bites. Will you believe me?”
Her voice carried a hint of uncertainty—she truly didn’t know how Xia Ruoxi would respond.
“Oh.” Xia Ruoxi lowered her head and murmured softly, lost in thought.
That was it? Did that mean she believed her or not?
“Ruoxi?” Xie Yinian called gently.
Xia Ruoxi burrowed back into her arms, mumbling, “It’s not that I don’t believe you, it’s just.”
Xie Yinian held her tighter. “Just what?”
“Forget it,” Xia Ruoxi sighed.
“How can I forget it?” Xie Yinian coaxed. “If something’s on your mind, tell me. Don’t keep it bottled up. We should be honest with each other from now on. If something happens, I’ll tell you too—no more secrets between us, okay?”
After all, it was because of one misunderstanding that they had been separated for so long. Xie Yinian never wanted to experience that kind of pain again.
Xia Ruoxi bit her lip, then finally said after a pause, “I just don’t like you being that close to her.”
Close enough to stay under the same roof—an Alpha and an Omega alone together. Was that really appropriate?
The meaning was clear—she was jealous.
Noticing the faint sourness in her tone, Xie Yinian chuckled, rubbed her head, and said gently, “Alright.”
Xia Ruoxi gave her a light push and said, “Let’s eat first.”
“Mm.”
Xia Ruoxi had never really known what Xie Yinian did for a living. The woman was always so secretive, which only made her more curious. After much persistent questioning, Xie Yinian finally told her the truth—she was that popular comic artist.
From then on, Xia Ruoxi often pressed her down into the chair and made her draw. Xie Yinian could only sigh in defeat. What am I supposed to do when my wife is addicted to my comics?
Soon, Xie Yinian’s series hit the shelves of major bookstores and sold like crazy. She even held a fan signing event.
The two of them stayed in their cozy place for a while, living a sweet, peaceful life. But considering Xia Ruoxi still had a job, Xie Yinian knew she couldn’t keep taking time off to stay with her. So, they decided to move back to Xia Ruoxi’s villa.
The day they moved back, Xia Ruoxi had no appetite at all. Everything she ate made her feel nauseous. Sometimes she would even wake up in the middle of the night retching in the bathroom, unable to throw up but still trembling. Seeing her red-rimmed eyes broke Xie Yinian’s heart.
“Maybe we should go to the hospital,” Xie Yinian said anxiously. “I won’t feel at ease otherwise.”
“Alright,” Xia Ruoxi replied weakly, her face pale as she nodded.
They went to the hospital and registered for a consultation.
Their doctor was a friendly-looking woman in her forties.
After checking Xia Ruoxi’s pulse, the doctor asked, “Have you had your period in the past two months?”
Xia Ruoxi blinked in surprise, then shook her head. “No.”
The doctor paused thoughtfully. “Loss of appetite and frequent nausea, these symptoms suggest pregnancy. Of course, we can’t be sure without a proper test. Let’s run an examination.”
Xia Ruoxi and Xie Yinian both froze, blurting out in unison, “Pregnant?”
The doctor nodded.
Xia Ruoxi pressed her lips together, too stunned to react. The news had come too suddenly.
Seeing her dazed expression, Xie Yinian rested a hand on her shoulder and said softly, “It’s not confirmed yet. Let’s just get the test done first, okay?”
Xia Ruoxi nodded faintly.
They took the elevator up to the fourth floor for the exam. While waiting outside the examination room, Xie Yinian could barely sit still.
If she really is pregnant, what then?
They had only just started dating. Their relationship, while genuine, wasn’t yet deeply rooted. Not everyone could love the same person forever—what if, over time, their feelings faded?
A child meant family. Responsibility. Was Xia Ruoxi ready for that? Would she even want to keep the baby? To raise it together with her?
Her mind spun in circles until the examination room door finally opened, and Xia Ruoxi walked out.
“How did it go?” Xie Yinian immediately stood and hurried over.
“They said we need to wait for the report,” Xia Ruoxi replied, sitting down again. She placed a hand over her abdomen, her expression full of unease.
Xie Yinian crouched down in front of her, laying her hand gently over Xia Ruoxi’s. Looking up into her eyes, she said softly, “Don’t worry. Maybe it’s nothing. But even if it’s true, I’ll take care of both you and the baby—I promise.”
Her tone was firm and sincere. No matter what happened, she would take responsibility. After all, it was because of her that Xia Ruoxi might be pregnant.
It was rare for an Alpha to impregnate an Omega. Most Alphas and Omegas chose to start families with Betas, who, despite lacking pheromone cycles, had a special physiology that allowed them to bear children with either A or O partners.
Only a very small fraction of Alphas could make an Omega conceive.
So, am I really one of those rare few? Xie Yinian thought in disbelief.
Xia Ruoxi, meanwhile, had already made up her mind—she believed in Xie Yinian. She trusted that Xie Yinian would take good care of her and their child. If she truly was pregnant, she would keep the baby.
Just then, the examination room door slid open. The doctor walked out, holding a clipboard.
“Congratulations, Miss Xia Ruoxi,” she said with a smile. “You’re pregnant.”
