After Transmigrating into a Scummy Alpha, I Became a Tool Person - Chapter 33
Xia Qiqi stared at the document for a long while before finally speaking, her voice soft: “Thank you.”
An Lin shook her head. “Don’t mention it. At the time, it just felt strange to me, so I asked a friend to look into it. I thought it was something from so long ago that nothing would come of it, but I didn’t expect him to actually find something.”
“I always thought it was just a mistake on my part back then,” Xia Qiqi said.
Years ago, her company had suffered a product-quality issue. Someone had bought an air conditioner from her company, and because a screw on the unit was loose, the person accidentally got hit by it and ended up in the hospital. The incident even made the news. Soon after, more complaints surfaced, accusing her company of selling defective products or counterfeit goods. As a result, no one wanted to carry her company’s products anymore.
At the time, she had assumed it was the production department’s mismanagement and that employees had cut corners. She fired those responsible and paid compensation to the affected customers, losing a lot of money in the process.
She never imagined that someone behind the scenes—someone very close to her—was sabotaging everything.
“I just knew something wasn’t right. How could this happen out of nowhere?” An Lin said.
Xia Qiqi looked up at the photo again, her gaze lingering for a moment. “I’ll get to the bottom of this.”
“Mm,” An Lin replied.
“Meow.” Bubu jumped onto the table, rubbing her head against An Lin’s hand. An Lin chuckled. “Let’s eat first.”
Xie Yinian had taken a hot shower after exercising and gone straight to bed. In her sleep, she was restless—her cheeks flushed, her body hot. She woke up in the middle of the night feeling uncomfortable but dozed off again in a haze.
The next day, Xia Qiqi recommended some of the city’s best apartments to An Lin for her to consider.
Closing her laptop, Xia Qiqi rubbed her temples and glanced at the time. It was nearly afternoon, and Xie Yinian was still asleep. Could she really sleep this well?
Footsteps sounded on the stairs. Xia Qiqi turned to see Xie Yinian, wearing a mask and looking utterly listless, her steps unsteady.
A strong scent of milk pheromones wafted through the air, and Xia Qiqi frowned. “What’s wrong?”
“I, I think I have a fever,” Xie Yinian panted heavily, her voice low.
Xia Qiqi studied her for a moment. She didn’t look like she had a fever. “Is it your heat period?” she asked uncertainly.
Xie Yinian hesitated, then nodded. “I think so. I’ll go take the suppressant.” She started to head back to her room but could barely take two steps without panting and almost tripping over something.
Xia Qiqi: “…”
Xia Qiqi watched silently.
“Do you want me to help?” she asked, stepping forward.
“Mm, that’d be great,” Xie Yinian said, leaning against the wall.
Xia Qiqi slid an arm around her and helped her upstairs. They were so close that the sweet, milky scent surrounded them, and Xia Qiqi felt a flush rise to her cheeks.
Once in the bedroom, Xia Qiqi released her and asked, “Where’s your suppressant?”
“In my bag,” Xie Yinian said in broken words. She sat down and pulled off her mask to breathe.
Xia Qiqi fetched the suppressant, rummaging through the bag until she finally found it. She prepared to administer it into Xie Yinian’s arm—but Xie Yinian dodged.
“You.” Xia Qiqi began.
“I’m afraid of pain,” Xie Yinian admitted, her voice trembling. She hated injections more than anything.
Xia Qiqi: “…”
Xia Qiqi sighed.
“Can I not do it?” Xie Yinian pleaded.
“No,” Xia Qiqi said firmly.
“There’s another way,” Xie Yinian murmured in a low voice.
Xia Qiqi raised a brow. “Another way?”
Xie Yinian’s eyes lifted to Xia Qiqi’s lips, and she licked her own. Then, suddenly, she pulled Xia Qiqi close, wrapping a hand lightly around her waist and tilting her head for a kiss.
It was like finding water in a desert.
Xia Qiqi’s cheeks heated—she hadn’t expected that to be Xie Yinian’s “other way.” She lightly pushed back, a small protest, but Xie Yinian held her tighter.
Xia Qiqi let go of her hands and wrapped them around Xie Yinian’s neck, closing her eyes.
Their pheromones mingled—a refreshing minty scent laced with sweet milkiness.
But kissing wasn’t enough. Xie Yinian began to remove Xia Qiqi’s clothes, her hands exploring.
“Mm.” Xia Qiqi shivered, letting out a soft gasp.
Xie Yinian’s hands wandered downward.
“No.” Xia Qiqi’s voice wavered with a hint of tears.
Xie Yinian’s eyes cleared. Seeing Xia Qiqi so vulnerable, she gently brushed away the tears from her cheeks. “I’m sorry,” she whispered.
Xia Qiqi buried her face in Xie Yinian’s neck. “You’re such a bad guy.”
Xie Yinian pulled her closer. “Yeah. I’m a bad guy.”
Hearing Xie Yinian call herself a bad guy, Xia Qiqi couldn’t help but laugh through her tears.
Rubbing Xia Qiqi’s hair, Xie Yinian said suddenly, “I don’t want to just be friends anymore. Should we try something?” Her voice trembled nervously.
Xia Qiqi’s eyes flickered, then she nodded. A soft “mm” came from her chest.
Xie Yinian’s heart leapt. She leaned down, eager to look at Xia Qiqi, only to notice her ears were bright red.
“Lift your head so I can see,” Xie Yinian said with a smile.
Xia Qiqi hid in her neck, too shy to look.
“Girlfriend?” Xie Yinian asked gently.
Xia Qiqi stayed still, pretending to be an ostrich.
A small whimper came from above, and Xia Qiqi hurriedly sat up, concerned. “Did I hurt you?”
Xie Yinian stifled a laugh, realizing Xia Qiqi was teasing her, and mock-punched her shoulder.
“Bad!”
Xie Yinian found this side of her so adorable and leaned in to peck her lips.
“Smack!” Xia Qiqi blushed deeply.
