After Transmigrating Into A Novel, Not Only Did I Become An Omega, But I Also Provoked The Male Lead’s Mother - Chapter 15
Knowing that anyone brazen enough to snatch someone in broad daylight must be dangerous, Ling Jixiao summoned the Ling family’s security guards.
The Ling family, a multi-generational aristocracy with deep resources, had invested in their own security company, ensuring their guards were elite professionals.
Among them was a computer expert responsible for safeguarding the Ling family and company networks. His usual duties were routine maintenance, making his job relatively uneventful.
While he couldn’t hack into government agencies like the Police Department, he could easily breach traffic surveillance systems to monitor and review footage.
After receiving Ling Jixiao’s request to find Qin Yue, the expert immediately hacked into the traffic cameras. He identified the van that had abducted Qin Yue, retrieved the driver’s face, and traced the vehicle’s route.
Arriving at the hotel pinpointed by the surveillance data, Ling Jixiao approached the front desk. Four burly, black-suited bodyguards followed behind her, their imposing presence making her seem even more delicate and vulnerable.
The hotel was a luxury establishment, and the front desk staff had seen wealthy clients arrive with entourages of bodyguards. They weren’t intimidated by Ling Jixiao’s imposing presence and greeted her with a polite smile, asking if she was there to check in.
“I’m looking for someone,” Ling Jixiao said, her voice cool and detached.
The bodyguard captain produced a printed photo of the person they were searching for. The image was blurry, clearly a screenshot from a video.
The front desk attendant studied the photo carefully before shaking his head. “I’m sorry, I haven’t seen this person before.”
Ling Jixiao tried to request the guest list, but the attendant immediately refused, citing privacy concerns.
She frowned, debating whether to call Chairman Zhang of the hotel group for assistance. Though she knew him, their relationship wasn’t close enough to warrant such a favor.
The bodyguard captain glanced around and spotted the surveillance cameras. He pointed at them, indicating his desire to review the footage.
Just as he was about to speak, he noticed two suspicious figures lurking nearby. His sharp eyes quickly assessed the situation, and he discreetly signaled to his teammates.
Two bodyguards moved with lightning speed, tackling the two men before they could escape.
While Ling Jingxi was away, Ling Jixiao and her four bodyguards were all at the front desk. They were busy asking questions and paying close attention to the receptionist, so Ling Jingxi took the opportunity to slip away unnoticed.
In Ling Jingxi’s mind, his mother, Ling Jixiao, was a coldhearted Alpha. After all, how could an Alpha be indifferent to Omegas? Over the years, he had never seen Ling Jixiao show any interest in an Omega. In fact, when a few Omegas had even gone so far as to deliberately release pheromones to seduce her, Ling Jixiao had recoiled in disgust, her expression filled with revulsion.
Ling Jingxi had always assumed Ling Jixiao was attracted to Betas or Alphas. But after all these years, he’d never seen her have any close relationships, as if she had no physical needs at all. Her work was her only companion.
So Ling Jingxi left without a second thought. Even though he knew Qin Yue’s situation, he wasn’t worried. In his mind, even if Ling Jixiao was an Alpha, she was a useless one. The proper, upright Ling Jixiao would undoubtedly frown and send Qin Yue straight to the hospital. His only concern now was that Ling Jixiao might discover he was here.
As long as he wasn’t found out, he could simply claim ignorance.
Ling Jingxi still carried the Male Lead’s halo. He slipped away unnoticed, like a thief in the night.
Meanwhile, Young Master Zhang’s two lackeys watched Ling Jingxi leave, utterly bewildered. After a whispered exchange, they decided it would be best to report back to Young Master Zhang first.
Their luck was running out. Just as they lowered their heads to leave, the Bodyguard Captain was scanning the crowd. His sharp eyes, honed by years of training in human assessment, easily picked out one of them as the man in the photo.
Two guards immediately grabbed the pair.
“Tell me, where is she?” Ling Jixiao demanded, her voice cold and stern.
Instead of answering, the two men struggled fiercely.
Their commotion drew the attention of the hotel security, who rushed over.
“These two stole my things,” Ling Jixiao explained calmly.
“Would you like us to call the police, ma’am?” the security guard asked.
“No need. I’ll handle it myself.” Ling Jixiao pulled out her phone, waving the 110 already dialed on the screen.
The hotel security’s involvement stemmed solely from concern for the hotel’s reputation. Once the men left the premises, they were no longer their responsibility. These were influential figures, beyond their authority to manage.
The bodyguards forced the two men out of the hotel. The shorter, thinner one, showing some quick wit, shouted about assault and threatened to sue, but made no mention of calling the police.
Ling Jixiao calmly followed her bodyguards, pressing the men out of the hotel. Their exit drew only fleeting glances from passersby, and the hotel staff quickly returned to their duties.
After shoving the two men into the bodyguard’s van, Ling Jixiao climbed in, her face impassive.
“Where are they?” Ling Jixiao asked coolly.
The two subordinates exchanged a glance, seemingly reaching a silent agreement.
“Who exactly are you people? Why are you kidnapping us?!”
“What are you talking about?! Who are you? Let us go immediately!”
“Release us now, or don’t blame us for getting violent!”
The two men began to argue loudly, back and forth, their voices grating on Ling Jixiao’s nerves and giving her a headache.
The Captain glanced at Ling Jixiao and signaled to the bodyguard standing nearby.
The bodyguard quickly moved in, landing a solid punch in each man’s stomach.
Both men doubled over instantly, gasping in pain, unable to speak.
“I’d advise you to tell the truth,” the Captain said coldly.
The taller, heavier man gasped for air, his hands trembling as he thought, Maybe I should just spill the truth! These guys in black are all monsters! I don’t want any more pain!
But the shorter, thinner man quickly spoke up, cutting off the taller man’s confession.
“Did you… did you grab the wrong people?” the thinner man stammered, his earlier arrogant tone now replaced by panic. He shot a warning glare at the taller man beside him.
The taller man shuddered, understanding the warning. Right, we can’t reveal the truth, especially not about Young Master Zhang. If he finds out, he’ll have us killed!
Ling Jixiao’s patience was wearing thin. Every minute that passed was another minute Qin Yue remained in danger.
The Bodyguard Captain noticed the urgency in Ling Jixiao’s eyes. He leaned in and whispered, “Young Miss, please step out of the car. Leave this to me. I’ll get them to talk.”
Ling Jixiao nodded. “Hurry,” she said, and stepped out.
The car door closed. Ling Jixiao stood beside the vehicle as it shook violently, followed by muffled cries of pain and stifled groans.
A moment later, the Bodyguard Captain opened the door and handed her an object. “This was found on them.”
Ling Jixiao took it—a hotel room key card with the name of the current hotel printed on it.
She looked up at the hotel’s massive sign, pondered for a few seconds, and asked in a cool voice, “Did they talk?”
“My apologies, Young Miss. They’re being stubborn, but we’ll get them to talk soon.” The Captain seemed genuinely ashamed.
“No need. Send them to the police department.” Ling Jixiao strode toward the hotel entrance.
The Captain nodded. He ordered two guards to watch the suspects until the police arrived, then followed Ling Jixiao into the hotel with the remaining guard.
This time, Ling Jixiao bypassed the front desk and headed straight for the elevators.
Ling Jixiao stepped into the elevator and swiped the room keycard she’d taken from the two men. With a beep, the doors closed and the elevator began to ascend.
Before long, the elevator doors opened.
Fortunately, this hotel, aiming to showcase its luxury, had designed the presidential suite with a private elevator that delivered guests directly to the suite’s entrance with a single keycard.
The keycard read 1308.
She swiped the card to open the door, and the two bodyguards, still wary of potential intruders, kept their eyes fixed on the entrance. But the suite was empty.
Ling Jixiao stepped inside, scanning the room. There was no sign of anyone.
Could we have been mistaken? Is Qin Yue not here after all?
After a moment’s thought, she headed toward the bathroom near the door and pushed it open. It was empty.
The presidential suite had two bedrooms. Ling Jixiao opened one of them. The bed was perfectly made, without a single wrinkle—clearly, no one had been here.
Could I have actually been mistaken?
Ling Jixiao’s anxiety began to rise.
Just then, a faint sound, like the weak whimper of a kitten, drifted through the air.
Ling Jixiao immediately turned toward the door of the other room.
Someone’s inside!
The two bodyguards behind her tensed, their vigilance heightened.
After all, this was a brazen street abduction, carried out right under the nose of the Minghui Group’s CEO. There might be some sinister plot at play—caution was paramount!
As Ling Jixiao approached, she heard several stifled sounds.
The closer she got, the more familiar the voice sounded.
It was Qin Yue!
She hurried over and flung the door open. A thick, alluring peach scent—Omega pheromones—hit her like a physical force, making her stagger and momentarily blur her vision. She slammed the door shut again.
Panting, she glared at the Bodyguard Captain behind her. “Stay back.”
The two bodyguards—one an Alpha, the other a Beta—knew that while Omega pheromones had little effect on Betas, they could be highly potent for Alphas.
The Bodyguard Captain understood immediately. He had caught a whiff of the concentrated Omega pheromones the moment Ling Jixiao opened the door. Thankfully, his rigorous training had honed his self-control. He quickly retreated toward the outer door.
Ling Jixiao took a deep breath, ordered the remaining bodyguard to stand watch outside, and stepped into the room.
Qin Yue’s pheromones were incredibly potent, radiating an irresistible allure that drew Ling Jixiao in.
Ling Jixiao’s eyes grew deep with desire, her tongue unconsciously licking her Alpha’s distinctive canine teeth.
She suppressed the urge to rush over and tear the clothes off the Omega on the bed, shaking her head to clear her mind. She knew something was seriously wrong with Qin Yue, and she couldn’t even be sure if the environment was safe.
“How are you feeling?” Ling Jixiao asked softly, gently patting Qin Yue’s cheek. The skin was scalding hot, the heat making Ling Jixiao’s heart tremble.
This was clearly not normal!
Qin Yue was delirious, but she seemed to be clinging to consciousness through sheer willpower. Sensing someone’s approach, she frowned deeply, murmuring repeatedly, “Get away… Don’t touch me… Stay back…”
“It’s safe now. It’s me, Ling Jixiao!” Ling Jixiao whispered.
But Qin Yue couldn’t process the words. Driven by the last shred of her consciousness, she struggled and pushed against Ling Jixiao, desperate to protect herself.
Ling Jixiao tried to pick Qin Yue up and take her to the hospital, but Qin Yue curled into a tight ball, making it impossible to move her.
Gritting her teeth, Ling Jixiao cupped Qin Yue’s cheek with one hand and tore off her own Suppressant Patch with the other.
If she released her pheromones, Qin Yue would know she was the mint-scented woman.
Forget it. If Qin Yue finds out it’s me, so what? Even if she gets angry or resents me later, at least this will calm her enough to let me take her to the hospital.
The mint-scented pheromones surged forth, gradually enveloping Qin Yue, who was curled up in a tight ball.
It felt like a gentle hand caressing her, warm and comforting.
Alpha pheromones have a calming effect on Omegas, especially those from a marked Alpha. The familiar scent and sense of security were etched deep within Qin Yue’s body.
In her hazy state, Qin Yue recognized the familiar mint scent. Is the mint-scented woman here?
Her tense body relaxed.
At least the mint-scented woman wasn’t an enemy.
Qin Yue struggled to open her eyes. The pain, the endurance, the uncertainty, and the fear had already reddened her eyes, tears welling up and threatening to spill over in a pitiful sight.
Through her blurred vision, and with the woman’s back turned to the ceiling light, Qin Yue could only make out a vague silhouette.
“Don’t cry. It’s alright now,” the woman said softly, wiping the tears from Qin Yue’s eyes. She reached out and drew Qin Yue into a warm embrace.
