- Chapter 31 - Baby, You’re Amazing
“But… you… I…”
She hesitated, yet under the combined assault of the aphrodisiac and another Alpha’s pheromones, Yu Wenxi could hardly hold on. Either she would faint from the unbearable pain, or she would be left with a lingering aftereffect—collapsing again the moment she smelled an Alpha’s pheromones.
But… did she still hold a place for Ah Yue in her heart?
Would Yan Run be betraying Ah Yue by doing this?
Unless Yu Wenxi no longer liked Ah Yue—but she couldn’t be sure of that.
“Baby…” Yu Wenxi suddenly called out, her voice directed at Yan Run. The thick haze of Omega pheromones all but smothered her.
Her moans shifted into pained whimpers, and she looked at Yan Run with pitiful eyes, almost pleading. Just before she lost consciousness, she caught the faint scent of oranges after rain.
Perhaps it was the irresistible pull of the jasmine tea–scented pheromones, but Yan Run could no longer restrain herself. She released her own pheromones in full, climbed onto the bed, and quickly undid the five buttons Meng Qieyi hadn’t managed to open—along with everything beneath.
Yu Wenxi stared up at this Alpha, and in that instant, all the long-suppressed instincts surged to the surface.
Yan Run pulled her into a fierce embrace, biting at her lips without mercy.
Gone was the gentleness of before; now Yan Run’s touch was wild and impatient—something that made Yu Wenxi feel both fear and delight, but far more of the latter. She clung to Yan Run with all her strength, and soon they collapsed together, one on top of the other. Yu Wenxi blindly reached up to touch her face, murmuring,
“Baby, whatever you want, take it. Whatever I have, I’ll give you.”
Yan Run’s throat bobbed. The flush in Yu Wenxi’s cheeks deepened, and the heat in her own body flared uncontrollably.
She kissed her again.
Hearing the Omega’s breathless, uneven sounds, Yan Run felt a rush of satisfaction. Though she had no formal skill to speak of, instinct took over—one move after another—until the Omega’s voice broke again and again, filling the room with the mingled scent of their pheromones.
Yan Run seemed to revel in it. When they finally reached the first peak, she lay sprawled over Yu Wenxi, peppering her with kisses. Yu Wenxi let out a soft whimper, her body gradually relaxing.
Yan Run slid her hands around Yu Wenxi’s waist, trailing her lips along her skin.
Between AO, there was one more crucial step—marking.
Yan Run didn’t know how to do a permanent mark, but she vaguely recalled that a temporary mark was simple: just bite down on the Omega’s gland.
Through the haze, she saw the gland at the back of Yu Wenxi’s neck—swollen, flushed, and releasing an intoxicating jasmine fragrance that all but demanded an Alpha’s claim.
Heat pooled in her throat as she stared at it, transfixed.
She had never tasted a gland before. She didn’t know what it would be like.
After a moment of hesitation, the pheromones’ pull overpowered her reason. It was only a temporary mark—it’s not like it would make her pregnant.
Her hands roamed again, and soon, round two began.
This time, Yan Run was even more forceful, wanting to merge with Yu Wenxi completely—body and soul. She loved this, she realized. For all her pretensions, she was no different from anyone else in this world.
She rolled the defenseless Yu Wenxi beneath her, eyes fixed on that delicate, exposed neck where the gland stood out against her pale skin. The rich pheromone scent was spilling from there, and it smelled… delicious.
Yan Run stared for a long while before she finally couldn’t resist. She lowered her head and bit down.
Yu Wenxi gasped, her body going numb, a current of heat sparking and racing through her limbs, scattering her thoughts.
It wasn’t her first time experiencing this—but it was Yan Run’s first since losing her memory.
Yan Run tasted again and again, until Yu Wenxi clung to her tightly and whispered,
“Baby, you’re amazing.”
After a string of shuddering cries, Yan Run felt her strength ebbing. She collapsed beside Yu Wenxi and drifted into sleep.
In her dreams, she seemed to recall the very first time with Yu Wenxi—on her own bed, fumbling through inexperience, relying either on trial and error or on Yu Wenxi’s guidance. It had been clumsy, but she remembered the look of pleasure and joy on Yu Wenxi’s face.
Later, she had learned. And she had promised herself she would make Yu Wenxi happy.
A beam of sunlight pierced through the window. Yan Run startled awake.
Beside her, Yu Wenxi was propped up on one arm, smiling with breathtaking beauty as she looked at her.
Remembering last night, Yan Run shot upright.
“I-I-I-I… I only did it to save you—sorry!”
The ever-gentlemanly Yan Run ducked her head at once, seeking the Omega’s forgiveness.
Yu Wenxi clicked her tongue. “Why are you apologizing to me?”
Yan Run bit her lip. “Last night, we…”
Yu Wenxi’s eyes narrowed. “You still don’t remember anything?”
Yan Run froze, then shook her head.
Yu Wenxi’s expression was cool—then she smiled again. “I know you did it to save me. I’m not blaming you… it’s just—” She pointed to her neck, where several hickeys bloomed.
Then she pointed to her arms, her thighs—more marks there, too.
Yu Wenxi blinked. “Yan Run, I didn’t know you were so rough.”
Yan Run’s face went scarlet. She stammered a few “I, I, I…” before falling silent.
The worst part? She remembered everything perfectly.
The sounds Yu Wenxi made. Her scent. The way she called her baby and straddled her, urging her on harder and harder.
The more she remembered, the more mortified she felt. She was a brute, a shameless brute!
Yan Run, you promised yourself you’d be restrained! You can’t keep doing this! You’re supposed to be a cool, aloof Alpha—you’re not like the others.
“I’m going to—” Yan Run blurted, “—the bathroom!”
She fled to Meng Qieyi’s room, only to find her still lying there. Thankfully, there were security cameras in the living room; she called the police, who took Meng Qieyi away.
She told no one in the house the real reason.
To protect Yu Wenxi’s dignity, she even warned the directors to keep it quiet.
When Yan Huainan heard what happened, he rushed over in a panic to the Love Cottage, apologizing to Yu Wenxi while discussing with Yan Run what to do about Meng Qieyi.
“She’s already been taken to the station,” Yan Run said.
Yan Huainan exhaled in relief. “Good. Wenxi, I’m so sorry for the trouble. I had no idea Meng Qieyi could be such a beast!”
Yu Wenxi smiled. “It’s fine, Uncle. She didn’t get the chance to do anything to me—Yan Yan took care of it.”
Hearing that Meng Qieyi had drugged Yu Wenxi, Yan Huainan gave his daughter a strange look.
Yan Run coughed lightly as Yan Huainan said, “Well… actually, we were hoping you two might give us a grandchild someday.”
Yan Run’s smile stiffened.
“I don’t know what rumors you’ve heard about my daughter, but…”
Yu Wenxi’s lips curved, mischief glinting in her eyes. “Uncle, Yan Yan is amazing. You have to give her confidence.”
Amazing? Yan Run instantly thought of last night, her cheeks burning hotter.
Yan Huainan mistook it for shyness and chuckled. “Then I’m reassured. By the way, your mother and I set up a place for you in the East District—it’s fully renovated. You two can live there from now on. Go take a look when you have time.”
Yu Wenxi nodded. “Our marital home, then?”
“Of course. It’s your home—as wives.” Yan Huainan said.
Yan Run arched a brow. Why do the parents seem to be moving faster than we are?
Should she still be thinking about divorce? Maybe she could put it off for five years… after all, a Jinjiang contract never runs shorter than that.
After Yan Huainan left, Yu Wenxi asked, “Want to go see the place?”
“Mm,” Yan Run agreed. “Let’s take a look.”
Yu Wenxi smiled, sunlight spilling across her face, gilding her eyes.
Yan Run couldn’t shake the memory of last night. Even on the way to see the house, Yu Wenxi insisted on driving. “You were exhausted last night,” she said sweetly. “It was hard work. I’ll reward you later.”
Yan Run nearly choked.
【Exhausted last night? Were they trying for a baby? No wonder the livestream cut off so early!】
【Tsk tsk, Wenxi, you’re no longer my untouchable ice goddess.】
The villa in the East District turned out to be small but exquisite, in an upscale community. A river ran nearby, with trees and open skies. Just outside were snack streets and supermarkets; transportation was convenient.
True to Yu Qingyue’s taste, the interior matched Yu Wenxi’s style perfectly. Wenxi seemed pleased and asked, “What do you think?”
Yan Run shrugged. “Not bad.”
“It’s spacious enough that even with a child, it wouldn’t feel crowded.”
Yan Run hummed… then froze. A child?
In the master bedroom, it seemed Luo Wenting had guessed they’d arrive early; she’d had it cleaned and the bed freshly made.
Yu Wenxi chuckled. “Mom’s really thoughtful. Why don’t we just stay here tonight?”
Thinking of last night and her guilt over Wenxi being drugged, Yan Run couldn’t bring herself to refuse and nodded.
Then a pair of soft, delicate hands settled on her shoulders.
She looked up at the Omega before her—light makeup, peach blossom eyes shimmering, the faint curve of her lips exuding a fragile, dangerous allure.
“Why so quiet?” Yu Wenxi asked softly. “Don’t you like it?”
Yan Run shook her head with a smile. “No… I like it. I like it very much.”
“Then why do you look so startled?” Wenxi’s lips pursed, feigning hurt.
A cold beauty acting spoiled—who could resist? Certainly not Yan Run. Yet even knowing she liked Yu Wenxi, there was still Ah Yue… and wasn’t this betraying her?
Maybe Wenxi no longer cared for Ah Yue, but still—poor Ah Yue.
Yan Run’s cheeks flushed. “As long as you’re here, I’m happy.”
It was simple truth, but it landed like a love confession. Wenxi’s heart swelled, and she kissed her hard.
“Baby, I’m happy when you’re here too.”
