After Transmigrating as a Man-Eater Omega, I Got the Protagonist Shou - Chapter 10
“Qi Yan, have you lost your mind?! Have you forgotten your identity and your status?!”
“Let go of me! We are in the classroom!”
“What are all of you standing there for?! Help me get him!”
Little did they know that at this moment, Qi Yan’s aura was as low and dangerous as a Shura from the dark night. No one dared to make a move. They were reminded once again of his father, the psychiatric patient who committed manslaughter. If Qi Yan were to commit an extreme act right now, none of them wanted to be the victim.
“Have you done few things in this classroom yourselves?” Qi Yan’s gaze was freezing. Each word felt like a chisel striking their hearts.
He had been blackmailed and slandered on the forum for years and had never cared, yet he could not stand to see Qiao Xingyin insulted. A towering rage had swept over him instantly; he could not tolerate it for even a single second.
Just as the male student felt his gland was about to be ruined and was nearly fainting from the pain, someone shouted from the back door of the classroom, “The class teacher is here!”
Li Ren, the teacher of Class 1, looked at the scene in shock. “Qi Yan, what are you doing? Stop at once!”
Qi Yan was called to the office by Li Ren. Li Ren was a female teacher in her early forties. She wore her hair in a short, ear-length bob tucked behind her ears. Her face had sharp angles with high cheekbones, and she wore a dark gray professional suit.
She scrutinized Qi Yan with a sharp gaze. “Did you hit them?”
When Qiao Xingyin entered the office to find Xu Changqing, he saw Qi Yan standing with a straight back, appearing neither humble nor arrogant. Qi Yan’s voice was hoarse, and there was not a ripple of emotion in his dark eyes. “Yes, I hit them.”
Li Ren reprimanded him sternly, “You know the school rules prohibit fighting, right?! Even if your grades are good, an exception cannot be made for you.”
Hearing Li Ren’s words, Qiao Xingyin was so angry that he felt cold and shaky. He turned on his heel and walked straight to Li Ren’s desk. He addressed the Class 1 teacher, whom he had never met before. “Teacher, why is it that when Qi Yan is normally bullied, you do not discipline those who bully him, yet the moment he takes action, you insist on a full investigation? What exactly is your selfish motive?”
Li Ren was known as the “Exterminator Nun.” Every student was terrified of her. When had she ever been treated this way? She looked at Qiao Xingyin, who looked like a model student, in disbelief. “Which class are you from? What is your name? Please watch your language!”
To be a teacher—too many teachers are no longer worthy of the title. Qiao Xingyin would only show respect to a mentor he truly honored. Facing Li Ren, he felt no fear. “Am I wrong?”
He refused to back down, his words calm and sharp. “Even if Qi Yan was wrong to use his fists, were they right to insult him verbally?”
“Last week, when it rained so heavily, should they not be punished for damaging Qi Yan’s umbrella?”
“Besides that, did you ever care when Qi Yan’s notebooks were soiled with insulting words written on them?”
“Did you ever ask about the time Qi Yan was intentionally hit with a basketball during Physical Education class?”
“Regarding every single incident, why have you remained blind to them?”
“Qi Yan is the top student of Class 1 and the top of the entire grade. He must have brought you quite a few bonuses, right?”
“I forgot to answer your question. I am Qiao Xingyin from Class 8, Grade 10.”
“I can take responsibility for what I have said. Can you take responsibility for your actions?”
Li Ren and Qiao Xingyin parted on bad terms. Qiao Xingyin was eventually pulled away by Xu Changqing. He had no intention of admitting fault for his behavior.
“Teacher Xu, I actually came to the office to find you. I want to request something,” Qiao Xingyin said. “I am being intentionally slandered on the campus forum. Can I apply to have the posts deleted?”
“The campus forum?” Xu Changqing was still having a headache over Qiao Xingyin’s attitude toward Li Ren. Li Ren had declared, “Please manage your student properly,” making him lose face. “But Qiao Xingyin, you must understand that your constitution is indeed special and easily attracts attention. You must be more cautious in your words and deeds.”
Qiao Xingyin narrowed his eyes. “Do you think this is my problem?”
“That is not what I meant. But the reality is that Omegas are naturally prone to being discussed in a group, especially since your pheromones are so unique—a one-in-a-thousand probability.” Xu Changqing paused, choosing his words carefully. “Perhaps you should keep a lower profile. For example, have less private contact with Alphas. Also, you must never repeat the attitude you just showed that teacher; it is too easy to make enemies for yourself.”
Qiao Xingyin sneered. “Teacher Xu, do you believe that as long as I hide myself, they will let me go?”
“Someone has already tried that—not talking back, not arguing, not even lifting their head to look at them. The result was that they only became more aggressive.”
“Now you want me to continue enduring it. Are you saying that if one day I am forcibly marked, the school will only say—”
“‘What do you expect? He is an Omega’?”
The office fell into a dead silence. Qiao Xingyin stated his demand directly: “I want the school to help me handle this matter and force those spreaders of rumors to make a public apology to me.”
Xu Changqing rubbed his temples in frustration. “Qiao Xingyin, I am not asking you to just endure it. However, school disciplinary action requires evidence, and the anonymity of the forum makes tracking very difficult.”
This was something Qiao Xingyin had not expected. “So even the administrators cannot see who the posters are on the anonymous forum?”
Xu Changqing explained, “It was visible in the past, but it caused a serious conflict between students, so that mechanism was later canceled.”
Qiao Xingyin thought to himself that the current student conflicts were already quite serious. “I will find the evidence.” He felt he could always find a way. “Before then, I hope you will pressure the Student Union to delete all the slanderous posts.”
Pressuring the Student Union was not difficult. Xu Changqing did not refuse again. “Fine.”
Qiao Xingyin added, “Not just mine. I also hope the posts slandering and mocking other students will be handled as well.”
Xu Changqing was surprised. “Other students?”
Qiao Xingyin asked, “You have probably never been on the forum, have you?”
As Wen Ke had said, they used various acronyms and codes. The older generation would not understand them at a glance. Qiao Xingyin took the initiative to explain the meanings of several acronyms and the names they referred to.
“This ‘LJY’ is Liu Jiayi, the girl who took a leave of absence last semester due to depression.”
Xu Changqing’s expression became grave. Originally, he thought he would simply report Qiao Xingyin’s situation to the higher-ups. But now, after seeing the content of these posts, those cold combinations of letters suddenly took on concrete forms. Those vicious jokes became living injuries.
Xu Changqing felt that this was indeed a very serious matter. He once thought they were just nicknames and jokes between students; the online comments he had never cared about had now turned into heavy shackles that made it hard for him to breathe.
“I will report this situation to the school authorities,” Xu Changqing promised solemnly.
Qiao Xingyin bowed. “Thank you, Teacher Xu.”
The matter regarding the forum was quickly communicated to the Student Union. Tang Qi, the school beauty, sat on the conference table with her legs crossed. She played with a silver lighter, the flame dancing at her fingertips.
“What is this? Someone reported us?” She narrowed her eyes, her sweet voice laced with coldness. “The transfer student, right?”
Zheng Ruijie, an Alpha from the Sports Department, let out a sneer. “Let us teach him how to behave.”
Zhou Li leaned against the wall with a gloomy face. “He is very cunning. All of you should be careful.”
Zheng Ruijie did not care. “If you could not handle him, does that mean we cannot handle him either?”
“He is just an Omega. What is there to fear?” Another Alpha nodded. “Use pheromones to pressure him and make him kneel and beg for it.”
“Follow us.” Tang Qi snapped the lighter shut with a click and glanced at Zhou Li. “You should come along and learn something.”
“Qiao Xingyin.”
Qiao Xingyin looked up at the sound. He saw a boy he did not recognize standing before him. His school uniform collar was crooked, and a forced friendliness hung on the corners of his mouth.
“The teacher told you to go to the equipment room now to collect the sports gear needed for PE class. You are a transfer student, so you are the only one left who has not collected it. Everyone else already has.”
Inviting him to the equipment room alone? If he believed such a clumsy excuse, he would be truly naive. However, that did not mean he would not go. Qiao Xingyin closed his notebook, the corners of his lips curling up slightly. “Sure.”
Zhou Li’s lackey hid at the corner of the corridor, laughing triumphantly. “Look, he took the bait. He is as stupid as they come.”
The door to the equipment room was half-open. The corridor light cast a long, thin streak on the floor. Qiao Xingyin stood at the door, his finger lightly pressing against the door panel. “Is anyone there?”
“The door is open. Just come in,” a muffled response came from inside.
Qiao Xingyin pushed the door and entered. The light inside the equipment room was dim. Only a few strands of pale light filtered through a small, high window. Dust floated in the beams of light. Basketballs and volleyballs were piled messily in the corner, and gymnastics mats were stacked crookedly, emitting a scent of old rubber.
The moment he stepped into the room, the door lock clicked shut. Qiao Xingyin smelled at least three types of Alpha pheromones. Pungent whiskey, musky animal scent, and a nauseating smell of rotting oak.
The school strictly forbade Alphas from releasing pheromones in public. Yet, they were doing so to him without any restraint. The three types of pheromones intertwined like an invisible net, filling the entire space. The air became thick. The back of Qiao Xingyin’s neck began to feel hot, and the edges of his suppression patch were soaked with sweat.
A contemptuous laugh came from the shadows. Zhou Li stepped out from behind an equipment rack. His uniform collar was wide open, revealing the unhealed bruises on his collarbone. “You actually came. You idiot.”
Qiao Xingyin stirred his teeth and forced his voice to remain steady. “The forum posts—you were the ones who posted them, right?”
“So what if we were?” Zhou Li looked Qiao Xingyin over like a captured prey. “Since you offended me, you will just have to endure this. Did you really think you could teach me a lesson?”
“Does your family have a background? No. Since you do not, what can the school do to me?”
The corners of Qiao Xingyin’s lips pulled into a smile devoid of warmth. “It must be hard work for all of you to pretend to be human.”
Seeing that Qiao Xingyin was not intimidated at all, Zhou Li became exasperated. “What do you mean?”
Qiao Xingyin endured the dizziness brought by the pheromones and remained exceptionally calm. “I mean you are not human.”
Another Alpha approached from the side, releasing an even stronger scent. “Your endurance is not bad, my little Omega.” He intended to lift Qiao Xingyin’s chin with his finger, but Qiao Xingyin turned his head to avoid it.
“So what if your teeth are sharp and your tongue is quick? Let us see how much longer you can hold out.”
“If you do not want to die of misery here today, then kneel and beg me. Call me ‘Brother’ a few times. If you sound good, I might consider letting you feel comfortable.”
“A wise man submits to circumstances. Even if you are not very smart, you should understand this logic.”
In the office, Xu Changqing’s hand tightened around his phone until his knuckles turned white. The conversation coming through the receiver made his pupils contract. To get the evidence he mentioned, Qiao Xingyin actually took such a great risk! Those students actually said such shameless and filthy things!
“Where are you?” Xu Changqing asked urgently.
Qiao Xingyin did not reveal the fact that the phone in his pocket was on a call, so he did not answer him directly. Instead, he said hoarsely to Zhou Li, “You think that by locking me in the equipment room…”
He used this to convey the information to Xu Changqing. Xu Changqing stood up abruptly, his chair making a piercing screech against the floor. “I am coming right now!”
Qi Yan was holding a stack of notebooks at the neighboring desk. Seeing Xu Changqing’s pale face, he frowned and asked, “What happened?”
Xu Changqing did not have time to explain much. “Qiao Xingyin was locked in the equipment room by several Alphas.”
Qi Yan’s body stiffened slightly. He immediately put down the notebooks. “I will go too.”
Xu Changqing was surprised. “You…”
Qi Yan’s eyes were very dark. “I am his friend.”
Xu Changqing was stunned. Qiao Xingyin had only been transferred for less than two weeks, yet someone was saying so solemnly that they were his friend. Qi Yan’s gaze made it clear he was willing to go through fire and water for him.
Xu Changqing nodded. “Fine. If you can run fast, go there first. I am afraid something will happen if we delay…”
A heavy sense of guilt surged in his heart. It was his insistence that Qiao Xingyin provide evidence. As a teacher, he had failed his duty to protect his student and had not taken the responsibility to investigate the matter himself. If an irreversible consequence occurred today, he would regret it for the rest of his life.
As soon as the words left his mouth, Qi Yan took off with his long legs, running toward the equipment room.
The iron door of the equipment room made a loud “Boom!” The metal parts on the basketball rack buzzed and vibrated. Qi Yan stood at the door against the light, his figure tall and upright. He had no pheromones to release, yet he made all the Alphas instinctively retreat. His voice was as cold as an ice stream in deep winter. “The teacher is right behind me.”
Zhou Li was startled, but then he forced himself to maintain his bravado. What could a teacher do to him?
Qiao Xingyin reminded him coldly, “Let me go immediately.”
Zhou Li’s canine teeth bit through the inner wall of his mouth, and the taste of rust spread on his tongue. He was unwilling to let him go just like that, especially since he might face punishment. Just then, a spark of inspiration hit Zhou Li, and he came up with a plan to distort the truth. “It was you who intentionally lured us here! You also spread Omega pheromones to seduce us into heat!”
“Do you think I would be so careless when I am out?” Qiao Xingyin took the opportunity to break free from the restraint. He shook his phone; the call duration was still ticking on the screen. “Stop twisting the facts. Everything you said has been recorded. I only made you think I would be easily fooled so that you would let your guard down, right?”
Only then did Zhou Li realize he had been tricked. “Qiao Xingyin, you—!”
Qiao Xingyin’s gaze, however, was no longer on him at all. “Qi Yan, I helped you once, and now you have come to help me too? This is a bit pathetic; I am sorry you had to see this.”
Qi Yan’s jaw was clenched tightly, and his eyes were dark as ink. He took off his jacket to wrap it around Qiao Xingyin, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists. Qiao Xingyin tugged at his sleeve. “Qi Yan, do not be angry. They are not worth it.”
Qi Yan said coldly, “The one I am angry at is you.”
Qiao Xingyin was slightly stunned. Qi Yan stared at him, his voice very low but every word clear. “Why did you make such a dangerous plan? Why could you not discuss it with me?”
“You said that we are friends.”
