After Transmigrating into a Book, I Had a Flash Marriage with the Beautiful Crazy Villain - Chapter 38.2
After what felt like an eternity, the lights finally turned off, and the bed dipped as the other woman climbed in.
Chu Ling’s tightly shut eyelids trembled slightly the moment the weight settled beside her.
She still wasn’t used to the other’s presence, even though they had already slept together once before.
Of course, that was purely in the literal sense, sharing a bed.
But even after just one experience, Chu Ling still found it incredibly hard to adjust. She felt like it was simply impossible to get used to this!
Unable to see anything, Chu Ling didn’t dare open her eyes, pretending she was genuinely asleep.
However, it didn’t take long before Song Qingyi, just like last time, moved closer. Chu Ling shuddered, unable to hold back for long before subtly shifting outward as if unintentionally, trying to turn over.
Yet, with just that simple movement, the previously calm bed suddenly began to tremble.
Chu Ling could no longer pretend to be asleep. She bolted upright, standing on the floor with a horrified expression as she stared at the shaking bed and Song Qingyi, who had sat up.
“What the hell is going on?! It just started moving out of nowhere!”
Her shocked voice echoed through the room. Gradually, Chu Ling’s attention shifted from the trembling bed to Song Qingyi, who was now sitting up.
The room’s lights weren’t completely off, one dim lamp remained lit in the distance. The lighting was faint, but in the haze, she could vaguely make out Song Qingyi’s expression.
Subtle, meaningful, and carrying emotions she couldn’t quite decipher.
Only then did Chu Ling realize Song Qingyi hadn’t been asleep either.
But that wasn’t the important part. The important part was that they had both been exposed.
In the silence, only the bed continued to tremble.
Song Qingyi sat upright on the bed, seemingly unaffected.
Yet the longer Chu Ling looked, the more her face burned, as if she might faint from sheer embarrassment.
After about a minute, Chu Ling forced herself to speak calmly. “You… maybe you should get off first? This bed seems… a little faulty.”
Song Qingyi tilted her head slightly and smiled. “The bed… should be fine. It’s probably you who touched something.”
Chu Ling immediately understood what she meant, her face growing even hotter, while a sense of disbelief settled in her heart.
This room already looked sketchy, but it could get even sketchier?!
Was this kind of mode actually real?!
Inappropriate. So inappropriate!
Her internal monologue at least pulled her slightly out of the suffocating embarrassment.
And because Song Qingyi acted as if nothing was wrong, Chu Ling gradually calmed down.
She stepped forward to inspect the bed and realized that when she had turned over, she had accidentally pressed a button, this damned button had set the bed trembling.
What kind of nonsense was this…
Exhausted, Chu Ling turned off the vibration mode.
For a moment, the room was so quiet that even their breathing was audible.
Chu Ling couldn’t stand the silence. After a brief pause, she dashed back under the covers.
“Goodnight! It’s late, let’s just sleep!”
Running away might be shameful, but it worked.
Song Qingyi must have been embarrassed too, which was why she didn’t say anything.
Because Chu Ling sensed that after she lay down, Song Qingyi slowly did the same.
This time, both of them stayed perfectly still, and nothing unusual happened.
To avoid a repeat of the incident, Chu Ling lay stiffly, not daring to move a muscle. Even when her body grew stiff from staying in one position, she refused to budge.
And then, she fell asleep in that uncomfortable posture.
Sensing that Chu Ling had drifted off, Song Qingyi opened her eyes, her gaze deep and unreadable.
In truth, she was far from as composed as she appeared. The moment the bed had started shaking, Song Qingyi’s pupils had trembled slightly.
Thanks to the dim lighting, Chu Ling hadn’t seemed to notice.
This sudden turn of events startled her too. She had thought tonight would be a sleepless night for both of them, but Chu Ling, carefree as ever, had already fallen asleep.
Song Qingyi’s eyes opened, devoid of any trace of sleep, and her gaze gradually turned dangerous as she looked at Chu Ling.
For a brief moment, Song Qingyi was tempted to “accidentally” wake Chu Ling up better that than suffering alone like this.
But as she watched the peacefully sleeping Chu Ling, the thought slowly faded from her mind.
Chu Ling was sleeping so soundly. She couldn’t bring herself to wake her.
Forget it.
The night passed quickly.
Chu Ling, who had expected to lie awake until dawn, was surprised to find she had actually slept well, though it might just be that she had built up some resistance.
After all, the last time she slept with Song Qingyi, she had suffered from insomnia.
This time, no insomnia, a good sign!
Feeling refreshed, Chu Ling got up first to wash up. As she rose, she glanced at Song Qingyi, who was still deep in sleep.
Chu Ling didn’t think much of it and quietly slipped out of bed. It wasn’t until she had finished freshening up and was nearly ready that she decided to wake Song Qingyi since the latter showed no signs of stirring.
Had the intense workload lately exhausted her?
The thought made Chu Ling hesitate to wake her. It was rare for Song Qingyi to get proper rest, yet she had still come out to play with them…
Song Qingyi must really, really like Ye Zhiyin!
The thought left a sour taste in Chu Ling’s heart.
She glanced at Song Qingyi again but ultimately chose to rouse her.
“Song Qingyi, wake up. It’s already morning.”
No response.
Chu Ling wondered if she was sick and reached out to check, but before her hand could touch Song Qingyi’s forehead, it was caught in a firm grip.
Chu Ling jolted in shock, about to explain, but Song Qingyi, somehow with surprising strength yanked her onto the bed.
A dizzying moment later, Chu Ling realized Song Qingyi was… on top of her, pinning her down.
The position was absolutely disastrous!
Chu Ling froze.
How had things escalated to this point? What was happening?!
She thought Song Qingyi might be doing it on purpose, but the latter didn’t seem fully conscious.
Not only was she holding Chu Ling tightly, but she was also nuzzling against her neck like a clingy kitten.
At the same time, she let out soft, sleepy murmurs, like a cat refusing to get out of bed.
Chu Ling went from stiff shock to disbelief, then to a melting heart, all in less than half a minute.
Song Qingyi, how could she be so contrastingly adorable!
Help, she’s so cute, so unbearably cute!
Before embarrassment could even set in, her heart was already bursting with affection.
Song Qingyi continued nuzzling against her neck, her disheveled hair tickling Chu Ling’s skin, but Chu Ling was too focused on her actions to care.
Her mind was completely occupied by one thought.
Who knew Song Qingyi could be this adorable when half-asleep?!
Who knew she even had the urge to laze in bed? Chu Ling had always assumed Song Qingyi was some kind of self-discipline maniac.
The type who got up exactly on time without delay, planned everything meticulously, and never wasted a second on useless things.
Something like lazing in bed, she never imagined it could happen to Song Qingyi.
Chu Ling stayed perfectly still, letting Song Qingyi cling to her like a spoiled kitten. Unbeknownst to herself, her eyes were filled with indulgence and fondness.
After all, who could resist a cat that knew how to act cute?
But Song Qingyi regained consciousness quickly Chu Ling could tell because she suddenly paused.
For half a minute of silence, the other person seemed to be mentally preparing themselves before calmly getting up from her.
“Good morning.”
That’s what they said.
Chu Ling blinked. “Good morning to you too.”
Song Qingyi nodded and got up to wash up.
If it weren’t for noticing the slight redness at the tips of their ears, Chu Ling might have believed they were as composed as they appeared on the surface.
Even cuter now…
“Help, why is Song Qingyi suddenly so adorable?!”
Chu Ling’s breathing grew heavier, her mind completely occupied by the scene of Song Qingyi acting coquettish with her just moments ago.
Ahhhhhhh.
She couldn’t take it anymore.
Chu Ling abruptly sat up from the bed, silently venting her pent-up emotions, trying to calm her mind that had been utterly overwhelmed by cuteness.
Stay calm! Don’t lose your head!
Chu Ling repeated this to herself over and over in her heart. The method of brainwashing herself actually worked though her emotions were still turbulent, at least she managed to appear composed on the surface.
By the time Song Qingyi finished freshening up and came out, Chu Ling seemed to have returned to normal.
At times like this, mature adults must learn to pretend nothing happened.
Chu Ling considered herself quite mature, so she looked at Song Qingyi with a perfectly neutral expression. “If you’re ready, let’s head down. It’s almost time for our appointment.”
Song Qingyi nodded, her expression equally calm.
Chu Ling sighed inwardly, of course, Song Qingyi was doing the same thing!
And so, the two left the room in a subtly charged atmosphere.
What an odd yet perfect understanding.
As expected, the lobby already had people waiting Qiu Shuang and Fang Manwen.
Chu Ling and Song Qingyi were the second group to come down, followed by Ning Hongmian and her entourage, with Ye Zhiyin and Qin Xinran arriving last.
Though the latter two looked like they hadn’t slept a wink.
Chu Ling choked slightly, not wanting to instantly understand. She averted her gaze, trying to shake off the dirty thoughts in her head.
But those thoughts weren’t so easy to discard, especially when Qiu Shuang sneakily sidled up to gossip with her.
The two exchanged a glance, confirmation that they were both on the same wavelength.
Chu Ling patted her cheeks, physically snapping herself back to reality.
The group set off noisily toward the horse ranch.
The moment they stepped out of the car, Chu Ling was stunned as far as the eye could see was an endless expanse of grassland.
“This is, a horse ranch?”
She realized how ignorant she had been, expecting a small, confined ranch. This was a vast, natural grassland!
Ye Zhiyin chuckled. “It belongs to a friend of mine. Her family has no shortage of grasslands, this one is actually on the smaller side.”
Chu Ling and Qiu Shuang simultaneously gasped in shock.
Terrifying!
Owning multiple grasslands!
Since when was this considered normal human speech?!
Chu Ling’s expression turned dazed.
