After the Simp Omega Comes to His Senses, the Alpha Panics - Chapter 1
A cold wind blew past the white curtains, carrying a faint hint of epiphyllum scent in the air.
Wen Yuluo’s eyes were bright. Having just been bullied by the alpha in front of him, there wasn’t a single unblemished spot on his body. His slender neck was covered in bite marks and the traces of lovemaking. Pulling the quilt up to shield himself, he said, “Qi You, I like you.”
This was the 16,801st time he had spoken those words.
Qi You’s eyelashes trembled. He stubbed out the cigarette in his hand, didn’t even spare Wen Yuluo a glance, pulled back the cover to lie down, and said lazily, “Got it.”
Got it?
Wen Yuluo sat up in shock. The movement was too sudden, pulling at a certain sore spot and making him hiss softly.
What did “got it” mean? In the past, no matter how many times he confessed, the response was always an indifferent glance or “I don’t like you.” There was never a single time it was “got it.”
Wen Yuluo smiled faintly, two shallow dimples appearing at the corners of his mouth. “The answer is different this time? What does ‘got it’ mean?”
Qi You had already closed his eyes. His nose bridge was high, casting a shadow under the light. “You’ve said it too many times.”
Indeed, it had been many times. For four years, he had said it almost every day.
Looking at Qi You’s completely indifferent expression, Wen Yuluo paused, feeling for the very first time that he was a bit pathetic.
Having confessed so many times, as long as Qi You’s reply wasn’t “I don’t like you,” he would feel thoroughly content.
“Qi You, you’ve slept with me for four years. Even if you raised a dog, you’d develop some attachment, right? Even just a little bit.”
Before Wen Yuluo could finish, Qi You’s cold gaze swept over him. “Wen Yuluo. I’m going on a business trip tomorrow, with a flight at six. Can you be quiet for a moment?”
Wen Yuluo’s face sank. Having been rejected so many times, why did it still hurt like this?
Qi You closed his eyes again, his three-dimensional, handsome facial features presented right before him. He was too good-looking, so good-looking that even after four years, he could still be left dazed and staring.
Yet, Wen Yuluo didn’t want to look anymore. A thought popped into his head: if he left, if he walked away from Qi You, would Qi You feel sad? Would he feel reluctant to let him go?
The moment that thought formed, Wen Yuluo gave a self-deprecating curl of his lips.
As if. How could Qi You possibly feel sad just because he left?
Over the past four years, if it weren’t for Qi You’s rut periods or physiological needs, the number of times he came looking for Wen Yuluo could be counted on one hand.
In Qi You’s eyes, he was nothing more than a convenient bed partner.
Wen Yuluo put on his bathrobe and walked toward the door.
He deliberately stepped heavily, attempting to signal to the closed-eyed Qi You that he was leaving, that he was walking away.
However, Qi You merely frowned, annoyed by the noise he was making, and couldn’t even be bothered to open his eyelids.
Wen Yuluo touched the doorknob, and seeing that Qi You still didn’t intend to ask where he was going, he let out a heavy sigh, foolishly wondering what on earth he was expecting.
“You have to wake up early tomorrow, and I’m afraid I’ll wake you, so I’m going to sleep in the guest room.”
Qi You’s response was no response at all. Wen Yuluo knew he wasn’t asleep; he simply couldn’t be bothered to ask him to stay, or to utter a single nice word.
Turning off the light, Wen Yuluo moved to the adjacent room.
As he lay down on the cold guest bed, he instantly regretted it.
What was he doing? Who was he trying to spite?
Qi You had finally come over, finally giving them a chance to sleep in the same bed, yet he himself didn’t cherish it and ran off to sleep in the guest room instead?
Wen Yuluo gave himself a fierce slap on the cheek, muttering under his breath, “Wen Yuluo, you really are a damn fool.”
Not knowing how long he lay there, Wen Yuluo eventually fell asleep, though his eyes remained filled with tears, dampening the pillow.
The next day, he was woken up by the sound of the master bedroom door closing. Checking the time, it was only five o’clock.
Qi You was off on his business trip, and there was no telling how long it would take this time.
When would he see him next? A week? Or a month?
At that thought, Wen Yuluo couldn’t fall back asleep. Tugging casually at his bathrobe and ignoring the soreness in his waist, he rushed out of the guest room. “Qi You!”
Both the secretary and Qi You on the stairs paused. The secretary, Wang Ran, was a male beta; he couldn’t smell the sweet omega pheromones in the air, but any adult seeing the marks all over Wen Yuluo would understand how intense things had gotten last night.
Receiving a glare from Qi You, Wang Ran quickly averted his gaze. “President Qi, I’ll wait for you in the car.”
Qi You grunted an acknowledgment, and Wang Ran carried his luggage away. Not until he heard the villa door close did Qi You ask, “What are you doing at the crack of dawn?”
Wen Yuluo didn’t even know what was wrong with him; he simply didn’t want Qi You to leave.
He stammered in place for a long time before blurting out, “You woke me up.”
Qi You’s eyelid twitched. “Pull in your pheromones.”
The scent of epiphyllum drifted from the back of Wen Yuluo’s neck. Warned, Wen Yuluo not only refused to rein it in, but instead lunged forward and hugged Qi You.
“You aren’t allowed to look at other omegas while you’re out, you aren’t allowed to accept overtures from omegas, you aren’t allowed.”
Qi You pushed him away, a deep impatience flickering in his profound eyes. “Wen Yuluo, know your place. What qualifications do you have to say things like this? Don’t make people unhappy early in the morning.”
He took a step, about to descend the stairs, when Wen Yuluo shamelessly grabbed his arm again.
“Qi You, how many days are you gone this time?”
Qi You said, “Uncertain. I’ll be back once things are settled.”
Since he said it was uncertain, it would probably take half a month.
The mere thought that he might not see Qi You for half a month made Wen Yuluo’s heart ache so much it trembled. He pleaded, “I, my rut is coming soon. I won’t get through it without your pheromones. Can you leave some pheromones for me?”
Seeing that Qi You had no reaction, Wen Yuluo added humbly, “I am begging you.”
Just as Qi You was about to speak, Wang Ran’s voice echoed from the doorway, “President Qi, we’re going to miss the flight.”
Qi You pulled his arm away. “Use suppressants if you’re in heat. I don’t have time.”
He left without a shred of mercy, leaving Wen Yuluo with nothing more than his retreating back.
The sky at five o’clock had not yet fully brightened, and the massive villa was plunged into gloom once the door closed.
Wen Yuluo stood on the stairs in his thin bathrobe for a long time, simply staring blankly at the door through which Qi You had departed.
Feeling a bit cold, he shivered, then lowered his head in dejection and walked back to the master bedroom.
The master bedroom had already been cleaned spotless. Wen Yuluo grabbed the bedsheet and pressed his nose against it, attempting to sniff out even the faintest trace of mint.
But there was nothing, not a single trace.
Qi You hadn’t left him even a shred of pheromones, just like his love.
For six years, not a single fraction of an ounce had ever been given to Wen Yuluo.
Wen Yuluo gave up. He let go of the sheet and went to the guest room to pick up his phone, which had been ringing incessantly.
“Hello? Senior brother, what’s wrong, calling so early?”
Yi An’s voice sounded somewhat anxious. “Yuluo, as soon as you’re awake, come to the research institute right away. Your experiment, something’s gone wrong.”
Wen Yuluo’s eyes widened in shock as he hurried off to wash up and get dressed. “Senior brother, don’t panic. I’m on my way right now.”
