- Chapter 25 - Yet You Let Me Listen to You and Liang Wenle
Ye Lin did not dare to open his mouth to answer. He struggled to lean toward the place where his phone was positioned, but no matter how he tried, he could not reach it.
Sheng Shao intentionally pinned him down, refusing to give him the slightest chance to move forward while he continued to urge him in a low voice.
On the other end of the line, Gu Jiazhi had finally seen Ye Lin’s apology message and wanted to talk things through. Even though he received no immediate answer, he did not hang up right away; instead, he continued to press for a response.
“Ye Lin!” Gu Jiazhi’s speech was rapid, clearly showing his impatience, yet he maintained the connection. He truly wanted to know what Ye Lin meant by apologizing to him while simultaneously showing off his affection with Liang Wenle on social media.
“Mm,” Ye Lin’s fingers suddenly tightened. A single sound escaped him, but he quickly bit his lip, not daring to make another noise. His lips were flushed, and his cheeks were burning as if roasted by a furnace; his complexion was no longer pale.
Seeing that he could still endure, Sheng Shao increased the level of his malice. He leaned in and reminded him in a low voice, “If you do not reply, I will reply for you.”
Ye Lin’s eyes widened suddenly. He wished he could tear Sheng Shao into pieces, but he could only bite his lip desperately and remain silent.
In truth, Sheng Shao would not actually speak in this situation. Doing so would directly reveal his identity, which would be far too boring. The real fun lay in hiding, staying out of sight, and watching Gu Jiazhi’s growing suspicion.
Seeing that coercion was not working, Sheng Shao switched to a gentler tactic to lower Ye Lin’s guard. “Fine, you reply first. I promise not to move. After all, we still have to cooperate.”
Hearing this, Ye Lin felt he could finally breathe a sigh of relief. He opened his mouth slightly to explain, “I, I am busy for the moment. I will talk to you later.”
Before he could finish, he let out a sudden, sharp cry, unable to restrain himself.
Sheng Shao was far too despicable. He was like a venomous snake hidden in the grass, slithering and watching his prey, specifically choosing the most vulnerable moment to strike. The phone was close enough to transmit the sound clearly.
Gu Jiazhi sensed something was wrong and quickly asked, “What is actually happening to you?”
Ye Lin tried to close his mouth, but he was blocked. He could only make muffled, sobbing sounds. He even tasted something salty and unpleasant, but he had no way to spit it out.
“Ye Lin!” “Ye Lin, what are you doing with Liang Wenle!”
Gu Jiazhi had a faint intuition of what was happening, but he refused to give up. He asked repeatedly, wanting to hear Ye Lin say it himself.
Sheng Shao was extremely satisfied with Gu Jiazhi’s reaction: the urgency, the suspicion, and the humiliated rage. Being powerless across a screen, pacing around in a panic; it was truly delightful.
“Answer me!” “No, do not!” Ye Lin could no longer hold it back and burst into tears. He reached out toward the phone, wanting to turn off the screen.
Sheng Shao did allow him to move successfully, enabling him to touch the edge of the phone. However, just as he was about to slide the screen, he was dragged back.
“You bastard!” Ye Lin wanted to curse, but his lips were blocked. His entire body was shaking like a sieve.
“Ye Lin, how could you do this to me! You apologize to me online, but now you let me listen to you and Liang Wenle.” Gu Jiazhi’s eyes turned red. He was trembling with rage, and his voice was choking up.
This was simply too humiliating. Ye Lin clearly knew he cared and knew he would call after seeing the message, yet he chose this specific time. It must be intentional. Liang Wenle and Ye Lin were likely treating him as a joke, specifically using him to enhance their own relationship.
Though Gu Jiazhi was in a temperature-controlled villa, he felt as if ice water had been poured over his head. He was cold all over, like a pathetic, drenched dog.
Sheng Shao also thought he was quite laughable. If Gu Jiazhi could not stand it, he should have hung up the phone, but he insisted on listening and continuing to torture himself.
It was almost time. Ye Lin was shaking violently in his arms. Sheng Shao intentionally brought the phone very close and caused more trouble.
In the next moment, Gu Jiazhi heard a sound. His cheeks instantly flushed red. He could not even voice a curse; his feet felt rooted to the spot, and his hand refused to put the phone down.
Like a drowning person finally pulled ashore, Ye Lin felt as if he were about to faint. He could only lean against Sheng Shao, slowly calming his breathing.
Sheng Shao turned off the phone, savoring the feeling. It was like hearing a beautiful song whose melody lingered in the mind long after it ended.
Ye Lin was the first to snap back to reality. Seeing Sheng Shao’s satisfied expression, he slapped him with all his might.
Slap!
With a crisp sound, half of Sheng Shao’s face swelled up. Sheng Shao realized he had been carried away by his triumph; his negligence had allowed Ye Lin to land the blow. He quickly caught Ye Lin’s hands and picked him up.
“You bastard, let go of me!”
Ye Lin’s feet kicked out constantly, trying to strike him, but he was completely suspended in the air with no chance of success. Instead, because his legs were pale and slender like newly sprouted willow branches swaying in the wind, they were excessively attractive.
Sheng Shao lowered his head to kiss him, proceeding slowly. The legs instantly tightened and moved no more.
Upon entering the bathroom, Ye Lin was placed into warm water surrounded by white mist. The hot water splashed up due to his struggling, soaking Sheng Shao completely.
Sheng Shao said, “Why be angry? Did you not enjoy it yourself?”
Ye Lin grew even angrier, punching and kicking Sheng Shao while creating more splashes. Though Sheng Shao stood outside the tub, he was drenched, and several more palm prints appeared on his face. If he had not stepped back, he likely would have been beaten senseless by Ye Lin.
He had never seen anyone as violent and unrefined as Ye Lin. It was as if a wild boar from a village had run into the city, covered in hard bristles and attacking anyone in sight.
Ye Lin noticed that Sheng Shao had quite a few injuries and looked disheveled, while he himself was unharmed. He finally stopped and shouted to drive him away.
“Get out! If you keep standing there, I will hit you with something!” “Then you can try washing yourself.”
Sheng Shao stared at him, already imagining his helpless state.
“I will wash myself then! Do you think I do not know how?”
A moment later, Ye Lin ran into trouble. This situation was too difficult to handle. Usually, Gu Jiazhi used protection or handled it personally; how would Ye Lin know what to do now?
After struggling for five minutes, Ye Lin looked at Sheng Shao and demanded righteously, “Help me!”
Sheng Shao did not expose him. He knelt down gently and meticulously, and soon everything was clean. He then wrapped Ye Lin in a soft blanket, gently dried him, blew his hair dry, changed his clothes, and carried him to the sofa.
As soon as Ye Lin sat down, he saw Sheng Shao preparing to enter the kitchen. He picked up a vase and threw it at Sheng Shao’s back. Sheng Shao dodged just in time and pulled the kitchen door shut, blocking out the interference to focus on cooking.
Ye Lin wanted to leave the apartment, but the thought of being toyed with by Sheng Shao without getting his revenge held him back. The more he thought, the more unwilling he became. He had to stay and retaliate once before leaving.
Soon, a delicious aroma wafted from the kitchen. This bastard actually had good culinary skills!
Ye Lin picked up his phone and opened the chat with Gu Jiazhi, intending to send a message to explain. But as soon as he sent one, he saw a red exclamation mark.
Ah, Gu Jiazhi actually deleted me?
Ye Lin tried to call, but he was blocked. No way! Just because he heard those sounds, he could not stand it and wanted to cut ties? But they had done that kind of thing before; what was the big deal?
Ye Lin did not understand. Although he had been embarrassed just now, it was not worth cutting ties over. At the very least, Gu Jiazhi should listen to his explanation. He could not help but grumble about Gu Jiazhi while simultaneously wondering how to return to their former friendly relationship.
Although Sheng Shao’s technique was more skilled, his personality was rotten; he deserved to die. Only Gu Jiazhi was his most compatible, rare friend. But returning to how things were with Gu Jiazhi would likely be difficult; he had to find a way.
Sheng Shao came out with the food. Seeing Ye Lin’s gloomy face, he said while setting the table, “Gu Jiazhi deleted you, and Liang Wenle is terrible, so you are very distressed right now.”
Ye Lin wanted to slam the table to intimidate him but feared damaging the food. It looked delicious, and it would be a pity to waste it. Fine, he would ignore this lunatic.
Ye Lin picked up his chopsticks and took a bite. It was a delicacy unlike anything he had ever tasted. Other chefs usually made food that tasted much the same based on seasonings. However, Sheng Shao was able to bring out the original flavor of the ingredients; every dish tasted unique and fresh. Ye Lin focused on eating, wishing he could have several more bowls.
Sheng Shao watched him eat like a little pig and could not help but laugh. He suggested leisurely, “So, why not just break up with Gu Jiazhi? In the future, come to me to solve your needs. It would also be convenient for our cooperation.”
Ye Lin looked up at Sheng Shao and emphasized seriously, “You talk as if Gu Jiazhi is my lover. First of all, we are good friends. Secondly, you are nowhere near as good as him. Do not even think about it.”
Sheng Shao repeated the words “good friends.” First, he showed a look of pity, and then he laughed ruthlessly. “Let us call him your friend then. But he is ignoring you now, so you still have to find me.”
Ye Lin gave him a look of disdain. “I would sooner go find a dog than a cold blooded bastard like you!”
Sheng Shao tapped the edge of his bowl with his chopsticks. “Oh? So you do not mind the food made by a bastard?”
Ye Lin only then realized he had finished all the dishes. He quickly put down his chopsticks. This was ridiculous; how could a rotten person like Sheng Shao have such good cooking skills?
Sheng Shao stood up to clear the dishes and took them to the kitchen to wash. “I am going to the new office area of Fanxing later to check on things. Do you want to go?”
This freak, clearly a pampered rich kid who could hire someone to cook and clean, yet he insisted on doing it himself? Ye Lin did not answer; he was just cursing him under his breath.
However, when Sheng Shao finished washing the dishes and was about to head out, Ye Lin followed him. They maintained their distance throughout the journey.
Fanxing was in a nearby office building. They had rented two large rooms, purchased a few computers, and simply decorated the place to turn it into an office. Although the conditions were still modest, it was much better than being squeezed into a residential area.
Liu Wen had recruited two reliable new people and introduced the company’s future plans to Ye Lin. Ye Lin found that his plans aligned with the development of the company in the novel; he would definitely make a fortune. The five million yuan invested now could turn into thirty million in three months and one billion in three years. He could not help but feel a restless desire.
Liu Wen trusted Sheng Shao deeply, and Sheng Shao could not be kicked out for now. Those who achieve great things must be patient. He would wait for Fanxing to grow and then find an opportunity to drive a wedge between Liu Wen and Sheng Shao.
Ye Lin made his decision secretly. On the surface, he pretended to have a good relationship with Sheng Shao and encouraged Liu Wen to keep working hard. Sheng Shao saw that he was harboring ill intentions but did not care. Who would care if a pet cat plotted against its master? He actually looked down on Ye Lin; his interest was just a whim because he found it fun.
Liu Wen was very excited mentioning the online traffic. “I feel the numbers are rising steadily. We are getting closer to generating revenue.”
Ye Lin nodded. Hearing his phone ring, he picked it up; it was Liang Wenle. He walked out to the hallway to answer.
“Ye Lin, why are you not at home? Where did you go?” “Wenle, I am coming back right now! Wait for me!”
Ye Lin quickly ran downstairs, hopped on his motorcycle, and rushed toward the villa.
