After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 58
The boy glanced at Jiang Muyan, then continued with a lecherous grin toward Cheng Jianli: “Alphas have strong sexual prowess. Interested in playing with me tonight.”
Hearing this, Jiang Muyan flew into a rage. She stood up abruptly and kicked him: “Say one more word to her and see what happens!”
The boy was knocked to the ground by Jiang Muyan’s kick. The commotion drew everyone’s attention, and Tang Yu came over: “What’s going on? What happened?”
Jiang Muyan fumed: “He’s using vulgar language on campus!”
As the head organizer, Tang Yu looked at the boy and realized he wasn’t an athlete. His expression turned stern: “Student, we’re training here. If you have no business here, don’t disturb us.”
Jiang Muyan was still glaring at him. The boy slunk away in disgrace.
Cheng Jianli tugged at Jiang Muyan’s sleeve and said softly, “That’s enough.”
Jiang Muyan turned to her: “Did you hear that?”
Cheng Jianli asked, “Hear what?”
“What he just said, he used disgusting words,” Jiang Muyan replied.
Cheng Jianli paused before answering, “Actually, I didn’t even catch what he said.”
“Good,” Jiang Muyan muttered. “Trash like him dares to say such things on campus. His private life must be a complete mess.”
“Are you going to keep training?” Cheng Jianli asked.
Jiang Muyan’s good mood was ruined. She hated it when sleazy guys hit on Cheng Jianli, especially with such filthy language. It reminded her of the first time she met Cheng Jianli in the equipment room, when Xiao Lei had tried to photograph Cheng Jianli during her differentiation.
Though usually even-tempered, Jiang Muyan lost all rationality when it came to matters involving Cheng Jianli whether it was being falsely accused of cheating by Zhang Siyuan or being dragged to the academic office by Zhang Qiang and Cheng Tianwei.
In a low voice, Jiang Muyan said, “No, let’s go.”
Cheng Jianli nodded, picking up her school uniform and backpack from under the tree to leave.
Xu Yinghe called out to Jiang Muyan: “Are you heading home?”
Jiang Muyan replied, “Yeah, I don’t feel like training anymore.”
Xu Yinghe frowned as she watched Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli walk away. Suddenly, she remembered the time Jiang Muyan was drunk at the bar, she had seen Jiang Muyan’s phone, where Cheng Jianli was saved as “Wife.”
A question surfaced in Xu Yinghe’s mind.
What exactly was the relationship between Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli?
Luo Jiajia stood frozen nearby: “The young miss is angry?”
Xu Yinghe said, “I don’t know.”
Luo Jiajia couldn’t believe it: “Seriously? Even someone as good-natured as her got mad? What on earth did that guy say to Cheng Jianli?”
Xu Yinghe replied indifferently, “I didn’t hear.” She tugged at Luo Jiajia’s arm. “Let’s go too.”
Luo Jiajia gave an “Oh,” but as she turned, she suddenly noticed You Xia standing behind a tree. She nudged Xu Yinghe with her elbow and asked curiously, “What’s going on? That girl seems to be staring at you.”
Xu Yinghe didn’t even bother to look back, simply saying, “Not my business.”
Her coldness only made Luo Jiacha want to tease her. Leaning in, Luo Jiajia whispered playfully, “Why so harsh? Do you know her?”
Sure enough, You Xia’s expression stiffened when she saw Xu Yinghe and Luo Jiajia acting intimate.
Xu Yinghe frowned and grabbed Luo Jiajia’s restless hands: “Enough.”
Luo Jiajia grinned playfully, “Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you.”
But in her heart, she was already buzzing with excitement, wondering if that girl had a crush on Xu Yinghe.
Jiang Muyan and Cheng Jianli got into their family car. Jiang Muyan was still in low spirits, so after a moment of thought, Cheng Jianli lowered the soundproof partition and asked gently, “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Muyan muttered, “I don’t like it when people say those kinds of things to you.”
Cheng Jianli replied, “I didn’t hear it clearly.”
Jiang Muyan pouted, “That doesn’t matter. What he said was disgusting.”
Cheng Jianli teased her deliberately, “But don’t you often joke around with me too?”
Though Cheng Jianli had never gotten angry at those jokes because she knew Jiang Muyan’s heart was pure and kind.
“But I would never mean it seriously. I respect you,” Jiang Muyan said indignantly. “That guy just wanted to hook up with you, Teacher Cheng. Don’t believe people like that.”
“Hook up with me?” Cheng Jianli frowned. “Hook up for what?”
Jiang Muyan froze, her face flushing red. “I mean, I mean…” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “He wanted to do that with you.”
Cheng Jianli’s expression darkened.
Seeing the change in her face, Jiang Muyan said pitifully, “I didn’t want to say it, but that’s what that guy meant.”
Cheng Jianli asked, “How do you even know that kind of term?” After a pause, she added, “Did someone say it to you, or have you said it to someone else?”
Jiang Muyan immediately protested, “How could I say that to anyone?! I’ve never even dated anyone!”
Cheng Jianli smiled faintly. “Didn’t you date someone in your dreams?”
Jiang Muyan’s face turned even redder. “That was a joke! It was so long ago, why do you still remember that?”
Cheng Jianli said calmly, “I have a good memory.”
“But I’ve never said that to anyone. A friend told me about it,” Jiang Muyan continued. “Teacher Cheng, you absolutely can’t trust people like that. Someone so casual must have a really messy personal life!”
Cheng Jianli hummed in agreement and looked out the window. “I’m not interested in people like that anyway.”
Hearing this, Jiang Muyan relaxed. After a moment, she perked up again and bragged to Cheng Jianli, “My baton pass today was super smooth! I feel like we’re definitely going to win first place for Class 2!”
Cheng Jianli asked, “Which leg did Tang Yu assign you?”
Jiang Muyan said, “The anchor leg!”
Cheng Jianli remarked, “That’s a lot of pressure.”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head. “It’s fine. I think I’m pretty fast shouldn’t be a problem.”
Cheng Jianli chuckled. “Do you want me to wait for you at the finish line?”
Jiang Muyan’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
“Really,” Cheng Jianli smiled. “I’ll wait for you there.”
“Then you better keep your word,” Jiang Muyan said, her bright gaze lingering on Cheng Jianli. “I want you to be the first person I see at the finish line.”
When they returned to the villa, Jiang Muyan mentioned that after the sports meet, Class 2 would have a celebration party their last chance to relax before midterms.
Uncle Liu went to park the car, and the housekeeper took their backpacks, smiling. “Miss, the kitchen just made fresh watermelon juice. Would you and Teacher Cheng like some?”
Jiang Muyan nodded. “Sure! Teacher Cheng, let’s go have a glass.”
Cheng Jianli nodded. “I’ll go back to my room to change first. Wait for me in the kitchen.”
Jiang Muyan responded with an “Oh,” then said, “Hurry up then.”
Cheng Jianli went upstairs. Her room happened to be directly across from Jiang Muyan’s. Uncle Liu had prepared a spacious room for her with a beige color scheme and a light pink double bed.
After changing into her home clothes, she was about to head downstairs when her phone suddenly rang in her pocket.
Fastening the last button, Cheng Jianli answered, “Hello?”
“It’s me,” came Gu Xi’s voice from the other end.
Recognizing the voice, Cheng Jianli was slightly surprised. “How have you been? What’s the matter?”
Gu Xi seemed to be jogging in a park, with children’s cheerful shouts in the background. “Nothing much. I just heard your family went to Hongchuan No. 7 High School to see you recently.” Gu Xi was aware of Cheng Jianli’s family situation her mother had passed away, and she had a father who favored sons over daughters. Tentatively, she asked, “Are you okay? Did your dad or uncle give you any trouble?”
Knowing Gu Xi was calling out of concern, Cheng Jianli replied gently as she descended the stairs, “No.”
“That’s good. A few days ago, I saw on the school forum that your uncle was arrested by the police. I was worried something might have happened to you too. Glad you’re fine.”
Cheng Jianli slowed her steps. “Mm.”
Understanding Cheng Jianli wasn’t much of a talker, Gu Xi chatted casually for a bit before saying, “I won’t keep you then. I’ll come to you next time I have questions about homework.”
“Alright. You can bring the test papers over. ”
Just as she finished speaking, Cheng Jianli’s foot slipped, and she tumbled forward.
With a loud thud, she fell down the stairs, her phone flung several meters away.
The housekeeper in the living room was horrified and rushed over to help her up. “Miss Cheng, are you okay?!”
Cheng Jianli’s upper body was fine, but her calf ached from the fall. She managed to stand. “I’m fine!”
Then came Jiang Muyan’s anxious voice from the kitchen. “Miss Cheng, what happened?”
Jiang Muyan came out to see two housekeepers supporting Cheng Jianli, her face pale and her pants dusty clearly, she had fallen down the stairs.
She hurried over. “Are you okay?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “I’m fine. Just took a tumble.”
Jiang Muyan looked frantic. “Where did you hurt yourself? Does it hurt?”
“My calf.”
Without hesitation, Jiang Muyan scooped Cheng Jianli up and headed upstairs, instructing the housekeeper, “Get me some bruise ointment.”
This wasn’t the first time Jiang Muyan had carried Cheng Jianli like this. Once, when Cheng Jianli had fainted from heatstroke during P.E., Jiang Muyan had carried her to the infirmary. But back then, she had been unconscious now, she was fully aware.
Uncomfortable, Cheng Jianli tugged at Jiang Muyan’s sleeve and cleared her throat. “Put me down. I can walk.”
Ignoring her, Jiang Muyan carried her into the room and set her on the bed, her voice tense. “You just fell down the stairs! That’s dangerous. What if you broke something?”
Cheng Jianli found Jiang Muyan’s worried expression somewhat endearing. “It’s just a scrape on my calf, red and swollen, maybe a little broken skin. No way it’s broken.”
Jiang Muyan said seriously, “You still have to meet me at the finish line. I don’t want to not see you there.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
So it was about the finish line incident.
Jiang Muyan rolled up Cheng Jianli’s pant leg to her knee and indeed found a scrape on her calf. The housekeeper brought in some medicated alcohol, and Jiang Muyan said, “Let me apply this for you.”
“No need.” Cheng Jianli didn’t think it was a big deal.
Jiang Muyan pouted. “Why won’t you let me? Teacher Cheng, don’t you want to come meet me at the finish line anymore?”
Cheng Jianli sighed. “…This wound doesn’t affect my walking.”
But seeing Jiang Muyan’s sullen expression, Cheng Jianli relented. “Fine, go ahead. At this rate, the scrape will heal before you even get to it.”
Jiang Muyan immediately brightened. “Okay!”
As the cool medicated alcohol touched her skin, Cheng Jianli stared idly at the ceiling.
A few minutes later, however, Cheng Jianli noticed Jiang Muyan sneaking glances at her knee.
She frowned. “What are you looking at?”
Jiang Muyan froze, then stammered, her face flushing. “N-Nothing.”
Cheng Jianli: “? Then why are you blushing?”
Jiang Muyan stubbornly insisted, “I’m not blushing! x”
“Go look in the mirror your ears are red too.” The room held only the two of them, and with her pant leg rolled up, Cheng Jianli’s fair calf was exposed. She asked softly, “What do you want to do?”
Jiang Muyan scratched her head and answered earnestly, “I just think your knee is so pale and pink. I really want to do this one thing to it.”
Cheng Jianli: “…?”
Thing?
For some reason, the words made her inexplicably nervous, and she instinctively pulled her leg back slightly.
Jiang Muyan pressed on sincerely. “Can I?”
Now it was Cheng Jianli’s turn to blush. Keeping her tone steady, she asked, “What are you going to do?”
Then she gently moved her leg closer, silently giving permission.
With approval granted, Jiang Muyan immediately clenched her fist and excitedly tapped Cheng Jianli’s knee.
Cheng Jianli: “?”
When her leg didn’t jerk, Jiang Muyan gasped in shock. “Teacher Cheng, why don’t you have a knee-jerk reflex?!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
As expected, ordinary people could never follow Jiang Muyan’s train of thought.
