After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 68
The room’s light was of the old-fashioned kind, dim and yellowish. The air conditioner hanging on the wall had clearly been there for years, with thick dust accumulated on its exposed surfaces.
Jiang Muyan gazed at Cheng Jianli with hazy eyes, yet afraid of angering her, she only lightly rubbed her fingers against the gray T-shirt Cheng was wearing.
Cheng Jianli could feel Jiang Muyan’s fingers occasionally brushing past the hem of her shirt, touching her skin. Her own skin was cool to the touch, while Jiang Muyan’s body temperature ran high due to her impending differentiation.
The contrast between cold and hot was striking.
Sitting face to face, even Jiang Muyan’s simple tracing of Cheng Jianli’s waistline brought her immense pleasure. Enthralled, she caressed the slender, snow-white waist before attempting to push the soft fabric upward only for Cheng Jianli to immediately grab her hand.
“You can’t go any higher,” Cheng Jianli said calmly.
Jiang Muyan blinked in confusion. “Why not?”
Trying to maintain composure, Cheng replied, “You’re drunk. You should sleep first.”
“But you’re wearing too much,” Jiang Muyan murmured drunkenly as she leaned closer. “Wife, let me help you take off your shirt, okay? I really want to see…”
“No,” Cheng Jianli refused. “You sleep in this bed. I’ll take the other one.”
Only then did Jiang Muyan notice the deep pink bed beside them, its sheets carrying a faint rose fragrance. Puzzled, she asked, “Wife, why did you book a twin room?”
It seemed Jiang Muyan’s mind had been too muddled earlier to realize this love-themed suite had two beds.
“Because I’m an omega, and you’re about to differentiate,” Cheng Jianli explained. “I can’t stay with you anymore.”
At those words, “can’t stay with you anymore” Jiang Muyan’s expression instantly turned crestfallen as she stared blankly at Cheng.
“I’ll call Uncle Liu first to bring your ID over,” Cheng Jianli added, picking up her phone from the side table.
Just as she was about to dial, Jiang Muyan snatched the phone away.
Drunk and confused, Jiang examined the device. “Such an ancient phone… Wife, why are you using this kind of phone?”
After several failed attempts to retrieve it, Cheng Jianli massaged her temples. “Because I’m poor.”
Hearing this, Jiang immediately declared, “Then I’ll give you all my money! However much you want, I’ll give it to you.”
Cheng hadn’t expected drunk Jiang Muyan to be so reckless with money, Jiang Huai would probably want to knock some sense into his daughter if he knew.
Unable to suppress a small smile, Cheng asked softly, “You’d give me all your money?”
“Yes, yes, all of it!” Jiang tossed the phone onto the bed before throwing her arms around Cheng’s waist. Mumbling, she asked, “Wife, are you happy now?”
“Happy,” Cheng replied offhandedly.
“Hehe, then don’t leave tonight, okay? I don’t want anyone else to pick me up.” It seemed this had been Jiang’s objective all along. She inhaled deeply, taking in Cheng’s scent, sweet mango, more intense than before. “Wife, why do you smell so good today…”
Cheng touched the back of her neck. “It’s pheromones.”
“Pheromones?” Jiang blinked. “Do I have them too?”
“You will soon,” Cheng replied.
After being teased by Jiang Muyan like this, Cheng Jianli realized her pheromones had inexplicably grown more intense especially when Jiang Muyan leaned in close. Her scent became irresistibly sweet and enticing.
There was only one explanation for this phenomenon.
Their pheromones were highly compatible. Jiang Muyan was on the verge of differentiation, which indirectly stimulated the release of Cheng Jianli’s scent.
And just now, Jiang Muyan had kissed her cheek the spot still faintly warm. Cheng Jianli couldn’t imagine Jiang Muyan continuing to kiss her in this drunken, dazed state.
She didn’t like relationships that started without any clarity.
So when Jiang Muyan leaned in again, Cheng Jianli retreated. Jiang Muyan’s glistening eyes stared straight at her, the drunken haze in them growing deeper and more lingering with the heated atmosphere in the room.
By the time her back hit the headboard, Cheng Jianli had nowhere left to retreat. Jiang Muyan’s face loomed closer, yet her expression remained innocent and clueless, adorably so.
“Wife…”
Cheng Jianli turned her face away. “Don’t call me that.”
Jiang Muyan’s voice was like strong liquor with ice cubes in autumn. She tilted her head in confusion. “Then what should I call you?”
“Anything but ‘wife.'”
Jiang Muyan blinked dizzily, swayed by Cheng Jianli’s words. “I don’t know… What should I call you? Aren’t you my wife?”
Cheng Jianli had explained this countless times, but she patiently repeated, “I’m not.”
Jiang Muyan pouted. “Then why do you look exactly like my wife?”
“Because you’re drunk, so you call everyone ‘wife.'”
“Who says!” Jiang Muyan protested indignantly. “Even drunk, I’d never mistake my wife!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
She didn’t know how to respond, so she just watched in silence. But to Jiang Muyan, this silence was unbearably tempting. After a pause, she slowly leaned in again, blinking dreamily.
“Wife… I really want to kiss you.”
“You can’t. You already kissed my cheek earlier.”
“Then can I kiss somewhere else this time?”
Cheng Jianli’s face flushed lightly, but before she could refuse, Jiang Muyan was already inching closer her lips slightly parted, soft and inviting.
Just as Jiang Muyan, dizzy with desire, was about to close the distance, Cheng Jianli raised a hand to stop her.
A fair arm blocked the way. Jiang Muyan blinked, then immediately brightened.
“Wife, do you want me to kiss your arm instead?”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
“Honestly, you’re impossible,” Jiang Muyan sighed, licking her lips shyly. “Why are you always in such a hurry? Let’s take it slow, okay?”
Cheng Jianli nearly laughed in disbelief. “I’m in a hurry?”
Jiang Muyan blushed. “Aren’t you? You got me drunk, brought me to a couples’ suite, and now you’re offering your arm for me to kiss…”
Cheng Jianli deadpanned, “Who was the one who pinned me to the bed the moment we got here?”
“Me,” Jiang Muyan admitted.
“Then who’s in a hurry?”
Jiang Muyan, still bashful: “You.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Cheng Jianli’s arm was still blocking Jiang Muyan, who wore an expression that seemed to say, “As you wish,” before lowering her head to gently peck Cheng Jianli’s snow-white skin.
That single touch sent a shiver through Cheng Jianli’s entire body, her arm tingling with numbness.
She suddenly realized Jiang Muyan’s lips were quite soft.
But just being kissed like this made the scent of pheromones at the nape of her neck grow even stronger.
Jiang Muyan noticed Cheng Jianli’s eyes, clear as a pool of cool water, bright and tender. Unable to resist, she leaned closer, caressing Cheng Jianli’s fair arm as her peach-pink lips murmured, “Wife…”
Cheng Jianli snapped out of her daze. “What is it?”
Jiang Muyan shyly asked, “Can I help you take off your top?”
The dim overhead light flickered twice, and Jiang Muyan’s words seemed to carry some kind of magic, lingering in Cheng Jianli’s ears as she remained lost in a daze.
She withdrew her wrist. “No.”
Jiang Muyan moved her hand away from Cheng Jianli’s waist, asking foolishly, “Then what do I need to do for you to let me?”
Cheng Jianli found it a little strange, Jiang Muyan kept asking this question, as if she wouldn’t act without her permission.
After a moment’s thought, Cheng Jianli said, “Actually, if you forced it, I wouldn’t be able to stop you. You’re stronger than me.”
A look of confusion crossed Jiang Muyan’s drunken face. “I don’t want to force you.”
Cheng Jianli was puzzled. “Why not?”
“No reason…” Jiang Muyan mumbled, reaching out again to grip Cheng Jianli’s waist the only place she seemed allowed to touch. Her palm pressed there, radiating a faint, scorching heat.
Cheng Jianli’s skin was cool, the autumn wind chilling outside, her only outer layer discarded somewhere by Jiang Muyan. Their body temperatures clashed like ice meeting molten lava an ill-timed collision.
Cheng Jianli asked, “Let me see the back of your neck.”
Checking how far Jiang Muyan’s differentiation had progressed was the most urgent matter.
But Jiang Muyan pouted unhappily. “No.”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
“What’s wrong?” Cheng Jianli asked softly. “Isn’t your neck hurting?”
Jiang Muyan, aggrieved, recalled how Cheng Jianli had resisted earlier, her eyes reddening. “It hurts so much, but you don’t even care. You won’t let me kiss or hold you, so I won’t show you.”
Cheng Jianli’s eyelid twitched. “…Isn’t that exactly what I’m trying to check now?”
Jiang Muyan’s drunken eyes brimmed with sorrow and resentment. “No.”
Cheng Jianli sighed. “Then what do you want?”
Jiang Muyan replied flatly, “Do you let me call you ‘wife’?”
Cheng Jianli thought, what difference did it make? Even if she refused, Jiang Muyan would keep saying it anyway.
So she answered gently, “Call me whatever you like.”
Jiang Muyan immediately grinned, leaning in happily. “Wife, you’re so good to me.”
Cheng Jianli pressed on, “Is your neck still hurting?”
Though alcohol dulled her senses, the throbbing pain of differentiation gnawed at her. “Yeah, it keeps hurting.”
Hearing this, Cheng Jianli insisted, “Let me see.”
Jiang Muyan blinked dazedly. “How?”
“Pull your collar down a little at the back,” Cheng Jianli instructed.
“Then I’ll show you,” Jiang Muyan said, the alcohol in her system slowly metabolizing yet leaving her still dazed, cheeks flushed and breathing heavy. “But you have to strip for me later too, okay?”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
A faint blush lingered on Cheng Jianli’s snow-white cheeks. Though she hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol, a drunken pink hue spread from her neck to her delicate earlobes. Unable to bear Jiang Muyan’s shameless words, she could only reply, “You show me first, then I’ll show you.”
Hearing this, Jiang Muyan immediately grew excited, unable to contain her eagerness: “You can’t lie to me.”
Cheng Jianli said, “Have I ever lied to you?”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head: “I guess not.”
“I’ve never lied to you,” Cheng Jianli said, pulling out a pheromone blocker from her pocket. “This is just a small hotel scents aren’t well contained. Let me spray some blocker on you first, so no one smells your pheromones after you present.”
Though Jiang Muyan didn’t understand, she obediently mumbled, “Oh.”
“Turn around,” Cheng Jianli instructed.
Jiang Muyan turned. She had let her hair down while playing cards earlier, and now the silky strands cascaded like a waterfall down her back, the ends soft and raven-black.
Cheng Jianli gathered it up, then brushed aside the stray wisps to examine where the scent gland was forming.
The nape of Jiang Muyan’s neck was now flushed and burning, far worse than before they’d arrived at the hotel. It must have been excruciating, Cheng Jianli couldn’t fathom how she’d managed to joke around for so long. She sighed inwardly; perhaps the alcohol had numbed her mind, dulling her reactions.
Beneath the skin, the transparent, soft gland lay dormant, already faintly emitting pheromones. As Cheng Jianli leaned closer, she suddenly caught a floral scent rich, intoxicating.
Did Jiang Muyan’s pheromones have something to do with flowers?
But Cheng Jianli had no time to dwell on it. Within seconds of nearing Jiang Muyan, a strange tingling erupted at the back of her own neck. A flood of pheromones surged from her glands, overwhelming her senses and clouding her mind.
As an omega, smelling an alpha’s pheromones especially one with such high compatibility was bound to make her head spin.
Cheng Jianli shook herself, forcing clarity, and quickly sprayed pheromone blocker around them to neutralize the mango scent in the air. If Jiang Muyan, mid-presentation, accidentally caught her scent, it would be disastrous. She used nearly half the bottle before the mango fragrance finally faded slightly.
But Cheng Jianli usually kept her glands sealed with blocker patches to prevent pheromone leakage. Now, fine beads of moisture formed at the back of her neck, sweet-scented, dampening the patch.
Jiang Muyan sat obediently on the bed’s edge, still waiting. She had caught a whiff of mango earlier, though it vanished quickly. Mumbling, she asked, “Wifey, are you done yet?”
Cheng Jianli hummed in response.
Presentation took at least two hours. Jiang Muyan’s gland wasn’t fully developed yet they still had to wait.
Jiang Muyan turned around, confused, and asked, “What did you spray on the back of my neck? Why does it feel so cool?”
“Pheromone suppressant,” Cheng Jianli replied. “It ensures you’ll differentiate safely, and your pheromones won’t leak.”
Jiang Muyan let out an “Oh,” finally able to lean in closer. She mumbled excitedly, “So, is it my turn now?”
Cheng Jianli swallowed, mimicking Jiang Muyan’s usual act of playing dumb. “What do you mean?”
Even in her dazed state, Jiang Muyan’s beautiful face was flawless. Her clear eyes were hazy with intoxication, and as they drew close, her gaze drifted to Cheng Jianli’s collar. She whispered, “I really want to see this part of you, wifey.”
Her hand hovered just above Cheng Jianli’s waist, separated only by a thin T-shirt.
Jiang Muyan’s behavior sent Cheng Jianli’s heart racing or maybe it was just how perfectly their pheromones matched. For the first time, Cheng Jianli felt a burning warmth in her chest, her voice inexplicably turning soft and nervous. “You really want to see?”
Jiang Muyan said, “Didn’t you promise me?”
Cheng Jianli steadied herself and asked again, “Jiang Muyan, let me ask you one more time, what’s our relationship?”
Jiang Muyan answered bluntly as ever, “You’re my wifey.”
Cheng Jianli thought for a moment before asking, “Then do you remember someone called Teacher Cheng?”
Jiang Muyan froze, then muttered in confusion, “Teacher Cheng?”
Cheng Jianli: “Mm.”
Jiang Muyan: “Wifey?”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
“Teacher Cheng is my wifey,” Jiang Muyan suddenly declared, wrapping her arms around Cheng Jianli and pushing her onto the bed. She buried her face in Cheng Jianli’s neck, nuzzling her forehead against her skin. “Hehe, wifey, you’re so good to me. You write me mistake notebooks, make me math practice tests, and even cook dumplings for me… I really like you…”
Cheng Jianli hadn’t expected Jiang Muyan to remember these things. Now, she couldn’t tell if Jiang Muyan was just drunk and calling everyone “wifey,” or if she truly saw her as her wife.
Jiang Muyan’s breath brushed against Cheng Jianli’s earlobe, the heat impossible to ignore. “Wifey,” she murmured, “can we kiss first?”
Cheng Jianli was taken aback. “…Kiss where?”
“Your cheek,” Jiang Muyan said, her fingertip tracing Cheng Jianli’s face. She pouted. “I only got to kiss you once earlier. I want to do it again.”
Cheng Jianli’s heart softened at Jiang Muyan’s pleading tone. She had no choice but to turn her face slightly. “Go ahead.”
Jiang Muyan immediately leaned in and planted a firm kiss before giggling. “Wifey, you’re the best.”
The spot where Jiang Muyan had kissed burned red. Cheng Jianli silently turned her face back, meeting Jiang Muyan’s intoxicated, tender gaze.
That look, it seemed reserved only for her.
Cheng Jianli’s pulse quickened. She had never been moved by anyone before, yet Jiang Muyan, in such a short time, had left her constantly distracted. Ever since they’d met, this person had taken over her life and emotions, stirring ripples in her once-calm heart.
Jiang Muyan, oblivious to Cheng Jianli’s thoughts, let her hand wander along the curve of her waist, her face still buried in Cheng Jianli’s neck, unwilling to pull away. She inhaled the sweet scent, warm and comforting, like a small boat finally finding shelter in a storm.
“Wifey…” Jiang Muyan whispered against Cheng Jianli’s ear.
Cheng Jianli replied softly, “What is it?”
Jiang Muyan murmured vaguely, “Don’t you think this room is really hot?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “It’s fine.”
Jiang Muyan let out a soft “Oh,” then whispered, “But I’m so hot.”
Cheng Jianli said gently, “Your body temperature rises during differentiation. Just bear with it a little longer.”
Jiang Muyan lifted her face and saw the faint blush on Cheng Jianli’s cheeks. Dazed, she murmured, “You’re so gentle, wifey…” She licked her lips, intoxicated by Cheng Jianli’s delicate beauty. “I want to suck on your chest…”
Cheng Jianli’s spine instantly tingled. She parted her lips slightly but couldn’t utter a single word.
Jiang Muyan’s slender fingers trailed along the back of her neck when suddenly, she seemed to touch something and asked in confusion, “Wifey, what’s this you’ve got stuck here…?”
What Jiang Muyan had touched was a pheromone-blocking patch. The gland beneath it kept releasing pheromones, leaving the nape of her neck damp.
Her husky voice followed, “Why are you so wet here? So sensitive…”
