After Transmigrating into a Book, I Had a Flash Marriage with the Beautiful Crazy Villain - Chapter 35.1
On the morning of the third day of the Mid-Autumn Festival, everyone packed their things and prepared to return home.
Chu Ling didn’t stay at her parents’ place for long either. The moment the two mothers got home, they were swamped with chores and had no time to pay attention to her. So, Chu Ling packed her bags and went back with Song Qingyi.
The moment they arrived home, before she could even rest, Song Qingyi received a phone call and went out again.
Even though the holiday wasn’t over yet, Song Qingyi had already switched back to work mode. In fact, from that day onward, Chu Ling noticed that she seemed even busier than before.
At least before, she would come home on time in the evenings. But now, she was so busy that sometimes she either returned very late or didn’t come back at all.
Still, Chu Ling was quite content with the situation, mainly because she wasn’t entirely sure how to interact with Song Qingyi anymore.
Although the atmosphere during their picnic had been pleasant overall, Chu Ling couldn’t stop thinking about their argument.
She wasn’t sure if it even counted as an argument, but either way, she felt a little awkward about it.
Now that Song Qingyi was so busy, Chu Ling subconsciously breathed a sigh of relief at least she had some breathing room.
Just a couple of days after the Mid-Autumn Festival, Chu Ling also got busy with work.
She had only submitted one draft before, with several more left. After procrastinating for a few days, one of them was nearing its deadline, so she had to hurry up and finish it.
Thanks to her ample experience, Chu Ling completed the work fairly quickly and got herself another brief respite.
There was still no news about the photography competition, and after submitting her draft, Chu Ling suddenly found herself with a lot of free time.
The only thing was, Song Qingyi remained as busy as ever, barely seen at home. Counting the days, the two of them hadn’t seen each other in about four or five days.
After all, Chu Ling woke up late, while Song Qingyi left early and came back late, they simply never crossed paths.
Chu Ling was stunned.
Had it really been four or five days since they last saw each other? With her mind in turmoil the past few days, she hadn’t even realized it until now.
Was this normal?
Was Song Qingyi also feeling awkward and deliberately avoiding her?
Chu Ling fell into deep thought, feeling conflicted.
An untimely idea popped into her head, should she go find Song Qingyi?
But the moment the thought surfaced, she immediately shoved it out of her mind.
That was too dangerous a thought.
It wasn’t like she was desperate to see Song Qingyi right now. She could just wait until evening.
Besides, she just wanted to make sure Song Qingyi was doing okay, working at such an intense pace had to be exhausting!
It definitely wasn’t because she missed her.
Chu Ling felt like these uncontrollable thoughts of hers were bound to cause trouble sooner or later, so she decided to distract herself by playing around on her phone.
Except her fingers seemed to have a mind of their own. The moment she unlocked her phone, they automatically opened the app and navigated straight to Song Qingyi’s account.
No matter how many times she watched, Song Qingyi still captivated her.
By the time she had rewatched all the videos, Chu Ling slowly snapped out of it, the smile on her lips freezing.
After staring at the account page for two seconds, she solemnly exited and casually returned to the homepage to scroll through other videos.
One after another, the videos barely played for two seconds before she swiped past them. Her eyes might have been watching, but her brain retained none of it.
She didn’t last long before sighing and questioning herself.
“Song Qingyi isn’t even here right now, it’s not like she’ll know. So what’s the harm in watching a little?”
After convincing herself with her own words, Chu Ling felt a surge of boldness and clicked on Song Qingyi’s account, ready to binge-watch the videos five more times!
However, the moment she opened the account, a message from Song Qingyi popped up.
Chu Ling’s hand trembled slightly, and for a second, she thought Song Qingyi had caught her secretly watching the videos.
Shaking her head, she dismissed the absurd thought and opened the chat window with Song Qingyi.
[Song Qingyi: Chu Ling, I need a favor. There’s an important document in my room. Could you bring it to me?]
Chu Ling: “!!!”
What?! Could Song Qingyi read minds? How else could she have sensed Chu Ling’s thoughts from so far away?
Just moments ago, Chu Ling had been thinking about wanting to see Song Qingyi, and now here she was, asking her to deliver a file!
The wild speculation startled Chu Ling, and she glanced around guiltily, as if expecting to find something but there was nothing.
She knew there were no cameras in the room.
So, it must just be a coincidence!
After steadying herself, Chu Ling replied.
[Ling Ling Qi: Sure, I’ll bring it to you. What’s the address?]
[Song Qingyi: [Address]]
The reply came swiftly. Chu Ling patted her cheeks, got up from the sofa, and headed toward Song Qingyi’s room.
As she reached the door, it suddenly hit her, she was about to enter Song Qingyi’s room!
An inexplicable sense of anticipation bubbled up inside her, and her breathing grew heavier.
The two of them usually avoided entering each other’s rooms those were private spaces, and Chu Ling had always been mindful of boundaries. This would be her first time stepping into Song Qingyi’s room.
Even though she was there for a legitimate reason, Chu Ling couldn’t shake the feeling of guilt.
Probably because her thoughts weren’t exactly pure.
Taking a deep breath, she finally pushed the door open.
The first impression of the room was its simplicity and austerity.
Chu Ling was surprised, it looked almost like a showroom. It seemed Song Qingyi really only used it for sleeping.
Unlike her, who had arrived with just a suitcase but had since filled her room with little trinkets, thanks to the spaciousness.
Song Qingyi’s room was different. The original decor had always been somewhat cold, and even after living there for so long, it remained unchanged fitting perfectly with Chu Ling’s impression of her.
Perhaps it was because the room was dominated by muted tones? Most of what she could see were cool colors, from the floor to the walls.
The only splash of brightness came from the bedding.
