After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 37
The two of them were still kissing when they suddenly noticed a traffic officer approaching. Xia Qiqi sobered up almost instantly, patting Xie Yinian on the shoulder.
Xie Yinian opened her eyes, lips still brushing against hers, and asked groggily, “What’s wrong?”
Xia Qiqi gently nudged her and, catching her breath, said, “Someone’s coming.”
Reluctantly, Xie Yinian let go, planting a lingering kiss on Xia Qiqi’s lips before returning to her own seat.
Blushing, Xia Qiqi looked down and tidied her clothes.
The traffic officer issued a ticket to a nearby car and left, not noticing the two inside.
Their little moment had been interrupted. Xie Yinian felt slightly annoyed but made a mental note to find a more secluded spot next time.
She started the car and drove away.
The city streets were bathed in neon lights, vibrant and colorful. Xie Yinian suddenly asked, “How about we check out a night market?”
Xia Qiqi nodded. “Sure.”
They parked in a designated area and unbuckled their seat belts before stepping out.
The two of them wandered aimlessly through the bustling streets, where vendors were selling everything from grilled food to goldfish scooping. The atmosphere was lively and cheerful.
Xie Yinian held Xia Qiqi’s hand as they approached a stall. The vendor greeted them enthusiastically: “What would you like, ladies?”
“What do you feel like eating?” Xie Yinian asked, turning to Xia Qiqi.
“This one,” Xia Qiqi said, pointing at a cheese hot dog.
“Got it!” The vendor bagged the hot dog and handed it to her.
“Thanks,” Xia Qiqi said.
“I’ll have some grilled meat, then,” Xie Yinian added.
With their food in hand, they continued walking through the street, eating as they strolled.
“Is yours good?” Xie Yinian asked.
“Delicious. You try some.” Xia Qiqi offered her the food.
Xie Yinian took a bite, nodding. “Mmm—yep, it’s good.”
After wandering for a while, Xia Qiqi suddenly stopped. Xie Yinian looked at her curiously. “What’s wrong?”
“I need to use the restroom. Wait here for me,” Xia said.
Xie Yinian nodded. “Okay.”
Xia Qiqi walked a short distance to a public restroom.
Xie Yinian waited by the roadside, a bit bored, her eyes scanning the surroundings. Her attention was caught by a jewelry store behind her.
The shop’s lights gleamed, gold and silver sparkling inside. She pushed open the glass door and stepped in.
“Hello, welcome!”
Xie Yinian examined the rings on display. After picking a few that weren’t quite right, a sales assistant asked, “Are you looking for a gift for the young lady outside?” She had noticed the two stunning women standing outside earlier, hard to miss.
Xie Yinian nodded. “Yes.”
“This one would suit her perfectly,” the assistant suggested, pointing forward.
Xie Yinian’s eyes fell on a diamond-studded ring in the display case. “Could I see this one, please?”
“Of course.” The assistant brought the ring out.
Xie Yinian held it, admiring the glittering diamond. It was beautiful. She felt a flutter of desire. Though the price was a little high, she could afford it.
“I’ll take this one. Please wrap it for me.”
“Certainly.”
Xia Qiqi returned from the restroom to find Xie Yinian standing quietly under a nearby streetlight, waiting.
The night wind was brisk. Xia Qiqi shivered slightly, rubbing her hands together as she walked over. Xie Yinian looked down, cupped her hands around Xia Qiqi’s to warm them, and asked, “Cold?”
“A little,” Xia Qiqi admitted.
“Then let’s head back.” Xie Yinian slid her hand into her coat pocket, holding Xia Qiqi’s hand as they walked.
Xia Qiqi walked beside her, quietly observing her partner.
Six months had passed since they started dating. So much had happened in that time—things they could never have imagined when they were merely collaborators, yet now here they were as lovers.
Xia Qiqi watched the leaves blowing across the path and said, “Autumn is coming soon.”
Xie Yinian squeezed her hand. “Yeah, the weather’s turning chilly. You know, it’s already been six months since we got together. I never thought I’d ever end up with you—it feels like a dream.”
Xia Qiqi pinched her cheek playfully. “Does it still feel like a dream?”
“Ouch! Be gentle!” Xie Yinian protested.
“Still feels like a dream?” Xia Qiqi teased, smiling.
Xie Yinian rubbed her face and shook her head. “No, not anymore.”
Xia Qiqi’s eyes sparkled, smiling softly—a rare sight that captivated Xie Yinian.
Slowly, Xie Yinian leaned down and pressed a light, fleeting kiss on Xia Qiqi’s lips.
“Let’s go home,” she said with a smile.
Home—what a warm, comforting word.
Touched, Xia Qiqi held Xie Yinian’s hand tightly and whispered, “Yeah, home.”
