After Transmigrating As The Scummy Villain Ex, I Overturned - Chapter 5
Facing the current awkward situation, Su Chuiyun thought she might as well just shoulder a train and flee through the night.
Transmigrating into this book wasn’t exactly a mandatory life choice.
Ming Shu spoke with a faint, knowing smile, “Is this the ‘thinking of me day and night’ you mentioned, A-Yun?”
Su Chuiyun: “…” If I say I missed you, would you even believe me?
Ming Shu’s voice rang in Su Chuiyun’s ear, very gentle, and very much making one want to kiss her.
At this moment, Su Chuiyun thought quite shamelessly: That mouth of Ming Shu’s, the one that always puts people on the spot… is it sweet or sour?
In Ming Shu’s eyes, the blind young girl stared blankly at her, appearing utterly lost and pitiful.
Forget it.
Her little sister had done plenty of things to break her heart in the past. She would let it slide this time.
Ming Shu reflected that all the generosity she possessed in this lifetime had been spent on Su Chuiyun.
Su Chuiyun stuttered as she grabbed Ming Shu’s sleeve, “I can explain.”
Ming Shu placed her down in a hoop-back chair. “Mm, explain then.”
The cold, elegant beauty very disdainfully tossed the Song Xi doll aside, leaving the doll slumped limply on the floor.
Ming Shu rubbed her fingers repeatedly before pulling out a disinfectant wipe to clean away non-existent dust.
“Is it even made of silicone?”
Su Chuiyun: “…” She didn’t even dare to imagine.
A layer of tears immediately welled up in Su Chuiyun’s eyes. “It’s been so rainy and thundery lately, and with no one by my side, I was scared. I just wanted someone to hold me…”
“It must have been my subordinates who misunderstood, they were the ones who made the doll look like Song Xi. After all, I’m just a blind girl. I didn’t know anything.”
The little blind girl’s acting was top-tier, weeping like a pear blossom in the rain, perfectly embodying the vibe of “even a ‘cute top’ is still a top.”
This time, it was Ming Shu’s turn to fall silent.
Ming Shu thought to herself: The current A-Yun is different from before. Was my little sister really such a crybaby back then?
“Miss Su,” a middle-aged woman in an apron walked in from the door. She looked to be in her fifties, a bit stout, with “sanpaku” eyes and drooping eyelids. She was likely Auntie Wang, the old maid who had served in the garden for over ten years. “The bedroom is ready for Miss Su, and the bathtub is filled.”
Su Chuiyun remembered that the original owner had a servant named Auntie Wang who had worked at the house for over a decade.
Auntie Wang looked up at Ming Shu. “Oh, President Ming is here too? What wind blew you our way?”
Though she spoke words of flattery, her eyes were filled with contempt.
Ming Shu didn’t even grant her a glance.
“A-Yun has difficulty moving her legs; she isn’t suited for soaking in a tub. How exactly are you serving her?” Ming Shu said coldly. She touched the teapot. “The Young Mistress returns home and there isn’t even a cup of hot tea?”
Auntie Wang lowered her head and pursed her lips, thinking that Su Chuiyun was just a blind girl who couldn’t even find the teapot, so why bother with tea?
“Go brew a pot,” Ming Shu commanded.
Ming Shu picked Su Chuiyun up. “I’ll help you wash up.”
Pretending to be blind, Su Chuiyun was carried in a princess carry. Her hand accidentally brushed against Ming Shu’s collarbone.
Her ring finger, adorned with a ring, hooked onto Ming Shu’s shoulder strap…
Snap!
The sound was jarringly loud in the quiet hall.
Ming Shu: “.” Fine, I won’t argue with a blind person.
Su Chuiyun hadn’t meant it just now, but she now took a wicked pleasure in seeing a flush creep onto Ming Shu’s face.
“Is the sister wearing… the same one from last time?”
“Last time,” naturally, referred to that time on the hotel bed.
Su Chuiyun seemed genuinely curious about this question, her fingers moving back and forth over the fabric, lingering at the shoulder strap.
During Su Chuiyun’s movements, her forearm and elbow kept bumping into Ming Shu’s modest chest.
Dressed in her suit, Ming Shu’s usually clear mind was buzzing. Her eyes behind the rimless glasses could barely focus.
A little blind girl fumbling around wasn’t usually a big deal, but this wasn’t just any blind girl, it was Ming Shu’s ex-girlfriend.
Ming Shu replied muffledly, “Mm.”
Su Chuiyun was amused and obediently let Ming Shu carry her to the bathroom.
The bathroom had a one way floor to ceiling glass window. Outside, one could see a high platform built of earth, surrounded by many moso bamboos. A thick layer of fallen leaves and dust had accumulated on the ground, and below the platform sat a winding rock pool.
Su Chuiyun’s parents were masters of landscape design, so they had naturally made their own garden quiet and comfortable.
Ming Shu had lived at Su Chuiyun’s house often as a child, so she had naturally absorbed some of that knowledge.
“It’s not ideal to plant flowers near bamboo. Why is there a patch of gardenias?”
Ming Shu leaned over to unbutton Su Chuiyun’s clothes, while the latter retreated chillingly into her embrace.
Su Chuiyun suspected that Auntie Wang had neglected the garden because she was blind. If her parents saw that thick layer of leaves and dirt, they would certainly be furious.
Su Chuiyun said, “You like the scent of gardenias, so I planted them.” In reality, it was just the servants’ negligence letting wild gardenias grow rampant.
Ming Shu paused, her expression softening. “You’re very thoughtful.” She didn’t say whether she believed it or not.
Ming Shu turned on the showerhead. She rolled up her sleeves to test the water temperature, then knelt on the tiled floor to wipe Su Chuiyun’s other leg.
The cold, great beauty was kneeling on the floor. From Su Chuiyun’s perspective, she could see the top of her head.
She could also see her open collar.
Hmm, it could be considered meage, one hand could completely cover it.
Is it because Ming Shu has a habit of working out? People with abdominal muscles usually aren’t very curvy.
Su Chuiyun thought to herself that it was actually quite nice, small and dainty was very cute too.
“How is the water temperature?” Ming Shu tilted her head up to look at Su Chuiyun. “Is it too hot?”
“It’s alright,” Su Chuiyun replied.
“But your face is red.” Ming Shu tested the water temperature again. “Tell me if you’re uncomfortable, don’t just keep it in.”
“Okay.” Su Chuiyun shifted her gaze away guiltily.
The warm water soaked Ming Shu’s white shirt, making it translucent and clingy against her body. The scent of gardenias on her hair became even more intense.
Su Chuiyun’s heart stirred. “The weather forecast said it’s going to rain tonight, with lightning.”
Ming Shu said, “Lift your arms.”
Su Chuiyun was currently undressed, her face flushed red. As a blind person, she shouldn’t have such a strong sense of shame, yet she had to bite her lip as Ming Shu wiped her body.
“Can we stay in the same room tonight, please?”
Su Chuiyun looked at her expectantly with her unfocused, smoky-gray eyes.
Ming Shu seemed truly unaware of how beautiful she was. She tied her long hair behind her head with a rubber band and skillfully continued washing her.
Ming Shu thought bitterly that losing her sight had indeed dealt a massive blow to her little sister.
Ever since Su Chuiyun hit puberty, she had never been this dependent on her again.
“I have things to do tonight, I’m sorry.”
Song Xi stood by the small pond in the bamboo forest, her expression looking quite unpleasant.
Auntie Wang stood on the steps. “Miss Su and President Ming have come out.”
Song Xi was a regular guest at the Su family home and could enter at any time without announcement.
A gentle smile immediately appeared on Song Xi’s face, though her eyes darkened at the mention of “President Ming.”
“An adopted daughter thinks she’s worthy of clinging to Su Chuiyun,” Song Xi sneered. “Does she really think she’ll get much of the inheritance once the elders pass away?”
Auntie Wang originally didn’t have a good impression of Song Xi, but upon hearing the term “adopted daughter,” she immediately agreed.
“Exactly. I heard the Ming family intended for that girl to be a child bride for their son. They really aren’t afraid of becoming a laughingstock.”
Song Xi gave a cold laugh, scanning the garden that looked like a fairyland. She muttered, “The land in this area is worth at least eighty thousand per square meter. I wonder how much this mansion is worth.”
Just as they stepped out of the bathroom, Su Chuiyun saw Song Xi waiting for her in the hall from a distance.
Ming Shu’s previously soft expression turned cold instantly.
“She can just enter your house whenever she wants?”
“…It seems so.”
Ming Shu: “…”
Noticing them coming out, Auntie Wang stopped talking. “I’ll go weed the garden now.”
Despite her words, she walked toward the drawing-room. Her blanket was spread across the sheepskin sofa meant for distinguished guests.
Su Chuiyun called out to Auntie Wang, “What did you just say?”
Auntie Wang froze, looking guilty. “What is the Miss talking about?”
Even Ming Shu was stunned by this.
She had also heard the servants gossiping about her status as an adopted daughter. Being treated as inferior was something she had grown accustomed to over the years.
Ming Shu ran an AI architecture business abroad and earned far more than the Ming family. She hadn’t cared about people’s gossip before, and she cared even less now.
Even though Su Chuiyun was blind, Auntie Wang felt a shudder as if her soul were being stared through. Those unfocused pupils resting on her face made it hard for her to breathe.
As a former “corporate slave,” Su Chuiyun’s heart was as cold as iron: “Gossiping about your employer behind their back is not a virtue of a worker. I will have Sister Chen deduct one-third of your salary this month.”
“I hope you can protect the remaining two-thirds of your money.”
Auntie Wang wanted to say more, but she instinctively shrunk back under the weight of that gaze.
“Yes… President Ming, I’m sorry…”
Ming Shu gave no reaction, and it was hard to tell if she cared or not.
Her gaze toward Su Chuiyun became even more tender.
This was the first time Ming Shu had been defended by someone. It felt good.
Seeing Auntie Wang leave with a pale face, Su Chuiyun let out a cough. Auntie Wang, who had been about to climb onto the sofa to scroll through her phone, immediately packed up her blanket. She muttered “I’ve seen a ghost” under her breath and quickly grabbed a broom to head to the courtyard.
Once Auntie Wang was gone, Su Chuiyun frowned and asked, “What are you doing here?”
Song Xi’s tone was as soft as ever. “Chuiyun just got out of the hospital and has trouble walking. I came to take care of you.”
Su Chuiyun felt Ming Shu’s grip tighten; her fingers were almost sinking into her flesh.
Su Chuiyun leaned dependently against Ming Shu’s shoulder. “I have Sister Ming Shu to take care of me. You don’t need to come.”
The quiet hall was filled only with the rustling of bamboo leaves in the distant wind.
Ming Shu’s face quietly turned red, and she pulled the younger girl even closer.
In her arms, Su Chuiyun looked weak and helpless, but she clearly wanted to snuggle.
The woman in the white dress had come for the money, but seeing the frail Su Chuiyun held in Ming Shu’s arms like a treasure guarded by a dragon, she realized Su Chuiyun was too beautiful, like a piece of fragile glass.
Even the world-weary Song Xi had to admit that Su Chuiyun was stunning.
Beautiful, wealthy, and blind.
Song Xi said sadly, “Do you not like me anymore? We used to…”
Su Chuiyun wondered if her rejection wasn’t obvious enough. She interrupted, “In the past, I was ‘blind’ in my judgment too.” (Note: A pun on her being physically blind now and having poor judgment before.)
Ming Shu: “…”
Song Xi’s face turned green and white with anger. After a long pause, she pointed at the floor and said in desperation, “Then why did you custom-order a life sized doll of me? And it’s even made of silicone!”
Su Chuiyun: “…” Damn it.
Song Xi completely ignored Su Chuiyun’s internal shock. “Even the chest size is exactly the same!”
Ming Shu: “.”
Su Chuiyun: “…” Original owner, you deserve a miserable end.
