- Chapter 24 - Morbid Possessiveness
Ling Luo felt her body being dragged toward him. His hands were ice-cold; in her daze, she felt as if she were being entwined by a sinister, freezing serpent.
The system spoke up anxiously: [Coax him! What if this method actually works?]
Ling Luo froze, not daring to move an inch. Coax him? My foot! Her soul had nearly left her body from fright.
“I can tell that you hate me, Di Yu. We are not right for each other. You should just let me go. A breakup would be better for both of us,” Ling Luo said. Her mind was filled with nothing but the word “breakup.”
Di Yu lifted her leg. His gaze was cold and sticky as he stared intently at her face. He leaned in and bit down hard on her fair, slender ankle.
“Damn it!” Ling Luo gasped in pain. She kicked him squarely in the face. “Get away from me!”
Di Yu, having been kicked, actually let out an excited laugh. “Heh!”
A bone-chilling shiver crawled up her spine. Ling Luo’s nerves were pulled taut, and her fear was written all over her face. Di Yu leaned in close. His open collar revealed he was wearing nothing underneath, leaving the view entirely unobstructed. Despite the dangerous aura radiating from him, he seemed to be silently tempting her, hinting for her to lay hands on him.
His devastatingly handsome face magnified before her. She was soon enveloped in the scent of cedarwood, her very soul forced to bear his fragrance, much like a male beast marking its territory and its mate. He pressed down on her head as a hot, overbearing kiss descended. It was impossible to escape his control.
Ling Luo stared wide-eyed at the white ceiling. Her lips felt numb, and the base of her tongue was too paralyzed to move. Fresh air could not reach her lungs, and with her brain deprived of oxygen, her entire world began to spin. The woman who had been resisting him went limp, obediently allowing him to lick and suckle.
As long as she stays here and goes nowhere, the protagonist halo of Lin Zhouci will not be able to bewitch her, he thought. Once she “sobered up,” he would return her freedom.
“Luo Luo,” his voice was hoarse and incredibly sexy.
The woman’s pupils were dilated. She stared blankly at the ceiling, unable to hear his voice. Di Yu curled his lips into a smile and placed the leg marked with his teeth onto his own body. “You are only allowed to like me.”
Ling Luo frowned slightly. “There is really nothing between him and me. Can you stop being so jealous?”
Di Yu bit her chin and murmured softly, “You have always been my firmest choice. What about me? In your eyes, what am I? Something that can be thrown away at any moment?”
“Talk to me properly, do not… mmm…” Before Ling Luo could divert his attention, he rendered her incapable of forming a complete sentence, leaving her with only broken gasps.
The man’s black bathrobe was tossed carelessly onto the floor. Under the lights, his skin glowed with a cold luster.
“Luo Luo, I cannot tolerate you liking anyone else. I cannot tolerate you touching anyone else. And I certainly cannot tolerate you leaving me.”
“Mmm…” Ling Luo’s consciousness began to fade.
“If you ever mention breaking up again, or if you even look at another man, there will be more ‘punishments’ like today. If you make the same mistake repeatedly, I will imprison you for all eternity.”
“…”
Ling Luo stopped moving and stifled her voice. Di Yu’s morbid possessiveness was terrifying. When it came to imprisonment, he was truly capable of it.
Damn that Di Yu, she thought. He had clearly promised not to do things she hated and said he respected her. Respect, my foot!
Her chin was lifted, and Ling Luo snapped back to reality. She saw her own reflection in the man’s eyes; her expression was charming and seductive.
“Do not get distracted. Look at me,” he said, his eyes filled with obsession.
Ling Luo took the initiative to hug him, scratching his back several times with force. Her intention was to retaliate and vent her frustration. To her surprise, the man only became more excited.
She fainted several times; Ling Luo lost count. She felt as though she had been hit by a car; every part of her body ached. It was miserable. It felt like being trapped in a steam room with heat pressing in from all sides. At the same time, she felt like she was being squeezed by a giant python, unable to move.
Ling Luo opened her eyes in discomfort, and the first thing she saw was the man’s muscular chest.
“…”
Di Yu was using both his arms and legs to wrap around her like a body pillow. No wonder she felt so uncomfortable. Ling Luo silently rolled her eyes. Now that the night had passed, Di Yu’s anger should have dissipated.
“Di Yu, are you awake?” The moment she spoke, she realized her voice had turned hoarse.
The arm around her waist immediately tightened, as if he wanted to rub her into his very bones. As he pulled her closer, Ling Luo cried out in pain.
“Hiss! It hurts!”
Di Yu slowly woke up. Without opening his eyes, he instinctively rubbed his face against hers. “Luo Luo, do not leave me.”
“I feel very unwell. Can you let go of me first?” Ling Luo no longer had the strength to be angry.
Di Yu’s eyelashes fluttered as he opened his eyes, revealing a gaze as gentle as water, filled with a smile. “Where does it hurt? Let me see.”
“Go get me a glass of water,” Ling Luo said as she closed her eyes.
Di Yu kissed her forehead and carefully got out of bed. He tucked her in, ensuring not a single inch of skin was exposed before leaving the room. Ling Luo buried her head in the quilt.
The shackles on her hands and feet had been removed by Di Yu at some point, and her limbs were free. Di Yu is a complete and utter pervert, she thought. It is over. The male lead is definitely going to be crushed by him. In the ending of the original novel, Di Yu’s fate was a pathetic exile abroad, never to return. Ling Luo sighed; this path of pursuit was becoming increasingly bumpy.
Di Yu returned with a pitcher of water and placed it on the bedside table. Seeing only her dark hair peeking out from the bed, he reached out and pulled back the quilt, revealing an exquisite face. Her large, watery eyes glared at him with displeasure.
Di Yu’s breath hitched. He curled the corners of his mouth. “Do you want me to feed you?”
“I will drink it myself.”
Ling Luo struggled to sit up, taking several sharp breaths. “Hiss!” With a resentful look, she said dissatisfiedly, “In the future, no matter what happens, we must sit down and talk calmly. You cannot imprison me like this again. Your actions make me feel like a toy for you to manipulate. I lose all my agency as an individual. It makes me feel unworthy of your respect.”
Di Yu lowered his eyelashes, which cast a shadow over his eyes, making it impossible to read his emotions. He was truly unpredictable.
Ling Luo looked at the water in his hand. “Give me the water. I will drink it myself.”
Di Yu pursed his lips, unsure of what to say. He could only obediently follow her command. Ling Luo drank a glass of water. Her throat felt better, but she was still very thirsty.
“I am speaking to you calmly now. Are you planning to play mute to avoid the problem? I cannot tolerate a future partner with such an unpredictable temperament, nor can I entrust my life to a man with latent violence.” Her tone was calm, as if she had made up her mind to leave him.
Panic flared in Di Yu’s heart, and he grabbed her hand. “I am just too afraid of losing you.”
