After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 36
The bar was dimly lit. In a corner booth sat a cold, distant-looking woman, accompanied by a stunning blonde with striking blue eyes.
The bartender glanced at the two beautiful women and smiled. “What would you ladies like to drink?”
An Lin rested her chin on her hand. “Why don’t you make a recommendation?”
The bartender nodded. “We just got a new batch of wine called Ai Wine. It has a really nice flavor. Would you like to try it?”
“Sure,” An Lin replied with a smile.
Once the bartender went to prepare the drinks, Xia Qiqi turned and asked, “You really want to drink?”
“Why not?” An Lin raised an eyebrow.
“Since we came all the way here, we might as well enjoy ourselves,” An Lin said.
Before long, the bartender brought over the drinks.
“Here you go,” he said.
“Thank you,” An Lin replied, picking up a glass. She looked at Xia Qiqi. “Are you going to have any?”
Xia Qiqi shook her head.
An Lin sipped her wine, while Xia Qiqi’s gaze lingered on the bartender as he polished a bottle. She finally asked, “Where are you from?”
The bartender was a little surprised that the aloof woman was talking to him. “Shandong,” he answered.
“Oh.” Xia Qiqi said thoughtfully, then asked, “Do you know an entrepreneur with the surname Xia?”
The bartender paused mid-polish, then resumed slowly, shaking his head. “No, I don’t.”
Xia Qiqi narrowed her eyes. “Really? You don’t know him?”
He nodded.
“Then you must know this person,” Xia Qiqi said, pushing a photo toward him.
The bartender froze as his eyes fell on the photo. His pupils dilated. “Where did you get this?”
Xia Qiqi’s voice was cold. “I have my ways. I suggest you tell the truth about what happened back then. My people are here now—you can’t run.”
The bartender’s eyes flicked to the corner, where several men in black suits stood out against the bar’s atmosphere. He knew immediately—they were Xia Qiqi’s people.
He sighed. “It was Mr. Xia who ordered me to switch the materials. At the time, I was confused—why would he switch things in his own daughter’s company? But I took the money and did it. Then, by chance, I overheard.” He trailed off.
Xia Qiqi’s recorder was quietly capturing everything. Seeing him stop, she asked, “What did you overhear?”
In a low voice, the bartender said, “I heard Mr. Xia talking to his wife. They said you weren’t their biological daughter, that you were adopted. That’s why I had the guts to do bad things at your company.”
Xia Qiqi frowned. She wasn’t their biological daughter—then who was she?
“I’ve said all I have to. Do what you will with me,” the bartender said, resigned; he knew he couldn’t escape today.
“No, I’m not planning to punish you yet,” Xia Qiqi said, shaking her head.
The bartender was taken aback. “Then, what are you?”
Xia Qiqi said, “I’ll give you a chance to redeem yourself. Help me with this, and once it’s done, you might even have your sentence reduced.”
The bartender thought for a moment, then nodded. “Alright.”
After that, the manager called the bartender away.
Xia Qiqi lowered her gaze and sipped her wine.
An Lin looked puzzled. “You’re not their biological daughter, what does that mean? Do you think what the bartender said is true?”
Xia Qiqi shook her head. “I don’t know.”
An Lin asked, “So, will you let them off?”
Xia Qiqi gave a cold laugh. “Old debts and new debts—they all count.”
Whether she was their biological daughter or not, since they had never treated her like a human being, she wouldn’t hold back.
At home, Xie Yinian grew increasingly anxious waiting for Xia Qiqi. Was Xia Qiqi still working late? Why wasn’t she back yet?
The butler, seeing Xie Yinian staring like a statue, said, “Madam, you should eat first.”
Xie Yunan shook her head. “I have no appetite.”
Her phone rang. Seeing the caller ID, her eyes lit up, and she answered quickly.
“Hello, Xia has gotten drunk at a bar. Can you come pick her up?”
Xie Yinian was momentarily stunned by the unfamiliar female voice. Hearing that Xia Qiqi was drunk, she hurriedly asked for the location.
“Which bar are you at?”
“We’re at the xxx Bar.”
“Got it. I’ll be there as soon as possible.”
After hanging up, Xie Yinian grabbed her coat and car keys and rushed out.
“Madam, where are you going so late?” Aunt Jiang asked.
Before she could finish, she saw Xie Yinian rush out, muttering at the untouched dinner. “Normally, Madam has a good appetite, but without the young lady here, she can’t even eat.”
At the bar.
A woman in a trench coat, dusted from the journey, walked in, scanning the room.
Nearby, her wife, Xia Qiqi, was sprawled over another woman, who gently patted her face to wake her.
Xie Yinian approached. Hearing footsteps, An Lin looked up and sized up the newcomer.
The woman was soft-featured, with chestnut curls cascading down her back, delicate features, and almond-shaped eyes full of warmth. She was tall and elegant.
An Lin raised an eyebrow—Xia Qiqi’s partner was surprisingly attractive.
“I’ll take her,” Xie Yinian said softly, lifting Xia Qiqi off An Lin.
The familiar scent made Xia Qiqi relax against her.
“I’ll leave her in your care,” An Lin said, picking up her bag and turning to leave.
Xia Qiqi, flushed, murmured something into Xie Yinian’s chest. Leaning closer, Xie Yinian caught her words:
“You’re so bad, Yinian, utterly bad.”
Xie Yinian chuckled. Even drunk, Xia Qiqi was still scolding her—last night must have really exhausted her.
She helped Xia Qiqi into the car. Just as she reached to buckle her seatbelt, Xia Qiqi half-opened her eyes, squinting at her.
“What is it?” Xie Yinian asked.
Xia Qiqi wrapped her arms around Xie Yinian and tilted her head up for a kiss, mumbling hazily, “Even bad, I like it.”
Xie Yinian’s eyes curved in a smile. She leaned in, holding Xia Qiqi’s waist, deepening the kiss.
