- Chapter 29 - Baby, I Think My Heat Is Coming
Meng Qieyi had always been spoiled and proud—naturally, she wouldn’t just sit back and watch the person she liked publicly show affection with that so-called scumbag Alpha, Yan Run. Her reputation was already in shambles, with netizens calling her a homewrecker for supposedly intruding on someone else’s relationship.
But who would’ve thought? These same people once believed she was the perfect match for Yu Wenxi!
How could they all flip-flop like this?!
Fuming, Meng Qieyi ended up at a bar, downing drink after drink. Her cheeks were flushed red, yet the bitterness in her heart refused to ease. The more she thought about the growing intimacy between Yan Run and Yu Wenxi, the harder it became to let go of her lingering feelings for Yu Wenxi.
Her friend, who had been watching her spiral with concern, finally spoke up with a frown:
“Qieyi, stop drinking.”
Meng Qieyi’s eyes were bloodshot. She forced out her words slowly:
“I’m in pain. Wenxi and I… we were together once. How could just one damn ball make her fall for that idiot Yan Run?!”
Her friend was shocked. “Wait, I thought it was Yan Run who was chasing Yu Wenxi?”
Buzzed and loosened by alcohol, Meng Qieyi finally stopped hiding things.
“Yeah, it was Yan Run pursuing her. But someone like Yu Wenxi—if she doesn’t like someone, she wouldn’t give in no matter how long they chase. Maybe she just… liked her for a moment.”
She slammed her fist onto the table.
Her friend flinched. “But… didn’t Yan Run get caught sneaking around with other Omegas? Otherwise, why would everyone call her a scumbag Alpha?”
Meng Qieyi lowered her gaze. “I don’t know… I really don’t…”
Her head throbbed violently. She groaned, bracing herself against the table.
Her friend gently patted her back, then took out a small packet of powder.
Meng Qieyi stared at her, stunned.
“Qieyi,” her friend said, voice low and sly. “If you really think you’ll never have Wenxi for a lifetime, why not just have her for one night? Who knows—maybe she’ll get pregnant with your child. Then that mutt Yan Run will have to raise your baby.”
A cigarette-stained grin curled across her friend’s face, wicked and gleaming.
Meng Qieyi shook her head. “No, I can’t… I…”
But her eyes lingered on the little packet. She knew exactly what was inside.
Her friend pressed it into her hand.
“It’s your decision. I won’t stop you. But think about it—you two were together for so long, yet you never even kissed her, let alone slept with her. Don’t you want to know what Wenxi’s Omega body feels like?”
Meng Qieyi stayed silent for a long time… finally, she looked down at the packet in her palm.
This kind of drug… even a top-tier Alpha wouldn’t be able to resist it.

That night, in the villa’s quiet living room, Yan Run pulled Yu Wenxi aside.
“No cameras here,” she said gravely, not even bothering to check if they were still live. Her voice was heavy with frustration. “Let’s just get a divorce. I can’t keep living like this—being cursed at every day.”
The director noticed something was wrong just in time. Thankfully, the camera feed was cut and switched to other participants outside. But fans quickly flooded the show’s official account when they realized the stream featuring Yu Wenxi had suddenly disappeared.
Menghua Video, being under the Yan family’s control, couldn’t afford to let their image take a hit.
Now off-camera, no one from production could hear what Yan Run and Yu Wenxi were saying.
The director hurriedly called Yan Huainan, begging him to talk sense into the second Miss Yan before things spiraled further.
Yu Wenxi quietly fixed her hair, then whispered near Yan Run’s ear,
“Didn’t we agree to talk about this a year from now? It’s only been a month. Can’t you wait?”
Yan Run glared. “A year is too long. I can’t.”
Yu Wenxi’s voice chilled. “What if my grandma finds out?!”
Yan Run snapped back, “She’s your grandma. What does that have to do with me?!”
As soon as the words left her mouth, Yan Run realized she’d gone too far.
Yu Wenxi’s calm expression finally cracked. A sharp slap echoed through the room.
“I’m sorry,” Yan Run murmured, holding her reddening cheek, eyes pleading. “I won’t say that again.”
Yu Wenxi felt a twinge of guilt for reacting so strongly—Yan Run wasn’t entirely wrong…
“But you know what your fans said—every word cut deep. Who wouldn’t take that to heart? The things they said were cruel, baseless… I just couldn’t take the insults.”
“But you told me it didn’t bother you!” Yu Wenxi’s voice rose with emotion.
“I never said that to you!” Yan Run shot back. “I said I didn’t care to myself. There’s a limit, you know? No one wants to be insulted every day.”
With that, she turned and walked out. After a few steps, she paused.
“Let’s cool off for now. I need to think things through. I hope you will too.” Yan Run said.
Yu Wenxi stood frozen.
This wasn’t the same Yan Run from before—the one who had been warm, silly, and always trying to make her laugh.
That Yan Run had trusted her completely, had once loved her recklessly, without holding anything back.
But time had changed things. This Alpha standing in front of her now wasn’t the same.
For the first time since Yan Run had lost her memories, Yu Wenxi cried.
Because Yan Run… really didn’t remember anything anymore.
And while she also wanted a fresh start, every memory they once shared flooded her mind—each one a blooming jasmine flower.

Back then, Yan Run had gotten injured while picking loquats for her, staying at the Yu residence to recover.
Realistically, she should’ve healed in two or three days. But she stayed for six.
Yu Wenxi took time off from filming for the first time in her life, just to spend time with her Alpha.
“Dinner’s ready!” Yu Wenxi called, walking into the room with dishes in hand.
She knew Yan Run had recovered, but said nothing. Even when He Yunzhi asked if she was better, Yan Run still shook her head—her eyes, however, were fixed on the bright, smiling Omega behind her.
He Yunzhi had seen enough to understand Yan Run’s little act, but said nothing—only made sure her granddaughter kept bringing her meals.
One meal led to another. And gradually, they grew closer.
Yan Run started sharing her secrets.
Like how she once tried on her mother’s bra as a child and got beaten for three days straight when her dad found out.
Or how she bet her sister that she’d confess to someone, and if rejected, would buy their breakfast for a month.
Yu Wenxi found it all oddly amusing.
Eventually, she shared her own secrets too.
Like how she enjoyed teasing people. That she wanted to fall in love, but didn’t want to get emotionally attached. How bad she thought she was for it.
Yan Run interrupted, “Then tease me. I’m okay with being messed with.”
Yu Wenxi scowled. “You’re insane.”
“You said you wanted to fall in love,” Yan Run replied, confused.
“I do—but I don’t like anyone yet.”
Suddenly, soft lips pressed against hers.
Startled, Yu Wenxi slapped her across the face.
Flushed, she snapped, “What the hell are you doing?!”
Yan Run winced from the pain but still pleaded, “I was teasing you back. That’s fair, right?”
“You’re such a perv!” Yu Wenxi yelled and stormed off.
Realizing she’d gone too far, Yan Run threw on her clothes and ran after her.
Xun Yi watched Yan Run running around the house like nothing had happened and muttered to herself: Didn’t she just say her waist hurt yesterday? She’s bouncing around just fine now…
Eventually, she found Yu Wenxi upstairs in the study.
Yan Run apologized profusely, saying she deserved to be slapped a hundred more times for being so impatient.
Yu Wenxi gave her a long look.
She wasn’t really angry—not exactly. It was more that… she couldn’t even summon the energy to be angry.
Yan Run was starting to look cuter and cuter…
“Tell me a few truths, and I’ll forgive you,” Yu Wenxi said, tugging on her ear with a smirk.
“Ow—okay, okay! I’ll tell the truth, I swear!” Yan Run winced.
“Do you really like me?”
Yan Run’s expression turned solemn.
“I swear, I, Yan Run, only like you. I like you very, very, very much. Forever and ever and ever!”
Yu Wenxi laughed despite herself.
She didn’t believe people could love one person for a lifetime, but Yan Run’s expression looked so sincere…
“Well then,” Yu Wenxi said slowly, “what if we date, and my fans find out? What if they spread rumors, try to ruin you, drag you into scandals… would you still want to be with me?”
Yan Run smiled like it was nothing.
“I thought it would be something serious. If being with you means getting cursed or smeared—so be it. None of that compares to how much I like you. Liking someone takes courage, doesn’t it?”
Yu Wenxi froze. Her teasing smile stiffened.
This idiot… she clearly didn’t like her that much. Why was she so persistent?
Still, she said, “Fine, I’ll be with you. But I have rules: no touching, no kissing, nothing physical. If I want to break up, I will—you can’t stop me.”
Yan Run immediately nodded. “Deal!”
Then shyly asked, “So… does that mean I’m your girlfriend now?”
“Of course,” Yu Wenxi replied.
The Alpha jumped up, beaming. “Yay!”
Yu Wenxi had only meant to play around with her, but somehow, she’d fallen for her instead.
In just a month of being with Yan Run, she knew—this was different.
It had never been like this with Meng Qieyi. She’d gotten bored of Meng after just ten days.
But Yan Run was different. She was funnier, more adorable. She always knew what Yu Wenxi wanted, solved her problems, eased her worries. She was like a treasure chest, a song of comfort.
Yu Wenxi wanted to pinch her cheeks, call her “baby.”

A month later, Yu Wenxi finally gave her first kiss.
It was Yan Run’s birthday.
She used to celebrate with family and friends—but this time, she only wanted Yu Wenxi.
As she blew out the candles, Yu Wenxi leaned in and kissed her cheek.
Soft and gentle.
A whisper followed in her ear:
“Don’t push your luck.”
Maybe that kiss was the switch—once flipped, everything escalated.
From light kisses, to one-minute makeouts, to five-minute tongue kisses.
At first, Yan Run really intended to date her without crossing any lines.
But when Yu Wenxi subtly began to guide her, she followed like a bee to honey.
One day, Yu Wenxi came to the Yan home. No one was there but Yan Run.
Holding her hand, Yan Run led her to her room.
As usual, Yu Wenxi sat in her lap, arms around her Alpha’s neck, kissing and cuddling. Yan Run’s hand started to explore.
Yu Wenxi gasped softly, “Baby… I think my heat’s coming.”
“Ah—it’s okay! I’ve got tons of suppressants at home,” Yan Run said with a smile.
This fool…
Yu Wenxi bit her lip and tapped her on the nose.
“I don’t want suppressants. They make me feel awful.”
“Then… what do you want, Jie?” Yan Run blinked innocently.
Yu Wenxi leaned closer, lips brushing hers, and bit her upper lip gently before licking it softly. Yan Run’s exploring hand burned with heat, and the Omega in her arms was just as hot.
“Baby… can’t you just use yourself to help me?”
Yan Run’s whole body heated up the moment she heard her voice.
