After Transmigrating into a Ridiculous Alpha, I Saved My Aloof Omega Wife - Chapter 13
“Or you could just tell me where to buy this, I can get it myself.” Jiang Muyan really loved this sweet mango scent if her wife had it, she wanted it too.
Cheng Jianli stared at her for a moment before finally opening her backpack and handing over a small box. “Don’t tell anyone I gave this to you.”
The box was about the size of a wallet, likely a portable version, containing five or six round “band-aids.”
Jiang Muyan took it in surprise. “All for me?”
“I have more at home.” Scent-blocking patches weren’t expensive, and since Jiang Muyan had helped her today, Cheng Jianli wasn’t completely cold-hearted.
“Thank you!”
Jiang Muyan’s gratitude was earnest and sincere. Cheng Jianli wasn’t sure what she would present as… Hadn’t she mentioned last time that she’d likely be an alpha?
Cheng Jianli’s fingers twitched slightly.
Unaware of her thoughts, Jiang Muyan asked shyly, “Are these all mango-scented?”
Cheng Jianli gave a vague hum in response.
“It smells so good, why is it so fragrant?” Curious, Jiang Muyan picked up one of the patches and sniffed it.
Witnessing this odd behavior, Cheng Jianli silently turned her face toward the car window.
Jiang Muyan peeled off the old patch from the back of her neck and tucked it into her pocket. “But compared to yours, it’s still not quite the same. Yours seems sweeter.”
Cheng Jianli frowned. “You can smell my scent?”
Jiang Muyan froze. “…Only sometimes, when you’re close to me. It’s faint, though. Last time, when I fainted and you carried me, that’s when I noticed it.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
It seemed distance affected the patch’s effectiveness. Next time, she’d have to apply more scent-blocking spray before going out.
At least Jiang Muyan hadn’t presented yet otherwise, she might’ve been easily influenced by her pheromones.
Jiang Muyan added, “Can you help me put this on?”
Cheng Jianli: “?”
Jiang Muyan: “I want to change to a new one!”
Cheng Jianli: “Do it yourself when you get back and you know it’s weird for you to be wearing these, right?”
Jiang Muyan: “Why?”
Cheng Jianli: “…You’re not injured.”
Jiang Muyan: “But I love the smell.”
Cheng Jianli fell silent before finally saying, “You still have two major math problems left to solve. Don’t forget to finish them when you get back.”
“Xiao Cheng, can we not talk about schoolwork?” Jiang Muyan groaned.
Cheng Jianli: “What else is there to talk about?”
“You gave me these patches, so let me buy you something in return!” Excited, Jiang Muyan raised the car’s partition. “Uncle Liu, take us to the nearest mall.”
Cheng Jianli: “???”
She truly couldn’t follow Jiang Muyan’s train of thought.
“It’s too late to go to the mall now,” Cheng Jianli said. “Just take me home. I have things to do tomorrow.”
“It won’t take long. I’ll buy you whatever you want!” Jiang Muyan thumped her chest confidently.
Cheng Jianli frowned slightly. “I don’t need anything.”
Jiang Muyan’s expression instantly fell. “Really? But I feel bad taking something from you for free.”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Didn’t you ask for it yourself?
“Miss, shall we go to the mall or return to Teacher Cheng’s place?” Uncle Liu didn’t know what his young mistress and Teacher Cheng had discussed, but he followed instructions nonetheless.
Jiang Muyan glanced at Cheng Jianli and asked cautiously, “Are you sure we can’t go to the mall?”
Her pitiful expression gave Cheng Jianli the fleeting illusion that refusing would make her feel guilty. After a moment’s hesitation, she finally nodded. “Fine, but I really don’t need anything.”
Uncle Liu parked the car in the underground garage, and Jiang Muyan pulled Cheng Jianli inside. This was a place Cheng Jianli would never have set foot in otherwise some of the items here cost as much as ten of her tutoring sessions. Carrying her backpack, she stared at everything in slight bewilderment.
Jiang Muyan asked excitedly, “Teacher Cheng, what kind of clothes do you like?”
Cheng Jianli replied, “You don’t need to buy me anything. I’m just accompanying you.”
“It’s fine, we’re just browsing. Let’s go upstairs first,” Jiang Muyan said, holding Cheng Jianli’s wrist as they took the elevator to the fifth floor. “Oh, right, I interrupted your milk tea break earlier today. Let me buy you a cup to make up for it.”
Before Cheng Jianli could respond, Jiang Muyan dashed off to the milk tea shop ahead. The two shop assistants wore cute blue headbands with little wobbly ducklings on them.
In less than two minutes, Jiang Muyan returned with the milk tea. Cheng Jianli took it. “Thank you.”
“You’re welcome! Drink up.”
Unable to refuse, Cheng Jianli took a sip, it was mango-flavored.
Jiang Muyan kept staring at her. Cheng Jianli frowned. “What is it?”
“I got you a hot drink. Am I not thoughtful?”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
She recalled that Gu Xi had taken her to an iced milk tea shop earlier and wondered if Jiang Muyan was still holding onto that. She had no choice but to say, “Yes, very thoughtful. Thank you.”
Jiang Muyan loved it when Cheng Jianli thanked her, it made her feel needed, filling her heart with sweetness.
She led Cheng Jianli further into the mall, and before they knew it, they reached the women’s clothing floor. Suddenly, Jiang Muyan spotted someone and stopped, nudging Cheng Jianli. “Teacher Cheng, isn’t that our homeroom teacher?”
Cheng Jianli looked up. The person inside the store was indeed Zhang Wen, the homeroom teacher of Class 2, whom they had met earlier that day.
“Let’s go. We shouldn’t disturb her during her break,” Cheng Jianli said, trying to pull Jiang Muyan away. But just then, a lingerie shop assistant noticed them and greeted them warmly, “How can I help you two?”
Zhang Wen, who had been browsing lingerie, turned at the sound and saw two of her students standing at the entrance.
She had a few newly purchased undergarments draped over her arm, not yet bagged. Jiang Muyan, with her sharp eyesight, tugged Cheng Jianli forward and greeted her. “Teacher, shopping alone?”
Zhang Wen, only about ten years older than them, seemed slightly awkward running into students outside school. “Y-yes. What are you two doing here so late? Shouldn’t you be heading home?”
Jiang Muyan’s gaze drifted to the items Zhang Wen had bought and exclaimed cheerfully, “Teacher! That color looks great! You have such good taste!”
Zhang Wen: “…”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
Having heard that Jiang Muyan was overly familiar, Zhang Wen quickly paid and said, “You two should go home early.”
With that, she hurried off.
Jiang Muyan asked Cheng Jianli in confusion, “Why is the teacher walking so fast?”
Cheng Jianli tactfully replied, “Perhaps because your evaluation was too heartfelt.”
Jiang Muyan said cheerfully, “Really? I just transferred to Class 2, so I need to exchange more pleasantries with the homeroom teacher!”
Cheng Jianli: “…”
