- Chapter 17 - Eating Grapes Again, Ignoring Me Once Your Pants Are Back On?
One by one, everyone left the room, leaving the space to the people who needed it most. Once only he and Yue Mingcang remained in the meeting room, Long Yin somehow found himself unable to sit still. His gaze flickered restlessly, unable to focus on any single point. The events of last night played on a continuous loop in his mind, and with Yue Mingcang’s presence, the images only grew clearer.
“You prepared grapes again today?” Yue Mingcang’s voice rang out. There was not a hint of the resentment or disgust Long Yin had anticipated; instead, his tone was full of delight.
Long Yin was confused. Logically speaking, Yue Mingcang should have been making a scene after suffering such an insult last night. However, looking at him now, he seemed completely unbothered. Could it be that the memories of yesterday were merely hallucinations brought on by drinking too much? But if the memory was a hallucination, how could he explain the increase in the humiliation value?
Yue Mingcang walked over to Long Yin and leaned halfway against the armrest of his chair, his lips curving upward. “Are these grapes prepared for me?”
Long Yin was doubly confused. There were indeed grapes on the coffee table, and they were indeed prepared for Yue Mingcang in case he visited. However, this was not a gesture of kindness; it was a blatant humiliation. A protagonist with less resilience would have triggered the humiliation value the moment they saw the plate. Not only did Yue Mingcang not provide any value, but he was actually teasing him. Was a straight man’s tolerance for suggestive situations really this high?
Long Yin cast a suspicious glance over Yue Mingcang before saying with a stern face, “What do you want from me?”
“Getting straight to business already?” Yue Mingcang laughed as he leaned down, speaking almost directly into Long Yin’s ear.
“If you are seeking a favor, you should watch your behavior,” Long Yin said, quietly shifting himself to the other side of the sofa chair to create some distance. “Furthermore, my rule is to discuss the matter before discussing the price.”
“As you wish.” Yue Mingcang stood up regretfully and sat in the armchair opposite Long Yin, his expression turning serious. “Is the office building near Longmen Port available for lease?”
Long Yin nodded without much hesitation. “It is.”
In truth, he did not actually know the answer. Operating a massive group like the Long Family was not easy, and it was impossible for him to know every detail. However, for the sake of the humiliation value, even if the building had not been for lease before, it certainly was now.
Yue Mingcang said, “Lease it to me at a low price. Business has been picking up lately, and I need a larger workspace.”
He said this so naturally that it did not sound like a request, but rather like a casual demand between friends. Long Yin found it both inexplicable and absurd, and his tone sharpened. “Are you joking? Longmen Port is a prime location. Why would I lease it to you at a low price?”
“Well, what do you want in exchange?” Yue Mingcang was still smiling brightly, completely unfazed by Long Yin’s attitude.
“You have never been able to afford the things I want,” Long Yin said, narrowing his eyes with dissatisfaction.
On the surface, he was talking about rent, but in his heart, he was thinking of humiliation value. If Yue Mingcang would just obediently give him humiliation value, forget a low-priced office building, Long Yin would be willing to hand over the entire Long Family enterprise with both hands.
“If you do not say it, how do you know I cannot afford it?” Yue Mingcang asked with a smile.
“You would not give it even if I told you!” Long Yin glared at him. “What? Are you trying to get something for nothing again? Is this the secret behind your smooth journey as a so-called entrepreneurial genius?”
These words were quite harsh, but Long Yin did not regret them. A villain was supposed to be a character who disregarded facts, twisted the truth, and constantly looked for reasons to bully the protagonist. It was only natural for a protagonist’s composure to crumble if a villain became overzealous in their duties. Long Yin prepared himself for Yue Mingcang to fly into a rage, but instead, Yue Mingcang nodded and admitted, “That is true.”
In the past, he always felt that there were no free lunches, only traps. However, after meeting Long Yin, he realized he had been dead wrong. Free lunches really did exist, and one truly could get something for nothing. All it took for a miracle to happen was a young, beautiful, innocent, and kind-hearted Long Yin.
Long Yin was stunned. A grand protagonist had actually admitted to such an insulting accusation from a villain! Was he not malicious enough, or was Yue Mingcang simply too enduring? Watching Long Yin’s widened eyes, Yue Mingcang keenly sensed that Long Yin might be angry again. He was always a bit clueless about the reasons behind Long Yin’s anger. In the beginning, he would feel a bit flustered, but now, he found Long Yin’s angry expression quite cute.
Yue Mingcang suppressed the restlessness in his heart and met Long Yin’s golden eyes directly. “I am begging you. I really want that office building at Longmen Port. Can I eat the grapes one more time?”
Long Yin was shocked. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity had just delivered itself to his door! Yue Mingcang had actually taken the initiative to suggest eating the grapes! Long Yin’s heart pounded with excitement, but he maintained a mask of indifference. He snorted and said calmly, “Sure. But it depends on how many you can eat. If it is too few, I might be disappointed.”
Halfway through his sentence, Yue Mingcang’s pants fell to the floor.
Long Yin froze like a stone statue with his mouth slightly open. His words failed him, and even his brain stopped functioning. Yesterday, Yue Mingcang had struggled through eight grapes on his own, but today he did not want to put in any effort at all. He picked up the plate and sat directly on Long Yin.
Long Yin was terrified. He tried desperately to shrink back, his gaze darting around, not knowing where to look. “What? What do you think you are doing?”
“Hmm?” Yue Mingcang wrapped his arms around Long Yin’s neck and whispered with a low laugh against his ear. “I only taught you yesterday. Has it only been one night and you already forgot?”
“You! What happened last night? I! I do not remember anything!” Long Yin looked away, avoiding eye contact, though his face was completely flushed. With an expression like that, he might as well have written “I am lying, I actually remember everything” on his forehead.
Long Yin’s tactics in the business world were even more sophisticated than those of the elder Master Long. Consequently, people tended to overlook his age and treat him like a mature ruler. But at this moment, Yue Mingcang realized with absolute clarity that the beautiful and shy youth before him was just a twenty-one-year-old child with zero experience.
Yue Mingcang gently pinched Long Yin’s reddened earlobe and said in the tone of a seasoned veteran, “So you ignore me once your pants are back on, Little Master Long?”
Long Yin was so startled he became incoherent. “What are you talking about? What pants? I do not know! And why are you so close to me? Do you not think this is a bit too intimate?”
Yue Mingcang said candidly, “I do not think so. We did everything we were supposed to do yesterday. It is only normal to be a bit intimate today.”
Long Yin was floored. Did grape humiliation really have this kind of side effect? Once it was done, did it automatically unlock such an intimate posture? Seeing Long Yin in a state of information overload and total shutdown, Yue Mingcang guided him further. “I really want that office building, but I cannot eat many grapes on my own. Can you be generous and help me, Little Master Long?”
Long Yin remained silent. It was strange. After experiencing such a suggestive and humiliating act once, Yue Mingcang was actually taking the initiative to ask for it a second time. Could a power-fantasy protagonist really sacrifice this much for the sake of his career? A warning light flashed in Long Yin’s mind; something felt very wrong. However, compared to the humiliation value being handed to him, whether it was wrong or logical did not seem that important.
After a moment of internal struggle, Long Yin gritted his teeth and said, “Fine. Since you are being sincere, I will help you one more time.”
