After Transmigrating as a Man-Eater Omega, I Got the Protagonist Shou - Chapter 9
Qi Yan struggled to fall asleep, but it was not a peaceful rest. Instead, he was haunted by nightmares. He dreamed that Qiao Xingyin eventually paid a price for being close to him. The scenes in the dream were far from gentle; they were filled with a level of cruelty and bloodshed absent from his real life. When he woke up, Qi Yan was dazed, drenched in a cold sweat, and his heart was racing. The dream felt like a warning that he could no longer hesitate.
Today, Qiao Xingyin did not wake up late. He appeared in the Class 1 classroom right on time.
“Today’s breakfast is tamagoyaki with cheese. It is my first time making it, so feel free to criticize it as much as you like,” Qiao Xingyin said. His eyes curved into crescents, and his smile was radiant.
The tip of Qi Yan’s pen paused, causing an ink blot to bloom on his paper.
“Did I not tell you to stop bringing things?” Qi Yan’s cold voice interrupted the boy’s enthusiasm. “Take it back.”
He did not look up, but he could imagine Qiao Xingyin freezing in place with an expression of shock. Qi Yan’s jaw tightened as he added heartlessly, “Do not come back again.”
“Why?”
“I have thought about it, and I do not need friends. I am more used to being alone.”
Qiao Xingyin pressed further. “How can anyone not need friends?”
“You cannot possibly understand what kind of person I am in such a short amount of time,” Qi Yan said stiffly. “Being close to me will do you no good.”
No matter how cold Qi Yan’s attitude was, Qiao Xingyin understood the reason for the rejection through that single sentence. This stubborn boy was trying to protect him in his own way. But Qiao Xingyin was never someone who needed protection. He was not angry; instead, his heart felt soft and aching.
“I will emphasize this one more time, Qi Yan. I do not care what others say,” Qiao Xingyin said in a tone one might use to coax a child.
Qi Yan looked up. In Qiao Xingyin’s eyes, there was not a trace of hesitation or retreat. There was only a pure, burning warmth that melted the icy wall Qi Yan had built, inch by inch.
“So, do not think about shaking me off,” Qiao Xingyin said firmly. “I am not leaving.”
He used a popular online phrase to tease him. “Since I have stuck to you, I will stick to you for a lifetime. Even as a ghost, I will haunt you.”
Zhou Li had not been to school for a week. After Qiao Xingyin squeezed liquid soap into his eyes the previous week, he had to go to the hospital to have it treated, resulting in a week-long leave of absence. When he returned to school, he discovered that Qiao Xingyin was quite popular. Among the Alphas he knew, several were interested in Qiao Xingyin.
Although Qiao Xingyin’s warning had indeed intimidated him at the time, that fear had gradually dissipated. The humiliation of being suppressed by an Omega now gnawed at his self-esteem. He was an Alpha; how could he be threatened by an Omega?
Zhou Li decided that before punishing Qiao Xingyin openly, he would start by spreading false rumors on the school forum. He opened the forum interface and let out a contemptuous sneer. Since Qiao Xingyin dared to offend him, he would have to suffer the consequences.
Zhou Li tapped his fingers on the keyboard and posted a new thread. The general idea was that Qiao Xingyin was naturally promiscuous, led a messy private life, and flirted with everyone. He even attached forged chat logs, including screenshots of conversations where Qiao Xingyin allegedly invited Alphas to sleep with him.
The exaggerated title and inflammatory language instantly turned the post into a viral hit. Several of Zhou Li’s lackeys quickly took the lead in the comments section to set the tone.
“That day at the infirmary door, I smelled his pheromones. Do you want the truth? That kind of pheromone is just asking for it.”
“I saw him kissing an Alpha from society in broad daylight. That Alpha had tattoos and looked like someone you should not mess with.”
“He openly spreads his pheromones just to seduce Alphas, does he not? He knows his own pheromones are seductive.”
“Tsk, I heard his family does not even care about him. No wonder he is so loose.”
“Is this for real? I am curious now. What do his pheromones actually smell like? I am begging to know how I can get a whiff.”
“Sigh, never mind the pheromones, I have not even seen the guy yet. What does he actually look like? Is he really that stunning? Can someone post a few photos so we can take a look?”
“[Image.jpg] [Image.jpg] These were taken secretly. Putting his character aside, his looks are truly beyond reproach.”
“It is hard to find an Omega with that pure and seductive look, which is right up my alley. I did not expect him to be this kind of person.”
“Use your brain and think. What kind of pure person could an Omega who looks like that be? He has probably been played with for a long time.”
“Is he not still a minor? I must say, young people these days really play around.”
Zhou Li stared at the constantly refreshing replies on the forum and broke into a grin of satisfaction.
Wen Ke was shaking with rage as he scrolled through the disgusting posts on the forum. He knew Qiao Xingyin was absolutely not that kind of person.
“Those messages are all fake, right?” Wen Ke’s voice was suppressed with anger. “The things they are saying are too horrible. This is basically spreading sexual rumors.”
Looking at Qiao Xingyin’s overly beautiful face, Wen Ke wondered if this was the legendary “if I cannot have you, I will destroy you” scenario.
“It is fake. I still have my first love,” Qiao Xingyin said. “Moreover, I only just secondary differentiated last week.”
Wen Ke sat up straight. “Oh, right! How could I forget that?”
Qiao Xingyin had only just differentiated, so how could he be promiscuous or have used pheromones to seduce many Alphas? It was just that Xu Changqing would not publicly disclose Qiao Xingyin’s reason for taking leave for no reason.
“I want to know who the administrator of the school forum is,” Qiao Xingyin said.
“I am not sure about that,” Wen Ke replied. “It might be the people in the Student Union. Either way, the teachers and leaders do not care. Now they use various codes and abbreviations in their posts that the older generation cannot understand. By the way, the current Vice President of the Student Union is the school beauty, Tang Qi.”
“I see,” Qiao Xingyin said. “Now that you mention it, I think I understand why so many people on the forum are attacking Qi Yan.”
It was now known that Tang Qi found Qi Yan unpleasant, and the school bully, Pei Yi, also did not get along with him. The two groups led by them were likely the two most influential circles in the school. If their influence could be weakened, Qi Yan’s situation might improve. Even though Qiao Xingyin himself was being attacked, his subconscious thought was still about how to change things for Qi Yan.
“Who do you think blackmailed you?” Wen Ke was perplexed. “You have only been transferred for a week and do not really know anyone yet.”
“It is probably not a case of unrequited love,” Wen Ke speculated to himself. “It must be because you are too good-looking and it makes others jealous.”
“I actually have offended one person,” Qiao Xingyin mused.
“Who?” Wen Ke asked in surprise.
“Zhou Li,” Qiao Xingyin said. “On the day I differentiated, he cornered me in the restroom.”
“Damn! He is a total animal!” Wen Ke said indignantly, unable to stop himself from swearing. Remembering Zhou Li’s background, he looked troubled. “However, that might make things difficult to handle.”
“How so?” Qiao Xingyin asked.
“Zhou Li’s father has an unusual background. He is powerful and wealthy. I bet the school leaders have to respect him. The school might not necessarily handle his matters fairly,” Wen Ke said. “Can you guess how he developed such an arrogant personality? I heard he once beat a classmate into a vegetative state, and his father settled it all.”
“If—and I mean if—the result of the handling does not meet your expectations, you must not become depressed or withdrawn because of it.”
“I will not. A person of integrity has nothing to fear,” Qiao Xingyin said. “Why should I be afraid of those rumors?”
“This is so satisfying, Yanxi.”
“Did that transfer student in your class not steal a lot of your spotlight?”
“This is perfect. Now the whole school knows he is an indecent Omega.”
His best friend Jiang Chuyi sent over a link to the forum, and Tao Yanxi let out a cold laugh. His status as the favorite Omega was not that easily shaken. What others did not know was that he was also behind the scenes, fanning the flames.
The Alpha who had praised Qiao Xingyin at the classroom door that day also sent him a message. “I did not expect the transfer student to be that kind of person. I guess my judgment was off.”
“The things said on the forum might not all be true,” Tao Yanxi replied.
“You are so kind, always looking at others in a positive light,” the Alpha said. “But you must protect yourself, or you might easily get hurt.”
In Class 1 of Grade 11, the discussions regarding Qiao Xingyin were becoming uncontrollable.
“Have you all seen the posts on the forum?”
“I saw them. Actually, I predicted this long ago. How could someone who associates with Qi Yan be a good person?”
“Exactly. Staying with someone as dirty as Qi Yan, that Omega must be just as dirty. To put it bluntly, he is just asking for it.”
These words fell into Qi Yan’s ears without warning. Especially those last few words caused his dark eyes, which had been calm a moment ago, to be overwhelmed by a terrifying, gloomy rage that made one’s spine turn cold.
Qi Yan stared intensely at the boy, as if he wanted to pierce through his soul. The boy was so intimidated by Qi Yan’s gaze that he took half a step back, his throat tightening. “Qi… Qi Yan, am I not speaking the truth? Why are you looking at me like that?”
Before he could finish, Qi Yan had already grabbed him by the collar, his fingers tightening. In the next second, the boy was slammed violently onto a desk. The desk shook, and pencil cases and books scattered across the floor with a crash. The boy’s abdomen hit the edge of the desk, causing him to let out a muffled groan of pain.
Before he could recover, Qi Yan’s right hand had already gripped the back of his neck, his knuckles pressing against the most fragile part of his cervical vertebrae. The force was so great that the sound of bones shifting could be heard.
“Ah!” The boy cried out in pain, struggling to lift his head, but Qi Yan’s fingers were like iron pincers, pinning him firmly to the desk. Even breathing was difficult.
“Does it hurt?” Qi Yan’s voice was icy, yet the strength in his hand did not diminish in the slightest. His thumb even maliciously ground against the area of the boy’s gland at the back of his neck.
The boy’s fingers convulsed as he gripped the edge of the desk, cold sweat soaking his back. “Let… let go.”
Qi Yan leaned down, his breath brushing against the boy’s ear, his voice as sharp as ice. “Were you not quite a talker just now? What is the matter? Can you not even say a complete sentence now?”
The boy’s pupils contracted violently. He realized too late that Qi Yan truly intended to destroy his gland.
