After Transmigrating into a Scum Gong, the Rich Young Master Got Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 12
Chapter 12
Li Xiao immediately blushed: “I…”
“Just kidding,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Thank you for worrying about me.”
In the afternoon, the two visited a few more exhibition halls they hadn’t seen yet. Lu Zhaoyi didn’t reject Li Xiao’s closeness and indulged him in everything while they were playing.
But things were different once they returned to the hotel. Li Xiao disliked taking medicine and was always averse to the medicated meal. Seeing a hint of grievance on his face, Lu Zhaoyi said, “Xiao, I listened to you about everything during the day. Shouldn’t you listen to me at night? Hurry up and eat.”
Li Xiao blinked: “Night?”
“Mhm.” Lu Zhaoyi asked him, “In the eyes of you artists, is it not considered nighttime now?”
Li Xiao didn’t respond, quietly picked up the bowl, and ate the medicated meal with a small spoon. Lu Zhaoyi watched him with a constant smile. He was smiling, but his gaze was really out of concern that Li Xiao might be unwilling to eat, which Li Xiao naturally understood.
“Done,” Li Xiao pushed the bowl away silently after finishing. Lu Zhaoyi smiled.
“Still the same, huh?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Truly not changed at all.”
“President Lu…”
“It’s fine,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “At least you finished it.”
Li Xiao asked, “Are we going back tomorrow?”
Lu Zhaoyi looked at him and said, “Yes, we’ll go back around noon. I’ll message Liang Xing.”
Li Xiao nodded: “Okay.”
Lu Zhaoyi took some snacks and drinks to the floor-to-ceiling window. Li Xiao thought he simply wanted to enjoy the river view, so he followed him. However, Lu Zhaoyi’s mind wasn’t on the view at all; he kept glancing at his phone.
“President Lu, are you troubled by something?”
Lu Zhaoyi shook his head: “Almost.”
Li Xiao didn’t know what he was referring to until he heard a sound outside the window, and then he saw fireworks blooming across the sky.
Li Xiao’s eyes were filled with surprise: “President Lu, did you specifically arrange for those to be set off?”
Lu Zhaoyi smiled: “I did.”
Li Xiao turned and tightly hugged Lu Zhaoyi. He said, “President Lu, thank you.”
Because the hug came so suddenly, Lu Zhaoyi even felt his heart pounding rapidly. He only relaxed slightly when he remembered Li Xiao was hugging him, so he couldn’t see his expression.
“As long as you like it,” Lu Zhaoyi said.
Just as he managed to calm his emotions, Li Xiao lightly kissed his cheek.
Lu Zhaoyi immediately felt that all his efforts to remain composed were wasted, and the culprit was looking at him happily.
“Li Xiao.”
“President Lu, what is it?” Li Xiao blinked his foxy eyes and asked him, “Am I not allowed to kiss you?”
Lu Zhaoyi admitted he was stumped by the question. With Li Xiao’s innocent gaze, he couldn’t possibly say no: “No, just a bit surprised.”
Li Xiao tilted his head: “If President Lu really minds, I can let you kiss me back.”
Lu Zhaoyi almost thought he misheard, but then thought he probably hadn’t: “No need. Let’s watch the fireworks.”
“Oh, okay.”
Hearing the disappointment in his tone, Lu Zhaoyi immediately felt a little regretful.
Should I not have refused him?
Li Xiao had already turned around and sat down to watch the fireworks. Lu Zhaoyi quietly said, “Li Xiao.”
He initially thought if Li Xiao didn’t hear him, he would just drop it, but Li Xiao immediately turned to look at him.
Lu Zhaoyi walked towards him and sat down next to him. Lu Zhaoyi took the drink cup from his hand and set it farther away.
He called out again, “Li Xiao.”
Lu Zhaoyi pulled him closer and gazed deeply into his eyes.
Lu Zhaoyi initially only kissed his cheek, then covered his lips, placing a light kiss.
However, neither of them was satisfied with just that. Lu Zhaoyi wasn’t entirely sure if he knew how to deep kiss, but as both of their breaths quickened, Lu Zhaoyi didn’t worry about whether he knew how to anymore. He tentatively reached out his tongue, and feeling no rejection from Li Xiao, Lu Zhaoyi continued.
Many fleeting moments flashed through Lu Zhaoyi’s mind, but he couldn’t connect his thoughts. At this moment, all he could see and feel was Li Xiao.
They hugged tighter and tighter, the sound of the fireworks outside the window becoming the background music for their deep kiss.
When they parted, both of their breaths were ragged. Lu Zhaoyi felt his heart racing. At the same time, Li Xiao held Lu Zhaoyi’s hand and placed it over the left side of his own chest.
“President Lu,” Li Xiao said. “It’s because of you.”
Feeling his heartbeat, the tightly wound string in Lu Zhaoyi’s mind suddenly snapped. He thought of Pablo Neruda’s line, “what spring does with the cherry trees.” This line now undoubtedly represented his feelings for Li Xiao—what he wanted to do to Li Xiao.
He silently withdrew his hand, forcing himself to put away all the messy thoughts. Then he guided Li Xiao’s head to rest on his shoulder: “The fireworks aren’t finished yet. Let’s watch for a little longer.”
Lu Zhaoyi was the one who said this, but he was also the one who couldn’t focus on the fireworks.
In his twenty-three years of life, Lu Zhaoyi had never felt this way. He had never truly been affected by anyone else’s emotions, but now he realized he couldn’t refuse Li Xiao, and his emotions always seemed to be swayed by him.
He brainwashed himself: It must be because he is the protagonist shou! It absolutely can’t be for any other reason!
While saying this to himself, Lu Zhaoyi couldn’t help but turn his head to look at Li Xiao. Li Xiao noticed his gaze and turned his face to look back at him.
Li Xiao smiled and asked him, “Does President Lu want to kiss me again?”
Lu Zhaoyi pulled him closer as instructed and kissed the top of his head. After releasing Li Xiao, he said, “Let’s watch the fireworks.”
Li Xiao smiled: “Okay.”
Lu Zhaoyi completely wiped the romantic thoughts from his mind. At the same time, Li Xiao asked him, “President Lu, can we take a selfie together?”
Lu Zhaoyi thought: You used a phrase like “can we,” how can I possibly refuse you?
However, he only said, “Okay.”
The two turned around, with the blooming fireworks as the background for the photo. Li Xiao took two pictures. In one, he held up a peace sign, and in the other, he exchanged a glance with Lu Zhaoyi.
After taking the photos, Li Xiao pulled them up to look at them with Lu Zhaoyi.
“You are so beautiful,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “You are more beautiful than the fireworks outside.”
Li Xiao looked up and smiled: “President Lu, there are no fireworks outside now.”
“Hmm?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I didn’t notice.”
“Only I am beautiful now.”
I… swear… who taught you to talk like that? Lu Zhaoyi could barely handle his own heart anymore.
Aren’t you my heart? Do you really need to beat so fast for Li Xiao? Huh?
Lu Zhaoyi pulled Li Xiao into his arms: “Yes, only you are beautiful.”
Li Xiao smiled: “Thank you, President Lu.”
Li Xiao asked, “President Lu, were the fireworks tonight set off to make me happy?”
Lu Zhaoyi looked at him and said, “Since we came here, and there were so many attractions I didn’t let you ride, I wanted to use this to make it up to you a little.”
Li Xiao kissed him on the cheek: “Thank you.”
Lu Zhaoyi said: “You’re welcome. When I go out with you, your happiness is what matters most.”
Li Xiao didn’t say anything, but a clear smile was on his face.
Lu Zhaoyi sighed: “We have to go back tomorrow.”
Li Xiao asked, “Does President Lu not want to go back?”
“I don’t want to go to work,” Lu Zhaoyi shook his head. “You don’t understand the hardships of a corporate slave.”
“Pffft,” Li Xiao said. “Does someone like President Lu count as a corporate slave? The bar for being a corporate slave is really high now.”
“What kind of person am I?” Lu Zhaoyi asked him.
Li Xiao smiled and said, “A handsome one.”
“Is that so?” Lu Zhaoyi pulled him closer and kissed him. “Go wash up.”
“Okay,” Li Xiao nodded. “President Lu, wait for me.”
“I’ll wait for you.” Lu Zhaoyi replied quickly, but immediately after, he felt two small figures fighting in his mind. One told him to stay away from Li Xiao, who would only love someone like the original host. The other told him that spending time with Li Xiao clearly made him happy, so why push him away?
Lu Zhaoyi watched the two figures fight for a while, then pushed both of them down. Remembering Li Xiao told him to wait, he turned and went into the bathroom to shower.
He did indeed finish before Li Xiao. Lu Zhaoyi went straight to bed. Li Xiao came out and immediately lay down next to him.
Li Xiao asked: “President Lu, what should we do now?”
“What do you want to do?” Lu Zhaoyi asked. “Watch a movie?”
Li Xiao shook his head. Lu Zhaoyi continued: “Isn’t it too early for a late-night snack?”
Li Xiao still shook his head. He turned away, no longer looking at Lu Zhaoyi.
“Li Xiao?”
Li Xiao still didn’t look at him. Lu Zhaoyi spoke again: “Xiao?”
“Little Li?”
Seeing that he still had no intention of responding, Lu Zhaoyi simply called out: “Babe.”
After this word came out, Li Xiao finally turned to look at him.
Li Xiao sat up, leaning against the headboard pillow, and pointed to his left cheek.
Lu Zhaoyi knew that if he still didn’t understand Li Xiao’s meaning, Li Xiao might actually kick him out.
He leaned in toward Li Xiao and kissed his left cheek. After the kiss, Lu Zhaoyi smiled as he slowly moved his face away from Li Xiao. Li Xiao watched him until he lay down on the pillow next to him.
Li Xiao originally intended to adjust the pillow, but Lu Zhaoyi took the opportunity to kiss him on the forehead. Li Xiao’s breathing immediately hitched.
“President Lu,” Li Xiao said. “That’s too much of a foul.”
“Hmm?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “If you don’t like it, then in the future…”
Before he could finish, Li Xiao placed two fingers gently on his lips: “I don’t dislike it.”
Lu Zhaoyi smiled and playfully flicked his nose. Li Xiao didn’t dodge and just quietly lay down beside him.
“It’s so early,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “You go to sleep now, and I’ll play on my phone for a while longer.”
“No,” Li Xiao said. “I want to sleep with you.”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “I can’t fall asleep at this hour.”
Li Xiao suggested, “Then should I tell you a story?”
Lu Zhaoyi turned his face to look at him, his eyes filled with disbelief: “How old am I?”
Li Xiao smiled: “Twenty-three. Are you testing me, President Lu?”
Lu Zhaoyi knew he was playing dumb. He laughed: “Who at age 23 can’t sleep and needs someone to tell them a story?”
“Then if I can’t sleep, can President Lu tell me a story?” Li Xiao said. “If I’m not 23, then what you just said still holds true.”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “I only know the story of ‘Once upon a time there was a mountain, and on the mountain there was a temple, and in the temple…'”
Li Xiao continued the story for him: “There was a young monk listening to an old monk tell a story.”
“You finished it for me, so I have nothing left to tell,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I can’t tell stories. When you encounter difficulty, take a good nap.”
Li Xiao laughed out loud. Lu Zhaoyi saw his two small dimples faintly appear.
“Am I that funny?”
“No,” Li Xiao tried to hold back his laughter but failed. He explained, “I find it funny that President Lu compared the two of us to an old monk and a young monk.”
“It’s alright, isn’t it?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Simple living and few desires—that’s certainly me.”
Li Xiao rolled over, meeting his eyes, then blinked and asked him, “Really, President Lu?”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “If you keep seducing me, then I won’t be.”
This statement was less of a threat and more of flirtation.
Li Xiao said, “But I don’t know how to seduce President Lu.”
Lu Zhaoyi gently pinched his face: “Then don’t look at me with those pure, spring-like eyes.”
