After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 73
Cheng Jianli said expressionlessly, “Did you give me any pants?”
Jiang Muyan: “? Didn’t I give you any?”
Cheng Jianli turned her face away and lowered her head to do her homework: “You only gave me one of your sweatshirts.”
“!” Only then did Jiang Muyan remember. She had been so focused on talking to Cheng Jianli earlier that she forgot to take the casual pants out of the closet.
Jiang Muyan said regretfully, “So that’s what happened. I messed up.”
“What else could it be?” Cheng Jianli gave her a faint glance. “Can you stop thinking about weird things all day?”
Jiang Muyan quickly changed the subject: “But this sweatshirt looks really good on you. It makes your skin look so fair.”
Cheng Jianli looked down at herself. Because she was sitting on the chair, the sweatshirt appeared even shorter, barely covering her thighs.
Cheng Jianli coughed lightly: “Is that so?”
“Yeah,” Jiang Muyan said sincerely. “If you like it, I’ll give it to you.”
Cheng Jianli said, “That doesn’t seem appropriate.”
Jiang Muyan replied, “It’s fine. I’ve never worn this one before it’s brand new.”
With that, she walked to the closet and rummaged for the shopping bag from when she bought the sweatshirt: “I’ll give you the bag too. You can take it back to your room later.”
“No need,” Cheng Jianli stood up. Her frame was slender, making the sweatshirt slightly loose on her, giving it an oversized style. “You…” Cheng Jianli paused, her eyes shimmering like two beautiful pieces of amber, “Help me find a pair of pants first.”
Jiang Muyan let out an “Oh” and asked, “Do you want to wear them?”
Cheng Jianli said, “I really do.”
Jiang Muyan said, “But your waist is too slim. My pants definitely won’t fit you.”
Cheng Jianli asked, “Do you have a belt?”
Jiang Muyan replied, “I think so.”
Cheng Jianli walked over. She was wearing blue bear slippers, and her long, slender legs looked especially straight under the sweatshirt. Her delicate face was flushed with a rosy glow: “Find it for me.”
Jiang Muyan blinked and quickly dove into the closet to search for the belt.
Cheng Jianli stood nearby waiting. Jiang Muyan’s muffled voice came from inside the closet: “Teacher Cheng, I think I stuffed the belt all the way at the bottom. Just wait a sec.”
Cheng Jianli: “Mm.”
Jiang Muyan rummaged around, feeling a little embarrassed to look at Cheng Jianli’s legs.
Because her wife’s limbs were so slender, especially her ankles delicate and fair. Jiang Muyan was afraid that if she looked any longer, she wouldn’t be able to resist the urge to hold them.
No being lewd toward wife, no being lewd toward wife.
Jiang Muyan repeated this mantra in her head several times before earnestly helping Cheng Jianli search for the belt.
After finally digging one out from the very back of the closet, it turned out the belt didn’t fit Cheng Jianli couldn’t use it.
Jiang Muyan measured it against her waist and said, “Teacher Cheng, you really can’t fasten this.”
Her waist was so slender it could be encircled with one hand. Jiang Muyan was worried she might accidentally snap it.
Cheng Jianli asked, “Were all the clothes in my room sent for washing?”
Jiang Muyan said, “Yeah, we just did a big cleaning today, so they took everything to wash. I never wore this sweatshirt before and was afraid it’d get ruined in the wash, so I didn’t send it.”
Cheng Jianli said, “Are there any shorts or something that are already dry? I could wear those.”
Jiang Muyan replied, “Probably not. The housekeeper just finished washing them. Should I ask them to hurry up and dry a pair for you?”
“Forget it,” Cheng Jianli said when she heard how much trouble it would cause others. “Let’s just leave it at that.”
Jiang Muyan replied, “Alright, but don’t go outside. Uncle Liu and the others are still out there.”
“Go do your homework,” Cheng Jianli urged.
Jiang Muyan nodded and ran back to her seat, reminding Cheng Jianli to drink the ginger tea on the way.
Under the warm orange light, both of them quietly began their studies.
Jiang Muyan knew the final exams were approaching, and she couldn’t afford to slack off. Besides, Cheng Jianli had promised her a wish if she made it into the top 100 of their grade something mentioned back in the bathroom last time.
Though Jiang Muyan hadn’t decided on a wish yet, the offer was tempting enough!
She focused on her English test paper while Cheng Jianli sat beside her, memorizing passages.
About an hour later, Jiang Muyan finished and handed the paper to Cheng Jianli for grading. “Teacher Cheng, would you like some cherries or strawberries? I can grab them from downstairs.”
“No need,” Cheng Jianli replied.
“How about juice?” Jiang Muyan asked.
“That’s fine too.”
Just then, Cheng Jianli turned away and sneezed twice, heavily.
Jiang Muyan froze. “Teacher Cheng, are you catching a cold?”
Cheng Jianli rubbed her eyes. “Probably not. Just a bit of a stuffy nose.”
“You got caught in the rain today and barely wore anything warm, of course you’re feeling unwell,” Jiang Muyan said, standing up to gather the books on the table. “Let’s call it a night. You should rest in bed.”
“I’m fine,” Cheng Jianli pressed her hand down. “Besides, your room has wall heating. It’s not cold.”
“But I’m worried you’ll really get sick.”
Cheng Jianli touched her forehead. “Let me finish grading your English paper first, then I’ll rest.”
“I can grade it myself,” Jiang Muyan insisted, pulling Cheng Jianli up. “Go lie down for half an hour.”
Truthfully, Cheng Jianli wasn’t just sneezing her throat was starting to ache too. “By the way, I checked your first two reading sections. You only got one wrong. That’s pretty good.”
“Got it, got it,” Jiang Muyan interrupted. “Stop worrying about me, Teacher Cheng. Go lie down and take your temperature.”
Seeing Jiang Muyan’s insistence, Cheng Jianli had no choice but to agree.
As Jiang Muyan fetched the thermometer, Cheng Jianli sat on the edge of the bed, her long, fair legs dangling slightly, inadvertently revealing the simple, pretty fabric beneath.
Blue and white stripes.
But Jiang Muyan didn’t notice, simply handing the thermometer over. “Check your temperature. Let’s see if you have a fever.”
Cheng Jianli burrowed under Jiang Muyan’s thick blankets. Her slightly long hair draped over her shoulders, accentuating her fair, delicate skin.
Her temperature read 37.3°C, borderline feverish.
“Should I call the family doctor?” Jiang Muyan asked.
“I don’t think I have a fever,” Cheng Jianli said seriously, snuggling deeper. “Your heating is so strong, and this blanket is so thick, I feel like I’m being roasted alive.”
Jiang Muyan thought for a moment before earnestly suggesting, “Then, do you want to sleep naked?”
Cheng Jianli: “…?”
Seeing the genuine innocence in Jiang Muyan’s eyes, Cheng Jianli realized it was just a simple question.
“No,” Cheng Jianli’s lips twitched slightly as she calmly replied, “I’m not used to sleeping naked in someone else’s bed.”
But Jiang Muyan seemed to have caught onto something, curiously asking, “Teacher Cheng, have you slept like this before?”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Cheng Jianli said, “No, I haven’t.”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head in confusion. “You could sleep naked, I wouldn’t mind.”
Cheng Jianli answered seriously, “But I would mind.”
Jiang Muyan sighed. “It’s really comfortable, and if your temperature rises, it would be easier for me to apply alcohol to cool you down.”
Cheng Jianli knew that applying alcohol could help reduce fever, but she really didn’t want to do anything strange in Jiang Muyan’s bed.
So she politely declined, “No, thank you.”
Jiang Muyan let out an “Oh” and remained seated beside her, though she lowered her head.
Outside, a light drizzle fell. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, the autumn scenery was visible—piles of fallen leaves mingled with the fresh scent of earth, creating an especially enchanting view.
Inside the room.
Cheng Jianli closed her eyes and stayed silent for five minutes before finally opening them again. “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Muyan mumbled, “Nothing.”
Seeing her pouting expression, Cheng Jianli frowned. “What do you want?”
Jiang Muyan said pitifully, “I just feel like you’re so guarded around me.”
Cheng Jianli almost laughed in exasperation. “Me? Guarded? After everything I’ve done for you?”
Stripping clothes, kissing her neck, biting her scent gland though most of the time Jiang Muyan had been in an unconscious state, Cheng Jianli had already been extremely indulgent toward her.
Jiang Muyan hesitantly suggested, “Then, why don’t you do the same to me?”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“That’s not the point,” Cheng Jianli took a deep breath and said softly, “Jiang Muyan, sometimes I don’t know how to talk to you. I’ve never been this close with anyone before. You really make me nervous and scared.”
The first part was fine, but when Jiang Muyan heard “nervous and scared,” she immediately felt wronged!
Her wife was actually afraid of her.
She had always respected her, asking for her consent before doing anything. When Cheng Jianli had gone into heat before, she had immediately brought her suppressants and protected her through it.
She had appeared in time when Cheng Jianli was in danger, helped conceal her heat cycle when it came unexpectedly, and even studied hard to ensure they could attend the same university.
Now that she thought about it, what difference was there between her and a mere tool?
Jiang Muyan felt a pang of bitterness in her heart, but no matter how wronged she felt, she still took the initiative to apologize. “I’m sorry!”
Cheng Jianli was taken aback, not understanding why Jiang Muyan would suddenly say that. “Why are you apologizing?”
Jiang Muyan’s eyes reddened slightly. “Because I made you nervous and scared.”
“That’s not what I meant,” Cheng Jianli frowned. “It’s my own issue, because I—”
Suddenly, Cheng Jianli’s voice cut off.
What was she supposed to say?
Should she say, “Because I take your affection very seriously, and after you presented as an alpha, you became even more popular than I imagined. So when you do ambiguous things to me, I start feeling nervous and scared”?
Cheng Jianli parted her lips slightly, then found herself unable to speak. She could only turn her head away and murmur softly, “I don’t blame you, and I’m certainly not wary of you.”
“I was just afraid you might mind, since this is your bed after all.”
“You don’t blame me?” Jiang Muyan asked nervously.
So her wife didn’t see her as just a tool.
A sudden wave of happiness bubbled up inside her.
Cheng Jianli said calmly, “No, I trust you. You’re my best friend.”
The words “best friend” made Jiang Muyan momentarily dazed. She immediately responded, “Then how could I possibly mind you!” Her emotions surged with excitement. “Teacher Cheng, I wouldn’t even mind if you ate in my bed!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
“Eating is unnecessary,” Cheng Jianli coughed lightly, a faint blush coloring her cheeks. “Are you asking me to sleep naked?”
What could she do? She had never been able to resist Jiang Muyan.
Seeing the conversation return to its starting point, Jiang Muyan’s expression quickly turned bashful and conflicted. “Of course you can if you want to. I respect your choice.”
“Anyway, I think it’s quite comfortable,” Jiang Muyan scratched her cheek. “Didn’t you say my blanket was too thick?”
After a moment of silence, Cheng Jianli said, “Then take my dirty clothes downstairs when you go.”
The rain-soaked clothes were still by the door, ready to be given to the housekeeper for washing.
Jiang Muyan nodded eagerly like a pecking chick. “Okay.”
This was Cheng Jianli’s first time trying to sleep like this. She asked, “Should I take off my underwear too?”
“Ah,” Jiang Muyan stammered shyly, “I guess so.”
Cheng Jianli fumbled under the blanket for a while before extending her fair, jade-like arm to hand over all her clothes.
The direct contact with the thick cotton blanket still made her feel somewhat embarrassed. “I want to sleep now.”
Jiang Muyan took the clothes from Cheng Jianli. The thought that Cheng Jianli was now lying in her bed her sheets, her pillow, her blanket somehow made her stumble over her words and blush. “Oh, okay. Go ahead and sleep.”
Cheng Jianli’s voice was soft and slightly hoarse. “Mm.”
Outside the window, the garden had just been tidied. A faint mist hovered around the sculptures, enveloping the entire villa in humidity as rain fell freely through the trees.
Jiang Muyan stood motionless, holding Cheng Jianli’s clothes. She stared blankly at the pink sweatshirt and the neatly folded blue-and-white striped set beneath it.
Noticing Jiang Muyan hadn’t left yet, Cheng Jianli asked, “Why are you spacing out?”
“Nothing,” Jiang Muyan snapped out of her daze and instinctively replied, “I was just thinking about when I should apply the rubbing alcohol for you.”
Diluted alcohol applied to the forehead, neck, back, and thighs could help reduce fever.
Cheng Jianli asked, “You still want to rub alcohol on me?”
Jiang Muyan nodded foolishly.
Sweat gathered in Cheng Jianli’s palms under the blanket. Even though she wasn’t wearing anything, Jiang Muyan still…
Her face was far too thin-skinned, flushing instantly with a delicate pink. “You pervert.”
