- Chapter 41 - Stupid Alpha, Let Go of Me!
Yan Run finally shut her mouth and glanced at Yu Wenxi.
She’d always had an allergic, almost nauseated reaction to the pheromones of other Omegas. Physical contact with them was unpleasant at best. But Yu Wenxi’s pheromones were different—no revulsion, only an inexplicable pull that left her addicted.
That was why, after losing her memory, she’d chosen to abstain—intimacy had always brought her discomfort because of those bad reactions.
But Yu Wenxi was the exception.
Yan Run’s cheeks turned pink. “Actually… we’ve been doing it every day.”
The room went silent for a moment. Yu Wenxi’s heart skipped a beat, and she shot Yan Run a glare. We agreed we didn’t want kids, you stupid Alpha.
Back in the bedroom, Yu Wenxi urged Yan Run to shower. These days, she’d been careful not to let the bandage on Yan Run’s head get wet, even supporting her from behind to keep her from being splashed.
But apart from that, their interactions had been proper—no intimacy.
Yan Run, however, was nearly at her limit.
Now that her head had improved a little, her courage had grown considerably.
She wheedled, asking Yu Wenxi to bathe with her.
At first, Yu Wenxi hesitated, worried things might get out of hand halfway through.
But Yan Run knew her too well—if she acted spoiled, Yu Wenxi wouldn’t refuse.
“Jiejie, bathe with me… my head hurts,” Yan Run pouted, trying to look cute.
Yu Wenxi had the sudden urge to smack her. First, she was only agreeing because bathing together wasn’t actually a problem. Second, Yan Run’s face was not suited for acting cutesy—if she didn’t like her so much, she’d be rolling up her sleeves to scold her instead.
“…Fine.”
In the end, Yu Wenxi agreed.
Yan Run hugged her. “I really like you, Jiejie.”
Yu Wenxi frowned, afraid she’d pull at the wound. “Put me down, careful with your injury.”
Yan Run obeyed, setting her down before heading into the bathroom to get things ready—moving nothing like an injured patient.
Yu Wenxi crossed her arms and shook her head helplessly.
“Jiejie, hurry! The water’s ready.”
Yu Wenxi gave a quiet “Mm.” It wasn’t their first time bathing together—they were familiar enough—but she was still wondering: should Yan Run sit on her lap, or should she sit on Yan Run’s?
Looking at the bandage wrapped around Yan Run’s head, she decided it was safest to sit face-to-face.
Yan Run, already having gotten her way, didn’t dare push further and agreed.
Once they sat down, she deliberately played with those pale, delicate feet.
Yu Wenxi’s legs were long, slender, and smooth to the touch.
When she lifted her foot, water slid down in elegant lines—
Yan Run chuckled, wrapping her arms around Yu Wenxi’s calf. “See? I knew holding you felt best.”
Yu Wenxi drew her leg back and pressed her foot against Yan Run’s chest.
Yan Run let out a muffled sound and stilled.
Yu Wenxi asked, “Since you’ve remembered everything, you should recall what happened after you lost your memory, right?”
Yan Run nodded, puzzled by the sudden question. Though she’d caused plenty of embarrassing incidents back then, she wouldn’t dare take risks now—afraid she’d lose her memory again.
Forgetting her lover had been her biggest regret.
Yu Wenxi continued, “Back then, you kept telling me you didn’t want kids. But now, you went along with Grandma’s words. Baby, what exactly do you want?”
Yan Run flinched, glancing at the snow-white foot still resting on her chest. She forced a smile. “Well, back then I didn’t like you yet. Of course I didn’t want kids without someone I liked. Now I do like you—obviously I’d want them with you.”
Yu Wenxi’s lips curved faintly. “Sorry, but I don’t want kids now.”
What?
Yan Run’s eyes widened. She shook her head. “Don’t be like that, Jiejie… But even if you don’t want kids, it’s fine. Pregnancy is tough on Omegas anyway.”
She hadn’t wanted children for herself—it was just to quiet the online gossip and meet He Yunzhi’s expectations. But if it meant protecting Yu Wenxi’s health, she’d rather be called barren forever.
Yu Wenxi shook her head. She’d only been fishing for a little sweet coaxing, not expecting Yan Run to truly put her health first.
This fool. Of course she wanted children—Grandma was getting old, and she wanted to make her happy with a great-grandchild.
“Silly girl, don’t say that… I do want kids.” Yu Wenxi muttered.
“Then what are we waiting for!” Yan Run’s eyes lit up instantly. “We can start right now.”
Yu Wenxi smiled. “No. You’re still injured—what if you get hurt again?”
Yan Run had no intention of listening. She caught Yu Wenxi’s leg, sliding her hand upward, and upward, until—
“Jiejie… it’s been so long,” she murmured, her gaze dripping with heat.
Yu Wenxi didn’t react.
Water rippled between them, and she frowned. “Yan Run, can you not?”
“Making Grandma happy—how is that ‘idle’?” Yan Run arched a brow, increasing her pace.
Yu Wenxi tried to keep calm, but the Alpha’s skill was intact—if not better than before—and her teeth clenched. Why is she good at everything?!
“…Enough.” Yu Wenxi’s cool voice cut through. “The bathroom’s too slippery—it’s unsafe. We’ll talk on the bed.”
Yan Run’s eyes gleamed. “As you command!”
Yu Wenxi pressed her down, grabbing a towel to dry her off. Even now, she refused to let Yan Run risk her wound.
Yan Run felt a rush of heat in her chest and hurried her toward the bed.
Yu Wenxi sat down, gazing at her head. “You shouldn’t lie down.”
“What?” Yan Run blinked.
Yu Wenxi sighed. The more heated Yan Run became, the more restrained she felt—making the Alpha itch with impatience.
“Do I need to repeat myself?”
“I said, you shouldn’t lie on the bed. You’ll strain your head wound. I’ll lie down instead.” Yu Wenxi said.
Yan Run’s face flushed. “Oh… oh.”
Her excitement drowned out the lingering ache in her head.
Yu Wenxi lay back lightly, both of them already bare, and watched Yan Run lean over to meet her gaze.
“Jiejie… before, we only did temporary marking. To get pregnant, it has to be a permanent mark, right?” Yan Run suddenly asked.
Yu Wenxi hummed in confirmation—only for Yan Run to follow with, “So… how do you do a permanent mark?”
Yu Wenxi: “…”
This idiot.
Yu Wenxi turned her head with a huff. “And that’s why I said we shouldn’t do this now. You don’t even know how.”
Yan Run grinned. If she didn’t know, couldn’t she just look it up?
Amnesia might have made her forget some things—but she was still smart enough.
Yu Wenxi watched as she pulled out her phone to search.
A few minutes later, Yan Run gasped. “Qin Zishu has this many?!”
Yu Wenxi: “…”
Yu Wenxi knew exactly what she was looking at and held out her hand. “What are you reading? If you don’t look, I will.”
Yan Run jumped, shutting her phone and handing it over. “I’m done.”
Yu Wenxi couldn’t hold back her laugh—she adored that pitiful look on her. Resting her chin in her palm, she teased, “You can’t even do that. No wonder people talk about you.”
Yan Run blushed. She was a pure, well-brought-up girl—how could she know such things?
Still, not to be outdone, she suddenly wrapped her arms around the warm, soft Omega beneath her.
Permanent marking could wait—she was more than capable with temporary ones.
Yu Wenxi feigned a struggle, frowning. “Stupid Alpha, let go of me!”
Yan Run only held her tighter, burying her face in her neck. Inhaling the faint scent of jasmine tea, her body went warm and slack.
“I won’t. You can curse me all you want—I’m not letting go. Jiejie, you’re mine, and I’m yours. For life.”
Yu Wenxi didn’t resist too hard. Hearing the Alpha’s unusually soft tone, her heart inevitably softened.
Yan Run leaned down, brushing her lips against hers.
At first, the kiss was light. But with their pheromones mingling thick in the air, it deepened—becoming a fierce, unyielding claim.
In the middle of the night, Yu Wenxi awoke in Yan Run’s arms, hearing the soft rhythm of her breathing.
Her heart melted all over again.
She really, truly loved her.
—
In the morning, Yan Run was the first to wake.
She realized that last night, she had been the one holding Yu Wenxi. The moment she stirred, that familiar, faintly sweet milky scent reached her nose—one she couldn’t help but nuzzle closer to. But as soon as she opened her eyes, she was greeted by the sight of Yu Wenxi’s fair, smooth…
Yan Run: “??”
It wasn’t her first time seeing it, but the more she looked, the more she liked what she saw. The problem was, Yu Wenxi was hugging her so tightly that her entire body was pressed against that particular spot.
Unless she woke Yu Wenxi, there was no way to move without disturbing her. And seeing how peacefully her beloved was sleeping, how could Yan Run bear to wake her?
But then… how was she supposed to get out of this?
Unable to fall back asleep, she reluctantly began to pry Yu Wenxi’s arms open and slowly inched her way downward. The journey was… full of temptations, but Yan Run wasn’t some lecher—she could hold herself back.
Finally, she slipped free from Yu Wenxi’s embrace. Just as she was about to feel triumphant, Yu Wenxi’s eyes snapped open.
“Baby, where are you going?”
With a pitiful look, Yan Run mumbled, “Bathroom. I’m about to burst.”
Yu Wenxi yawned lazily. “Hurry back.”
The moment she was done, Yan Run climbed back into bed, shivering from the morning chill, and wrapped her arms tightly around Yu Wenxi. Resting against Yan Run’s chest, eyes still closed, Yu Wenxi murmured, “Did I wear you out last night?”
Grinning smugly, Yan Run planted a kiss on her. “How could I be tired? I was worried you’d be the one exhausted, jie.”
Yu Wenxi chuckled softly. Truthfully, last night had been exhausting—her whole body still felt sore and weak.
After Yan Run’s hands had been wandering for a while, Yu Wenxi realized the Alpha was clearly not the least bit tired. She slapped Yan Run’s hand away. “Behave.”
Yan Run only laughed, then suddenly flipped over, pinning Yu Wenxi beneath her.
Yu Wenxi wasn’t even fully awake yet, and now she was being dragged into another round… She was irritated, but helpless, letting the Alpha have her way.
It wasn’t until they shifted into a certain position that Yu Wenxi snapped fully awake. Yan Run was behind her.
“Jie, you’re awake again?” Yan Run asked cheerfully.
Yu Wenxi sighed helplessly. “What is this position?”
“Oh,” Yan Run replied casually, “one we didn’t try last night.”
Yu Wenxi narrowed her eyes. “Don’t tell me Qin Zishu taught you this?”
Yan Run snorted. “As if. She and I would never work.”
Yu Wenxi: “…”
In the end, Yu Wenxi had the Alpha pinned down, rendering her completely immobile. She even playfully squeezed Yan Run’s neck.
Yan Run actually looked delighted, her mind filled with all sorts of wicked thoughts, no longer even aware of the dull ache in her head.
When Yu Wenxi noticed the wound on her head, she paused for a moment before pulling away—she couldn’t let Yan Run get too roughed up in bed. With that in mind, she yanked Yan Run upright.
Meanwhile, Yan Run was still blissfully lost in the thought that her jie was “SM-ing” her.
