After the Demon Lord Lost His Memory, He Became the Immortal Venerable's Dao Companion - Chapter 11
“Would you do it on my face next time?”
“I really want to spend every lifetime with you, Zhuzhu. What about you? Will you find me annoying?”
Having learned his lesson countless times, Qi Yan wisely shook his head.
“You are so good, Zhuzhu.”
Shen Yuzong was very satisfied with this answer. He took Qi Yan’s hand and kissed it. The sensation of softness was exceptionally clear, yet Qi Yan still could not help but curl his fingers.
“If one day, Zhuzhu, you discover that I have lied to you about something very important, would you forgive me?”
Shen Yuzong tilted his head, resting his cheek gently in the palm of Qi Yan’s hand.
His body is so hot, but the mask is so cold, Qi Yan thought. Shen Yuzong is truly strange.
Qi Yan lowered his eyes, his gaze meeting Shen Yuzong’s burning stare in the air. Feeling as though he had been scorched, he abruptly looked away.
Clearly, everything was decided by him, yet he always insisted on acting so pitiful.
Qi Yan turned his head to the side and let out a sound so quiet it was barely audible: “Yes.”
It was the kind of murmur that would go unnoticed unless one was listening very carefully, but Shen Yuzong smiled nonetheless.
He lifted his hand to support Qi Yan’s waist and turned him around so they were facing each other.
“What is it?” Qi Yan asked, still feeling a bit uneasy, twisting his fingers.
Shen Yuzong did not speak. He looked at Qi Yan quietly for a long time, only withdrawing his gaze when the other man began to shrink back.
He raised his hand and suddenly removed the black mask from his face.
Qi Yan stared, stunned by the sight of the half-face before him.
Shen Yuzong’s entire right cheek was covered in massive burn scars, some of which even extended to the corner of his eye. Even describing it as “flesh torn and mangled” would be an understatement.
“What? Is Zhuzhu frightened…”
Before Shen Yuzong could finish his sentence, he felt the sensation of cool, tender skin spreading across the rough, new flesh of his scar.
Qi Yan had reached out to touch the scar. His slender eyebrows were tightly knit, and his fingers trembled slightly. “Does it hurt?”
Shen Yuzong felt his throat move as he swallowed. Qi Yan’s hair drifted onto his face, bringing a slight tickle. He had expected that, given Qi Yan’s personality, he would be terrified. He never imagined that the first thing Qi Yan would say was to express concern for him.
He buried the entirety of his scarred cheek into Qi Yan’s palm. Knowing that Qi Yan was ticklish, he deliberately rubbed the rough scar gently against the soft skin of Qi Yan’s palm.
Qi Yan bit his lip in discomfort, but he did not pull his hand away. Although Shen Yuzong was always playing the victim, Qi Yan had never truly realized how severe his burns were.
A sharp pain pierced his chest. Qi Yan thought that perhaps what Shen Yuzong said was true; otherwise, why would he feel so heartbroken seeing this scarred face, even though he remembered nothing?
Tears splashed onto Shen Yuzong’s face, though they quickly transformed into pearls and rolled onto the ground.
“Why are you crying? Do you feel sorry for me?”
“The devil is the one who feels sorry for you!” Qi Yan puffed out his cheeks and retorted indignantly.
Shen Yuzong leaned close to Qi Yan’s ear and whispered, “If you feel sorry for me, would you do it on my face next time?”
Qi Yan, realizing what Shen Yuzong was implying, felt both angry and ashamed. He stammered a few words, but could only manage to mutter insults that sounded more like flirtation. “You scoundrel!”
Shen Yuzong laughed. He knew Qi Yan had a soft heart and deliberately intended to exploit it. Shen Yuzong was never a gentleman; naturally, he would use every advantage to keep Qi Yan tied to him.
“So, Zhuzhu, if you ever leave your husband behind, no one will want me anymore.” Shen Yuzong lowered his eyes, wearing a pathetic expression.
Qi Yan remained silent. He was still angry at Shen Yuzong. Why was this man always so unserious, with his mind completely preoccupied with such matters?
“Has Zhuzhu forgotten what I said again?”
Shen Yuzong looked up. Borrowing his scarred face as a shield, he acted bolder and more shameless.
He caught the hand Qi Yan had placed on his face and brought it to his lips, gently biting it with his teeth and tongue.
Qi Yan, scorched by the heat, tried to pull his hand back, but Shen Yuzong deliberately exposed the scarred half of his face, knowing this would make Qi Yan’s struggles weaker.
“Shen Yuzong, you rogue!” Qi Yan said angrily.
Shen Yuzong curved his lips into a smile, accepting the accusation with peace of mind. He was even in the mood to joke, “Then that makes you the rogue’s wife, does it not?”
