After Transmigrating into a Scum Gong, the Rich Young Master Got Pregnant with My Child - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Lu Zhaoyi was momentarily stunned: “Li Xiao, you don’t have to be like that.”
Li Xiao shook his head: “It’s alright. I just want to see you for more time, so I can feel more at ease.”
Lu Zhaoyi had no idea how to respond to this. He couldn’t possibly tell Li Xiao to know his place, nor could he openly discuss Li Xiao’s attraction to his face.
What to do? Lu Zhaoyi thought for a moment, then asked, “How about you come to Yuehe with me instead?”
Li Xiao’s foxy eyes were full of disbelief: “Is that really possible, President Lu?”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “If you’re willing.”
“I am willing.”
Hearing those three words, Lu Zhaoyi smiled and asked him, “Why does that sound a little awkward?”
Li Xiao immediately blushed: “Are you joking, President Lu?”
“Yes,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “No decent person would be sightseeing in an amusement park, anyway.”
Li Xiao still carried a smile as he walked beside him.
Lu Zhaoyi reached out and ruffled his hair: “That happy?”
“Mhm. Do President Lu’s other friends also get taken…” Li Xiao meaningfully coughed, then asked, “To the company?”
Lu Zhaoyi strategically retreated: “Other friends? Are you talking about Tang Yurong? He doesn’t even know where he’s having fun himself. He wouldn’t go to the company, let alone bring someone along.”
I’ve changed the subject this much. If you ask further, it will be impolite.
Li Xiao nodded and indeed didn’t ask again. A slight smile returned to his face. Lu Zhaoyi said, “Enough about that. Where are we going to play today? The aquarium?”
“Okay,” Li Xiao said. “I’ve never been.”
“Me neither,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “It’s a shame there’s no zoo.”
“Why did President Lu suddenly want to go to the zoo?”
Lu Zhaoyi looked at him and said, “To see if you look like a little fox.”
Li Xiao pointed to himself and asked with a smile, “Is President Lu talking about my eyes?”
Lu Zhaoyi casually hummed an affirmation. Li Xiao smiled and asked him, “Then does President Lu like them?”
When Li Xiao asked this question, he blinked his foxy eyes, looking affectionately at Lu Zhaoyi. Lu Zhaoyi just gave a gentle “Mm,” but Li Xiao heard it. He smiled softly: “Thank you, President Lu.”
“Hey, why are you thanking me again?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I didn’t even compliment you properly.”
Li Xiao turned around: “President Lu saying that proves that you originally intended to compliment me, right?”
Lu Zhaoyi was startled: “Li Xiao, how many points did you usually get in reading comprehension?”
“I occasionally get points deducted,” Li Xiao said. “I’m not that good.”
“Such humble-bragging,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “How can you be both good-looking and have good grades? That’s cheating, Li Xiao.”
Li Xiao replied, “Isn’t President Lu the same?”
Lu Zhaoyi hadn’t expected that response. He said, “You’re too polite.”
The two looked at each other and then both laughed.
When they arrived at the aquarium, it was just opening. There weren’t many staff or visitors, and no one was pushing past them. For both of them, this was a new place.
Li Xiao didn’t try to hide anything in front of Lu Zhaoyi. He immediately commented on anything he found novel and called Lu Zhaoyi to look at anything interesting.
Lu Zhaoyi still maintained his CEO demeanor, only giving simple responses, but Li Xiao didn’t mind. He continued to happily tour the place with Lu Zhaoyi.
Lu Zhaoyi couldn’t help but feel sad. I’m being so perfunctory, yet Li Xiao doesn’t seem unhappy. What kind of position has he put himself in to be so happy just because of a small response from me?
Lu Zhaoyi gently called out, “Li Xiao, let’s take a break.”
“Is President Lu tired?” Li Xiao said. “Alright then.”
Lu Zhaoyi sat down next to him, and Li Xiao quietly leaned his head against Lu Zhaoyi’s shoulder. Lu Zhaoyi didn’t push him away. He observed his expression; Li Xiao’s eyes and brow were filled with happiness.
At least this way, he truly had a reason to be happy.
After sitting for a while, Lu Zhaoyi told him, “I’m going to buy us some drinks. Wait here for just a moment.”
Even though Lu Zhaoyi hadn’t used a question, Li Xiao sensed he was asking for permission. He said, “Okay, thank you, President Lu.”
Lu Zhaoyi didn’t even realize that he subtly curved his lips as he turned away.
He returned with the drinks and sat down next to Li Xiao. Li Xiao seemed to be busy with something and frantically hid his phone only when Lu Zhaoyi sat down beside him.
Lu Zhaoyi pretended not to see. What he was afraid of being seen was probably either messages from his family or news related to himself.
“This one is full sugar for you,” Lu Zhaoyi complained. “It’s honestly ridiculous. The clerk asked if my girlfriend eats a lot of sugar. You do like sweets, but you’re not my girlfriend.”
Li Xiao cautiously asked, “Does President Lu like girls?”
Lu Zhaoyi shook his head: “Not at all. That’s why I found the clerk amusing.”
Hearing this answer, Li Xiao visibly relaxed, then helped him open his drink and handed it back.
Lu Zhaoyi took it and said, “Thank you.”
Li Xiao shook his head: “I should be thanking President Lu.”
Lu Zhaoyi watched as Li Xiao extended his left hand, then used his right index and middle fingers to mimic kneeling. Lu Zhaoyi had never seen anyone do this in real life before. Surprised, he said, “Rise.”
“Thank…” Li Xiao only said those two words before stopping.
Lu Zhaoyi asked him, “Don’t know what to call me? Concubine Zhaoyi [昭儀]?”
“Haha,” Li Xiao laughed. “That’s a funny joke, President Lu.”
“There’s nothing you can’t call me,” Lu Zhaoyi said, seeing his reaction. “I won’t dock your pay for making a pun. Besides, the rank of Zhaoyi is pretty good, isn’t it?”
“In the Western Han Dynasty, it was second only to the Empress, but later it fell below the Four Concubines,” Li Xiao smiled and asked him, “Is President Lu so easily satisfied?”
Lu Zhaoyi pondered for a moment and replied, “Second only to the Empress is fine. After all, Emperors throughout history didn’t love the Empress. The position below the Empress was usually reserved for the Emperor’s most beloved woman.”
Li Xiao said, “That’s true, President Lu.”
“But I completely disdain all that mess—having three wives and four concubines, playing this and that. Life is short; they wouldn’t even know how they died.”
While saying this, Lu Zhaoyi thought of the scum gong, and his resentment deepened.
Li Xiao asked, “What President Lu is talking about was legal in ancient times. Does President Lu still find it inappropriate?”
Lu Zhaoyi showed a sarcastic smile: “Just because it’s not legal now doesn’t stop some animals from messing around.”
Li Xiao hadn’t expected Lu Zhaoyi to be so blunt. He was stunned, unable to process it.
Seeing his reaction, Lu Zhaoyi instantly felt he shouldn’t have brought up this topic. After all, if he looked down on people who messed around, it seemed hard to explain why he signed this sugar daddy contract with Li Xiao.
Li Xiao apparently thought of this too. He looked at Lu Zhaoyi and asked, “Does President Lu mean that as long as our relationship continues, you won’t get involved with other people?”
“Yes,” Lu Zhaoyi quickly replied, thinking, I wouldn’t get involved with others even without this contract.
“Thank you,” Li Xiao said. “I will try my best to earn it.”
“Earn what?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Just be yourself. Don’t always be afraid, and don’t overthink things.”
Li Xiao nodded. Lu Zhaoyi was too weary to even watch him nod. In his current understanding, the faster Li Xiao nodded, the faster he was internally rejecting the advice. Li Xiao had clearly mastered letting things go in one ear and out the other.
“Let’s go,” Lu Zhaoyi pointed inside and said, “We’re going to see the dolphins.”
Li Xiao nodded. Lu Zhaoyi first got up, threw his empty drink cup into the nearby trash can, then reached out and pulled Li Xiao up. Once they were standing, he held Li Xiao’s hand.
Lu Zhaoyi looked at their clasped hands, feeling an indescribable emotion. Li Xiao was always insecure, but no matter what he said, Li Xiao wouldn’t listen.
If Li Xiao was destined to love someone like the original host, shouldn’t he be completely uninterested in himself? Why was his attitude toward him still so cautious?
“This one is so cute,” Li Xiao asked. “Does President Lu want to feed it?”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “You are cute, you feed it.”
Li Xiao turned his head to look at him, smiled, and said, “Okay.”
With the trainers present, many people wanted to try feeding the dolphins. Li Xiao quickly placed the food and walked back to Lu Zhaoyi’s side.
Li Xiao sweetly said, “President Lu.”
Lu Zhaoyi asked him, “Did you have fun?”
Li Xiao nodded gently. Lu Zhaoyi said, “That’s good. Let’s go, next one.”
“Yay,” Li Xiao said. “Let’s go.”
Since they arrived in the morning, they ate lunch at a restaurant inside the aquarium.
Lu Zhaoyi saw a sign for a spicy food restaurant and quietly told Li Xiao, “That’s a no-go.”
“President Lu, don’t you like it?”
“Whether I like it or not doesn’t matter. The main thing is that your health isn’t good,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “Eating that is like gambling. Of course not.”
Li Xiao complied: “Understood, thank you.”
Hearing this thank you, Lu Zhaoyi suddenly felt that his own sudden politeness these past few days was probably because of Li Xiao. Li Xiao was so excessively polite that he probably picked up a few things. It seemed he had been impolite before because the people around him were like that.
Yes! That must be it!
Before Lu Zhaoyi could completely save face for himself, he heard Li Xiao ask him, “President Lu, is this place okay?”
“Pork rib hot pot, huh?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “If you want to eat it, we’ll go.”
Lu Zhaoyi suddenly smiled. Li Xiao asked, “What’s wrong?”
“Once during a company dinner, someone suggested going for hot pot. Guess what the others said?”
Li Xiao shook his head, honestly saying, “I don’t know, President Lu, please tell me.”
“He said, ‘Dozens of people eating hot pot together? That’s just drinking dishwater.'” Lu Zhaoyi said. “It just reminded me of that.”
“President Lu, your employees are so interesting,” Li Xiao said. “The atmosphere at Yuehe must be very good.”
“You’ll see when you go,” Lu Zhaoyi said. “I certainly don’t use money to feed useless people.”
“Okay,” Li Xiao said. “I’m already looking forward to it.”
Lu Zhaoyi was a little distracted during this meal. Did I talk too much to Li Xiao? Will he overthink things?
“President Lu, what’s wrong?” Li Xiao asked. “Is it not to your taste?”
Lu Zhaoyi said, “That’s not the case. The dipping sauce I made tastes pretty good.”
“You’re good at everything you do,” Li Xiao praised him, then asked, “Then are you worried about something?”
“I am, indeed.”
Li Xiao immediately became nervous: “What is it?”
“Li Xiao is so thin, what will happen if he doesn’t eat well?” Lu Zhaoyi said. “It’s enough to make a person worry.”
