After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 80
Cheng Jianli took Jiang Muyan’s phone. After just two seconds of glancing at it, her earlobes turned bright red as she quickly turned off the screen. “Why are you showing me this?”
Jiang Muyan replied shyly, “Good things are meant to be shared.”
It wasn’t that Cheng Jianli hadn’t clearly seen the two girls in the video. She maintained her composure and said, “Shouldn’t this kind of thing be watched alone?”
Jiang Muyan cheerfully responded, “If you want me to watch it with you, I’m available anytime!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
With a serious tone, Cheng Jianli said, “Jiang Muyan, I misjudged you.”
Jiang Muyan looked puzzled. “Misjudged what?”
“I thought you were truly an innocent person,” Cheng Jianli said, shoving the phone back into Jiang Muyan’s hands. “I didn’t expect you to have a hobby of watching these kinds of videos.”
Jiang Muyan blinked in surprise. “You don’t like it?”
“It’s not that I don’t like it,” Cheng Jianli replied. “Don’t you think it’s strange for the two of us to watch this together?”
Jiang Muyan seized the key point with precision and exclaimed excitedly, “So you do like it! If you don’t want to watch it together, that’s fine, you can just write a 500-word reflection instead.”
Cheng Jianli: “I’m not writing it.”
Hearing this, Jiang Muyan immediately pouted. “Teacher Cheng, you promised I could make a request.”
Cheng Jianli calmly countered, “But I didn’t agree to this kind of request.”
Jiang Muyan lowered her head and muttered, “Fine.”
She sat quietly for a while. Meanwhile, Cheng Jianli found the images from earlier lingering in her mind. She couldn’t help but wonder, how did Jiang Muyan even know about these things?
Last night, this girl had deftly rolled up her clothes and touched her freely. A mix of suspicion and frustration rose in Cheng Jianli’s heart.
They didn’t even have any kind of relationship, yet Jiang Muyan had already seen everything.
Feeling slightly irritated, Cheng Jianli pretended to ask casually, “Do you, often watch this kind of thing?”
She kept her tone deliberately neutral. Jiang Muyan turned to her, showing no sign of being upset by the earlier rejection, and answered straightforwardly, “Not often.”
Cheng Jianli pressed, “Then why do you seem so experienced?”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head. “Luo Jiajia sent it to me, so I just watched it.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
So that was it.
Cheng Jianli had initially thought Jiang Muyan had tried these things with someone else. Now it seemed she had overthought it. She asked, “She sent you this kind of thing, and you weren’t angry?”
Jiang Muyan set her book aside, confused. “Why would I be angry? We’re all normal adults. Watching this doesn’t hurt anyone.” She then tilted her head. “Teacher Cheng, are you angry?”
“No,” Cheng Jianli turned her face away, the pale skin of her neck tinged with a faint blush. “I just don’t want to write a 500-word reflection.”
Jiang Muyan scooted closer with a silly grin. “Then watch it with me later!”
After a moment of silence, Cheng Jianli suddenly pulled out their “contract” from her bag. With elegant strokes, she added a new clause:
Party A: Jiang Muyan
Party B: Cheng Jianli
Additional Condition: Party A must rank within the top 50 in the final exams. Party B must accompany Party A to watch a movie after the exams, with the movie selected by Party A.
She handed it over and raised an eyebrow. “Sign it.”
Jiang Muyan took the contract.
Her eyes fell on the additional condition, and instantly, her mouth went dry, her heart pounding wildly.
She got to choose the movie.
The implication was unmistakable.
Jiang Muyan looked up with a silly expression and asked, “Teacher Cheng, do I really get to decide?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “Mm.”
Jiang Muyan said shyly, “Then you can’t trick me, okay? I’m going to sign.”
Cheng Jianli watched her expression, a faint smile tugging at her lips. “Go ahead.”
Then, after a moment’s thought, she leaned closer to Jiang Muyan’s ear just a few centimeters between them and whispered with a smirk, “But if you can make it into the top ten of the grade…” She paused, then added, “I’ll watch with you without clothes.”
Jiang Muyan: “!!!”
Her pen clattered to the floor, and her heart nearly leaped out of her chest.
Staring blankly at Cheng Jianli’s flawless, snow-white face, she thought in confusion,
Was Cheng Jianli, teasing her again?
But didn’t Cheng Jianli say she didn’t want to date? What did she mean by saying things like this so often lately?
A puzzled look flickered in Jiang Muyan’s eyes.
Could it be that she actually liked her?
Bar.
Xu Yinghe sat alone at the counter. She had applied light makeup tonight, her slightly wavy brown-black hair cascading over her shoulders. Beneath her almond-shaped eyes were faint dark circles, as if she hadn’t slept well in days.
A bartender approached with her drink and kindly reminded her, “Miss Xu, don’t drink too much tonight.”
Xu Yinghe, lost in thought, snapped back to reality and asked, “Where’s your boss?”
The bartender replied, “He’s gone to rest. You should head home early too.”
Xu Yinghe let out an indifferent “Oh” and said flatly, “Fine.”
She got up and left.
But the moment she stepped out of the bar, she missed the edge of the steps and stumbled forward.
Xu Yinghe lost her balance and nearly fell. Someone must have been causing a drunken scene outside earlier broken glass bottles littered the ground, and a sharp shard sliced into her left knee, drawing blood instantly.
She hissed in pain and looked down.
A shallow but bleeding gash marred her skin, sending a sharp, stinging pain through her leg.
How ironic coming out for a drink only to get cut by a bottle.
Xu Yinghe smirked self-deprecatingly and was about to stand when a panicked voice called out from above, “Are you okay?!”
She looked up and saw a familiar, delicate face shoulder-length black hair, a worn-out school uniform, and cheap cloth shoes.
Xu Yinghe frowned. “Why is it you?”
She stood up on her own. Since this was the bar entrance and no acquaintances were around, she spoke directly to You Xia.
You Xia froze, her concern cut short by Xu Yinghe’s bluntness.
Truthfully, she had heard rumors that Xu Yinghe had run away from home and hadn’t been to school in a while.
For days, You Xia had been in a daze. Back in Class 4, she used to secretly rejoice every time she caught a glimpse of Xu Yinghe during morning exercises.
But now that she couldn’t see her anymore, it felt like a piece of her heart was missing. Whenever she thought of Xu Yinghe, she’d unconsciously lower her head.
She had wanted to ask someone where Xu Yinghe had gone, but she wasn’t well-liked, her grades were average, and her family was poor, no one paid her any attention.
Besides, she and Xu Yinghe, weren’t even friends.
What was the point in asking?
Xu Yinghe frowned. “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
You Xia quickly lifted her gaze. Xu Yinghe’s features were exquisite, the very picture of a wealthy young lady, with fair skin, beautiful almond eyes, and even the delicate curl at the ends of her hair looking perfect.
“I-I was just passing by…” Youxia said softly. She could tell Xu Yinghe liked drinking alone. Her mother worked as a cleaner at two bars, and Youxia occasionally came to help, secretly hoping that one day Xu Yinghe might come here to drink.
That way, she could see her.
She just never expected that when Xu Yinghe actually appeared, she would accidentally cut her knee.
Youxia said nervously, “Your knee is bleeding. I have iodine and ointment, do you need some?”
Only then did Xu Yinghe realize her knee was still bleeding, the dull pain shooting through her nerves. “No need.”
Youxia hesitated. “Then, do you need help walking?”
Xu Yinghe glanced at her, almost amused. “You?” she said. “I doubt you could even support me.”
Xu Yinghe was nearly 1.75 meters tall, while Youxia barely reached 1.60.
Youxia bit her lip. “I-I can. I can manage.”
Xu Yinghe shook her head. “Not necessary.”
Even after being rejected, Youxia didn’t seem disheartened. She persisted, “But your knee looks pretty bad. At least let me disinfect it. I have iodine.”
Youxia’s home was very close by, a tiny rented apartment, only 40 square meters. When Xu Yinghe stepped inside, she frowned slightly. The usual smells of cooking oil and old furniture lingered in the air, making her uncomfortable.
The place was so poor it had only one room, not even a private bathroom. To use the toilet, they had to go to a shared one nearby, and showers were taken at a public bathhouse.
Youxia pulled out an old red plastic stool for Xu Yinghe to sit on, wiping it down several times with a tissue before offering it with an apologetic smile. “Here.”
An inexplicable irritation rose in Xu Yinghe’s chest.
She sat down and asked, “You live here alone?”
Youxia fetched the iodine and knelt on the floor, carefully dabbing at the blood around the wound. “Ah, my mom isn’t back yet,” she murmured.
Xu Yinghe gave a noncommittal “Oh,” watching as Youxia unscrewed the iodine bottle and gently tended to her injury.
Youxia had an introverted look and personalitynot strikingly beautiful, but delicate in a quiet way. Her skin was pale, her frame slight. Every time Xu Yinghe glanced down at her, Youxia would immediately avert her eyes, too shy to meet her gaze.
Once the wound was cleaned and treated, Youxia stood up, her legs stiff from crouching for so long. “Stay for a bit,” she said awkwardly, “I’ll get you some water.”
Xu Yinghe didn’t think the minor injury was a big deal, but Youxia’s concern puzzled her.
She stood. “No need. I should go.”
Youxia’s hands stilled on the cup. “Wait,” she blurted out, then flushed when Xu Yinghe turned a questioning look her way. Realizing how flustered she sounded, she quickly added, “It’s hard to get a taxi around here. Maybe you should call one first.”
Xu Yinghe nodded. “Right.”
She sat back down on the red stool and pulled out her phone. Youxia returned with a glass of water, murmuring, “Here you go.”
“Thanks,” Xu Yinghe said.
That simple “thank you” seemed to mean the world to Youxia. “No problem,” she replied eagerly.
Silence settled between them. After a long pause, Youxia suddenly asked, “You haven’t been to school these past few days?”
Xu Yinghe scrolled through the ride-hailing app. “Didn’t feel like going.”
Hoping to keep the conversation going, Youxia ventured softly, “Did something happen?”
Xu Yinghe glanced up at her before lowering her eyes to continue scrolling through her phone. “No,” she replied.
You Xia knew Xu Yinghe was naturally this aloof, so she forced a smile to keep the conversation going. “I thought something major had happened. Glad to hear it’s nothing.”
Xu Yinghe remained focused on her phone until a taxi driver accepted her ride request. She stood up immediately. “I’m leaving.”
Everything about this place the air, the decor, even the smell reminded her how uncomfortable and unwelcome she felt here.
Hearing she was leaving again, You Xia’s face clearly showed reluctance. They had only spent about ten minutes together, yet to You Xia, it felt like ten days, even ten weeks had passed.
As Xu Yinghe stepped outside, You Xia followed closely behind. The night was pitch black, the slightly tipsy evening filled with a chilly breeze, the annoying chirps of autumn cicadas, and slowly falling leaves that looked so withered and yellow.
Nighttime always seemed to urge people into doing something impulsive.
“Thank you for today,” Xu Yinghe said.
Hearing those words of gratitude, You Xia felt as if a missing piece inside her had been filled. “You’re welcome,” she replied.
“If anything comes up, you can reach out to me next time,” Xu Yinghe offered.
But You Xia didn’t seem to hear. She simply stared at Xu Yinghe, mesmerized.
Xu Yinghe was truly beautiful. Just looking at her gave the illusion of admiring her from across a distant shore. Her eyes were clear, her skin fair and luminous, exuding an innate elegance that radiated from her very bones.
When Xu Yinghe noticed You Xia’s silence, she added indifferently, “The car’s almost here. I should.”
Before she could take a step, You Xia, mustering courage from who knows where, suddenly stood on her tiptoes and impulsively pressed a fleeting kiss onto Xu Yinghe’s cold lips.
It was over in an instant hardly even a kiss, more like a pitiful brush of contact.
Yet Xu Yinghe’s pupils dilated in shock. She shoved You Xia away and then, without much force but decisively, slapped her across the face.
The sound of the slap wasn’t loud, but it was enough to silence even the annoying cicadas behind them.
“Are you out of your mind?” Xu Yinghe spat before turning and walking away.
