- After Transmigrating as a Wealthy Woman: Donβt You Dare Touch My Baby! [Quick Transmigration]
- Chapter 99 - The Creatorβs Pen and the Breaking of the Fourth Wall
“Cub! This is my Mama Phoenix!” Zhu Xingtong led Zhong Ying forward, introducing her to the seniors one by one: Uncle Golden Dragon, Uncle Qilin, and Uncle Black Tortoise.
The four most majestic divine beasts in the entire Heavenly Realm were introduced by the little phoenix as if they were merely family members at a neighborhood gathering. Zhong Ying greeted each of them respectfully.
The Divine Phoenix felt a pang of dissatisfaction; her daughter was still so young, and this sudden “mother-in-law” sentiment made her uneasy. However, Zhong Ying possessed the ‘King of All Beasts’Β buff. With a 200% affinity bonus toward beasts, it was impossible for the Phoenix to truly dislike her.
“Letβs get down to business,” the Phoenix said. “Young friend Zhong, your ‘malice’ is still within you, correct?”
Zhong Ying nodded. “It is.”
“My brothers and I believe you are the key to this battle,” the Phoenix continued. “Iβve heard from my youngest that you progress rapidly. We four will use our combined strength to suppress the Mara and buy you time. Can you break through to Godhood in a short period?”
To any newly ascended cultivator, this would sound less like a request and more like a deliberate impossibility. Thousands had ascended, yet for eons, not a single human had truly attained Godhood.
“Naturally, we will do everything to assist you,” said the Black Tortoise, submerged in the Jing River. He used his serpent tail to lift a glowing stalk of grass. “This Spirit Herb has grown in these waters for ten thousand years. It is yours.”
The Golden Dragon and Qilin followed suit, offering their own treasures. Finally, the Phoenix exhaled a glowing sphere. “This is my Natal Beast Core. Refining it will be far more effective than the spirit stones my daughter gave you.”
If the other gifts were priceless treasures, the Phoenixβs Natal Core was a divine-grade miracle. Zhong Ying frowned, “Seniors, these gifts are too heavy…”
The Phoenix brushed her aside with a wing. “If you can break through before the Mara escapes, I would give you my actual heart, let alone a core. Unfortunately, I must preserve my strength to maintain the seal.”
“Zhong Ying will not disappoint you,” the girl promised. She sat cross-legged and began refining the four treasures. Brilliant light pulsed from her bodyβthe radiance of constant breakthroughs. Yet, the road from an Ascender to a God remained long.
By the banks of the Jing River, many masters from the Immortal and Demon realms watched in awe. They were tiny compared to the Four Gods, and they couldn’t understand why this stranger was being treated as an equal.
“Who is she?” “Is she some legendary hermit?” “Look at her breakthrough speed… sheβs breaking through again? Is she trying to kill us with envy?”
Meanwhile, Mama Phoenix pulled her daughter aside. Seeing the little phoenix had reached her youth phase, she felt as if a lifetime had passed. “I thought youβd be bullied in the lower realm and cry to come home within five days. I was always checking the Tortoise’s shell to see how you were doing.”
The Phoenix sighed. “Youβve grown up. And not just grownβyouβve gone and promised yourself to a human.”
Zhu Xingtongβs face turned bright red. “Mama, I havenβt!”
“Don’t try to hide it from me,” the Phoenix shook her head. “If she weren’t busy meditating, youβd probably be curled up in her lap right now. She hasn’t forced a contract on you, and she treats you with sincerity. I am not worried.”
However, her expression clouded. “It is simply a pity you were born in such troubled times.”
“Mama, is the situation with the Mara that bad?” Xingtong asked.
“I have a premonition,” the Phoenix looked at the sky. “The Mara is about to descend.”
However, the “chance” selected by the Heavens wasn’t actually Zhong Ying. Or rather, the person who decided Zhong Ying would be the “Mara-Slayer” wasn’t the Heavenly Daoβit was Zhu Xingtong, the Creator.
The world was born when she put pen to paper. The timeline shifted because she traveled into it. Therefore, she was the one who had to resolve it.
Suddenly, Zhu Xingtong found herself sitting in a dazed state. She was in her own room. The walls were stark white, her hands rested on the keyboard she had used for two years, and on the monitor… was the document for Quick Transmigration: I Am the Big Heroine.
She was back.
She wasn’t a rich woman or a “Big Boss” here. She was just a slightly ditzy novelist with glasses. In that world, the Mara had suddenly broken the seal. The sky had turned black, and the monster had targeted Zhong Ying with a killing intent that transcended the world.
In that final moment, Zhu Xingtong had shifted into her phoenix form to shield Zhong Ying. Thenβtime stopped. And she woke up here.
“What does this mean?” Xingtong covered her face. “Is it over? The Mara is out, it’s going to kill my cub, and I just… teleported home? What happens to her?!”
She looked at the screen. The document showed the original ending she had written:
…The Mara was defeated. Zhong Ying achieved Godhood and walked into the unknown, leaving the world behind without a single lingering attachment. The End.
But a voice echoed in the room. A small orb of light floated above the keyboardβthe same one she had seen before she first crossed over.
[The timeline has been moved forward. The Great War has begun early. Because Zhong Ying does not yet have God-level powers, the ending will not go as written. The probability of Zhong Ying dying in that world is 100%.]
[Only you can save her.]
[As the Creator, you are the only one who can change this.]
The orb pushed the keyboard toward her hands. It was as if it were saying: You made this world. You know how to fix it.
Zhu Xingtongβs eyes blurred with tears, but she tightened her grip on the desk. “I know!”
No oneβnot even a primordial monsterβwas allowed to touch her cub while she still had a story to write.
