Chapter 35: Staring at Tao Ning’s Rosy Lips
A casual remark instantly ignited the anger on the other end of the phone, but perhaps it was because the person answering the phone was not the one he wanted to curse at.
Tao Ning could hear the other person forcefully suppressing his anger, but his voice was still sarcastic and contemptuous: “Xu Jun, don’t think you’re so great just because the school board keeps you as some broken student council president. You can’t even remember a few simple sentences. I’ll talk to them later and just give you some money to treat your brain. You should let someone else take your place at school.”
Xu Jun’s expression didn’t change: “Don’t bother, Second Young Master Song. I scored 139 on my international IQ test when I was six. Unlike you, Second Young Master Song, whose total score for six subjects didn’t even pass a hundred. As for who needs a brain CT, I think the school board has its own judgment.”
This was a blatant mockery of the other person being an idiot. As expected, the other end of the phone instantly sounded like it had been lit with dynamite. The words were almost squeezed out from between his teeth: “You’re asking for a fight.”
Tao Ning was a little at a loss between the two of them. For the sake of his ears, he quickly asked in a low voice, “Song, Song Yuceng… what happened?”
Just saying his name lightly had a surprisingly good effect. The person on the other end of the phone instantly extinguished his fire, but his voice still had a hidden anger. After a moment, he said with a hint of grievance, “Come over. I’m waiting for you on the top floor of the office building.”
“Oh.”
Finally getting a response, the other end of the phone snorted coldly and instantly hung up. Tao Ning looked at the slightly hot phone receiver in his hand, dazed and unable to snap out of it.
So Tao Ning didn’t notice that the man behind him had a slightly dark expression. His cold gaze watched him put another bag of lemon-flavored cookies and several stacks of test papers into his small black backpack.
So that bag of cookies didn’t belong to him alone.
Xu Jun frowned slightly, unable to describe the feeling. His voice dropped several tones and he said blandly, “If you don’t return to the dorm after 11:30 PM, it will be considered a late return, and your individual score will be deducted by 0.5 points.”
That meant he would lose another 7.5 points on his final grade. Tao Ning thought he was reminding him. He nodded seriously: “I’ll remember that. Thank you.”
But the man who was thanked seemed to be in a very average mood. He didn’t respond and went back to his desk to read. Tao Ning carefully closed the door, so he didn’t see that the next second after he left, the small cookie in the pale yellow packaging was thrown into the trash can.
Plop.
Song Yuceng threw the fruit on the table into the trash can in a fit of anger, his body filled with violence: “Get rid of all of them and bring new ones… Also, call Qian Shichang and tell him to come to the Blue Gold Club tonight.”
The bodyguard next to him nodded in agreement. The Blue Gold Club was a well-known place of decadence among these young masters’ circles. Second Young Master Song didn’t go there often, but when he did, someone would definitely be in trouble. The bodyguard knew it was caused by the person named Xu Jun in that phone call, and he also knew that this person named Xu Jun was in for it. Of all people to mess with, he had to mess with their second young master, who had a bad temper and held a grudge.
It was a pity. He wondered what he would be messed up into.
The extremely oppressive body came to the bathroom inside the office. Song Yuceng looked at himself in the mirror. With his hair slicked back and his collar open, his facial features were handsome to the point of being intimidating. He seemed a little fierce. He pondered for a moment with a grim face and then forced a smile at the mirror.
But it looked even stranger and uglier.
As time passed, Song Yuceng felt his heart beating faster and faster. In fact, it had only been a little more than a day since they had last seen each other. He just wanted to know if that country bumpkin was having a miserable time. He wanted to watch a show, nothing more.
By convincing himself of this, his nervous heart rate calmed down a little, and the smile on his lips became a little more natural. It wasn’t until a knock on the door sounded that his heart rate soared again, like a drum beating endlessly.
The bodyguard opened the door, and a fluffy head poked out from behind it. He was wearing a black backpack and a school suit. His eyes behind the black-rimmed glasses were full of curiosity and were sparkling, making people unable to help but fix their gaze on the boy.
When Song Yuceng came out, he saw such a scene. The boy stood obediently, his long fingers hooked on the straps of his backpack at his waist. Every Oksen College student’s suit uniform was custom-made. Not only was the price expensive, but the fabric was also comfortable and extremely form-fitting.
The boy had shed the old clothes he seemed to wear all year round. The school suit made his limbs look slender and long, and his exposed skin was so white it was glowing, delicate and smooth. At first glance, he looked more like someone who had been pampered than the young masters at school.
He blinked, and his thick eyelashes trembled. “Why did you want me to come? Is it because of the tutoring?” After a few days of getting along, Tao Ning was no longer as afraid of this bad-tempered second young master. Instead, he felt that what Xu Jun said made a little sense.
This second young master was so stupid and awkward.
He was very much like Little Meng when he was four or five years old, mischievous and unwilling to do his homework obediently.
Unexpectedly, with just a few simple questions, the bad-tempered and awkward second young master’s face seemed to turn red with anger. He glared at him with his eyebrows furrowed: “You… what kind of ghost clothes are you wearing?”
These words sounded a little familiar. This was not the first time Tao Ning had been disliked for his clothes. He still remembered that last time in the hospital, when he was wearing a patient gown, Song Yuceng also said that his clothes were no good, but this was a school uniform. Every student at Oksen College had to wear it. Why was he complaining again?
The system had praised him for looking like a little prince. Tao Ning was visibly upset: “Do I look ugly in a school uniform?”
He was actually very pretty, even with those dorky black-rimmed glasses.
But the person opposite him said fiercely: “Very ugly.”
“Oh.” Tao Ning secretly retorted in his heart: Then you look ugly in it too!
They had just met and were already at odds. The bodyguard sensed that the atmosphere was off and quietly left the office. As soon as the door closed, Song Yuceng’s tense body relaxed a little. He sat on the sofa and said, “Wu Yue told you to continue tutoring me. I reluctantly agreed. That’s why I asked you to come over. Don’t overthink it.”
“Who is Wu Yue?” The boy’s curiosity was not on “overthinking” at all.
Song Yuceng’s face turned cold: “Song Heng’s mother, who else?”
It was clear that this matter involved the complicated relationships within the Song family. Tao Ning knew that the mother and son had a terrible relationship, so he didn’t ask more. He nodded and sat next to him. This time, he learned. He chose the exact same distance as he did during the last tutoring session, not too far and not too close, to see how this second young master would find fault with him again.
But this second young master really did find fault with him: “Why are you sitting so far away? I’m not going to eat you.”
Tao Ning was a little speechless. He gave him a slightly annoyed look. The eyes of the person who was finding fault with him flashed. He snorted coldly and turned his head, but his ears were a little red.
There was nothing he could do. Tao Ning had to move a little closer. The rich, sweet scent instantly wrapped around the man, who immediately stiffened. But he didn’t say much; he just looked very awkward.
Tao Ning no longer cared what the person next to him was thinking. Luckily, he had come prepared. He took out several stacks of test papers and the bag of lemon-flavored cookies from his backpack and handed them over: “Here, for you.”
“Who would eat this kind of junk food…”
Even though he said that, the man snatched the cookie bag as if it were a treasure.
Tao Ning had only bought two bags of these cookies and hadn’t even eaten one himself. He was a little angry: “Then give them back to me.” He reached out to take them back.
Unexpectedly, the man became even more excited. He raised his hand high: “Once you give it to me, it’s mine.”
“I’m not giving it to you.”
“No.”
“Give it to me…”
“No.”
The two of them started fighting over a bag of small cookies on the sofa. But Song Yuceng was more than a head taller than Tao Ning, and his arms were also longer. If Tao Ning wanted to get the cookie in his hand, he had to constantly get closer, and closer, and closer—
Until his body couldn’t hold on and he accidentally fell on the man’s chest, which was constantly rising and falling. The cold temperature made Tao Ning shiver, but on such a cold body, the heart under his palm was beating extremely fast. Tao Ning was a little surprised. He looked up and met the man’s bottomless phoenix eyes.
They were a pair of eyes so beautiful that they were almost intimidating, but at this moment, they had turned into the gaze of a wild beast, staring at Tao Ning’s rosy lips. His gaze gradually deepened, and his Adam’s apple also rolled a few times.
Why… couldn’t he control his heart rate?
The man stared at the person in his arms. The boy’s plump, rosy lips made his mind go blank. The sweet scent wrapped around him airtightly, making him instantly lose the ability to think, as if he had fallen into a trap named Tao Ning.
He seemed to be enchanted, completely losing himself. He propped himself up with one hand on the sofa, and with the other hand, he forcefully held Tao Ning, whose eyes were a little dazed. His slightly dry lips moved closer.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Just as their lips were about to touch, the office door was suddenly pushed open.
