After Transmigrating into a Book, I Had a Flash Marriage with the Beautiful Crazy Villain - Chapter 39.1
As she gazed at the endless stretch of grassland before her, only one thought lingered in Chu Ling’s mind.
Where on earth had she been brought? Was this even the same world she knew?
But such thoughts lasted only a fleeting moment. Soon, she had no time to dwell on them further. The vastness of the prairie inexplicably calmed her heart.
Though it was September, the weather was still hot.
However, the temperature in the city they had arrived in had already begun to drop. Despite the sunshine, the warmth was just right.
In fact, the nights were even slightly chilly. The moment Chu Ling stepped off the plane last night, she had felt a cool breeze.
The daytime temperature was much higher, but still pleasant. As soon as she got out of the car, a refreshing gust of wind greeted her, invigorating her senses.
Beautiful scenery had a way of relaxing people. Chu Ling recalled the travel vlogs she had watched before.
Every time she saw such videos, she would feel an urge to travel, but in the end, it always boiled down to lack of time or sheer laziness.
Now, however, she realized that experiencing it firsthand was far more delightful than watching videos.
The scenes unfolding before her painted an exquisite picture in her mind, stirring an impulse to capture it with a brush.
But even if she just committed it to memory, she would probably remember it for a long time.
“Come over here quickly! It’s time to pick horses!”
Ye Zhiyin’s voice rang out from a distance. She and Qin Xinfan had already dashed ahead, leaving the others far behind.
Chu Ling quickly snapped a couple of photos with her camera before catching up.
The spot where they had disembarked wasn’t the final destination, they still had to walk a bit further to reach the stables.
Fortunately, the weather was fine, and the ground beneath their feet was dry, making the walk easy.
Ye Zhiyin and Qin Xinfan led the way, their voices faintly audible as they chatted. It was unclear what they were discussing, but their high spirits were evident.
In fact, everyone seemed to be in good spirits. The children, especially, were brimming with excitement and had already raced ahead.
Qiu Shuang and Fang Manwen strolled leisurely at the back, unhurried, taking in the scenery as they walked.
When the group finally arrived at the stables, a woman dressed in traditional local attire approached them.
She greeted Ye Zhiyin warmly, “Miss Ye, welcome! The young mistress said I’d be your guide for the rest of the trip. I hope you’ll take care of me.”
Ye Zhiyin smiled and returned the greeting, then introduced her to the others. “This is the manager of the ranch here. You can call her Meiduo.”
Meiduo grinned broadly, revealing a set of pearly white teeth, exuding an energetic and lively aura.
“Hello, everyone! Welcome to our ranch.”
Chu Ling instinctively smiled back and greeted Meiduo politely.
The woman named Meiduo had skin weathered by wind and sun, giving her a rugged yet spirited appearance. She looked to be in her thirties but carried herself like a bold and capable older sister.
“Let’s go pick out some horses first. If any of you have experience, feel free to let me know.”
“The horses here are quite suitable for beginners, so don’t worry. Even if you’ve never ridden before, it’s fine. I’ll have someone teach you the basics first to ensure you have a great experience.”
Chu Ling had never ridden a horse before, so everything felt fresh and exciting to her.
As soon as Meiduo finished speaking, her eyes lit up. “Have you two ridden before?”
Chu Ling turned her head and noticed Meiduo was looking at Song Qingyi and Qin Xinran.
To her surprise, both of them knew how to ride.
Chu Ling was genuinely astonished. “You can actually ride a horse?!”
Song Qingyi raised an eyebrow slightly. “Is it that surprising?”
Chu Ling nodded honestly, she truly hadn’t expected Song Qingyi to be skilled in horseback riding.
Song Qingyi smiled faintly. “Just something I picked up for social occasions. I’m not an expert.”
Chu Ling marveled, “That’s still impressive! You’re good at quite a few things, huh?”
Song Qingyi paused for a moment, the corners of her lips curling up. “It’s alright.”
Chu Ling took her at her word, assuming “alright” meant just that average, the kind of level where one wouldn’t panic while trotting on horseback.
But who could have guessed that Song Qingyi’s “alright” actually meant.
Not only could she ride steadily, but she could even pull off some advanced maneuvers.
Since both women had experience, Meiduo arranged for someone to take them to another stable. Chu Ling didn’t know which horses they chose or what happened next.
All she knew was that by the time she had picked her own horse and led the little white mare out under the staff’s guidance, she saw Song Qingyi and Qin Xinran galloping freely across the grassland.
Meiduo’s eyes sparkled with excitement. “Their riding skills are exceptional! For amateurs to reach this level is truly remarkable.”
Then she turned to the beginners. “Alright, let’s just watch for now. If you want to get to that level, you’ve got a lot of practice ahead. Before you ride freely, we’ll need to go through some training. Make sure to pay attention, everyone!”
The group was buzzing with excitement, though their gazes kept drifting toward the two figures racing in the distance.
Somehow, the two had spontaneously started competing, though it seemed evenly matched.
Chu Ling found herself mesmerized, she had never imagined seeing Song Qingyi in such a dashing light.
At some point, Song Qingyi had changed into a riding outfit. The form-fitting attire accentuated her flawless figure, and the helmet she wore added to her cool, commanding presence.
As she watched, Chu Ling’s breathing grew uneven.
Song Qingyi…
Was just too cool!
Help!
Acting purely on instinct, Chu Ling momentarily forgot about her riding lesson and raised her camera.
Song Qingyi’s figure filled the frame, and Chu Ling’s finger began pressing the shutter repeatedly.
The rapid clicking of the camera filled the air.
Until Qiu Shuang clicked her tongue and leaned over to tease, “Are you taking photos or firing a gun? We don’t do that here, you little rascal. You’re going to wear out the shutter at this rate!”
Chu Ling’s frantic shutter-pausing faltered, a hint of guilt creeping in.
“But don’t you think she looks incredibly cool?”
