After Transmigrating into a Book, I Was Entangled by a Crazy and Beautiful Villain - Chapter 2
Although it was obvious she was being looked down upon, Song Linlin couldn’t muster any feeling of anger, but rather felt it was quite deserved.
Seeing the woman’s pale face and recalling the words she had overheard earlier, Song Linlin roughly guessed what kind of trouble she had stumbled into.
Those two middle-aged men clearly weren’t good people. Their demonic energy was so strong it was almost tangible, and they were obviously trying to take advantage of the woman’s poor state.
This was entirely consistent with the behavior of demonic cultivators.
“Those two must be at least at the Nascent Soul realm or above, right? Ten of me wouldn’t even be enough to clean their teeth…”
Song Linlin couldn’t think of any way to escape. At this moment, she actually regretted running away mid-task. At least the mission boss hadn’t ascended to the Nascent Soul realm yet, and the heroine’s team had managed to return with a few survivors.
But facing these two demonic cultivators, Song Linlin’s body couldn’t help but tremble just from their presence, and she had no desire to resist whatsoever.
She had no doubt that these two would not show any mercy when they made their move.
What should I do now?
Song Linlin’s gaze involuntarily drifted back to the silver-haired woman not far away. She hadn’t shown much interest in her just now.
If she won, would she let her go?
Looking at the somewhat slender figure, Song Linlin couldn’t offer any help and could only silently pray that the woman would defeat the two demonic cultivators.
Chi Qianning quietly watched the two brothers confronting her, her eyes filled with a faint disdain. Her bloodless lips parted slightly, her voice clear and cold, like snow in winter, devoid of any warmth.
“Just two arrogant Greater Vehicle-realm ants…”
“To deal with you, I don’t even need to use a weapon.”
Her flat statement held no ripples, as if she were calmly stating a fact, never once taking their threat seriously.
Song Linlin listened, dumbfounded, and instinctively took a few steps back, complaining internally:
“Greater Vehicle-realm cultivators are being called ants! Then what am I, at the Foundation Establishment realm? A microorganism?”
Not only was Song Linlin stunned, but the two brothers opposite her were equally shocked. The older man, after hearing this, didn’t get angry but instead laughed, his laughter laced with a grinding malice.
The next moment, he charged out first, sharply shouting, “Normally, we wouldn’t dare plot against you, but now you are nothing more than a spent force! Second Brother, attack together! Kill her!”
A powerful gust of wind swept over, and intense demonic energy erupted instantly. Before Song Linlin could even react to what was happening, she was blasted away by their aura.
She flew straight backward and fell with a “smack” into a pile of grass taller than a person, getting a mouthful of grass clippings. Her body, which had already taken a fall once, was once again in pain.
Song Linlin only felt dizzy and faint, her ears ringing with a buzzing sound, stars dancing in her vision, and her bones feeling as if they had been scattered.
Fortunately, she wasn’t blown directly into the stone wall; otherwise, that impact would have taken most of her life.
“How come when you guys fight, I’m the one who gets unlucky…”
Song Linlin lay on the ground, unable to move for a moment. The severe tinnitus prevented her from hearing the outcome of the trio’s fight, only vaguely making out the muffled sounds of combat.
Chi Qianning calmly watched the two figures attacking her, the hem of her clothes whipping in the wind. Her unbound silver hair billowed, and her crimson eyes, like those of a snake, stared coldly and dangerously at her opponents.
She frowned slightly. Although she found these two guys extremely annoying—normally Chi Qianning could string their heads up like skewers with a single sword strike and then kick them around like balls—she had to admit that they were right about one thing: Chi Qianning was currently in a very poor state, her strength greatly diminished, which was why she chose to find a nearby place to enter seclusion for recovery.
As a result, these two guys accidentally discovered her. Demonic cultivators are mostly lunatics who can take risks for immediate profit and fight to the death. Her unstable condition gave these two disgusting individuals the delusion that they could covet her.
But that was just a delusion. Although it would be a bit troublesome and cost her something, eliminating these two was still not a problem.
She looked coldly at the two men getting closer and their impending attack. Chi Qianning gently raised her hand; her skin was so white it seemed to glow in the moonlight. A delicate silver snake-shaped ring was coiled around her long middle finger.
Following her movement, the originally dim snake-eyes on the ring began to glow red, like a pair of rubies. What looked like a gentle palm strike effortlessly resolved the two demonic cultivators’ aggressive attack.
The two attackers were instantly interrupted and suffered a backlash, spitting blood. They flew backward like kites with cut strings, dragging a long trail on the ground until their bodies hit the stone wall and finally stopped.
Shards of internal organs mixed with fresh blood were coughed up. The older man clutched his chest, his voice hoarse, “Damn it, we were careless!”
His eyes glared venomously at Chi Qianning. “I didn’t expect you to still possess such power even in your weakened state… We brothers miscalculated…”
“I’m not interested in your last words.”
Her gaze remained icy, her red eyes burning with a blood-colored flame compared to before.
“Big Brother! Don’t waste words with her!” another venomous voice rang out. Madness now held the absolute edge. He shouted, “Wicked woman! Since we’re going to die either way, then let’s drag you to hell with us!”
A vicious light flashed in his eyes, and terrifying power fluctuations gradually spread. His older brother clearly understood what he was saying, and his eyes were likewise filled with madness.
Chi Qianning immediately realized what the two intended to do. Their plan had failed, they would surely die since they couldn’t defeat her, and now they were trying to self-detonate their Core, aiming for mutual destruction.
“Lunatics,” Chi Qianning cursed under her breath. Fighting these demonic practitioners was the most annoying thing because their brains were likely eaten; they loved these insane actions of self-detonating their Cores, the “If I can’t live, neither can you” approach.
Her current state was poor; enduring such an impact would definitely injure her. Without any hesitation, she instantly appeared before the two men. Terrifying power gathered, and she struck out with a palm.
“Boom!”
A massive explosion erupted. Lying far away in the grass pile, Song Linlin felt a flash of white light before her eyes. The tremendous sound instantly brought her wide awake.
She covered her ears, her body curled up. Gusts of violent wind swept through, uprooting the taller-than-a-person weeds and sending them flying in the air.
Song Linlin was forced to choke on another mouthful of grass clippings but dared not make a sound, only screaming silently in her mind:
“Are those three trying to collapse this place?!”
“They’re fighting so fiercely! If this place collapses, you three mighty ones might not be smashed, but I’ll definitely be buried alive!”
The sound gradually subsided, and the white light vanished. The gloomy night once again claimed the area, though unlike before, the clouds obscuring the sky seemed to have dispersed, and the moon emerged, casting a soft, clear glow.
There was no sound left around. The weeds that had been flying in the sky fell back to the ground. Song Linlin was nearly buried by the grass. She huddled in the pile, afraid to make any sudden moves.
The scene was deathly quiet.
Song Linlin held her head. She couldn’t see the outside situation, but she couldn’t suppress her curiosity. The winner would determine whether she lived through the night.
She waited for dozens of breaths, but still no sound came from around her. Song Linlin wondered:
Is it possible all three died together???
Then can I run away?
However, just as this thought crossed her mind, the sound of falling stones and a rustling movement came from a distance.
Song Linlin’s heart panicked. She wished she could bury her face in the dirt and continue playing possum, silently chanting:
“You don’t see me, you don’t see me, you don’t see me…”
But things did not go as she wished.
“You there, come over.” The female voice carried from afar, trembling slightly, with the panting sound of battle.
Song Linlin was flustered. She pushed away the grass covering her and shakily stood up. She wasn’t sure if the third time she stayed put, the response would be a prompt or an attack.
When Song Linlin finally saw the surroundings clearly, she was even more shocked. Originally, this area was a relatively open space. Although overgrown with weeds, it could still be considered flourishing with life.
Now, one stone wall had collapsed, with rubble scattered around. Centered on the area, all plants within a certain radius had vanished, and even the ground had been blasted into a large pit.
It could truly be called a complete mess.
And the red-robed woman was leaning against a stone wall, her eyes fixed directly on her.
Song Linlin didn’t dare to delay. Her body was still in pain everywhere, but she forced herself to immediately walk toward the woman. As she got closer, she could see that the woman opposite her was also not in a good state.
Her face was undoubtedly paler. The originally clean red dress was stained with dust, the edges of her sleeves were torn, and her silver hair was scattered across her chest. She was panting slightly, her crimson eyes narrowed, examining Song Linlin from head to toe.
This made Song Linlin shiver. She had a dangerous premonition of being targeted and about to be devoured by a cold-blooded animal.
“Y-You… Do you have any instructions for me?” Song Linlin’s voice trembled slightly, revealing her nervousness.
The woman didn’t answer immediately but looked at her for a few more seconds before retracting her dangerous gaze, which instantly relieved Song Linlin.
Chi Qianning spoke indifferently, “Go over there and search through all the good things left by those two dead men.”
“Yes! Yes, yes!”
Song Linlin immediately agreed. After defeating the villain, of course, you should search the corpses to collect the spoils. As long as the woman wasn’t planning on killing her for the time being, she would comply.
She jogged toward the large depression in the ground. It seemed the remains of the two men were here. Sure enough, as she approached, she could see two twisted male corpses lying at the bottom of the pit.
They died horribly…
Song Linlin stepped into the pit. The men who were high and mighty and spoke arrogantly of killing her just a moment ago were now lying twisted before her. Their dantian areas were empty, with a large bloody hole appearing there.
“Oh my…”
Song Linlin had never seen such a bloody scene and was truly hesitant to start. She fearfully turned to look at Chi Qianning, only to see the woman staring right at her.
It was practically like being supervised.
Left with no choice, Song Linlin withdrew her gaze. She spat softly at the two on the ground, saying, “You did all sorts of evil, and you deserved to die. You can’t blame me for this!”
She squatted down and retrieved the pouches tied to their waists. Song Linlin untied them and looked inside. They contained quite a few things, including some small bottles that seemed to hold elixirs. This must be what she was looking for.
Remembering how actors in TV shows would hide things inside their chest pockets to ensure they didn’t miss anything, Song Linlin searched the chests of both men, and indeed found some small items.
She stood up, intending to return, but Chi Qianning spoke from a distance, “Pick up the sword by your foot.”
Song Linlin obeyed. The sword looked like it was of good quality, and recovering it was necessary. She picked up the long, cold-glowing sword.
The woman in the distance continued to instruct, “Good. Cut off the heads of those two men and string them together for me.”
“Huh???”
Song Linlin held the sword, looking at the woman in surprise, wanting to say:
Do you think these are quail eggs? You can just string them together?
She strongly suspected the woman was only doing this to vent her anger.
